They've probably never played Uno, but, if so were the case, how would the game go?

Maki: doesn't know the rules. Gets the luckiest hand ever just by accident. Keeps loosing and giving everyone else headache because how can you play so badly. Has no stakes in the game, is just having fun.

Karin: knows the rules. Hates the game because of how luck-based it is but plays anyway because it's about honor. Keeps losing because everyone else teams up on her. Is not having fun.

Kairi: absolutely clueless. Sees what Reishi does and just copies him because he looks like he knows what he's doing. Only has fun when Karin is about to lose.

Suzuka: knows the rules, but has never played it with so many people before and wonders if it's slightly unbalanced. Is just about an average player. Is usually the one to propose ganging up on Karin.

Akari: is so anxious about losing and winning and people being mad at each other she looks like she's about to cry. Doesn't want to be there. Also doesn't know the rules.

Reishi: knows the rules, is obnoxious about following the rules to piss off Karin specifically. Occasionally makes up stuff that's not in the rules for that exact purpose. Doesn't aim to win and is only there for the fun, but keeps winning on accident anyway.

In total: chaos.

What music do they listen to (besides classical)?

Maki listens to a lot of different genres! She considers herself kind of new to music in general, so she's very set on broadening her horizons as far as that does. She'll always pick something new from the record store, usually based on the cover.

Karin doesn't listen to anything other than classical, but she might have some interesting tastes in music she would discover if she gave other genres a chance...

Kairi doesn't listen to anything other than classical with much attention, but he's fond of jazz. He also appreciates lo-fi music.

Suzuka likes j-pop and k-pop songs, as much as she tries not to admit it. The kind of upbeat, hopeful songs idols produce make her feel a little bit better about herself.

Akari is surprisingly interested in the local rock scene. She's rarely, if at all, present at lives or live houses, but she definitely knows more about it than she lets on.

Reishi is shamelessly fascinated by musicals and game OSTs. He finds both to be an inspiration and an exercise in musical storytelling from a composer's perspective.

Additionally, all become more interested in Vocaloid music after they discover their Sekai.

How academically adept are the kwko members?

Karin is doing really well! She is an honors student. Though she doesn't seem to spend that much time studying, she's always on top of everything... Except Home Economics. She really hates that subject. She makes up for it by being the best of her class in Math.

Kairi is an average student, earning him a firm pass in just about everything. He mostly studies by writing notes, but won't go out of his way for a better grade. His least favourite subjects is History because using bright and colourful supplies for that always feels awkward. On the contrary, he seems to like Chemistry - drawing all of those formulas and solutions in a creative way is very satisfying.

Suzuka is doing pretty okay as well. She doesn't pay attention in class at all but somehow passes anyway, usually scoring about 80%. Her least favourite subjects is Art Classes, because she is a fairly good artist and that means whenever it's group work everyone will try to get in her way, and Suzuka would much rather work alone. Her favourite subject is Home Economics.

Maki is struggling a lot! It's not even her fault primarily; but studying abroad for quite a while and not knowing proper academic Japanese has left its mark, as well as being generally very inattentive and easily distracted. She hates Literature most of all because it makes her feel illiterate, but at least she can boast her top of the class grades in English.

Reishi would do pretty good if he didn't skip classes as much as he does. He simply has no desire to learn what doesn't interest him, even if he's fully capable of being a great student... But for now he'd settle for a pass. His best subjects are Literature and his elective class of Music Theory, and his worst grades are in Math. Numbers don't really make a lot of sense... Unless we're talking about pitches and chords, of course.

Akari is taking a special course in her school; she only really shows up once or twice a week. Because of that, she is graded a bit differently than others. Despite it, she does enough work to get a pass in most subjects, occasionally taking re-takes and remedial classes... Her worst subject is Chemistry and Physics, and she doesn't have a favourite one.

(since jay asked for thoughts) for all the members: who's the person outside of your unit that you're closest to? (for jay: ex. would be toya and tsukasa, kanade and honami, etc.)

also, do any of you know about the aoyagi family at all?

[ Hi! Unfortunately the first question isn't very answerable because I'm trying to make this unit as independent as possible (although they do have a connection with my other oc units that will possibly be mentioned later), so the chance of any KWKO member knowing any canon proseka OC in person is very low. This might change in the future though! As for the second question... ]

🦊: It's hard not to know about them if you're in any way involved with classical music in Japan.

🌸: Precisely so. Although Harumichi Aoyagi is more famous as a composer overseas, I don't assume any of us have ever actually performed any of his works. As a composer, he is fiercely protective of his image.

🦋: We haven't met personally or even contacted him or his sons, but considering the way classical music is played in our competition, I doubt things would go well, even if we tried...

🐚: I agree. It's best to keep our distance. Mother warned me to stay away from that family, and I trust her judgement.

Did Suzuka-chan get Kotori something special for her special day 👀👀👀?

When it's time for Kotori's birthday, she and Suzuka just clear the entire day from any plans and go out somewhere nice. Something like a mall! There's little Suzuka can give Kotori that she doesn't already have, so the time they spend together is what they value the most.

When they go shopping, Suzuka really spoils Kotori rotten on her birthday, getting her every little useless knick-knack Kotori lays her eyes on. As a bonus, she's also willing to play as Kotori's dress-up doll (Suzuka doesn't particularly like shopping and finds it stressful) and lets Kotori buy a few outfits for Suzuka that she likes, this way they're even.

Suzuka wishes she could knit something for her, but it seems slightly inappropriate as it's already May and a bit too hot for the types of clothes Suzuka can make, and Kotori isn't exactly the person to plan for the future, in her condition... So they settle on a little mall trip.

Actually if its not a spoiler question, can I ask why each of the members chose to play the instrument they did?

This is partially a spoiler but as there's actually multiple factors as to why everyone chose why they did, I can answer parts that are non-spoilery and then put a ✨ to say "this isn't all there is to it though". Let's see!

For Maki, the violin just seemed like an obvious choice. It was a bit of an impulsive decision and she didn't really think about it beyond surface-level, and the violin is usually what comes to mind when one considers learning an instrument that isn't the guitar or the piano. She really wasn't into classical music at all at the time she decided to start learning.

Karin just plays her instrument because it's what her family told her she should do. It simply stuck with her through the years. Plus, she likes the virtuosity and the "show-off" vibe of the violin, which isn't as obvious in other instruments. ✨

For Kairi, piano was pretty much the only available choice at the time. ✨

Suzuka likes the deeper tone of the cello and personally found the violin too screechy and the viola too unyielding. When she tried cello, it just kind of made sense to her. ✨

Akari didn't really choose her instrument. ✨

Reishi liked the idea of the elegance and that kind of dreaminess that came with playing the flute. Like with Suzuka, it just seemed right for him to pick it. That said, he doesn't really have anything against other instruments, and is particularly fond of strings; he could have picked violin just as well if flute didn't feel much more natural for him.

Do any of them have pets?

Maki used to have a parrot! The guy's still alive, just rehomed for his own sake - moving as much as Maki's family does didn't do his health any favours, so they sadly had to say goodbye.

Reishi's family used to have a dog.

Kairi and Akari don't have pets on their own, but are close with others's cats.

I can't answer fully because it is a bit spoilery, but I'll give you the two ends of the spectrum: Maki is the most likely to cry because something insignificant in the long run/minor inconvenience, Kairi is least.

How would kwko react during a horror movie?

Maki pretends to be unfazed but is actually very, very fazed. She dislikes horror in general and some especially scary scenes might stick with her for days, making her anxious and uneasy. Will probably try to be stoic during the movie itself and then fumble afterwards. Would just not go watch a horror movie at all if she had a choice.

Karin is probably enjoying it, but she likes watching for other's reaction more than watching it herself. Will probably comment how it was a giant waste of time afterwards and she should have been practising instead. Oh well.

With Kairi and Suzuka, depends on which kind of horror we're talking about. Anything that is scary on the surface, like apocalypse movies or slashers, will probably leave them simply unimpressed; but psychological horror, especially dealing with the topic of mental disorders, can be pretty disturbing for both. Both of them will simply walk out the moment they decide to prioritise their comfort.

Akari's attention span is short enough that she'll probably not be able to focus on the plot anyway. She's fine as long as there's no jump scares involved.

Reishi can be fascinated by some genres of horror, namely body horror and supernatural, as well as in some cases psychological, yet completely bored out of his mind by others, like murder mysteries and survival movies. He dislikes portrayal of murder and violence on screen and finds it primitive, but likes horror that challenge his worldview and morals. So again, really depends!

What are kwko characters' favourite season/seasons they're associated with?

Maki is associated with spring, however, her favourite season is actually winter. She dislikes hot weather.

Karin is associated with late summer, and summer is also her favourite season! Lucky.

Kairi is associated with winter. He doesn't have a particular affinity towards any season, as long as the weather is sunny.

Suzuka is assigned with late fall. Her favourite season is late spring.

Akari is associated with fall. Her favourite season is also fall, as she likes collecting fallen tree leaves. However, she also likes spring.

Reishi is associated with both winter and spring. Spring is his favourite season, with winter being his least favourite. He claims that his mood tends to sour during winter for no apparent reason, so it's a difficult period for him to handle.

What are their favourite book genres? Do they read at all?

There's kind of an interesting division between them! Half of KWKO are avid readers, while the other half... Really aren't.

Karin works part-time at a book store, so naturally she ends up reading at her workplace a lot when there isn't any customers around (although she's not supposed to, but her manager is a pretty chill person, so he doesn't mind). She would usually read non-fiction, but if we're talking about strictly fiction novels, her favourite genres are mystery and detective series and high fantasy. She enjoys a lot of world-building, complicated political systems and building her own theories. Unfortunately, her schedule is pretty packed, so finishing even just one book can take her a very long time.

Maki also reads a lot! She's a bookworm and will read just about anything, but her favourite genres are adventure and young adult. Thought she won't admit to it, she also likes comics and manga better than novels, but she thinks it doesn't technically count as "reading" and considers it a little embarrassing. After all, if she's an adult, she should stop paying so much attention to the pictures, right?

Reishi also enjoys reading. His favourite genres are romance and poetry. He especially likes enemies to lovers trope. He will rarely mention that to other people, though, and prefers not to read in public places. Or at least hide the cover of the book...

Kairi struggles with reading a lot of text a fair bit, so he doesn't read a lot outside of school curriculum, and Akari is simply too tired and doesn't think spending her energy on that is worth it. Suzuka will pick up an occasional book by recommendation, but she doesn't consider reading to be one of her hobbies, and much prefers to listen to audiobooks while she's knitting or crocheting.

for full cast (again): which virtual singer do you get along with best, and which one do you think took after you the most? that may be the same virtual singer or not!

🦋: Who do I get along best with, huh? In that case, Rin and Len are the most fun to be around! Maybe it's because they're both violinists?

🦊: Kaito-san says and does a lot of things I don't understand, but I can't deny he taught me a lot, too.

🐚: I don't know if that means we get along well, but... Meiko seems to enjoy spending time with me a lot. I don't know who I like best, though. Is it really okay to have a favourite like this? They're kind of like rivals to us, in a way.

🪁: Though we're nothing alike, Luka-chan often invites me to play together. She reminds me of someone I know.

🍁: ...I like Miku-san's company best. I don't know why... I just hope she doesn't mind it.

🌸: Virtual Singers, huh? I suppose I get along best with Miku. Piano is her instrument of choice, but she's surprisingly well-versed in just about everything music. Conversations with her are quite eye-opening most of the times, hehe. Ah, I really shouldn't be surprised by that, should I?

Good morning. What does each character think of Suzuka's height?

Good morning! Thanks for the ask!

Maki is probably the one poking fun at Suzuka the most, even though she's barely any taller.

Reishi used to joke about it a lot as well, until she threatened to make him carry her cello (if he's so tall, he should have no problems with it, right?). Reishi is the definition of not being athletic and the fear of back pain overweighted the urge to annoy Suzuka.

Karin thinks it's actually admirable to play an instrument as well as Suzuka does despite the fact that it doesn't really fit her best physically. She doesn't comment on it.

Akari and Kairi don't particularly care as long as Suzuka doesn't comment on it herself, but Akari can somewhat relate to feeling out of place with their instruments.
