DBD Killer Concept: Konquest through Trial

Killer Name: The Konqueror
Weapon: Warhammer
Terror Radius: 40m
Movement Speed: 4.6 (115%)
Power: Outworlds Wrath
Shao Kahn thrives on overwhelming his foes with brute force, intimidation, and crushing blows. His power is divided into three abilities:
•Hammer Slam: Hold the Power button to charge a devastating hammer strike. Upon release, Shao Kahn slams the hammer into the ground, creating a shockwave that staggers Survivors within 8 meters. Survivors directly hit by the hammer are instantly downed, survivors hit by the shockwave nearly loose one health state along with being staggered.
•Staggered Survivors suffer from a 2-second Hindered effect (-10% movement speed).
•If the slam hits a pallet or breakable wall, it instantly destroys it.
•4-second cooldown after use.
•Emperor’s Taunt: Shao Kahn can unleash a menacing taunt by pressing the Active Ability button. Nearby Survivors within his terror radius will suffer from the Oblivious and Enraged status effect for 6 seconds and have their aura briefly revealed (3 seconds).
•Enraged makes the survivor wish to face the konqueror head on, making them unable to vault or work on generators.
•If a Survivor Drops a pallet within 5 seconds of being taunted, they gain the Exposed status effect for 10 seconds.
•45-second cooldown.
•Kahn’s Wrath (Special Ability - Passive Meter): Each time Shao Kahn injures or downs a Survivor, he builds Wrath Meter. At max Wrath (after 5 hits), he gains the Outworld Champion buff for 12 seconds:
•Movement speed increases to 4.8 m/s.
•Hammer Slam cooldown is reduced to 2 seconds.
•Breaking pallets, walls and vaulting are 20% faster.
•Wrath Meter resets after the effect ends.
Perks: Kahn brings 3 perks with him
1. Mockery of weakness
The failure of others makes you disgusted and humored.
•When a survivor fails a skill check, their aura is reveled to you for 6/9/12 seconds. Any survivor within 6m of the survivor who failed the skill check has their aura reveled for 4/5/6 seconds.
“Is this your best? Pathetic!” — Shao Kahn
2. Trial By Kombat
All battles must be fought on YOUR terms.
•At the start of the match, one survivor will be chosen as your obsession, or, The Chosen Fighter. The obsession is exposed for 30/45/60 seconds, but pallet drops and blindness lost longer on you.
•If the survivor is downed in the given time, they are permanently stricken with the broken status effect, and are now not worth your time, as a new survivor becomes your obsession.
“Outworld can only have Earthrealm through mortal kombat” — Raiden
3. Emperors Decree
Your mere presence forces submission from those who dare oppose your decree
•Every time a generator is completed, all Survivors suffer from the Hindered (-5% movement speed) effect for 8/10/12 seconds.
•If you down a Survivor while Hindered is active, all other Survivors scream and reveal their location for 4/5/6 seconds.
“All will submit to my masters will. Thunder god” — Shang Tsung
Voicelines:
Start of the Trial:
•“You are nothing!”
•“Kneel before your emperor!”
•“Your souls are mine to claim!”
Spotting a Survivor:
•“Weak!”
•“Run while you can!”
•“Your struggle is pointless!”
Chasing a Survivor:
•“You dare challenge me?!”
•“Pathetic!”
•“Bow before me!”
•“Flee, coward!”
Landing a Basic Attack:
•“FEEL PAIN!”
•“You will die!”
•“This is your end!”
Downing a Survivor:
•“Your failure is inevitable!”
•“On your knees!”
•“Your no Liu Kang!”
Hooking a Survivor:
•“This is your fate!”
•“Suffer!”
•“You are already dead!”
Using Hammer Slam (Power Ability):
•“Tremble before my might!”
•“Your bones will break!”
•“FEEL THE WRATH OF KAHN!”
•“Nowhere to run!”
•“You are mine!”
Destroying a Pallet/Wall:
•“Useless!”
•“Nothing can stop me!”
Survivor Escapes (Hatch/Gate):
•“Your victory is meaningless.”
•“This battle is not over!”
•“I will hunt you down! Not matter what realm you scurry off to!!”
Mori Execution:
•“FATALITY!” (laughs loudly after finishing the kill)
Mori:
Shao Kahn lifts the survivor up before smashing his hammer on their head, then summons his spear and slams it from their chin to mouth. Stabbing the spear on the ground, leaving the survivor to gurgle and choke on their own blood as they slide onto their knees, submitting to Shao Kahn’s Wrath.
The emperor laughs in glee, before ripping off their arms and summoning his warhammer, slamming it on the tip of his spear, causing a shockwave of magic to explode the survivors skin and organs, leaving a meat bag kneeling in place forever as Kahn retrieves his spear “Fatality!”

Currently using Debian 12, with KDE Plasma, which i previously used. But i had problems running plasma last year, with repeated random plasmashell crashes. I could even repeatedly cause plasmashell to crash by removing a second panel/taskbar.
But i returned to plasma to check out running wayland, i've previously used x11-based desktops and even ran plasma on x11. And it turns out plasma is actually more stable on wayland, at least the 5.27 version debian 12 ships with. Which is not something i expected, because all the talk of wayland not being fully there yet, which iirc is why i defaulted to using x11 earlier despite plasma's wayland session. I can still cause plasmashell to crash on x11 by removing a panel, but not on wayland, and the random crashes don't happen either on wayland either. It's a smooth reasonably bugfree experience that lives up to debian's reputation for stability.
I'm running older versions of KDE Plasma and of most things on this OS, because that's the Debian way, but who cares. if the software works I don't care if it's old, and with Debian I don't have to worry about an update breaking my system, and don't have to worry about frequent updates in general, which is a plus in my book (don't judge me, I have Windows update trauma /j).
my current desktop, the theme is Sweet KDE and the wallpaper is from this post by greekie-via-linux
So now finally KDE Plasma works good for me, without all the crashing. And I'm slowly becoming a fan. It's very customizable, KDE provides a traditional desktop layout by default (which i prefer) but so customizable that you can turn it into almost anything you like. It's defaults might borrow from the windows 95 to 7 desktop paradigm, but Windows never gave users this much control.
It's pretty looking, it has all the eye candy effects and animations you want, but not too heavy on the ram useage (the performance is actually comparable to xfce) , and you can turn the effects off thanks to the aforementioned customizability. And it provides all the programs you need for a fully featured desktop environment, everything from basic stuff like a terminal emulator and file browser to a GUI package manager that supports basically all packaging formats. Neither mate or xfce has the latter, for example, when I ran debian with xfce i had to manage my flatpaks through the terminal.
Maybe even too many programs. KDE makes a lot of programs, and i'll probably never switch from mozilla firefox and thunderbird to kmail, falkon or konqueror. Though to be fair, KDE does develop a lot of programs that are first-rate in the linux world, practically without competition. And i personally find KDE connect to be extremely useful. It syncs your android phone with your desktop or laptop computer and it's awesome. Once I learned how to allow it through my firewall, I can see my SMS messages on my computer and type them with an actual keyboard on my computer, it's great. And It works on other desktop environments and even on windows.
#my post#linux#debian#kde plasma#this is just me rambling so i won't bother to explain what x11 or wayland or a flatpak is#kde plasma is just good you all#debian good too#and even if you don't use linux or use another DE do try out kde connect

Scene from my MK OC's fiction chapter after a harsh battle with the revenants.
Livia : Shao...don't doubt yourself. You are a strong man. You are brave my emperor. No man can endure that much pain after a hard battle like you.
Shao Kahn : How can I not doubt myself? I caused so much pain to others in the past just to be a konqueror. And now I feel how painful it was. I was blinded by power.
Livia : I know you did. Admitting your bad deeds is the greatest bravery. Evil can be controled and guided to change. *puts my hand on his chest right to his heart* I'm proud of you, Shao Kahn. I am glad to be your future wife. I love you the way you are. With bad and good parts.
Shao Kahn : *smiles softly* Only with your wisdom and guidance I can control it. You opened my eyes Livia. *holds her hand gently*
Then they share a long and gentle kiss full of love and tenderness.

Introduction post
My full title is "Konqi the Konqueror" but most of my pals call me Konqi!
I'm a robot dragon-kid living in KDE Valley. I love to go on adventures and explore the world beyond my village! I have a knack for building things, but I break stuff occasionally too.
Info
This is a fan account; I am not affiliated with KDE. All opinions, thoughts, and dumb jokes are my own.
I don't know if I'm gonna roleplay on here, but do be aware that Konqi is canonically a child.
Konqi's modern design is by Tyson Tan. "Konqi Drip" artwork (my current profile picture) was created by DeterminedTorres. The flag background was added by me :3c
About the blog author
My name's Theo! I made this blog because I saw all the other "[Linux Related Thing]-official" blogs and thought I'd join in. I wanted a spot to talk about computers, Linux, Krita, and whatever other tech stuff I like. My main blog (which is only partially-organized) is @theonimo .

I love that over the years, Shang Tsung remained the most villain ever in mk
Like, Shao gets the looks, he is the big bad Konqueror, the brute force one, but Shang is just so specially hateable and so awful every time. He’s special. And it’s so right and so fair to him, as he is the first
He got to be absolutely evil to his own self in mk1. I think he managed to officially get everyone in the game to hate him forever now

Breaking Teeth
"By the will of Master Shang Tsung, Lord of All. Weaver of Fate. Konqueror of the Strong. Inevitability himself command you to yield, Tarkatan."
Frost, Shang Tsung's lieutenant among the Divine Kombatants and Grandmaster of the Lin Kuei, commanded. Clad in the ice-black gi of her clan and armour refined and brutally beautiful to her heritage, The Cyromancer stood with her retinue of personal clan warriors that were a fraction from the Tarkatan horde untamed after the utter humiliation of the Kahn in the Battle of the Blood Fields.
His strangehold is slipping and the Keeper of Time was taking personal enjoyment out of it. All Shang Tsung waited was the perfect moment in his entertainment of the cosmos. For now, he continued to allow his minions to fight and feed him; whether by the souls of the enemies or their own.
Frost sneered under her mask, identifying the leader of these needle-mouthed mutants by his larger frame across the field to the barbaric keep lined of walls of spikes and stuffed corpses, armored with a white gi. This one was called 'Baraka' by the reports. His grimacing maw twitched before snarling out, "Surrender is not of Tarkatan ways, Earthrealmer! And you will learn that mercy is likewise! The Kahn may not be worthy of us, but we are now unrestrained from feasting on all before us! In a way, we thank you and your masters."
She had only one.
"You will feed more if you submit to the Lord of Time, fight and you will feed him!" She warned. Baraka looked side to side, twisting his face into a ugly smile while the others cackles and snarled. Uncaring of such a threat. Not yet to comprehend on it. They rarely do. "He must have a jaw of our caliber, no matter - by the time he do, we will be tasting your flesh."
"Very well." The Lin Kuei Grandmaster lifted her hand, the vapors of her sublime kold power crackling and squeezed.
From over the ridge, there was a earthquaking clap of power. The Outworlders were immediately alarmed to first, the quake and the coming whistle. "Up there!" A Tarkatan cried out, pointing to see the falling comet of refined metal and impacted power.
Baraka moved fast enough before the sheer force of the artillery shell smashed through the front wall and gate into a shower of debris and charred mutants. Frost almost snorted as she led the way towards the destroyed bridge that seperated them to the butchered fort-city of Lei Chen.
By the pulling moisture of Outworld's arid landscape, Frost collected her power and thrusted outward. The stream of sub-zero ice gripped on the edge of the bridge and reached out into a growing slab to the inferno'd entrance. Naturally, the moment it seemed secure, the first wave of the garrison charged with no fear but the bloodlust burning into their souls.
Frost did not allow her warriors to step out first. With a snap of her toned arms, she cried out with a clawed gesture. Whilst a number, in their eagerness, tripped and fell off the ice bridge. The others found themselves impale by sudden stalagmites through feet and chests. By the twist of her clasped fist, the Grandmaster slammed it into her palm and the impaled exploded into gory powder of flash-frozen remnants.
Through the blowing ice-screen, she led the way with the powdered snow crunching under her clawed boots.
At her shoulders, Squall and Tundra - fellow Cyromancers of blood - strode with their eyes glaring at the city's opposition. Another thump of power before a couple more artillery spell-shells smashed into the back of the city and closer.
"Enough." Squall commanded through his ear-piece, already ill-mooded to be having the Earthrealm Imperial Forces adding in this simple mission. To share the glory with those war-dogs were already a stain to the Lin Kuei to him, no telling how the Grandmaster felt on it.
As long as the Master's will is done, then they may share under the kold light.

I would recommend Signal, Element (Matrix) and SimpleX for this.
Briar, Session, and Threema are also great, but have one or two issues which may be, well, issues.
Larger platforms, such as Discord, WhatsApp, FB Messenger, Snapchat, and WeChat, should be considered to be backdoored. SMS and RCS are out of the question entirely. I do not know how secure iMessage is.
Also, use a secure and trustworthy VPN. My recommendations are Mullvad, Proton, Riseup, Windscribe, and IVPN.
Tor is also a good option, though many websites' DDoS protection will block you if you use this.
I would not recommend more popular VPNs, such as Nord, Surfshark, and that weird offbrand one you probably have somewhere. They are proprietary, and almost always log your activity.
The VPN should be coupled with a trustworthy browser, such as Firefox, Librewolf, Tor Browser, Mullvad Browser, Brave, or some other open-source browser (like Konqueror or Epiphany or whatever).
Do not use Chrome, Opera, Yandex, or Maxthon, as they log your activity.
Likewise, do not use Google, Bing, or Yahoo!. Brave Search, DuckDuckGo, Startpage, Whoogle, and SearXNG are infinitely more private, and tend to give better results anyway.
Finally, I would recommend not using Windows or Chrome OS, as the former often contains backdoors and both of them (you guessed it) log your activity. I would personally recommend using a Linux distribution (such as Linux Mint) and enabling disk encryption during installation. This one's a little more advanced, though.
Alternatively, create a Tails USB and use that for your secret activity.
Finally, I'd recommend checking out Techlore and Privacy Guides for further advice.
Hope you find this helpful!
Please reblog for visibility.
Anyway American trans friends, now's the time to put "be gay do crime" into practice and the first step is to get onto secure communication channels so you're not discussing details of what you're doing and how on the public internet.

Im sorry nrs is fucking over your faves, ships, making the girls wack looking and dryer than a popeyes biscuit (srsly am i the only queer person who thinks their character models look like ugly rule 34 p*rn? Do you use just one browser?
Not me!
Brave and Yandex, all the time. Firefox and LibreWolf, every day but less often. Opera and Chrome, it's variable. Edge, Tor and Waterfox, rarely. Konqueror, very rarely.

So the history is a little bit more complex, in the way that his history is generally are.
To start with your head, Internet Explorer, or Netscape. There were other browsers which Netscape was based on, but generally speaking once things had settled down it was Internet explorer or Netscape..
Opera was around, but generally nobody really used it and it was pretending to be Netscape.
Netscape Navigator wanted to do everything. It wanted to be your web browser and your email client.
Which these days is a whole bunch of so what?
But back in the days when computers were running on single digits of megabytes, it was considered very bloated and slow.
Internet explorer three for example was actually a lot faster and slimmed down.
Then in the early 2000s, because Netscape becomes so bloated, a new browser came out. It was called Phoenix.
Phoenix was very fast and use less memory. It was still based on Netscape’s code which intern was based on mosaic.
They also got into trouble with somebody else who claimed that the Phoenix name was interfering with their trademark, so they renamed it to Firebird. And more or less the exact same thing happened again so they called it Firefox.
Which is a type of red panda.
Overtime Firefox has become more bloated, but at the same time RAM and storage has expanded and plateaued.
Now, there was also the KDE based web browser Konqueror, which is a little bit of dark humour – first comes navigator, then explorer, and then conqueror…
Apple looked at the KDE open source browser, and did what they always do.
Namely, they grabbed the code renamed it to Safari, which is fully in keeping with the dark humour origins of its original name, and then pretended that they invented it. Sorry – “innovated it“.
However, because Apple had the money to poor development into the project, and because it was open source, the fork which was renamed to Web kit turned out to be a lot better than Internet Explorer or mosaic/Netscape based code.
So Google picked it up for it again into the chromium project, developed chrome and went from there.
Because the chromium browser project was pretty much able to do anything – HTML5 video, audio, supporting flash, advanced CSS, supporting DRM, plug-ins, and crucially, able to re a text without it looking junk as all get out…
… And it could also run Java and JavaScript very fast…
… A lot of the other browser project stopped trying to write their own code and just went with chromium. There was even a text editor called Atom built on the chromium project. Which is great if you don’t mind opening up a text editor that immediately eats 1/4 of your RAM.
But because everybody immediately moved to chromium because it had chrome and Apple funding the development of the base project, we ended up with the homogenised ecosystem.
Including Microsoft Edge, which is a really good browser apart from the normal Microsoft bullshit.
Firefox on the other hand, stuck to its own code base, which has got sections that are prehistoric. For example they used to be a well-known bug that Firefox had no intention of fixing – if you turned on certain graphics settings that were very useful in computer games, it would blur every webpage that Firefox opened.
And Firefox has overtime loaded itself down massively, plumping itself up to the point where it is now no longer the fast nimble web browser that it was supposed to be to replace Netscape.
Unfortunately, even chromium based browsers that are nominally open source are also memory hogs. And because chrome likes to assert dominance over the base code (which is still partially an Apple project) they keep messing around and sticking in things like this new manifest concept which is pretty much dead in the water but that’s not going to stop them, to prevent you using plug-ins to prevent adverts.
Because while Google was a search engine, they made their money from supplying Google ads which were far less horrifying and intrusive and a better user experience.
Which they immediately threw away as soon as they had market dominance.
So now the world is full of basically three types of browser:
Chromium based stuff which is possibly morally and technologically dodgy because it’s still being developed by an evil corporation which is obsessed with preventing people avoiding advertising.
Firefox, which is not good, it’s just less evil. The Firefox foundation is nominally a nonprofit however you will notice that they do like to slip in paid content into new installs, that you then have to dig around to turn off. And eventually they will indeed start explaining that they can’t support certain plug-ins because their biggest donators have a vested interest in not allowing and blocking.
And finally weird twiddly little projects that you’ve never heard of. These tend to be permanently in beta, and most often get to the point where the one or two people dealing with them just give up. Or they are based on an outdated paradigm, like everything should be piped through the command line and displayed as a plain text file.
Which at this point is starting to sound slightly attractive.
So what’s a girl to do?
Use multiple browsers. Go and turn on all of the security, and run DNS blockers and firewalls, and VPNs.
Stop reading webpages directly. Pipe them all through a local read later service, or Firefox pocket to strip out everything but the main article (which doesn’t always work).
Pick up all of your website reading through an RSS reader, and then open up the webpages in an RSS client that removes all of the adverts and re-passes the page as plain text.
If you are slightly horrified by the amount of effort that I’ve just described, congratulations you are a normal human being. You are basically doomed because the bar for entry is now so high that you have to spend months, or years learning the technology to open up a webpage without having your soul sucked out.
If you have strong opinions on which services should be used and which webpages should be blacklisted because they aren’t VPN compliant, hey welcome to the club! You are a terrible awful nerd, just like me.

The most popular browsers in different countries in 2012 and 2022.
