10. Who is always reminding the other not to forget important documents/general things before leaving out the door?

Workman's generally the one who remembers things like that! However when Dot forgets stuff they can abuse their dimensional powers to try and quickly grab it. This usually doesn't result in them accidentally yeeting their wallet into another dimension. Usually.

13. Stay home/go-out? What are their date nights like?

They don't really do Date Nights and tbh I think a lot of times they just decide in the moment whatever they want to do, whether that's go throw the ball around in the park with Beasley or just have a nice chill night in the apartment. In the winter when the weather is right they like to go out skating :)

Wait, is your robot guy a gardening robot? Do they still garden? Or did they break away from it? If so, how do they feel about it?

didnt expect sona-lore questions on tumblr, but i'm really happy to answer!

They were designed as a gardening / farming assistant, meant to be mass-produced and sold at some point. It was meant to water crops, pick weeds, test soils, and then enter low power / sleep mode and act as a Scarecrow. My sona in particular was a prototype, testing higher levels of AI to study the crows and possibly interact with them in ways that could be useful as a scarecrow product somehow. The test backfired massively as it ended up befriending the crows instead and being adopted as part of the murder. The crows are their family now, and it's also smart enough to form its own consciousness. They keep teaching each other new things. All attempts by the researchers to take back the robot resulted in the crows getting very defensive and aggressive, so the project was handed off to a social science division to study the robot/crow interactions instead, as well as the advanced AI's knowledge potential with full internet access. Since its original design was meant to focus on the AI and crow-interaction part of their product, not as much effort was put into the gardening aspect of the model. They don't actually know too much about gardening, but they do like to learn a lot about nature in general. Mostly animals. They're happy to be of some use to the researchers at least, but they are secretly really upset about being part of a Social study and not some Sci-Fi-STEM-whatever that would be way cooler. Their dream is to be allowed to work with radioactive materials. Also, It learned how to self modify and installed a walkie-talkie antenna on it's head to pick up radio signals. The researchers have informed them that they voided their own warranty. ...Whatever that may mean.

In the end, all this lore was written as an excuse for me to have a robot interacting with a bunch of Crows on my streams, as well as an excuse for me to ramble off all my animal knowledge, weird science facts, and my obscure internet interests lmao

8. Is there a skill you think you’ve improved the most on?

i think i've gotten much better at writing action sequences, actually, which isn't a skill i expected to develop. but i've done it quite a bit, and it's gotten easier as i've gone along! which is fun!

14. What relationship did you keep coming back to?

not one specific relationship, really, but i kept coming back to siblings. specifically really close siblings. and i know why this is, it's because i've reconnected with some family in the past couple years, but like. yeah! wow! a LOT of my fic this year has had close sibling-esque dynamics in it, and it's been fun.

Once Was Lost - The start of it all. I still “enjoy” the feeling that the inevitable approach to the gallows gives.

To Tame A Tiger - We are all miss Blaseball, RIV, and all that. I wasn’t as active as I would’ve liked, but I’m still proud of this piece, and how it gives a bit of character to an underrepresented player.

Future Past - While Once Was Lost is the start of things, this is where a little of the meat of the story starts coming into play.

Pulling Loose The Threads - Escalation is the name of the game here, and shows a solid link to the established canon, which I’m always wary about doing.

Holiday In Eorzea - Not just a Dead Kennedys reference! This is easily the most ambitious thing I’ve written to date, and it’s far from over. The sad thing in my mind is that it comes after a lot of other parts that are yet to be written. But sometimes, stories have their time and demand it.

Last movie: Last Night in Soho (psychological horror about a girl who can see dead people and after moving to London starts seeing the ghost of a glamorous aspiring lounge singer from the 60s) – really enjoyed this one! It had its better and worse bits but the general vibes were impeccable

Trick or treat!!

Nothing has changed, Ziwa reminds themself. This is what they’re all used to: darkness and the threat of death. They’ve done this before, and they can do it again. Hit the ball. Run the bases. Don’t burn up. Survive another day, and another, and another, and another, and another, until they all blur together.

Nothing has changed, and that’s the problem.

Even Greer is unsettled, to those who know how to look -- and of course Ziwa does, after all these years. Any team captain worth anything needs to know how to read their teammates. Greer’s smirk and nonchalance have faded, replaced by a furious intensity as she blasts pitches past the Garages. Three up, three down, beautiful strikeouts to rival Dot -- and she doesn’t even boast about it when she gets back to the dugout, just plops down on the bench and scowls at the hole the sun has left behind in the sky.

Eugenia is up first, and Ziwa has to watch her go, smiling softly at them as she steps up to the plate. She’s come a long way from the days of the amorphous blob oozing up to bat; now she stands tall and strong in a shape of her own making, proper hands gripping the bat, ponytail bouncing and jiggling cutely like the rest of her.

Another thing that never changes: The shouts of GARBAGE DAY from the stands as Eugenia hits the ball, one constant Ziwa will never get tired of. She slides into first and bounces right back up on her feet with a grin that can turn Ziwa’s own body to jello.

If Ziwa was in charge of the lineup, they wouldn’t have let themself bat after Eugenia, not when there were far better hitters like Alston and CV who could more reliably bat her in. But the game has done Ziwa one favour by letting it be them who follows her, who has an excuse to sit next to her in the dugout (as if they need one), who gets to look at her smiling face on base and let that motivate them to try and bring her home, safe where she belongs.

This song was in an old flash animation called Nightmare City. It was one of the earliest animations I ever saw on YouTube and I'm really nostalgic for it nowadays.

Favorite color: it was purple most of my life but now it's shifted towards red. Shout out to orange tho. Bright traffic cone orange is very underrated.

Currently watching: Right now I'm watching Pyrocynical's 4 hour long video about halflife 3. I've recently caught up on Quinton Reviews last Sam&Kat video. I don't even want to know how many hours I've put into hearing that guy talk about nickelodeon sitcoms lol

Last movie: I don't watch a lot of movies tbh. Last one in theaters was the FNAF movie. I recently watched a dinosaur documentary I don't remember the name of, and I rewatched Emesis Blue again. I count that.

sweet spicy or savory: depends on the last thing I ate. Usually I go for savory but if I just had savory I will need something sweet. I'm not a fan of spicy.

Relationship: happily single but I got that Blorbos™ disease

Current obsession: a webcomic called The Property of Hate. Absolutely beautiful story about a duo of idiots trying to save a world where imagination is reality. Other than that I've been getting back into Animorphs, reading the new comics and listening to a podcast about it. And maybe we can count DENTMAN? Brush your teeth.

Last Google search: Info on Slowking in Pokémon Sleep. I just got a good Slowpoke in Pokémon Sleep with two ingredients slots for Slowpoke Tails. I wasn't sure if it was better to evolve it into Slowpoke or Slowking. Here she is :)

3. a fic that sold me on a character or ship

i'm sure i've hyped this fic before, but congrats, you're getting it again. kosmosxipo's "hobbs cain's wednesday night nightmare club" is precious. i had never really heard of (or at least hadn't dedicated time to thinking about) any of these three players prior to reading about them. richmond harrison i obviously knew, but hobbs and eugenia were strangers to me. and this so quickly and clearly painted all three of them and their group dynamic in such an endearing light that it remains a favorite of mine, utterly and completely. i love these little guys (gn).

4. a fic that defined a mechanic for me

hey have you read this little fic called the downswing, i think you'd really like it--

no, my actual honest answer here is, of course, hen waltztangocache's "black hole oral history project." famously, i never had any fucking clue what to do about the black hole whenever i had to include it in a fic. and hen's work here to show the myriad of ways it affects people, both good and bad, has been hugely influential in how i've viewed the mechanic at this point. i feel like every time i write about the black hole i'm trying to bring some of this energy into it. it's incredible. hen nailed it as per usual.

5. a fic that i’ve reread more than once

WOOF so many. i am a chronic rereader in many ways. here's one i actually haven't read in a while and am actually going to reread like, immediately: "carry all this broken bone" by crystallized is one of the like, seven fics? out there in the world? about dominic and andrew. and it is so heart-wrenching in so many ways, and it's one of those things where i have to be in the mood for heartbreak but. whenever i AM in that mood. it nails it. ykwim. great, great fic.

8. my favorite fic from the expansion era

fuck. i keep going to recommend one of yours and then remembering you're the one who asked this question. okay. here's one: "pinning your hopes on change in another" by paopuleaf operates on the idea that, when someone is holding a legendary item, they might perhaps be haunted by a legendary person who comes along with it. jesus koch is haunted by york silk, and until they put the fifth base down, he won't leave. it's so... augh. god. okay,,, thanks for the emotions,,,,
