I've been quiet for most of the week. Learning to live and work with in our new reality. Spring hit at around 8:40 pm this evening and Spring is starting to show in the yard. The bulbs are starting to flower and are so pretty. These flowers are volunteers, does anyone know what they are? I played with some new yarn #søljeyarn by @hillesvagullvarefabrikk It is Norsk Pelsullgarn, a naturally grey yarn, and the grey shows through the dye giving the yarn a wonderfully deep texture. The yarn is wooly and has some bite - I am going to enjoy playing with this yarn. Short-row corners, the perfect answer to a square corner in a shawl. They lie flatter than a gathered corner, use less yarn, and to my mind they "suit" the shape of a rectanglar shawl in way that the gathered corner does not. Gradient colourways and Shawl Knitting 1) a match made in heaven 2) a challenge to design around, to get the best effect out of the gradient 3) one of the most fun yarns to knit as the colours develop and change through the shawl 4) all of the above Yarn is @freiafibers Shawl Ball in the Coho colourway.
