I’ve got some loaches & ribbon eels that I finished making this week (my sister sewed them and I finished them with eyes and stuffing etc... don’t worry she gets paid).
Speaking of getting paid, I’m in a bit of a sticky situation because I can only post inside the UK.
MY WEBSITE: https://www.palaeoplushies.com/
I’ve had to stop ALL INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING for a bit, because Royal Mail (The UK’s privatised “national” postal service) got hit by a ransomeware attack and they haven’t been able to ship anything overseas since the 11th January... It’s been a huge headache. They’re apparently working through the backlog (including the previous international orders I shipped on the 10th, I think) but they’re still not accepting any new international mail.
This is gonna be a bit of a rant because honestly it’s a complete disaster for any small businesses relying on royal mail for international postage, because the nearest service by courier is a minimum of £25 postage for a parcel that’d cost £8-12 to send with Royal Mail, plus it HAS TO BE IN A BOX (most of my parcels are small packages...) and you HAVE TO FILL OUT SO MANY FORMS. It’s a nightmare.
I’m so stressed out right now. I’ve not been listing new items for a bit to wait until this resolved but who knows when that’ll be, and I really need some money to live, so if you’re in the UK and have been thinking about buying any of my loach plushies now’s your chance to grab one before the Americans come and snap them all up and make them out of stock again...
Got a few new black Kuhli loaches (pangio oblonga) to add to the existing crew and they seem to be having a blast. Also expanded the ember tetra school and added Congo tetras, which may or may not have been a gamble.
Unfortunately for y’all, I’m kinda back on my fish/aquarium bullshit. So if you want to opt out, I tag with “planted aquarium saga” and other related tags.
I HATE KUHLI LOACHES I HATE KUHLI LOACHES I HATE KUHLI LOACHES THEY'RE SO DRAMATIC HE WAS D E A D HE WAS LYING ON THE GROUND ON HIS SIDE DEAD NOT BREATHING DEAD AND I TOUCH THIS MOTHERFUCKER ONCE AND HE'S FINE AGAIN
Originally, when setting up the 30 gallon tank, we got three tiny little threadlike Kuhli loaches. Two darker (above) and one lighter in colour. They are now big Chunkus Wyrms and thriving.
Just before the holiday we got a tiny, threadlike singleton Kuhli loach, rescued from being an "only loach" in a bare tank (no hidey spots.) He had buried himself in the group of Pygmy corys that were freaking out in the back of the tank as well. (Kuhli loaches need friends and hidey places.)
We brought them all home, Pygmy corys and tiny loach. I was concerned for the tiny thread who promptly disappeared into the vegetation in the tank. We did not see him for three weeks.
However, he has resurfaced!
And he is at least four times larger than when he was last seen diving into the foliage! How did he survive the Guppy Threat?
His protector, Wyatt, Bestest Betta in the Fishiverse.
Wyatt has been stuffing loach wafers under the Spiderwood, and chasing off the Guppies when they get obnoxious. And now that Tiniest Loach is starting to explore more of the tank, his bodyguard is never far from his side.
(Last photo shows Wyatt warning off a Guppy while Tiniest Loach peeks out from under the Spiderwood.)
Jovian being a beautiful yellow galaxy koi boi. He’s very much grown into his personality now that he’s settled in and doing well. He’s the new king of the tank, but he silently respects his court. The only time I’ve noticed him being feisty is around meal time, he’s a piggy just like Dumpling. I’m working on making him his own tank right now, it looks like it just finished cycling. Problem is I gotta decorate and get more plants!
The cories in the house have been good, no one seems to be showing ill signs. Dumpling I wasn’t sure for a sec recently, but she seems to be acting normal now.
This was mere seconds after Columbo explosively barged out from under the lotus pod, spooking Magnum and Fletcher out with him as if they were saying “what the hell?!” Magnum has been healing nicely, as well!
