Avalon is full of ruins from the old culture. Ancient Avaloneans, while not force sensitive themselves, they were highly sensitive to it and its mysterious ways.

To them, the force is life itself. The force is said to control the tides, blow the wind, bring riches to the soil and take care of those in death. It whispers truths in one’s ear and walks in dreams.

Avaloneans built statues and temples to honor this harmony, many of which the young learners of the Guild would often find themselves exploring in their free time.

Of Darkness and Ash is a young adult fantasy/horror story about Harthin Ashthorne, who just wants to stay alive in a world that seems determined to hurt him at every opportunity. With the help of his found family, he just might. Little does he know, fate has more in store for him than just survival.

Prince of the Void is the first book in the series and features 13-year-old Harthin and his honorary dad as they try to stay out of King Tuldist clutches. However, things get much harder when another, unknown entity also sets their sights on Harthin.

Harthin Ashthorne is the demiromantic ace prince of Izania. Lost and confused by the cruelty of his parents, he clung to the one adult in his life who showed him kindness and respect. At age ten, he and Ren ran away from Tuldist. Harthin hopes that one day he'll be strong enough to protect others from the things he went through, but for now he would be content with just a week where nobody tried to kill or kidnap him.

Ren is an immortal sorcerer who served as Harthin's teacher before he rescued the boy from the daily abuse he received from his parents. Now, he protects Harthin and hopes to save others from Tuldist and Freya.

Korelia Snowbloom is a princess of Uharil who steps into the role of big sister for Harthin. She hopes to one day create a safe space for all people to live free of tyranny. This ambition leads her to butt heads with her mother often, but she's confident she'll get her way.

Alëa Marigold is another Uharilian princess and Harthin's best friend among the floratra, a race born from a mix of plants and magic. She has no desire to rule, instead hoping to become a tailor, the most coveted career in Uharil. Unknown to her, she has great magical importance.

Vys Scabiosa is one of Harthin's swordsmanship instructors. They yearn for the day their race can return to the world. Patiently, they wait for Korelia to take the throne, who they believe will lead Uharil into a golden age of prosperity and coexistence with humans.

Syvis Pine is the queen of Uharil. She carries on the strict closed border policy laid out by her predecessor to protect their people from Tuldist, but to repay a debt Uharil owes to an ancestor of Harthin, she allowed him andRen to live there for as long as is they both need.

14-year-old Adsyne is Tuldist's Scarlet Hand, an assassin who specializes in "accidental" deaths. Too terrified to act against Tuldist openly, Adsyne opposes the king in what small ways he can, hopeful that one day he'll have the skill to kill the tyrant.

Tuldist Ashthorne is the king of Izania. He's ruled for millennia, striking fear into the hearts of people even as ancient and powerful as Ren. However, he recently discovered he is slowly dying. To preserve his legacy, he had an heir, who he seeks to reclaim, no matter the cost.

Soooo last session we left of right when me met Nefarious, our beloved blue tiefling crime lord boi, the man we were sent to in regards of a missing ally to one of the other npcs. This session is the first we hear him speak and Korelia, who we learn to be his wife was so happy to see him but he didn’t seem to recognize her. She got upset and after further inquiry and denial we noticed he looked shifty af. He kept looking around the room and his eyes settle just under the chandeliers. Zachriel used primeval awareness and discovered there was a powerful fey presence here. He tried to get korelia to calm down (subtly) and she left but not before slapping her husband in the face (he took it). Outside Zachriel tried to let her know what he saw but as he was explaining her hand started to fade??? Like her hand started to go transparent and spread up her arm. After freaking out, he used protection from evil and good and the affect seemed to stall but by the time we went back to Nefarious like wtf it was starting to hurt her I think. For his part he freaked out and I think he tried sending word to The wolf of Amaro (our current employer and one of his contacts in the crime organization). I’m not sure if that went through and this part was a little confusing to follow but he p much told Korelia forlornly, “if only you could have stayed away” before a blue light started to pulse on his chest and his eyes went white. Behind/above him a figure began to appearate. They were tall, 8” with along white gown, edged with feathers, long slender neck, entirely black eyes and a face of sharp features reminiscent of a bird’s. It was a fucking ARCHFEY. My ranger’s lv 4 ass was panicking omg. I think Korelia insulted her a bit but she also wanted to play a really fun game! She puppeted Nefarious’s body around and made him fight us. Long story short it wasn’t long before Korelia begged her to stop promising something, anything in return so long as she left her husband and her friends alone. The archfey was amused by that request and said since she couldn’t think of what to offer now, she’d choose for her THEN LEFT.

Good thing: we got her husband and he didn’t die and we didn’t die and he still loves her very much!

Bad thing: Our precious tiefling Druid owes a favor to an archfey and the price could be ANYTHING.

Anyway, we leveled up to lv5 that evening and she took a level in warlock. IM NOT SCARED NOPE

“Yes, it is,” the woman fondly straightened the boy's hat. “Shoto just started first grade today, so we decided to come out and celebrate together.”

“The school is so close that we often get students and their families in here after school,” Shota picked up his tray to leave.

“I'm glad to hear that,” the woman smiled again. “I wasn't sure where to pick Shoto up from after school, it can be so crowded at the gates.”

“Well, you are always welcome here,” Shota offered. He knew how many cars and people crowded around the school as the students were leaving; it was hard to find anyone in all the bustle.

“Thank you. I'm Rei and this is Shoto, you might be seeing us more often.”

University student Aizawa works in a coffee shop with his friends, he does not expect the little boy who starts increasingly visiting their café to so thoroughly root himself in his heart and life.
