Koh Rong Sanloem 🏝️

📍CAMBODIA

Mit dem Minivan 3 Stunden nach Sihanoukville. Die Straße ein einziger Trümmerhaufen. Mehr muss man dazu glaube ich nicht sagen. Von Sihanoukville ging es dann mit dem Katamaran auf die Insel Koh Rong Sanloem. Angepriesen als „ursprüngliches Asien von vor 30 Jahren“ waren unsere Erwartungen und auch der Entdeckerdrang hoch!

Der Strand in der Saracen Bay an dem wir ankamen war dann leider voller Müll. Viele Resorts halb abgerissen und abgesperrt. So hatten wir uns das nicht vorgestellt.

Das Kamaku Hostel befand sich allerdings auf der Ostseite der Insel, genau gegenüber. So waren wir gezwungen die einstündige Wanderung durch den dichten Dschungel über einen Berg mit den Backpacks zu bezwingen. Da war es - das Abenteuer!

Nassgeschwitzt und völlig fertig am Hostel angekommen, gab es einen sehr guten Lemonjuice an der Bar. Danach konnten wir den traumhaften Sunset Beach bestaunen - eine Oase der Ruhe ganz ohne Tuktuks und Pauschaltouristen. Die Uhren ticken hier langsamer und auch der Strom fließt nur einige Stunden am Tag.

Es folgten zwei entspannte Strandtage in einem offenen Schlafsaal direkt im Dschungel. Morgens wurden wir von den Geräuschen der Wellen geweckt, kurz darauf folgten die Überfälle der Affen. Insgesamt ein echter Geheimtipp, der aber auch seinen Preis hatte.

Heute gibt's ein richtiges Selfie. Eins von mir, mit mir. So schön blau. 😍 Wie ihr vielleicht in meiner Story mitbekommen habt, haben wir Koh Rong gestern verlassen und sind weiter nach Kampot gefahren. Die Fahrt war ein Abenteuer. 😀 Seht es euch an. ☺️ Heute geht es nach dem verspäteten Frühstück gleich los und wir erkunden die schöne Gegend von Kampot. ...this is heaven !

i could stay here forever! the most chilled vibes you can imagine. barefoot all day, delicious expat food, bioluminescent plankton swim every night! and a free beer night for everyone during chinese new years celebrations right on the beach - i mean can it get any better? keep on extending my stay. i absolutely love it out here even though there is not much to do other than sunbathing, swimming, snorkelling, playing card games and drinking - in that order over and over again. everyone is just having a good time. glad that i still managed to get off the island in the end as time schedules of the ferries are unreliable and mine nearly got cancelled due to heavy rain and storm.
