cherish: Favorite thing about writing the muse?

i’m trying to figure out how to not make this sound like a humblebrag but my favourite part of writing daisy is that she is defined by being so smart! it like... really keeps me on my toes, logic wise, language wise, creativity wise, it’s expanded my vocab immensely, it pushes me to read and research, it exercises the shit out of my writing skills and has generally made me a funnier, more educated and apparently wittier (?) person in real life, according normie people i have talked to. this happened, people clapped. i love that daisy is also a writer and i love writing through her lenses so that i can push my own creativity when it comes to expressing her tangled little weird girl feelings. obviously being smart means many things (for example, daisy is Very not emotionally smart) but writing daisy’s wit and quick thinking has vastly expanded my own and that’s pretty fucking neat

i also like that she can afford the clothes i want and can’t pay for

honestly up there are the fact that she is allergic to peanuts and also is deadly afraid of dryer lint. she also really fucking likes mcdonalds, but no one can ever know.

ooooo i think he’s deluded himsef into believing that he would be a good parent ie his self-centered, if not selfish, mindset, but he has a lot of growth before he could be a feasible decent parent. if someone popped out his off-spring he would be the most exaggerated 21st century helicopter dad

Also: Ideally, in his last year of school, Corbin will find a sustainable trajectory going forward, even if that just means finding a passion and sticking with it. Maybe he’ll be an internet personality or something. Maybe he’ll reconnect with his siblings. It depends on how nice I decide to be.

MEMOIR, MISSED

MEMOIR: Favorite part of your muse’s backstory?

I think honestly my favorite part of Soap’s established backstory is that pretty much most of the events in their life are pretty benign. As much of an issue as their supernatual anatomy is none of their real tangible problems hold as much weight as their interpersonal ones. So i really like that at the heart of everything Soap is just someone who is suffering from the isolation that comes from living in impoverished rural communities just with some extra flair.

MISSED: What-ifs/Alternate Timelines

There’s definitely a What If out there where the line between the human host and their parasite was a little bit less blurred and more like a tug of war. As it stands the parasite’s will and the human’s will manifest as just some inner confusion rather than a power struggle; they’re both what we know of as Soap. but i think exploring a dynamic where theres just a normal teen desperately trying to hold back the desire to kill and eat everyone around them has interest. It was just a little bit more serious than what i wanted to do

1: What’s your OC’s biggest insecurity and how would they react if someone pointed it out to them?Don’t ever point out any feature of him that’s girlish.  He’s already well aware that he’s not very conventionally masculine, and he’s constantly on edge and  monitoring himself and his movements to make sure he doesn’t do anything that suggests femininity, lest somebody get Suspicious. He’ll get very defensive and very, very nasty, (as if that’s not fucking Suspicious), then preemptively dig up some dirt on the person just in case he needs to blackmail them.

4: Would your OC want to involve themselves in humanitarian work ? If yes, then for what? If not, then why not?Nick’s future more or less is humanitarian work, emphasis on human.  As Nick grows up and becomes more competent, generally,and more able to defend and protect himself and others, he’s not going to forget how it feels to be constantly scared, and his work in the...organization type thing he’s going to be in is based on protecting humans and tldr be the adult you needed when you were a child.11: How would your OC react to hearing they’re adopted?His first reaction would be “oh thank god” because he hates his father, and then “wait, why?” because his father hates being a father, so why the fuck would he adopt?  It wouldn’t be that much more of a clusterfuck than their relationship already is, frankly.

WEEP, MEMOIR

What it takes to make them cry: i initially envisioned moire as somewhat stoic, but she turned out to be a huge crybaby instead. moire’s canonically cried when she didn’t understand a math problem. she’s cried (in front of everyone, embarrassing) because misha threw her a surprise birthday party and people came. she’s cried at someone calling her a friend for the first time. she’s cried because trauma and pain and not winning a fight as quickly as she wanted and not winning a fight at all. she’s cried because misha was crying, because she had a fight with aud, because she got detention the one time she didn’t deserve it, because daisy hit a nerve by blind instinct, because her da sounded happy on the phone. she cries at good poetry and bad poetry and the embarrassing romance novels she pretends she doesn’t read and eighty percent of the shitty sci fi paperbacks lying on her floor. she still cries sometimes when misha tells her he loves her. a stiff breeze could make moire cry. she’s pretty good at hiding it, though, squeezing into the bathroom or the lake or just straight up not going to class if it’s a bad day that way. she’s got a reputation to keep up, and anyone other than misha who catches her at it is asking for a fistfight. 

Favorite part of your muse’s backstory: to quote alex: “ to be fair aquaman looks fun but you mean to tell me a beautiful underwater queen fell in love with some random lighthouse keeper and didnt just fuck him to make a baby to have a connection with his dead twin whom the underwater queen was in love with”

[ai gets a little celebration the same way kalli did when he brought the ice. her cookies disappear in less than two minutes, gulfed down without much appreciation for taste. misha looks very disappointed when he realizes there’s nothing more left, but later he’ll convince the guy in charge of the aux cord to play some k-pop.

[capital u Unfortunately, being quiet and kind of weird by hair gloves standards, hollis is for a little while an easy target for that thing high school boys do where they sort of are super friendly and you have to reply with equal cheerfulness or it might easily turn mocking. if they cross the line into meanness misha will throw his empty can of beer at their heads with a kind of laser precision that impresses even himself.]

ok these are the same answer bc yeah the point is she’s extremely monochrome! bc she’s made of clay and all but also because it’s something at once mundane and very striking i think. like she very literally blends in at home and but sort of stands out at school? she’s weird lookin.

Is there any significance behind their height?

she’s like, above average height because i just thought she would look kinda cool and impressive doing her forest parkour shit, but also a little clumsy just standing around. like feeling very detached and awkward in her body when she dissociates is such a difference from how comfortable and like practical it feels normally. also she’s still growing i think bc there is that whole “clay child won’t stop growing, eats everything, then everyone” part of the lore lol. it probably won’t be so literal but i think she’s gonna get tall??
