Thank you guys so much for following me on this Virtual Hug journey thus far ╰(*´︶`*)╯♡ There will likely be more projects coming, including some stuff from a KNY AU I’m creating with a friend of mine, so do look forward to it!

Here's to KNY's ordinary girls:
To Kotoha, who never let the abuse she endured from her husband get in the way of loving Inosuke. She protected him with all her heart right until the end showing that she was emotionally strong and resilient.
To Tsutako, who looked after her sick parents when she was young and then did the same for her little brother. She was brave and selfless using herself as a distraction to save her brother who meant the world to her.
To Aoi, who despite her low self-esteem is dependable, strong, and caring. She trained and saved many slayers with her skills.
To Koyuki, who saved Hakuji twice. Even though she was physically fragile, she was a strong presence in his life and she loved him despite his past giving him a chance at redemption and purpose.
And finally, to Ruka who raised her son to be a hero instilling in him morals and inner strength that became an everlasting flame saving everyone he met.
Here's to the girls with golden hearts and unmatched resolve and strength.

I've been thinking about kny and I think my favorite thing about it is the fact that all of the demons that turned human (before and after death) have done so because of love.
Rui is the first demon we see turn human because of love. It was after death, but he turned human because of his parents' love for him, and vice versa.
Next is Ume and gyutaro. Ume turns first, so I'll talk about her first.
Ume turned human after death because of her love for Gyutaro. If she didn't love her brother the way she did, she most likely wouldn't be human.
Gyutaro was next. He turned human after death, too. He turned because of his love for Ume. She reminded him that they promised to stick together through everything, and because he loved her, he decided to keep the promise and let Ume join him in hell. He also turned human then. Again, not possible without love.
Nothing like that happens for a while after, so beware of manga spoilers below the cut.
The next demon to turn is Akaza, yet again because of love. This time though, it wasn't familial. He turned because of love from several people, but mainly his fiancee. She showed up first, and she provoked the memories, for lack of better phrasing.
Koyuki begs Akaza to stop and just move on so they can be together again. Akaza's dad tells him that he's okay and that he doesn't need to fight anymore. Keizo tells him that he's okay, as well, and that he'll never stop loving him. Then, Muzan steps in.
Muzan tells him to keep getting stronger, and again, Akaza almost continues-- but then, Koyuki steps in. She tells him that it's okay and that he doesn't need to fight anymore. And that's when he fully turns human-- before that, he was, technically, but when Muzan showed up, he became a demon again.
He apologized so much to Koyuki for things out of his control, but Koyuki told him that she was just glad to be able to be with her husband once more.
And then, Akaza completely disintegrates. He's dead now. We see Koyuki join him in hell.
Anyways if you couldn't tell I love hakukoyu--
On to Nezuko. She's the next. She turns because of both a medicine from Shinobu and Tamayo, and because of love from others. She recalls Tanjiro inviting her home, and she turns fully at that point.
Tanjiro is the last. When he's a demon, none of the slayers present can bring themselves to behead him. They all love him too much. And so they force him into the sunlight, but of course that doesn't work-- he can be in the sun. Nezuko-- now human-- joins the fight. She runs up to Tanjiro and he bites her shoulder, but she doesn't let go of him. He also doesn't kill her, in fact doesn't even intentionally harm her beyond the bite.
He tries an attack, and Nezuko puts her hand in front of it, but the attack misses. He's fighting back against Muzan, of course. Kanao rejoins the fight, and she has a cure. She stabs Tanjiro with it and tells him to stop.
In Tanjiro's mind, he's trying to get back to Nezuko and the others. He is being helped from behind by the ghosts of his dead family, and in the front, he reaches the arms of all of his living friends and, of course, Nezuko. She's the first one he reaches, too.
If it weren't for everyone's love for him, he wouldn't have become human again.

Kindness
Sometimes all someone needs is some kindness.
(This is inspired by the post @lelee-tdn on tumblr. The post is linked below.
Apologies if this isn't the best writing and so short. I'm having some writer's block and got a random burst of inspiration for this so I wrote this quickly.)
Tumblr media
The day was bright and beautiful as the mid-day light fell through the window and grazed over the few patrons still in the small cafe you worked at. The murmuring hums of light talk, generic elevator like music, and the occasional care passing by outside. It combined with the sounds from the kitchen. Clinking dishes, utilities, and the occasional shout of an order ready to be served. Relatively peaceful and normal day for those whom worked the cafe life.
It was a demanding job sometimes if you had to handle multiple orders by yourself especially if you were by yourself or happened to be short-staffed that day or if there just so happened to be a large crowd. But it wasn't a bad job. The Patrons were mostly friendly aside from the occasional Karen or grumpy person in the morning who demanded their caffeine high for the morning. It always smelt nice with the lingering scents of coffee, chocolate, and various hand made baked goods in the glass display nearby.
After a while one would even start to recognize the frequent customers visiting the shoppe's doors. The old couple that always stop by on their Sunday strolls for tea and macaroons. The man in the suit with consistent eye bags always tiredly asking for coffee in the mornings. The soccer mom that brings her children in for doughnuts every Tuesday night. Not every patron ordered something though. There was the frequent college students or bookworms that just liked to sit in the cafe and do their own things. Sometimes they'd order snacks sometimes they didn't but that was life.
It was a slow day this morning in particular.
The smells of glass cleaner mixed in with the scents of coffee and sweet vanilla as a cloth ran across the shiny glass of the display case. Inside it beheld the delicious sights within it's hold. A few cupcakes and cakes ready to be bought and eaten. Tempted to take one himself. But it'd have to come out of his pockets if he did so. Not many people had come in today either. A few in the morning for a quick coffee run before work but for now it was just him alone here. He didn't mind, it was Peaceful and quiet other than the distant sounds of the cars passing by on the streets outside.
So perhaps that's why he was caught off guard when someone did come by.
Sort of.
He saw a lady around his age. She didn't come inside but sat outside at one of the tables just stationed in front of the giant window. She had a bright smile on her face and was happily tapping away on her phone. Maybe she felt eyes on her because green eyes turned to him.. And she gave him a friendly wave.  He just gave a polite nod back before going back to cleaning the display case. He'd best get back to cleaning up the place while there was a lapse in crowds.
Now he wasn't sure how long time had passed between the few times he glanced up again, A second time an hour later as he was sweeping the floors, she seemed to still be on her phone. And again a third time a little bit after that and was surprised at how hunched over she was.
What was more of a surprise was the expression on her space. Thick large tears were weld up in her eyes, large enough for even him to see all the way by the register, and falling onto her face only to trail down her cheek and dripped onto her sleeves. Quite a shocking sight. Her hands shook as she stared at her phone and looked like she was reading something before a silent sob wracked through her body. Slowly she slumped forward until her forehead pressed against the table and the phone thudded from her hands effectively deflating like a balloon. You'd think she was hit with the saddest news in the world.
**********
"Excuse me, Miss." The lady didn't look up from where she was splayed out across the table and honestly he was half expecting this. "I couldn't help but notice you were crying. Is everything ok?"
"Does being left all alone count?" Her slightly hoarse voice caught him off guard a bit and her head looked up at him. Her eyes were pink and puffy from crying and her nose sniffled. He was debating if her question was her giving him a cue to leave when she hiccuped out a sentence. "Why does this keep happening? Is there something wrong with me?"
His brows rose higher as he scanned her body and the table for a moment making it click. "Were you.. expecting someone?"
Another hiccup from her most likely sore throat. "Was is right. Why does this always happen? I thought it was going do well and then-.." Her lip quivered before a hand wiped at her face.
Oh. He got it now. A wave of irritation washed over him as the unspoken puzzle was finished. "Ah. I see. Sounds like a doged bullet then."
The hand paused in the rubbing of her face. Green eyes blinking widely up to him. "W-What?"
"Listen. I don't know much about your situation but usually if a bad thing avoids you then it's a sign you have incredible luck."
Those eyes blinked wider. "Luck? H-How is constantly being stood up luck?" Her hands lifted upwards in a shrug motion. "There's only so many times that this happens to me before it's obvious that I'm the only one who's stuck in the middle."
"You might be in the middle but that doesn't mean you're at the bottom of the barrel..." He sighed and her head lifted up as something was placed in front of her. A pink plastic cup of..boba tea? And..a small plate of fango? They pushed towards her face so she backed up until she was forced to sit back up to stare at the goods-"I thought you might've been hungry from just sitting out here for so long." Her face turned to him mouth opening- "It's on me so don't worry about it." He offered a smile finally. "You needed it more than we did anyways."
Those eyes blinked. "But..why?"
"Because you're the luckiest girl in the world. If someone is only surface level looking then they aren't worth the gold that buried beneath the surface they miss. I know because I've seen someone who was in your situation once."
A small sniffle escaped her throat as she blinked and a sleeve wiped her eyes. "You have a girlfriend?"
"Fiance actually." Arms crossed proudly for the first time since they met. "Take it from someone who took a really good woman for granted once, you're not unworthy if someone doesn't see you that way. It just means that the person who's looking for ya hasn't seen you yet either." Her eyes widened as he nodded making a move to turn and leave. "Enjoy your food."
Green eyes blinked widely as he turned and left her there, the shoppe door sending off a cute little bell chime as the door opened and closed behind him. She lingered a little longer as she blinked before looking back to her small plate.. Slowly a hand clasped around the stick before lifting the small dango to her mouth and taking a bite.
A hand grabbed her cheek as she hummed. "Ha! So yummy!"
She didn't notice the smile she had gotten from inside the cafe. A sign of better things to come surely-
"A dozen of those chocolate cupcakes please."
A pair of eyes looked up from where they were currently studying a stack of styrofoam coffee cups his hands hand been restocking nearby. Blue eyes met familiar green eyes they hadn't seen for a little over four months. A large smile on pretty features that had him smiling widely back in response.
"Sure." The cups were slowly placed down and he turned to the two people standing there. "Will that be everything for you then?"
"No. Make it two dozen. I'm paying for it anyways." The voice of a black haired man standing right beside her piped up bluntly as she gaped at him surprised.
"Whaaa?! Are you sure?? You don't mind me having so much?"
Her shuffling was nervous as the slightly smaller man looked down slightly and it was only then that he realized that the two people in front of him was holding hands.
"It's fine. You deserve it from all the late work you've been doing lately."
"AW! OBI! You seriously spoil me too much!," she gushed making the other man shrink a little into his collar but not out of embarrassment if the pink of his face had anything to say. Her hand made a peace sign indicating the number two. "Make it two please!"
The smile upon his face widened. "You got it."

Yet again with some info of Mermaid/Pirates AU [Masterlist]
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Forgot to mention this) The Butterfly Pirates are easy to spot with their signature butterfly hairclips. Even if they occasionally don't wear it, their faces are recognizable in the bounty papers.
Merman Akaza makes an appearance with an unconscious Koyuki in his arms! The Butterfly Pirates are wary and surprised, but they are willing to lend a helping hand.

I want to talk about this panel for a second, ok.
“Get a fresh start, young man”.
not you can, not you will, not can you— but get. Because Akaza can. And Keizo belived that he would. He is telling Hakuji to go and do it, that he is capable, that from here it’s only forward.
Do you guys realize what a crucial thing this was to say for someone just barely 18, who lived a life of constant pain and never knew anything but having to fight for his life? Do you guys get that hearing that someone believes in you even when you are literally in the pits of hell, fighting and no one is left to support you because you’re a lost cause—> not even you believe in yourself—> but then comes someone who not only believes in you, but also helps you begin a new life, even though both of you know you won’t be able forget what you’ve done or fully atone, you can still grow and become a better version of yourself. Keizou was more than a mentor for Hakuji, he was that person who kept him from becoming a worse being than a demon. He kept Hakuji’s heart alive, he kept believing in him even after the centuries of Hakuji forgetting his teachings, bloodying his style and murdering hundreds—> Hakuji didn’t even fully forget everything because even then, he was motivated to be stronger, to be different. While his hatred from humans stems from the poisoning of the well and the murder of the people he loved, I think that it also came from himself; he hated himself for being weak, for failing, for being unable to adhere to his master’s wishes, for becoming a weakling himself. He wanted to kill himself all along. Hakuji truly believed he deserved to die because he failed each person he loved, but again, at the very end:
Tumblr media
The person who believed in him, the person who loved him, that person is here to believe in him again—> and to remind him that he is first and foremost, just a kid, a son, a student who has so much to learn and can still do it. He can’t teach him any more or change what Hakuji had done, but he can still watch over him. And I think that that silent support, that hand on his head, those words: that’s what keeps Hakuji clinging to life and to what ultimately makes him unapologetically himself. Hakuji, someone who has been abandoned all his life, gets to hear that was never truly alone: he always had someone watching over him. But feeling alone, convincing yourself that you’re all alone, fighting against the world all your life—> those are not easy things to let go of. That’s when Koyuki comes in.
Tumblr media
I want to note that Koyuki was the only one who held his head up rather than pushing it down, which is a great way to show that she was the one person who never failed to keep Hakuji up and kicking. Notice how she doesn’t want him to bow for her. She wants him to look at her—> to be leveled with her. She was the one person who never pushed him down. She was the one person who he failed, but she never let him down and never blamed him for it. She only wanted him to see that he did enough for her and she loved him regardless, that she appreciated him, that he could stop. He could live. He could he happy. She believed that he deserved happiness, so she smiled at him and helped hold his head up. She never wavered, she is like her father. Do you guys understand what it feels like to be alone for so long that you forget what it’s like to have people acknowledge you? Do you guys understand how lonely and desperate Hakuji had to be to kill 67 people? How angry he had to be at losing the only people in his life who believed in his ability to be good? How fed up with the loneliness he had to be to say “I don’t care anymore”? Do you guys understand that he never had a fighting chance until Keizo and Koyuki?
I need you all to understand that all Hakuji wanted was to love and be loved without consequences. Without suffering. Without being alone.
All he wanted was to know that he was loved.
He had people on his side.
He didn’t have to be so alone.
He didn’t deserve to be so alone.
His father killed himself for two reasons: one because he believed that he was a burden, and two because he believed that his son would not change if he still had reason to act out. He did not believe in Hakuji the correct way, but his intentions were well meaning. Even if he had given up. Keizo kept fighting for Hakuji, Koyuki did too, because no matter what, he is a son first. He is a student, and he is a lost boy who never had any real guidance or support, but that hand on his head and that smile that he could only remember when he was punched in the face. His memories were brought back by the pain for having to remember, of having to own up to it. But the pain is okay. Hakuji is okay, and he can finally be at peace with the people he loved because he understands that they were never angry with him in the first place.
They were just sad to see that he lost his way.
What matters is that he found it again, maybe not in the ideal way, but he found it. And he found them. He found them in his heart again where they had been pushed back by centuries of rage and drive for power, hunger for strength for them.
He found his way, he found his family and he found those who loved and believed in him.
Even in the end, because no one truly is alone.
