Well, Maeko and Kugo took Kazu to an amusement park and they call that their first date, but with Ahmya, the three of them went out to a cute dinner and only got into one fight at the beach. A fan of Kugo's wouldn't leave him alone, and Ahmya was the one to size him up and try fighting him. It was kind of like watching a chihuahua scare off a much larger dog. Kugo didn't stop her, but it's what impressed Maeko most since their first meeting.

Kugo is the most likely to jump, just because he knows it freaks the fuck out of Maeko.

Maeko by default, only because Ahmya says very alarming things in passing, and Kugo often forgets key parts of the story and has to backtrack.

Maeko really only jokes with people she loves, so any amount of humor from her is a silent 'I love you.' She also gives love in the form of teaching skills or giving information, even if it's just gossip or how her day was.

Kugo is very protective of the people he loves. In general he likes to have his wives in his line of sight or even better, he likes to have physical contact. Usually holding their hand or an arm around their shoulder or waist.

Ahmya cooks as a love language. If Ahmya brings food, she's either trying to say she loves you, or trying to poison you. It's a toss up, but for her spouses, she just wants to let them know she loves them very much.

You, you, me gas station. What are we getting for dinner? Sushi of course!

In all seriousness, a weekend getaway is stressful to set up. Finding someone to babysit the kids, finding a place to go, and being able to either check in on the kids, or someone they all trust enough to handle things on their own is all difficult.

If they manage though, a cruise ship would be heaven for these three. A long weekend on the ocean is peaceful for Kugo, Ahmya enjoys the atmosphere and probably the alcohol, and Maeko can't get enough of the food.

57.Whose the serious one when grocery shopping and who likes to toss random things in the cart?

As much as you'd expect Kugo to be the one taking the lead here, it's actually Maeko. Ahmya is everywhere and she goes missing for a little, only to come back with her arms full of her favorite snacks and obscure ingredients that caught her eye. Kugo could eat his weight in seafood, and Maeko has to stop him from buying everything in the refrigerators and freezers. Maeko brought her list, and while she's willing to compromise on some things and grab a few new things to try, it's like herding cats with her spouses at a grocery store.

2.What would they do if the other woke in a manic state after a nightmare?

Pepper was warned before they ever started sleeping in the same bed that this was a possibility for Mita. She was well prepared with a soft voice and welcoming arms. Mita's gotten better about calming down over the years, but sometimes it's not so easy. Her time as the four-eyed creature is not as common of a nightmare topic these days, and while losing Vander hurt, in the last ten years, she's been coping with it as well as she can be.

Now her nightmares are about Ekko, Sketch, Scar, or even Pepper being hurt. But Pepper is always ready to listen and care for Mita. There's a certain softness to Pepper that very few people get to see.

Pepper also has nightmares, but Mita has learned that it's better to give a comforting touch before saying anything. The sense brings Pepper back to reality and it takes very little time for her to hide herself in Mita's hold. Her nightmares tend to come from times she felt weak and scared, so having someone there to help her feel protected is valuable to her. She usually doesn't talk about it, but that's because it's usually the same every time. She'll fall back to sleep resting on Mita's chest.

They wouldn't come up with the idea themselves, that's for sure. While Mita and Pepper are not the type to build a pillow fort, Ekko and Sketch are, even well into their adulthood. If they're invited, Mita and Pepper will join their kids in their pillow fort journey.

Both Mita and Pepper are pretty good being independent, but if they haven't seen each other in a second for reasons outside their control, it's bound to make fuses short.

Once upon a time Devo gave Mita a crash course on a few stars and how to spot some cool stuff in the night sky. Mita absolutely loves pointing them out to Pepper now.

Occasionally, when Mita is asleep, she'll accidentally reduce Pepper to a convenient teddy bear. The amount of times that Pepper has woken up with Mita hugging her for dear life should be alarming, but Pepper just finds it endearing.

I think I've mentioned before that Mita can't cook, but Pepper has some food that can knock her out in five minutes. If Mita were to come home to Pepper having some food for her, it would be a slice of heaven. Pepper's getting whatever she wants for the next week.

2.What would they do if the other woke in a manic state after a nightmare?

When Devo wakes up from a nightmare in a manic state, she tends to have a habit of just leaving the room before she can get her bearings. Most of the time she'll come back after a few minutes and she'll just cuddle up to Viktor to get to sleep.

On really bad nights, she'll just sit on the couch, trying to deal with it alone. It doesn't take Viktor long to realize she's not in bed, and he'll go find her out there. By then, it's usually a lost cause for her to try getting back to sleep, so Viktor will just make some tea and stay with her until she's alright. Viktor also has plenty of distractions, but the easiest one is getting Devo on an astronomy rant, or they'll start working out some hextech problem together. Admittedly, Devo is lost on the engineering part of it, but she has some occasional insight.

Viktor is less prone to nightmares, but it's not like he's never had them. Growing up in the undercity in general is going to have some lasting effects on one's sleep schedule. A common visions of his nightmares are his disease taking his life and leaving Devo and Jayce alone and occasionally Rio. He knows he shouldn't compare trauma, but he doesn't feel like he's allowed to complain to Devo about it when he knows she's seen much worse days than he has.

Devo shuts that train of thought down before it leaves the station. She knows he's comforted by touch, and talking it out helps him get back to sleep. Devo feels like he has more than enough to be scared of, and that he handles it better than she ever could. Viktor usually falls asleep again in her arms.

While Devo and Viktor both have some level of disdain for thunder and lightning, heavy rain can be appreciated by them. It means Devo has to take a night off anyway, and usually Viktor comes home early on rainy days, but this is usually the cause of a very cozy night in.

I know it doesn't sound super romantic, but both of them are pretty good on their own, and sometimes it's even preferable. That doesn't mean they hate being around each other, but both of them are very passionate about their work.

When most people mention cloud watching or star gazing, they mean it as just a relaxing activity that isn't usually supposed to have a function.

But Devo is an astronomer so of course she's going to take this very seriously. But remember how I said she'd often hang around the Hextech lab just to keep Viktor company without really doing anything together? Well, Viktor does that too, but the logistics of stargazing make it possible for him to participate with her. She'll ramble about what she's doing and observing, and she'll also show Viktor and explain in detail what he's looking at.

I don't know if I'd say it's relaxing, but it's more like a date that's more focused on Devo.

I understand the urge for writers to say Viktor is a warm bedmate. However I fully believe that this man is made of actual ice. Devo is a furnace, and it's always Viktor reaching out for her when he's sleeping

Not that she intends to steal things, she just keeps picking shit up because it looks interesting and she forgets that she's holding it. She also gets very brave and will climb anywhere that doesn't have barbed wire protection. The amount of times that Steve and Eddie have found her in a tree or on a roof has got to mean something.

Rosie is the best driver in the sense that her skills are unmatched, not necessarily in the sense that she follows traffic laws. She has active methods and plans that go into effect the second she sees police lights behind her, and she hasn't gotten a ticket for anything in the last five years despite being a menace to cops on traffic duty. You choose her as your getaway driver, not if you want your son to get to school on time. Unless you're ok with her teaching him a thing or two about disrespecting law enforcement.

Steve is the most serious, Eddie is the least serious. Viola and Rosie fall somewhere between them.

Steve brought a list and will grab a few things for everyone to try. Viola has very specific tastes, but her autism makes it fun for everyone to see how she reacts to certain new things. Rosie doesn't bring a list, and will forget half the shit she needed and she'll also grab a few extra things that catch her interest. Eddie should never go to a grocery store alone if you actually need something. Eddie will come back with so much junk food, but this also means he's the perfect person to send for late night snack runs.

Everybody wants to cuddle Rosie. Steve is a close second, but Rosie just has a certain softness that's like crack to everyone else. The bed situation for them is usually a pairing up situation, but they'll switch around depending on how they're feeling that night. They have been known to fight about who gets to cuddle Rosie, and she'll usually have to break it up by choosing someone based on a rotating schedule she keeps in mind. Any time they fight, she'll just choose the next person in the rotation.

Viola - She watches those god awful animes from the early 2000s because she thinks they're so bad that they loop back around to being funny. Something about a terrible reverse harem can be very entertaining.

Eddie - You can't tell me this man did not read Twilight and you especially can't tell me he didn't enjoy it to a certain degree. He does rant about how awful the majority of it is, but there are some things he defends to a little too much to be considered normal. Stuff like the sparkling, seems to have resonated with him in a strange way.

Rosie - Consider that she wouldn't watch old cancelled youtubers, but she would watch those 1-2 hour long video essays that deep dive the whole story. She never even vaguely liked prank channels, but she will watch jaubry go into extreme detail on the rise and fall of the daddy-o-five channel.

Steve - Even in a modern!au, Steve can't get enough of dramatic and/or romantic movies. Like, he knows Heathers is supposed to be a satire on the old high school romance trope, but it's a damn good story, and he wouldn't ever date someone like JD, but he can admit out loud the social outcast is a hot look while he's avoiding eye contact with Eddie.

ALRIGHT. I have a question for all you Kugo Sakamata/Gang Orca lovers.

I'm almost finished writing a six-chapter, fanfiction series involving Gang Orca and of course, the lovely reader with hints of subtle romance.

This story revolves around the reader, a journalist, and child of Taneo Tokuda, Editor-in-Chief of Juzo News. As a result of a mishap at the Hero League Baseball game, the reader publishes an article that damages Gang Orca's reputation. To fix this and clear his name, he contacts Juzo News to request an interview. Upon finding out that the reader and Taneo are related, Taneo gives the reader the chance to conduct the live interview, but things do not go according to plan, and Gang Orca begins to question the reader's desire to follow in their father's footsteps. After convincing the reader to interview him privately, things get even worse. The reader wonders if they want to continue following in their father's footsteps or if they were only chasing a ghost.

I haven't actually decided if I'll place Ahmya in What's Left Unsaid just yet. I likely won't have enough space to add a whole extra love story, but I would love to make her canon in my story, even if just briefly.

23. Your OCs are on a trip and there’s only one bed! What do they do?

Bro, these bitches stack. Kugo's got big enough tiddies to have a pillow for both of his wives. But when they wake up in the morning, Kugo has somehow been pushed to the opposite side of the bed, and Ahmya is wrapped around Maeko like a koala.

It's safe to say that they're not wasting any time arguing about this one.

25. Pick a physical attribute that they love about each other.

I think it's safe to say that Maeko's type is spots. Not that she has a specific habit of dating exclusively people with black and white spots, but somehow not one, but BOTH of the spouses she settles down with have some spots. But yea, she adores the patterns on both Kugo and Ahmya's skin.

Ahmya is a little more subtle when it comes to Maeko. She likes to play around with Maeko's quirk, because she likes to see her wife's eyes change colors. She finds it so cool, to the point where she'll tease Maeko into activating it, only to have her eyes turn purple. For Kugo, she's unapologetically obsessed with his hands. Big ass hands and he's not even vaguely bad with his fingers? That's just a weakness for her.

Kugo would never outright say exactly what physical attributes of his wives' he likes most. Because he knows, no matter what he says, he's a dead man. These two women will make it their personal mission to target his biases. However, he is secretly a thigh man, and he will take that to the grave.

15. What names are they saved as on each other’s phone?

Maeko: Ahmya = Babes. Kugo = Seafood

Ahmya: Maeko = Mommy. Kugo = Big Sakamata

Kugo: Maeko = Detective Wife. Ahmya = Little Sakamata

18. How are they like on a road trip together?

Kugo drives most of the time, and he is the best multitasker. He also keeps changing the radio station because he is very picky about songs. Ahmya fell asleep watching a movie after she ate all of the zebra cakes while he was driving.

Maeko is the best driver out of the three of them, but she can't multitask for shit. Radio is off, and while she won't stop anybody from carrying on a conversation, if she yells "shut up!" It's because she needs to focus for a brief moment, and they can't afford her losing her mind or else they find themselves wrapped around a tree.

16. What would they consider quality time?

Maeko just likes when people hang around her. They don't even need to be talking to her for her to consider it quality time. Like, Kugo and Ahmya might just come chill at her office while she works, and that's good enough for her.

Ahmya needs a little more attention, but her spouses are more than happy to give it to her. No shame in wanting some more engagement for quality time. Ahmya's love language is cooking, so she likes making meals for her spouses and having conversations with them. Also compliments about her food are the fastest way to make her light up.

Kugo is a touchstarved motherfucker (pun intended). A hug goes a long way with him, but any chance he can get to either have a spouse cuddling up to him or laying on him is good quality time for him. While they're cuddled up, conversations are appreciated, but so is comfortable silence. It doesn't matter if they're on him and focusing on something else or if he has their full attention.

Pepper, Silco

25. Pick a physical attribute that they love about each other.

I don't think it's a surprise that Pepper loves his hands. He touches everything like it's made of gold, but she also knows the strength they hold. She also loves his nose, but she won't elaborate on that one.

Silco doesn't know exactly what he'd say if he had to pick one, but he learned some things about himself the first time she wore a holster for her revolver that had both a belt and a thigh strap.

3. It’s late at night and your characters want food, what do they order/find in the fridge?

Pepper will go out and find some 24 hour take out place with the most unhealthy food she can find. Anything fried all to hell and covered in some spicy sauces.

Silco made a habit of eating shredded cheese late at night when he was hungry. It's usually the easiest thing to take out of the ice box and finish off. If he's a little more hungry, he'll make some kind of sandwich and just go back to bed.

22. Do they ever share clothes?

One time, Pepper woke up before him, because Sevika was banging on the door, saying Finn was here and refusing to leave until he had a meeting with Silco. The man was knocked the fuck out from exhaustion, and definitely not waking up for love, money, or threat of death.

Pepper couldn't find her shirt, so she just borrowed Silco's vest to fix the problem herself. Suddenly, Finn wasn't as confident as he initially thought. Silco found them in his office, and Finn went quiet, only for Silco to say "No, please continue. Unless it wasn't important enough to have woken me up at some ungodly hour of the morning. And alone, no less."

He also tells Pepper that she should wear that number more often.

As for Silco, not much of Pepper's clothes will fit him. But she does have a sleep shirt that he has stolen on more than one occasion.

24. What do your characters think about marriage? Are they for or against it?

I don't think either of them have much of an opinion on it. Marriage in the undercity is more like partners in crime. Really, the closest thing to a marriage in Zaun is love plus turning down someone offering money or other prizes and lying to them to protect your own significant other. And Silco and Pepper do it very frequently for each other.

To be fair, in order for it to really mean something, it has to be more valuable than what they're already receiving. So someone offering Pepper a better job, or more money than she gets from Silco in exchange for betraying him would be a rare occurrence, and Silco can't even think of any offer that would be worth more than Pepper.

However, they get double marriage points, because when offers like that do come up, they'll take it, and then go tell the other so they can double cross the bastard together.

21. Who is better at games? Does the loser take it graciously?

Pepper and Sevika used to make a bag cheating at cards in various gambling establishments, but she had to learn to play very well in order to pull off these schemes. She can fuck Silco up in any card game. Board games are a fucking nightmare for her. She is a sore loser.

Silco takes game losses very graciously. He's good at not taking competition too seriously and he typically uses games to pass the time. Usually he plays with Jinx when she's not busy, or when they both need a distraction, but playing with Pepper is usually very entertaining, because it's the only time he's ever seen her get so flustered.

16. What would they consider quality time?

Pepper likes talking about things. Nothing and everything. Deep conversations or smalltalk. It's all quality to her.

Silco won't ever admit it, but he likes when Pepper comes up late at night, past closing and just distracts him with whatever. Sometimes it's a drink and conversation, other times she just wants to sit in his lap and just fall against his chest just so she can say she's happily not working.

Devoan, Viktor

25. Pick a physical attribute that they love about each other.

Devo can't explain it, or even come to a logical conclusion about it. But something about his shoulders is just very distracting. She can't tell if it's his posture, or how he expresses emotions with them, but it's something she can't seem to stop noticing.

Viktor has his own troubles. Devo has very long hair, and he's not sure he can say it's her hair he finds attractive, but she will often take small pauses to slide her hands behind her neck, and flip it out for some relief from the heat. But his favorite thing to see is when she's finally had enough of the annoyance of it, and she'll take a few moments to gather herself to tie it up. She has definitely noticed how he always watches when she does this.

20. What are they like when sharing a bed?

Devo is a furnace, and Viktor is usually very cold. He usually takes more blankets, and the two often wake up either very close to each other, or cuddling up like they planned this. However, Viktor's occasional habit of blanket hogging is perfect revenge for Devo's unfortunate habit of starfishing and taking up most of the space.

48. Do they get on well with each other’s family? Is family important to them?

Devo doesn't realize until quite a ways into their relationship that she actually knows Viktor's mother. Both of them having grown up in the undercity, they didn't have much attachment to the idea of marriage, but when Jayce brings it up, their knee-jerk reaction was to say there was no way in hell they had the money for a wedding.

Jayce reminds them, "Guys, we're making money off of the most profitable company in Piltover's history."

And they both just kind of click like "shit, we have the money for a wedding!" Only for them to think on it for a few seconds more Devo just shakes her head. "I don't really want to get married." And Viktor shrugs in agreement like they both just considered taking an early lunch.

Jayce is not only surprised, but almost offended. He convinces them to at least have some kind of party if they choose to move in together, so they do. Several people bring gifts, and have a few drinks. But they also get a gift with a note "I'm sorry I couldn't make it. I couldn't get the time off of work. I guess some metalsmiths just don't get what's really priceless, but I'd love it if you two could visit some time. With love, Leah."

Devo is very confused that the woman she used to sell pickpocketed goods to was giving a gift for her housewarming party. But Viktor takes the note saying "Leah would be my mother."

After some brief clarification, they do indeed realize that Viktor's mother, and Devo's only means of work as a child were one in the same. The gift she gave were two personally designed necklaces for the two of them. Leah seemed to understand that this was their social equivalent to getting married in Piltover, and understood the assignment. They visit her the next month and it turns out that many of the items that Devo procured that couldn't be used would go to Viktor for him to build various things.

As for Devo's family, she states that Grayson was as close to a mother as she's ever had. But Grayson and Viktor aren't permitted much time to meet under the circumstances of their connection to Devo.

However, Viktor does meet Mita, who is very much like Devo's aunt. It's easy to say he was a little intimidated by her. But Mita's only words in regards to her opinion of him and his relationship with Devo was "If I didn't like you, you'd be a lot more scared of me."

So he considered that he's getting along a little bit with Devo's family.

18. How are they like on a road trip together?

Absolute chaos. Modern AU! Devo and Viktor are a nightmare to everyone except each other. This is the car that you are next to for like four hours on the highway, their windows are rolled down and they're blasting some Allstar by Smashmouth… for four hours… on loop. And you actually think one of them is asleep somehow. Turns out it's just Devo trying to figure out what it takes to wake up Viktor after he passed out. It takes four hours of that and Devo carefully placing pennies on his face while she drives before he wakes.

Devo is a great driver, only because she knows there's illegal shit in there, and if they get pulled over, they're both doing 15.

Viktor is also a good driver. But he also isn't quite as cautious of other cars as Devo. Occasionally he'll pull some bullshit and she'll ask "was that legal?" Only for him to say "eh.. probably."

😅 What's a story or scene you've created that you're a smidge embarrassed exists?

I have an entire scene in They Called Her Mania, where Vega jokingly slut shames both Slayer and Mania by how long it took each of them to change their mind from wanting to kill the other, to wanting to sleep with the other.

That scene has since gone under some heavy editing, but I am embarrassed that scene left my fingers in the first place.

😈 Has there been a point in a story where you did something just to be playfully mean to your readers?

"You'd kill me?" Her voice was glitching as her mask modulator struggled against the previous damage.

"Only if you survive the fall."

Putting this at the end of a Least Sane Moments part 3 is probably my favorite cruelty in my writing.

But also in Devil of the Crossroads

The assignment should have had her back by sundown at the latest. It would have been more dangerous to hit the warehouses at night as Sevika had found weeks ago, his security was tightest after sundown.

"Silco." Pepper's voice warned. "Where is she?"

He didn't have an answer.

Uhh… I like to think that I write very compelling and likeable characters, even in antagonistic roles.

🍦 What's the sweetest fic you've created so far?

Without a doubt, Innocent Schemes and Guilty Consciences part 1 is the fluffiest thing I have ever written. I don't think that fic is going to stay very fluffy tho.

❌ What's a trope you will never write?

Emotional clinginess is by far the most annoying thing I keep seeing in a lot of fics. If it's something you like, then it's great that you found something for you, but I personally, absolutely hate seeing fics where the OC or the reader insert is just overly dependent.

Like, if you wanted to write a fic about Viktor, if your point is to write him in character, then he would not drop everything because his partner is pouting for attention. He would not thrive with a partner that constantly requires him to leave his passions at the door for them. Nobody should expect their partner to drop everything and give attention whenever it's convenient for them.

And I hate even more when the OC/reader insert acts like their partner owes them something in return for not dropping everything and giving them attention. I've been in enough relationships with emotionally clingy people to tell you that shit is draining, and I could never write that unless I was specifically trying to show a dysfunctional relationship.

🎨 How do you feel about fan art of your stories?

I literally love it so much, please make all the fanart, I will reblog it, and perhaps I can offer blog shout outs in fics, and even feature fanart (with permission and proper credit) in chapter updates themselves.

At this point, you can also send me short stories with my own OCs (just credit me) and I will reblog them. If I like it enough, and it's possible, I might even enjoy putting the short on my canon timeliness (with your permission and proper credit also).

📈 How many fics do you have?

I have a lot of fics (especially in my star wars phase) that never saw the light of posting. And as of now, I also have several fics in other places, that I have yet to post because they're sequels to fics that are already on my Masterlist, and I need to finish those stories before I start posting sequels and short stories and other fics.

I have 9 currently on my Masterlist, 3 more MHA fics that may never get posted, 1 Venom x OC fic that I barely have a concept for but still have something written, 9 unfinished Star Wars concepts including several space lesbians and other pairings, 1 other Doom fic that I actually already have 18k written for and I just haven't finished editing the first few chapters, and 2 sequels to my current Arcane fic lineup that both start a bit before or during Act II of Arcane, including a fic of a grown up Sketch, and Devo joining Viktor in a spiral out of Piltover's control.

😬 Which of your fics would you be most horrified for friends, family, or coworkers to stumble upon?

I suffer from a disease known as "No shame to the point that I openly talk about writing fanfiction in my real life."

However, that being said, there's a reason I have yet to post that second Doom fic. And it's because I'm not too sure how my friends (who know my tumblr) will react to knowing I wanna fuck a 10 ft tall, morally gray, robot. Like they probably already know, I'm just scare of the consequences of them knowing exactly in what detail.

💔 Is there a fic of yours that broke your heart?

Honestly, Least Sane Moments breaks my heart most of the time. I have the occasional moment in Fuck Around and Find Out where it just hurts, but Least Sane Moments is just a heartbreaking story the most put of all of my fics. At its core, it's a story of someone getting all the support the world can possibly afford them, and still struggling to accept and trust it because of how they've been treated.

🤩 Who is your favorite character to write?

Pepper very quickly became my favorite character to write when I realized just how much people liked to read her. Whip smart with a funny accent, and an attitude appears to have accidentally been the crabby patty formula for a very specific niche of OC content consumers, and I couldn't be happier about it.

I don't know how many of my followers know this, but I'm from Georgia. I've grown up around Southern accents, and I even struggle to keep mine down a lot of the time. Writing Pepper wasn't really a therapeutic experience, she's just a fun one. Like she doesn't have to be anything for me, she's just entertaining. And I think a lot of the reason her dialogue is so fun to write is because it comes naturally to me, and her narration is fun to write because it's usually what I'm thinking anyway, she just thinks of it quicker than I do.

My Hero Academia

What's Left Unsaid (from part 3)

Just by observing his face, something changed. He was ready for another plan, another attempt of some kind. Maeko would have to make this believable. Obviously the only way to convince Kugo, was just to make an honest attempt.

She took a deep breath and darted to his side. She attempted to kick his head but she was caught. And pinned again. That was a much shorter attempt than she would have liked.

"What was that about winning, Maeko?"

She really shouldn't have activated her quirk. She knew it was a mistake before she did it, but despite this not being anywhere near part of the plan, this was probably the clearest intent he's spoken with all morning.

The lights in the room turned a deep red that she hadn't seen in quite some time, and it took everything Maeko had to keep herself together. Breathing deeply, she made a slow and deliberate movement as her hand wandered up his shoulder and stayed on his chest. "So, it hasn't occurred to you that I might be exactly where I want to be?"

"I don't see why you would want to be here, seeing as you've lost again." Kugo replied.

"Really?" She asked. "You don't see why I might want to be pinned to the mats beneath you, at all?"

Maeko gently curled his shirt into her fist, ever so slightly making him lean closer. "Kugo, if you wanted to be on top, you just had to ask."

He was close enough that she could feel him tense for a second before relaxing. His guard was down.

In one swift movement, Maeko forced him up and rolled him to the side, successfully pinning him under her. Though 'pinning' was a loose term. Kugo was large enough that even sitting on top his stomach meant only one of her knees, on either side of him, could be touching the ground at a time, but Maeko was clearly getting her point across.

"Though, I'm not at all opposed to this view either." She gave a toothy smirk as she peered down at him. "And you're a lot heavier than you look." She noted how much force she had to exert just to get him to roll, even when his guard was down.

Kugo's hands went to her thighs, and it only took a small pull on his part to teeter her forward to where she had to hold her hands on either side of his head just to stop from smacking her forehead into his nose.

He didn't say anything, though there must have been a lot going through his head to be staring with such intensity. Maeko, for her part, stayed still, wrestling with her own thoughts as she waited, wide eyes, for him to make just one move. Or was this his way of trying to get her to make a decision?

If she were to make the move, what would she do? Kiss him? Right here, right now? Right before they were to supposedly make a public spectacle of their relationship? That didn't seem like a wise idea. Though, every second his hands stayed on her legs, she was all the more tempted to just abandon work.

Suddenly, there was a noise at the top of the stairs, which forced Maeko to get off Kugo and reorient herself in record time. "Good morning, Kazu!"

I don't think it's a secret that I'm a sucker for sexual tension in sparring scenes. Considering that I've written three different spars in three different fics and two out of three have been for sexual tension, I think it's safe to say this shit is my weakness.

Plus I just think this scene works very well for these two characters. Maeko is very smug, and I love writing her and Kugo in situations where they understand each other without needing to say much of anything. I love when I can make their actions speak louder than words, hence the title I chose for this series.

In Loving Memory (from part 1)

"It's not easy to calm down about this. It's been almost fifteen years since I've had to trust someone with the memory of me." She was going to start rambling if he let her keep going.

"It's ok. Don't worry about that yet. Now, tell me why again you don't trust me." He said.

"Because I never trust anyone. You're not different, you're not special. But as of a week ago, you are the only person on the planet that knows who I am." She explained.

"Alright, so we've established that you don't trust me any more than everyone else. Which is understandable. I met you a week ago." He followed along. "But since I do remember you, and we don't have a way to fix that beyond extreme violence, we need to figure something else out. You said there was no reason you should trust me. In the event of someone having memories of you, what would make you trust them with that information?'

Shizune thought for a second. "I need to know that person won't tell others about me. I need to be a complete secret."

"That's great, because I don't want to talk to anyone about you." He deadpanned.

"But how can I be sure that you won't be convinced by one of your friends to talk about me? How do I know that Yamada or Kayama can't ask the right question to get you to talk about me?"

"First, I'm an underground hero, just like you. If you don't want anyone to know about you, then nobody will know about you." He promised. "And second, I don't even want to tell them about myself, let alone make an effort to tell them about you."

"Fair enough…" She shrugged. "But I still don't know you. For all I know you could be lying about this."

"And for that, we'll have to trust each other." Shouta figured. "How about I give you a piece of information about me that I don't want people knowing?"

"You would do that?"

"I don't want to, but it's fair. I'd be essentially letting you hold me hostage." He explained. "If someone ends up knowing about you in any way that you haven't given them, then you have this information to do what you want with."

Shizune looked him up and down. "What makes you think I need something true to do that?"

"You don't, but this is supposed to be a gesture of trust."

"Oh yeah…." She remembered. "You do realize it'll have to be something genuinely secret. Something you would literally rather die than have other people know about."

"Which is the issue. I don't think there's anything I would have a problem with other people knowing."

Immediately Shizune lit up with a wicked smile across her face. His students should be glad he doesn't smile like that. "I bet I can find something."

"I will bet you can't." He deadpanned. "Not that I think your investigation skills are lacking, there's just nothing for you to find."

"More mysterious men than you have said that to me and been so. very. wrong." She chuckled, taking a step closer to him. He didn't like the sound of that, but if it meant she could find something that would make her less of a lunatic, then he would let her investigate.

"If you're that confident in yourself, then you have my permission to poke around in my life until you find something." Shouta allowed. "But I don't think you needed my permission in the first place."

"Eh, I don't stalk people unless I need to for work." She shrugged. "I'll see you around."

I promise I will update this eventually. I wanted to challenge myself with writing a character that was completely unhinged, yet still somewhat likeable. I don't know if I succeeded in this first part, but the next will be more detailed.

However, my biggest concern was actually being able to capture Shouta's energy correctly, and I made a post about it before this went up. I was so worried about writing him out of character, but in the end I was so proud of this scene, because I think I did a very good job capturing his apathy as well as his reasoning. It's unconventional, but I do love this pair, and I think Aizawa would end up accidentally falling in love with someone nobody would ask about as well as someone as wild as Shizune.

But what stood out the most in the picture was that Sir was smiling. More than likely laughing at something that was said as his attention was on Kiokuro.

"I know there aren't many photos of Mirai, because he didn't like appearing in front of cameras. He was always really camera shy." She said. "Even if you searched for years, you probably couldn't find a picture of him smiling. And since you of all people know what it was like to see him smile, I figured you deserved to have something to remember him like that."

Mirio was on the verge of tears, but was stopping himself from crying. "They couldn't even find a photo of him happy for the funeral." He remembered.

"That picture was taken at the celebration of him finally being able to open The Sir Nighteye Hero Agency." She offered the context. "Centipeder was actually the one that took the photo. He took it right after I gave Mirai my application to work under the Nighteye agency."

I knew early on in the concept of Shizune's character that I wanted her to be a third year teacher for some kind of investigation course. However, one of the perks of that would be her connection to the third year students that we see in canon. After working out the mechanics of her quirk, I realized she would have been a great fit for Sir Nighteye's strategy in his hero work. After all, he'd need someone to gather all that information for the Overhaul invasion, and in canon, he just says he has sources that can just tell him a lot about the compound. Might as well make Shizune one of those sources.

But I really liked writing this because one of my favorite things about writing OC stories in the space of canon, is that I can expand on the canon story in whatever way I want. I can give more nuance and depth to Mirio and Nighteye's friendship/mentorship, and I can write Mirio's grief in a way we don't really get to explore it in MHA, because Mirio isn't the main character.

Not to say that I can write it better than the creator, but yes I can, Mineta should die a painful death.

"You know as well as I do that Konstantine will not be so easy to convince." He said. "The only reasoning that Konstantine respects is military rank or status."

"What are you suggesting, Thrawn?" She finally broke.

"I can bring the situation to the attention of Grand Moff Tarkin, and at the very least, I can temporarily seize control of the occupation and give your people the place you need for your tradition or aid you in convincing Konstantine." He offered.

To say Ceka was taken aback by the offer was an understatement. It looked as though she had to physically stop herself from flinching when she finally processed exactly what Thrawn was suggesting. "Not even you would offer such a massive contribution without a promise of something in return."

She was sharp. "All I desire is the opportunity to study your Tribe's tradition for myself."

"You want an invitation." Ceka pieced together. "That's it?"

Thrawn nodded. "Your Tribe's tradition of keeping an oral history among its people instead of a written record makes it difficult for me to study the culture for myself. As you may have deduced, learning of arts and cultures foreign to my own is a passion of mine." He explained. "If I cannot study by my usual methods, I want to find an alternative. The way you explain it tells me the best way is to experience it for myself."

Ceka considered something for a minute, looking over his expression carefully. "That's really all you want?"

"Yes." He stated firmly. "Is that so difficult to believe?"

"A little." She agreed. "When you suggested coming to Shili with me, I was going to invite you anyway. It's not exactly a closed event."

Thrawn allowed himself to find the irony in that. "Give me a day. We can depart by tomorrow morning."

It is a generally accepted headcanon in the fandom that Thrawn joined the military to pay for his art history major. And when it comes to the most innocent of his motivations, writing his commitment to the study of art is the most fun. I don't think it's a stretch of the imagination to say that Thrawn would offer to use his rank to help someone in exchange for the opportunity to study some art.

As for between him and Ceka, I like the familiarity I get to write between them. This fic has a few time skips in it where there isn't really any plot, or romance happening, but the two of them are really only becoming more comfortable around each other in a system that was not designed to make them comfortable. And the way that Thrawn so shamelessly asks for an invitation is quite amusing to Ceka.

Doom

They Called Her Mania (from part 2)

"What the fuck did you do, Mania!?" 

"I was hoping power had been cut off to the facility, but I guess the old electric lines are still kicking in Peru." She laughed. "Stay tuned, we're about to have company!" 

"You're either insane or just stupid."

"My dude, I’m literally called ‘Mania!’ This one’s kinda on you."

His apparatus was fucked, so he couldn't have new guns teleported to him like he usually would. All he had was a semi-automatic rifle and this thing ate up ammo like a bitch. Not to mention he had to keep Mania alive, and take her orders to get the scanner out of here. 

The first wave ran in from the lower levels mostly imps, and a hell knight or two. Slayer took aim at the imps and managed to trim their numbers down by half. He could only take out one hell knight before noticing the level they came in on had a few imps and another hell knight barreling in. 

"Mania, you have incoming!" He called out. 

"Incoming!? Make them stop coming, I'm busy!" 

"I'm also a little busy at the moment!" 

"I don't have a weapon, dipshit!" She growled. 

"Then improvise!" 

Only a few seconds went by before there was a thunderous explosion from around where she was working. 

"The hell was that!?" 

"I fucking improvised! I've almost got it open, but the other fluctuating cell is gonna blow." She warned before another explosion sounded. 

The upper part of the room filled with smoke and he could hear Mania coughing. But the echo soon became shallow, telling him she was now inside the rig, trying to get the scanner out. 

"How's it going out there?" She asked. 

"Just perfect." He noted. "We just gotta hope nothing bigger shows up." 

There was a low screech from the upper level. The doorway was busted open and a Baron of Hell launched itself at the rig, clutching the side just above the Slayer. 

"Oh yeah, you just had to test it, didn't you?" She groaned. 

Slayer rolled his eyes, and scrambled up the side of the rig away from the baron to hopefully gather more ammo before it could attack. "You want me to knock on wood or something? Back in my day, shit was made out of wood!" 

"Back in your day? Jesus, how old are you!?" 

He loaded a new mag into the gun, looping around the curve to shoot down at the baron. "That's a surprisingly difficult question to answer!" 

The bullets did almost nothing against the baron and he was running out of them fast. 

The banter between these two basically wrote itself, and to this day, I don't think I've been able to capture this kind of back and forth between two characters in any of my fics. This is the product of two people that are forced to trust each other, realizing that they are actually a very good pair.

Banter is usually a challenge to write without just making it read like the characters actually hate each other, and this scene convinced me that I could do it. Not to mention, this is the first scene where I really lay down the groundwork for the two of them falling in love. Considering the Slayer doesn't actually have a lot of canon characterization other than being quiet and menacing, I had a lot to work with in regards to writing the story how I want to.

Arcane

Fuck Around and Find Out (from part 4)

"So, what was he studying?" Devo asked, making Viktor jump slightly with a small yelp when she showed up out of nowhere. 

"How did you get in here?" He asked. 

"Did you forget the sheriff is basically my mother?" 

"Ah, right." He remembered. "I don't know, the Professor never told me what Mr. Talis was studying." 

"That's gonna make this a lot harder on him than it has to be." Devo deduced. 

"Heimer seems to feel differently." 

"Heimer isn't on trial." She said, "The other councilors are going to eat him alive when they think a little too long about how he blew up a building and they have nothing to blame for it other than his own gross negligence." 

"You make a fair point." Viktor agreed. "Unless of course, he was studying something far more condemning that makes such a dangerous oversight seem malicious." 

"Wanna bet on it?" She asked. Viktor returned her gaze with a mischievous smile. "I'll bet twenty gold that he'll blame it on ignorance of volatile materials." 

"Thirty that he will fall apart and use the research as justification for the accident." He bet. 

"Those two are not mutually exclusive. What if he does neither?" 

"Then we're both out of luck." 

"And what if he does both?" She asked. 

"Then the two of us have fifty gold to perhaps go on a proper date." Viktor suggested, making her nearly freeze. 

"A-Are you asking me out on the odds of man's criminal trial?" 

"Well when you say it like that, it does not sound nearly as romantic, but yes, I believe I am."

It was audacious, smug, and downright absurd. It was just Viktor. "Alright, you're on." 

When I write dialogue for canon characters, I especially take care to keep them in character. I need to be able to hear the voice of Viktor when I write lines for him. So when it came to Devo and Viktor settling into a dynamic that I could be proud of, I first write them platonically, then I add the romantic aspects. I feel this moment captures their dynamic especially well.

They start off simply talking about the topic of Jayce's trial as though they are friends that are just equally involved in this mess at the moment. They strike a bet because they just want to mess around in a way they both relate to. Then Viktor simply opens the possibility of a romantic angle. It was between this scene and the scene where Viktor and Devo are talking about their shared troubles with dating in the past. And how most people don't accept that their work is the reason they enjoy life. Both Viktor and Devo exist as a way to enjoy more of life than just their work. Maybe they'll enjoy going home as much as they enjoy working in the future.

The Least Sane Moments (from part 4)

"Just ask what you're trying to figure out, Vander."

"It's not important to ask right now." He said.

"That's a roundabout way of saying you're too scared to ask." She pointed out. "I've questioned thousands of people in my life, and you've been more nervous than half of them all day. You're not the type to avoid a question."

Vander let out a long sigh, and closed the door behind him. He stepped over to her slowly and sat down on the floor with his back resting against the bed. He was close enough to reach out and touch. "I'm scared to ask because the answer is just for me. And I know it's a sore subject for you."

Mita brought her fingers to his hair, and Vander dropped his head back as soon as she brushed through, occasionally guiding her nails across his scalp. This was softer than his beard, but Mita was trying not to think about it too much, even if whatever this was had as much of a calming effect on her as was clear with Vander's expression.

"You can always ask. I won't disappear because you asked something you wanted to know."

She could feel him relax against the mattress. "It's terrifying the way you don't take care of yourself, Mita."

"I'm starting to get that." She agreed, thinking of Ekko for a second.

"I'm trying to figure out why." He said.

That confused her. "Why what?"

"Why are you so scared of him?" He asked. "I can tell it goes beyond losing a fight."

Her hand froze where it was in his hair. Immediately she could tell that Vander was trying to understand this from her perspective. He had never crossed a line that she hadn't allowed him to, and even then, he always let her take control to stop him if she wanted to. Even now he knew that Mita would be just as scared to answer as he was to ask, and he gave her fair warning before he even said the words.

What surprised Mita more than him asking, was that she wanted to tell him. But there was a wall in her throat that stopped her from just spitting it out. What was once a wall that shielded her was now an obstacle.

"I-I need more time." She said.

"You can say it's too much." He offered. "I won't take it personal."

"No, I just-" her fingers ran through his hair again as more of a comfort to herself. "I want to tell you. Just give me some time to think of how to say it."

"How long?" Vander asked.

"I'm sure I can figure it out by tonight." Mita answered, forcing herself to take her hand out of his hair and let him get up.

Can you tell yet that writing the dynamics of relationships is my favorite part of writing? Obviously, Mita and Vander look a lot different than a pair like Devo and Viktor. And a lot of that has to do with the maturity of the characters themselves. Mita has a lot of experience reading people, and Vander's wisdom shows itself in both respecting what Mita has said she has a rough time with and how he trusts her to simply say what she wants instead of beating around it. If they want to clear something up, they just ask even if it takes a while to work up to saying something, instead of leaving it up to interpretation.

I like this moment especially because it's the first bridge that Mita shows to actually trusting Vander. This is her saying she wants to reach out, but she wants to make it clear that she doesn't know how to just yet. This scene reminds me of a headcanon that @gatnalien sent me on how Mita enjoys soft, silly moments, and I really liked that concept. The physical affection she shows Vander in this scene is just as important as her telling him that she's working up the courage to have a serious and vulnerable conversation with him.

Devil of the Crossroads (from part 3)

The office door was closed, but not locked. Without knocking, she walked in, finding Silco speaking with Sheriff Marcus.

The two of them went silent, watching her stroll in like the two of them were trespassing on her property.

"Do you need something, Pepper?" Silco asked quite sure of himself and his power, taking his attention away from her to appear as though she was just another goon in front of Marcus. Too bad she wouldn't be playing along.

"I got a question." She said, calmly, taking slow, meandering steps up to Silco's desk and plopping the folded map, blotched with the blood of his employee. "How many maps did it take you to find the audacity to do what you did?"

Silco glared up at her. "Is that all-"

She cut him off by stabbing the map with his goon's knife, also still stained with blood.

"Leave us, Marcus." The Enforcer all but sprinted out, closing the door. The two of them were left in a scorching silence.

Pepper braced herself against the desk, staring down at him. "Silco, I'm more than obliged to work for you. I'll take your orders, and your blood money at your bar. Hell, I'll put blood on the money myself for you should the need arise." She didn't look away from his healthy eye, just to ensure he kept looking at her.

"But there are only two people in this world that I'll choose over you every time. And you're the only man I've ever known to be dumb enough to try holding a knife against both of 'em." She spat. "I suggest you think over your next words carefully. Else I regret being gracious enough to ask you to speak at all."

Silco, who had looked ready to make his case, or reinforce his threat, stayed silent. Instead he reached slender fingers into a vest pocket and handed her a folded piece of paper.

Pepper took it, and opened it immediately. It was an address. One she didn't recognize but she knew where it was. It was actually fairly close to the bar. "What's here?"

"The address of the man that I sent to give your daughter a message meant for you." Silco explained. "I did not permit him to attack your child."

It was a peace offering. "And you don't care what happens to him."

"He knows he is no longer in my good graces, but he did not trespass against me. If anyone should decide hia fate, it would be you." Silco said.

"And you expect me to believe, what? That my daughter is safe because you're offering that fucker's head instead of yours?" Pepper asked. "Would you believe me if it were Jinx?"

Silco gave a small smile. "I couldn't let my people think I'd just let you get away with your stunt without threatening something." He explained. "However, Sevika made one or two good points last night in your favor. Your real repayment for the stunt you pulled will be fixing the problem you caused."

Pepper stood up, glaring down at him with sharp observation. "And, you want me to go back downstairs like I learned my lesson?"

"Essentially." Silco agreed. "Believe it or not, regardless of the stupidity you've shown, I respect your loyalty to your friend, and now your daughter. I'm trying to reach a compromise."

"A compromise." Pepper echoed, taking a few steps to round his desk and lean against the surface next to him. She thought for a moment about how it would play out if she took his offer. "I don't accept it."

No surprises here. I loved this scene so much, I wrote it twice. So, I haven't been super vocal about how I write Silco, but I personally headcanon him as being demisexual and demiromantic. Devil of the Crossroads, will be a much more plot driven story than most of my other fics that are romance driven. Pepper and Silco will have a lot of development between the two of them before either of them start seeing each other in any romantic or sexual way.

However, what that does mean is that I get to give Silco and Pepper a very platonically loyal relationship, and it starts with the two of them seeing each other for their strengths, and filling in each other's weaknesses. But I love this scene for a very simple reason: I absolutely love writing Pepper's threats. She's a character that has spent a long time learning to be confident in herself, and I love showing it in how she faces people in positions of power. She doesn't care how much money you have or who you command, she knows what she's capable of, and you need to pray you don't find out.

Innocent Schemes and Guilty Consciences (from part 1)

Perhaps she was some kind of sorceress, but he wasn't about to question this gift she's given him.

"A flawless execution if I do say so myself." Vivian lauded.

"I certainly couldn't have done it myself." He said. "But if I want my story to remain solid, I really should get you home."

"My knight in shining armor, surely." She did stumble in her heels, but she clung to his arm for stability. "Humor me for a moment if you're willing. What made you so eager to leave the gala?"

"I don't like to waste my time on events like those." He answered honestly. "Especially when I have someone waiting for me at home."

"I uh… I apologize if I was a bit too forward. I didn't see a ring, so I assumed-"

"Don't worry about it, I'm not currently married." He held her hand on his arm perhaps a bit too obviously to stop her from pulling away. "My daughter. She's probably waiting up, way past her bedtime for me to come home."

"Your daughter." Vivian repeated. "How old is she?"

"She turned four in the spring." He chuckled. "She's just learning to read and I can't seem to get enough books on her shelf to satisfy her."

She hugged closer to his arm as she laughed with him. "With intellect like that, she'll rule us all."

"Ah, well I can only hope not to raise a tyrant, then." He laments.

"Sounds like you have your work cut out for you." She says, coming to a stop in front of a modest apartment complex. "I wouldn't want to keep you any longer."

"I believe my job here is done, seeing as you made it here in one piece."

"You are relieved of your duty for the night, Sheriff." Vivian takes his guiding hand up to the door. "Of course you're welcome to come by Cradles any time if you want a drink after a long day. Or if you're looking for another innocent scheme to pull."

"Hmm, if it hadn't come in handy, I might be concerned about your willingness to be an accomplice to conspiracy, Vivian."

It was worth it to hear her laugh one more time. "Until next scheme, Marcus."

He watched as Vivian eventually disappeared behind the door. As eager as he had been to leave the party, having her leave his company felt too soon.

It had been a long time since he'd smiled that much.

So, I was chatting with someone on a discord server I'm a member of, and I broached the topic of writing a fic where I put Marcus in a romantic light. It was a strange move, as a few people suggested, but really, I wanted to write this as a way of exploring Marcus' character in a different way than we see in the series. Obviously, he is a very gray character, but we really only get to see him through his fear and his guilt. I wanted to explore a story where I could show him beyond that.

My next chapters will definitely feature Vivian more, as the audience gets to see her character more, but I particularly enjoyed writing this scene because of how unapologetically fluffy it is. When I was chatting in discord, we also figured Marcus would be a character to take new relationships very slowly. Between Vivian's patience and Marcus' situation, I think the rest of this series will be very fun to write.

4. What’s a hobby they used to have that they miss?

I've mentioned a few times that Maeko was a softball player in high school and college, and that's definitely something she wishes she could do more often. She hasn't played in years, but she'd definitely like to have a reason to run without her life being in danger.

7. What would you (mun) yell in the middle of a crowd to find them? What would their best friend and/or romantic partner yell?

"Ayo, who's funky kid is this!?" Even if she has all her kids, she can never shake the feeling that one of them has wandered off, and one of them might be in front of a stranger.

Let's be honest, pretty much everyone would say something relating to her kids. Kugo would know to pick whichever kid she's the most worried about at that moment, and Ahmya would likely just start crying.

11. If someone was impersonating them, what would friends / family ask or do to tell the difference?

"Who's your favorite child?"

You'd assume the correct answer is that she doesn't have a favorite, or that she loves all of her children equally, but Maeko actually has a bit that she's been using ever since she met Tamaki Amajiki. He's her favorite, and she will not elaborate.

But I will elaborate. Basically she met Amajiki when he started his work study with Fatgum, and he got along very well with her kids. So well that all of them immediately behave when he shows up, and they get unironically excited whenever they see him, even well into high school. So everyone in the Sakamata family knows that Tamaki Amajiki is her favorite child.

22. What simple activity that most people do / can do scares your character?

Maeko absolutely hates swimming. Which seems odd considering who her spouses are. Beach day is already a nightmare for Maeko, but as soon as someone suggest she go in the ocean, she's walking home no matter how far it is.

45. What’s something unimportant / frivolous that they hate passionately?

Oatmilk. She hates the taste, and the gross film that it coats her tongue in, and it's a much worse version of an already great milk alternative of almond milk. She won't judge you if you do like it, but if you thought you were doing something nice and bring her any coffee with oatmilk in it, she will hit you.

51. What’s a phrase they say a lot?

Not so much a phrase as a facial expression that she does a lot that I struggle to write every time she does it. I feel like the expression is worth more than enough words. It's sort of one of those

faces that she makes when she's stumped or slightly annoyed and can't do anything about it.

52. Do they act on their immediate emotions, or do they wait for the facts before acting?

Sometimes she doesn't have the time to wait for the facts, and has to go off a gut feeling, but any time she can wait for facts, she will.

55. What’s something they’re expected to enjoy based on their hobbies / profession that they actually dislike / hate?

You'd think as a private investigator, she'd actually enjoy extensive research, but if she could make literally anybody else comb through files, news sites, police reports, and records, she would pay them so much money. But unfortunately, she needs to know all that stuff and she can currently only trust herself to get that information and compile it in a way that makes sense to her.

Mania/Tara

2. How loosely or strictly do they use the word ‘friend’?

Very strictly. If I'm being entirely honest, the only reason she ever called Flynn a friend is because he proved exactly what he was willing to do to keep her alive and safe. The only other person she'll really consider a friend is Dr. Kostadinov for pretty much the same reason.

8. How loose is their use of the phrase ‘I love you’?

Even more strict than the term "friend." As you can imagine, vulnerability for her is extremely rare, and when it comes to ever letting someone know she’s comfortable enough around them to be vulnerable, she will likely second guess herself several times before she ever gets brave enough to say it.

19. What would they do if stuck in a room with the person they’ve been avoiding?

Tara’s first solution would be to give them the silent treatment, in favor of trying to get the hell out on her own. If it’s a silly situation where it’s clear they have to work together in order to get out, she’ll only talk about how to get out, and blatantly ignore any efforts to talk about something else. If they specifically trapped her there so she couldn’t escape while they talked to her, you can imagine that they’re lucky if her answer isn’t violence. If her answer is to finally confront them, then it will likely be a massive showdown regardless.

25. What subject / topic do they know a lot about that’s completely useless to the direct plot?

Tara always had a bias toward science classes, but her second love was actually horror media. She can track the horror genre to its beginning and she has several essays on the genre, including her pride and joy, the history of queer representation in horror media.

30. When they make a mistake and feel bad, does the guilt differ when it’s personal versus when it’s professional?

If she’s managed to mess something up in her profession of mechanical repair, then someone’s probably gonna die. If she managed to send something away and it blew up and killed someone, Tara would be absolutely destroyed. And her new profession of demon killing has very similar consequences. If she fails to kill something, it’ll either kill her, or go after someone else that can’t protect themself.

Now, personal guilt will very likely result in avoidance. Tara will outright ignore and avoid whoever she thinks she wronged until it's either too much, or they confront her about it.

45. What’s something unimportant / frivolous that they hate passionately?

Any red and white color scheme. It's easy to try and say that it's because the Lazarus facility used that color scheme, but honestly, Tara had hated it long before she ever met Dr. Hive. She just thinks it looks so stupid no matter how you slice it, and she will bully you about it.

She also just absolutely hates caramel. It's literally just sugar, and it's not even good. It's so much work for literally no flavor. It's nothing but sweetness and there's no way to balance it with any flavor that doesn't make her want to throw up.

51. What’s a phrase they say a lot?

I think "fuck" counts as a phrase considering how many different ways she uses it.

But specifically "I think the fuck not." I am disappointed with how few times I've actually managed to write it in.

53. Who would / do they believe without question?

Literally nobody, especially not as of now on the story. Even long into the future, not even her closest friends or lovers are beyond question. Her life is just too high stakes for there to be anybody that she trusts with no thought.

🥺 Is there a certain type of moment or common interaction between your characters that never fails to put you in your feels?

Most of my fics have a lead up to the italicized "Oh" when my two love interests realize they've actually gone and fallen in love with their idiot of choice.

My favorite thing about it is that when I'm writing a story from two different perspectives, I get to write this moment twice, for two different people, that are specific to those characters' idea of love. (Definitely gets even better when it's a polyamorous relationship, and I get to write it for as many characters as there are in the relationship).

You may have also noticed the strange moments I write when one character starts to decode what affection looks like from the love interest. Sometimes it's as simple as talking about it, and picking up on those brief interactions from the other. And for other couples it's noticing the other doesn't do certain things for other people the same way they do things for them. Or maybe one trusts the other with things they don't with other people. Even that one just doesn't smile as often when talking to others as they do with them.

🤡 What's a line, scene, or exchange you've written that made you laugh?

A lot of Devo and Viktor's scenes crack me up, just cause I think I'm hilarious, and they're relationship is both platonic and romantic, so they share a lot of banter and jabs with each other.

Viktor took his cane and expertly pulled her right against him with it so the two were nose to nose. Devo's entire front was pressed up against him as he held her there with the bar of the cane across her back.

"You're surprisingly good with the stick." She admitted.

"Just didn't expect you to be so rough."

"I hope it isn't so surprising; I've had it all my life."

"You're a tough girl, you can handle it." He smirked.

"Only if you're sweet to me afterwards."

"Are we still talking about the cane?"

"You tell me."

That's a favorite of mine, just because I think innuendo is hilarious like a middle schooler.

But I also live for this whole scene with Silco and Jinx playing cards, but I'll settle for just quoting this one small segment.

"That sounds like a good plan." He agreed.

"Good, then I'll ask Pepper." She nodded her head like they were in agreement. He found it endearing enough not to tell her otherwise. It was better Jinx ask her than him, as he was still reeling from their first encounter.

"I caught the monster!" Jinx showed her hand and took the last of the cards except the few that he hadn't paired.

"Are you cheating?" Silco asked playfully.

Jinx shook her head and began shuffling all the cards again for another round. "No you just suck."

🛒 What are some common things you incorporate in your fics? Themes, feels, scenes, imagery, etc.

I've had people point out I have a thing for sparring scenes and elevators, not usually in the same fic. While sparring is usually on purpose, the elevators were just coincidence.

As for themes I include on purpose, trust is a massive theme in all of my stories.

-Does Maeko trust Kugo?

"Yes, he's nice. I trust him a lot." She said. "He likes helping people, and he cares about you. And it's ok if he doesn't want to be a dad. He can just be a friend and still care about you."

-Does Shouta trust Shizune?

"I don't trust you, Shouta." She hissed. "I don't trust you with the memory of me."

-Does Ceka trust Thrawn?

"Yeah I know… I'm still trying to figure out why I trust you so much." She shrugged. "I like to think we're more than just work acquaintances, but I would be lying if I said I think you see me as a friend."

-Does Mania trust Slayer?

"Alright." She allowed. "I don't have an immediate reason to kill you. But I'll need more than that to trust you."

-Does Devo trust Viktor?

Devo faltered for just a moment. Trusting Viktor meant a lot of different things that she wasn't quite ready to admit, but she really couldn't think of many that she hadn't already trusted him with. "I- I don't know. But I can say I don't distrust him."

-Does Mita trust Vander?

"This is gonna sound like bullshit, but I need you to trust me on this." Pepper said.

Silco scoffed. "Yes, because trusting you has gone so wonderfully for me."

-Does Marcus trust Vivian?

As kind as her approach was, he still doesn’t quite trust it. “What makes your position so difficult that you can’t just take off whenever you want?”

I think being able to do this with every single fic on my masterlist says some very specific things about me.

💋 First kiss fics. Love em or hate em?

Love them. I live for a first kiss fic, and I may or may not be convinced to write some.

🌞 Do you have a preferred time of day to write?

Does "when I'm supposed to be doing something else" count?

Most of the time I'm the most productive writer when I have something much more important to be doing.

🧐 Do you spend much time researching for your stories?

Depends on the fic, and the characters. Googling how long it takes to heal cracked ribs, and a dislocated shoulder was interesting to have in my search history. Searching through various injuries, weapons, psychology facts, setting information, survival information, and even words and terms that are used in different parts of the world are all typical research I do for fics.

Honestly, what's more alarming than what I do look up, is what I don't have to look up.

I already knew that a full, glass bottle of whiskey would break skin before the glass was damaged in any way. And I knew what happens to someone's face when they take a knee to the mouth. And I know how to properly hold and fight with a karambit. And I knew what it feels like to get punched with full force on various parts of the body. Some of the knowledge I just know does have either funny or interesting stories behind it, but I do also admit that a lot of them need some fair warning before I tell them.

🤩 Who is your favorite character to write?

As I mentioned in the first ask, my favorite to write is Pepper.

But a close second is Ekko. He's very level headed, and his intelligence speaks for itself. He's strategic, and definitely physically strong, but even he knows he isn't always right. There are a handful of hills he's willing to die on, though.

He's also kind, and affectionate in many ways. I do also think he's the type to simply enjoy a friend or lover's company while he focuses on other things. Just having them nearby is a nice way for Ekko to show he cares.

I like the character flaw that he believes he needs to suffer in silence, while he tries to do other things. Not because he believes he isn't valid, just because he's busy carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders.

He's a beautiful character to write.

🎉 What leads you to consider a fic a success?

There are at least two levels of success that I consider.

The first is if I like it. Do I enjoy writing it? Did I find a good story to tell? Did I end with something I would enjoy reading?

And the second is really just a bonus. After it gets past the first, is if others like it. I only post stories that I enjoy, and I choose to share my favorites with my followers. The second level of success is really just a way for others to tell me if they consider it a success, and I love hearing any feedback on any of my work.

The amount of tags and comments telling me they've fallen in love with Pepper, or people sending me an ask full of their rants and thoughts while reading a chapter, fuel me to create more things that are likely to get past level one.

🤯 What's a genre you struggle with as a writer (ex. romance, action, etc.)?

I don't think I can manage any sort of comedy or crack fic. They're not really my thing, and while I can write funny moments here and there, making comedy central to the plot is just not something I'm capable of. And I just don't even particularly enjoy reading them either.

I do have hella respect for people that do write it. I know it's not easy, and I love seeing groups of people enjoying themselves, especially since nothing about it is harmful. It's just a bunch of people in various fandoms, finding something they love, just because it's funny.

"Did we have to leave Kugo behind?" Ahmya pouted a little, despite the treat she knew her and her wife were in for.

"It's a gift for your birthday, love." Maeko reminded. "It wouldn't be much of a gift if it was for all three of us. In fact the only reason I'm here is because you wanted some company."

The week long vacation in Okinawa was Kugo's response to a somewhat funny joke. When he'd asked Ahmya what she wanted for her birthday, her answer was something along the lines of 'a fucking break.' And Kugo was nothing if not committed to a subtle bit.

"I know, I guess I'm just feeling a little homesick." Ahmya figured.

"It's only been a day, Ahmya." Maeko chuckled lightly as she searched through Ahmya's jewelry to pick something for a night full of the most interesting luxuries Kugo could find.

"Don't get me wrong, I'm looking forward to the rest of the trip." She'd picked out a square collared, white dress with some pink flowering that would go well with a rose gold pendant. "I guess it just feels a little odd to be taking a vacation without him or any of the kids."

"Tell you what," Maeko found the rose gold charm of an orca that she had to stop Ahmya from shoplifting from an aquarium in her excitement a few years back. "We enjoy our night: go to the show, have a lovely dinner, and walk down the beach."

"Then what?" Ahmya asks, moving her hair so Maeko can put the necklace on her wife.

"Then we come back, and get a good night's sleep." Maeko smiles, clasping the chain behind Ahmya's neck. She wraps her arms around Ahmya's waist from behind, looking at her in the mirror, resting her chin on her wife's shoulder. "And in the morning, we can give them a call, and maybe start brainstorming about gifts we can bring back for Kugo and the kids. How's that sound?"

Ahmya relaxed against Maeko. "Yeah, that sounds nice."

Maeko sneaks a quick kiss just above the delicate chain of the necklace. "You look stunning, by the way."

Ahmya giggled at the ticklish kiss to her neck. "You practically chose my whole look."

"And I have wonderful taste."
