HEYYYY GANG! IT'S TIME FOR MORE PUITS D'AMOUR!

In this chapter, Eimi visits the Izumi townhome for the first time, and emotions are high as she and Koushiro try to work out their class differences and come to an understanding. Here's a wee lil sneak peek:

Koushiro paced the study in the Izumi townhome, twirling a rocks drinking glass full of rum and ice.  It contained more alcohol than he normally drank in the span of weeks.  Koushiro's vices included working too much and sleeping too little, but he didn’t abuse substances, unless you counted tea. 

But desperate times, as they say. 

The ice clinked as he drank, and a bead of condensation splattered to the wooden floor.  Koushiro bared his teeth and hissed at the bracing sting of alcohol against his inexperienced esophagus.

I also made a tour of the Izumi townhome using The Sims 4! I have such a clear idea of what the townhome looks like, I really wanted to share it with you! There is also a tour of Cafe du Ciel!

Have you made OC children of Eimi & Koushiro? Can you tell us about them if you have?

I've been sitting on this ask for a few days now, mostly because I genuinely can't believe someone out there is interested in my OCs and my OC x canon nonsense, and I am absolutely floored and grateful and crying the happy tears! The other reason is that I do have plans for an adulthood sequel to Growing Up with You and Tri: Integrity Lens, and I'm not sure if I should spoil things like children. But on the other hand, it will take years for me to get to this story, and things that far off in the future can be fragile. Who knows what will come to pass?

So, I'm going to write a little bit about Eimi and Koushiro's future kiddos beneath the cut! If you'd rather wait and find out/avoid spoilers, please don't go any further!

Izumi Hotaru

Eimi and Koushiro's firstborn is the adorable daughter we see in the epilogue. I have posts about her here and here, if you're interested!

Hotaru has all of Koushiro's mental abilities, paired with confidence and Koushiro's guidance. In some ways, she ends up smarter than Koushiro, but in others... Well, frankly, she ends up with a better work/life balance, so she doesn't devote herself entirely to knowledge like Koushiro does. She also has a ton of hobbies/interests that she splits her attention between, such as violin.

Hotaru has solid social skills and great confidence, but she tends to go off on her own. I guess she's like Eimi in the sense that she is good with people, but she doesn't gravitate towards social stuff. She treats the world like a hands on, educational playground, and is always eagerly getting into things. She likes to interact with the world to see how it works, and tends to wander off on her own, lol!

Personality wise, she is polite like Koushiro, but also thoughtful and empathetic, like Eimi. Like, her politeness isn't a kind of mask- she's just mirroring her father's language, and she loosens up about it as she ages, but always remains a good-mannered bean. As a kid, at least, her greatest weakness is probably... You know, that she'd prefer to be doing her own thing to everyday stuff like school, homework, and school activities/social stuff. She can come off as standoffish because of this. She also, um, can get into trouble by doing absolutely wild shit, like taking apart the family computer or trying some kind of behavioral experiment on pets or, um. Her peers. Like, her brilliance is more powerful than her life experience, and she doesn't know what is too much/inappropriate yet. There's zero malice to it, but it requires guidance. Koushiro and Eimi have their hands overfull with her.

Hotaru looks exactly like Koushiro, except that she has Eimi's arched brow, and will someday have her body type.

Izumi Koutaro

Eimi and Koushiro's secondborn. He also looks exactly like Koushiro, with exceptions: he has Eimi's eyes and skintone, and he has russet hair (brownish red, a color between Eimi and Koushiro's hair colors).

Koutaro is a lover of life; he adores this world, the Digital World, and everyone in both. He is by far the most extroverted Izumi, and he loves doing and experiencing. He joins his older sister on her Science Excursions and Various Explorations, but he also likes to do more... I don't know, typical stuff for kids his age, like soccer and music clubs. He plays guitar and sings, and likes to do whatever his friends and loved ones are doing.

Koutaro almost has, like... More in his heart and mind than his body can hold? He's constantly trying to burn off energy (he has a desk with bike pedals), but also... Well, struggling to stay on task? Koutaro is either deeply, unfathomably focused (the Izumi skill lmao), or he's bouncing from thought to thought and struggling to follow one thing at a time. Talking to him can cause whiplash and confusion in the listener.

His intelligence is far above average, but he isn't a dramatic outlier like his sister and father. Koutaro is playful and heartfelt, someone with very little filter- which usually works out just fine, because of how damned sweet he is. I'm not really sure if he ends up quite popular because of his sweet nature, paired with his intelligence, outgoing nature, and his musical abilities, or if he's sort of... Seen as odd, because of how his brain jumps around and because of how... Idk, not traditionally masculine he is.

I haven't developed Hotaru and Koutaro much yet, but those are the ideas I have so far! They could easily change by the time I get to writing about them.

New Fanfic Launch!!!!

Infinite Possibilities

Here is the summary of my new fic :D

Infinite Possibilities will have three phases.  The first stars Eimi, the second stars Koushiro, and the third stars Hikari.  I commissioned the cover to look like a character select menu; each phase will have its own cover art with the lead front and center.

This story explores the realities, issues, and politics of digimon existing on earth, a concept I’ve been obsessed with for years.  It opens about a year and some change before Kizuna, and the events of that film will be covered, too- not so much the film itself as what comes after.

There are couples in this fic, but it isn’t a romance.  The one worth mentioning is Izumi Koushiro x Anami Eimi, as we do see them get closer and date, although that’s never the point or focus of the story.  There might be passing mentions of the two canon couples (Yamato x Sora and Ken x Miyako), and of other Chosen going on nonspecified dates, etc.

I’ve been planning this fic since 2020, and I think it’s ambitious and jam packed with interesting ideas!  How the world looks when digimon and humans come together is so interesting to me, and I’m so happy to share my ideas with you.  Thanks for being here!

The answer is: sort of? I have a playlist specifically for Izzy and Amy in Four Years. The relationship and characters vary across AUs, and the Izzy/Amy one is probably the most distinct (English dub personalities, trauma, disaster college students, etc).

PS: I have playlists for all of the Chosen and some of my fave ships! They are old and might not be what I would pick today, but I think they're worth a look! (Um, a lot of the song links are broken/removed, sorry D: But the song names and artists are there for Googling :D).

Ummm do you have 10 Headcannons for biyomon?

Ah, gosh, the 10 head canons prompt was a while ago (March 2018!)!  If you wanna check them out, there are links to them all at the bottom of Taichi’s here.

I’ll try to think of as many Piyomon head canons as I can below the cut!

Also, I am (somewhat regrettably) open to PG Sexy Time Head Canon requests for the Chosen, as seen here for Eimi, also regrettably.

-So I have no idea if this counts as a head canon, but one thing about Piyomon is just how... how endlessly kind she is.  Sora tends to be snappish when she’s under a lot of stress, and because of her position as an iemoto heiress/caretaker, she is... often... stressed.  Since Piyomon is always by her side, Piyomon... gets snapped at sometimes!  And Piyomon always, always responds with even more love, since she understands what Sora is going through.

Is anyone else tearing up?  What a precious and strong baby.

-Piyomon is exceptionally warm and open about her feelings, a relief against Sora, who tends to act like she’s always doing better than she is in an attempt to take care of others.

-So we’ve established that Piyomon is Warm Loving Good Strong BB, but!  Also!  If she thinks someone is hurting Sora in any way, shape, or form, SHE ATTAC.  She can be overzealous about protecting Sora from threats of any kind- and is sometimes totally misunderstanding a situation.

-Related, Piyomon is the mom friend of the digimon.  She will chide and nag and “be careful!” “remember to x!” “AGUMON THAT IS NOT YOUR FOOD!” “GABUMON THIS IS A VERY IMPORTANT TENNIS MATCH AND YOU WILL BEHAVE!” “YAMATO, YOU ARE MAKING SORA WORRY!!!!”

-Piyomon and Tailmon meeting up for the express purpose of gossiping/venting about, “I had to stop Agumon from stealing Hikari’s lunch again today!”  “How awful!  Taichi upset Sora again!”  “What did he do?!  I’ll tell him to fix it!”

-Piyomon is more interested in eating healthy than most digimon.  She loves Japanese food, but also fruits, salads, and grain salads.  She likes to assemble healthy salads for Sora while Sora is busy.  She also brings Sora lots of water.

-Piyomon loves to organize, clean, and make lists!  At first, she was just mirroring Sora, but she took to it maybe a little... too well?  Doing laundry is her favorite.

-Piyomon played a huge role in Sora’s wedding planning!  And!  WAS SO!  EXCITED!  She didn’t sit still once on Sora’s wedding day, because she was so excited and so happy and so busy helping.

-Piyomon continues to mediate between Sora and her mother as needed.  She tends to remain understanding of both sides, even when Sora is being too emotional.  Still, when Sora’s mom needs perspective, Piyomon doesn’t hesitate to say so.

-Sora makes clothing for digimon (inspired by Agumon’s wee bitty suit in the epilogue), and Piyomon is her model.

Could you do Koushiro x Eimi and Takeru x Hikari?

Oh man!  I accidentally read this as “Eimi and Takeru” and nearly had a panic attack, because oh my god.  Hahahaha, lord!  Thanks for the ask, more below the cut XD

Koushiro x Eimi

How did they they meet?

In the terms of Growing Up with You, which is the closest thing I have to a canon story, their fathers are coworkers and their mothers are friends.  They’ve always spent time together while their moms hung out.

In a more canon world where Koushiro finds a partner outside of the Chosen between 02 and the epilogue, I’d say they met in college or at work.

Who developed romantic feelings first?

Eimi

Who is their biggest “shipper?”

Kae (Kou’s Mama), Mimi

When did they have their first kiss and under what circumstances?

GUWY:  It’s this whole big thing where Tentomon makes Eimi promise to kiss Koushiro when they’re older because he’s afraid of Koushiro being lonely/unable to initiate romance.  They kiss on the Daikanransha because I am garbage.  It’s awkward.

“Canon”:  They’ve been in this weird not-dating-but-the-relationship-feels-different-from-their-other-ones-and-friends-are-asking-questions place for a while.  Eimi puzzles Koushiro with a question or data from her research, and he makes that ‘deeply thinking’ face, and it’s super cute and then she’s kissing him and oh.  

Who confessed their feelings first?

GUWY:  Eimi has been (platonically) proclaiming love for Koushiro since they were toddlers.  This makes things very confusing for Koushiro when they’re teens and he’s interested in her romantically.

“Canon”:  Eimi

What was their first official date?

GUWY:  Theme park

“Canon”:  A science museum, dinner out, coffee/dessert/music and conversation at Eimi’s apartment

How do they feel about double dates/group dates?

I think they both enjoy outings with friends, whether the friends are a couple or not.  But uh, emphasizing the date aspect might embarrass them? 

What do they do in their down time?

In private, they spend a lot of time physically close to each other but engaged in separate pursuits.  There’s also a lot of intellectual discussion and banter.

What was the first meeting of parents as an official couple like?

GUWY:  Complete and utter disaster, although the dinner didn’t start as a couple introduction at all.

“Canon”:  It doesn’t happen; Eimi has limited contact with her family.  She is, however, formally introduced to the Izumis on her own.  She is so nervous and eager to please and be liked that Kae and Masami fall for her, despite her bumbling.

What was their first fight over and how did they get past it?

GUWY:  Disagreement over whether Ken should be allowed into the Chosen, on top of a bunch of existing tension.  After avoiding the issue until it reaches a fever pitch, they talk it out.

“Canon”:  Eimi tries to be accommodating of Koushiro’s focus on work/learning/research, but she can’t help feeling neglected.  Koushiro eventually realizes that she’s withdrawing from him.  He panics and talks to her.  They put a lot of effort into communication going forward.  

Which one is more easily made jealous?

Eimi has poor self-confidence, and it sometimes manifests as jealousy and doubt.  I’d say she is more commonly jealous, but it’s rarely serious.  However, in the unlikely event that jealousy manages to sneak past Koushiro’s reasonable nature, it probably digs in deep.

What is their favourite thing to get to eat?

…They like to go to Kae’s and be fed, lol XD  Eimi is a strong cook, and Koushiro loves being fed by her.  Actually I’d say that Koushiro loves to be taken care of after being doted on by his mom and Eimi…  At least he’s properly grateful, lol XD

Who’s the cuddly one? What their favourite cuddling position?

Eimi, lol!  They aren’t physically affectionate in public.  However, they enjoy physical presence and tend to walk and sit close to each other.

At home/in private, Koushiro is more open to touch.  They cuddle in bed before falling asleep.  

Are they hand holders?

GUWY:  Yes, if reasonably assured that no one can see.

“Canon”:  They don’t hold hands often, but there are lots of little touches in private; Eimi touching his hair when she walks by and he’s seated, Koushiro brushing her shoulder or wrist.  

How long do they wait before sleeping together for the first time? 

GUWY:  There’s this whole thing where Koushiro wants to wait until they’re independent to have sex (there’s a lot of backstory), so I guess they’re together for 3-5 years beforehand?

“Canon”:  It takes a while.  They’re both inexperienced and hesitant to share themselves that way (not to mention that they’re awkward, lol!).  

What’s the circumstances?

GUWY:  They have sex when they move into their college apartment.  

“Canon”:  Eimi is the more comfortable and natural of the two regarding sex, and Koushiro is driven by curiosity and eagerness to experiment as much as desire and affection.  It’s intimidating and awkward at first, but they take a blind survey to find out what they both want to try and go from there, starting with whatever seems easiest.  Once they get going, things progress nicely.  

Who tops?

Again, I’m not sure what this means?  If it’s “who is more dominant in bed,” I’d say Koushiro most of the time.  If it’s literally “who penetrates whom”…  

Actually I’m sure he’d at least try it, for curiosity’s sake.

What’s the worst first they’ve ever gotten into?

Wait is this supposed be fight?  

I can imagine that Koushiro forgot about an event- some kind of recital or life event- and Eimi was heartbroken and withdrew and cried.  Koushiro gushes apologies, but they don’t change that he wasn’t there.

Alternatively, if they have kids, maybe Eimi snaps one day because Koushiro isn’t present enough as a father.  

It’s something like that, and the only way for him to atone is to change his habits regarding being available to his family.

Which one is more organized and prone to tidiness?

Eimi.  When he isn’t in crunch mode, Koushiro cleans up after himself, but he isn’t good about caring for the apartment in general.

Who proposes?

Koushiro.  At first, he is calm about it; it’s merely the next logical step in a strong partnership.  But when the moment of asking arrives, the emotions hit, and he’s a mess!

Do they have joined Bachelor/Bacheloette parties or separate?

They don’t want anything like that, but of course Taichi grabs Kou and Mimi grabs Eimi and the rest is history that no one remembers.  The parties are separate, but the general feeling is similar: booze, laughter, teasing, probably horrible advice from people who are already married, maybe lingerie and sex toys from Mimi.

Who is the best man/maid of honour? Any other groomsmen or bridesmaids?

It’s a very weird wedding, especially since both Koushiro and Eimi pick Taichi as their… whatever.  I’m not sure if Koushiro would pick Jyou to stand for him or Eimi would pick Hikari, or if they would just go “ehhhh” and not bother with best whatevers.

Big Ceremony or Small?

Eimi wants to elope, but Koushiro doesn’t want to marry without his parents in attendance.  They compromise with a small, intimate, no-fuss event.

Do they have a honeymoon? If so, where?  

Somewhere private, calm, and remote.  Maybe something like Bora Bora?

Do they have children? How many?

Well they would at least have one girl, I’m assuming, but no details for now XD

P and X for the fan fiction ask

P: Are you what George R. R. Martin would call an “architect” or a “gardener”? (How much do you plan in advance, versus letting the story unfold as you go?)

I used to be strictly a gardener.  In Nanowrimo terminology, we say “planner vs pantser.”  The best way to keep forward momentum is sometimes just... to write whatever the heck comes to mind!  I find that planning sometimes inhibits my creativity, but there is definitely something to be said for having a general idea of how things will go.  I’m trying to balance the two these days to achieve both direction and creativity, but it’s easier said than done.  

X: A character you enjoy making suffer.

Oh, all of them, obviously!  XD  There are exceptions, but most stories are driven by misery.  ‘Happy people in happy land’ usually isn’t very interesting.

I tend to give Koushiro, Taichi, and Eimi an especially hard time.  Dunno why I pick on Taichi so much, lol!  I notice that I’m kind of soft on Jyou?  Is that my imagination?
