If you're looking for more insights and awareness of D.I.D. (dissociative identity disorder) for writing or just your own awareness, I highly recommend both this article about and the autobiographical comics created by LB Lee, a system who's put their varied experiences to paper. The article is from an outside perspective and helps people unfamiliar with the disorder/systems to gain awareness of what this disorder is for them, and can be in general. The comics are at LB's itch.io, also linked, and are LB's works to share what they know amd experience, and process as well.
I discovered them by accident over 10 years ago at this point, I think, and while I haven't kept up regularly I did read a loooot of their comics which helped me understand D.I.D. more. I was working on an OC with D.I.D. and wanted to gain a better understanding (project is now vastly different and oc no longer relevant, but maybe in another project), but LB's comics were really eye-opening for me.
I just remembered last month about this experience and found this article about them as well. I just want to share this in case more people want a great resource for their research! Or just wat to expand their knowledge of the kinds of people we interact with in the world!

1 step forward, 3 steps back— l.b.
lee bodecker x female reader
summary: your once-loving boyfriend suddenly becomes cold towards you
warnings: angst, mean lee, reader gets hurt, a hopeful ending, lots of stress
word count: 1.3k
a/n: i’m hella rusty so this one will suck
sour masterlist // main masterlist
Tumblr media
lee is the best thing that’s ever happened to you.
before going to and returning from the station, long embraces and passionate kisses were exchanged.
loving looks and dashing smiles whenever you fix a plate for him or do anything to ease his stress.
“just being able to see you after a long day from work is enough to make me happy, sweetheart.”
the beginnings of the pet name tug at your heartstrings.
lee had only been with you for a few months when he encountered a snag and you were taken aback when you saw him cry for the first time. he’s always been so hard and stern, only showing you his small smile so when he comes to you with nonstop tears falling down his face, it leaves you in awe.
he ranted about how all the stress at the station is getting to him and that he just wanted a break.
that night, you took care of him. getting him out of his uniform and putting him to bed. you gave him a bath and helped him wash off the grime from the day. you cuddled him to sleep, even humming lullabies as he grew sleepier each minute. you even served him breakfast in bed, which caused him to weep once more.
that day, lee never stopped praising you.
he grinned at you and said, "you're the sweetest thing that's ever happened to me, sweetheart." he had the largest smile you've ever seen on his face.
“sweetheart?” you chuckled at the nickname as you raised an eyebrow at him.
“it’s what you are,” he shrugged before jumping off the bed and attacking you in a hug and kissing you all over your face, laughing at the squeals you let out.
lee’s the perfect partner and he said you’re the perfect one for him.
you still can’t comprehend how all those memories were even real.
everything is just so different now.
you keep wondering what you’ve been doing wrong because the lee that claimed to have his day saved by just seeing you would lash out by just hearing your voice.
he’s been so stressed lately which is why you decided to give him a call, just to ask him how he was.
he didn’t like that.
“i don’t have time for this shit. the station is busy and every call counts. don’t call unless it’s an emergency, got it?”
he hung up on you before you could even respond.
when he got home, he acted as if the call never happened and gave you a kiss on the cheek which gave you hope.
those kisses used to be passionate, but you'll take whatever he has to offer. It just indicates that you can still make things right. move forward with lee.
lee was unusually irritable for the following several days, and you decided it was best to stay out of his way because getting in his way had previously proven to be a poor idea.
you were only concerned with cooking the nicest meal you could for him, which made you eager for him to return home.
you heard him grumble as he shut the door behind him, and you smiled to yourself as you finished the table and excitedly called to him.
“lee! dinner’s ready!” you barely heard him grumble a few more times before hearing his footsteps up the stairs and a door slam shut behind him.
you let out a sigh but decided not to give up on him. It’s been a few weeks of him being aloof and you’re not going to let him drown himself in stress.
so you chase him up the stairs, balancing a tray of his meal on your arms and knocking on his bedroom door. when he didn't open the door and you heard him grumbling behind it, you knocked again.
“god-fucking-dammit! can’t I just have a little time to myself?! just for five fucking minutes! i have had enough people taking up all my time!”
when the door opens, you see lee's exhausted yet enraged visage staring down at you, his ears turning crimson, indicating just how enraged he is.
you tried to calm him down by showing him the dinner tray while trying to even out your breathing.
“i’m just bringing you dinner–”
“i’ll eat dinner when I want to! you don’t have to come all up at my face all the damn fucking time!” as he yells at you, he flings his arm around, knocking the tray off your arms and causing the supper to spill all over your front.
you were too preoccupied with stopping the tears from running down your face as you glanced at him regretfully to notice the boiling heat of the soup soaking your shirt.
“i-i’m sorry, lee,” you whispered before closing the door for him, picking the tray up, and running down the steps to throw everything down the sink.
maybe you’re too much for lee. he said it himself.
maybe staying away would be better. he’s distancing himself from you for a reason so why did you keep pushing yourself onto him?
“fuck” you cursed at yourself as you reached for the mop in the closet.
“why do I always have to fuck everything up?!” you hit yourself on the head before walking up the stairs and starting to clean up the fallen dinner on the floor.
you weren't aware that lee was looking at you with guilty eyes.
you didn’t sleep beside him that night which made his heart heavy. heavier than all the work that’s got him so stressed lately. he stayed up all night staring at the ceiling, recalling all the times he's been terrible to you while you were probably only checking on him.
you were attempting to fix the situation, while he was only making it worse.
he looked at the bedside clock and read 4:00 am.
he couldn't sleep any longer, so he decided to start his day early and make amends by making pancakes for you.
his efforts came to a halt as he heard the front door open and saw you dressed up with a duffel bag slung over your arm. where were you going?
“sweetheart?” he couldn't care less about the cracks in his voice. he was just interested in hearing your voice.
“i’ll be gone for a while. sorry for making you feel worse.” his heart sank when he heard your voice was raspy. it only gets that way when you cry, and the thought of him being the cause of your tears makes him feel awful.
he couldn’t let you go.
as much as he hates himself for making you cry, he didn’t want to let you go. he didn’t want you to leave him.
“i didn’t mean it. i am so sorry, sweetheart.” he pulls you against his chest, a hand behind your head while the other is on your back to keep you close against him.
he couldn't feel you holding him back, which made his heart ache even more, yet he blames himself for that.
“i love you so much, sweetheart. i’ve been horrible to you yet you still take care of me,” he cries against your neck, his hands grabbing onto you desperately.
“i’ll make it up to you, i promise. i’ll make it up. i love you so much, sweetheart. we’ll get through this.”
he pulled back, noticing your forearms looking a little different from before.
the scene from last night had him clenching his jaw. the image of the hot soup spilling all over you makes his head pound in anger. anger for himself.
“i’m so sorry, sweetheart. i hurt you,” he whispers as he gently runs his thumb over your skin.
“i will make it up to you. i’ll spend the rest of my life making it up to you if I have to.”
his heart skips a beat as he draws you back into an embrace, the softness of your hands pressing against his back warming his heart.
if you’re stepping back from him, he’ll take two steps more. he'll go to any length to get you back. to show you that he loves you and will always adore you. he won't allow you to take a step back too far.

shower antics – l.b

request — Number 8 with Lee? Maybe he's come back from long day and his girl just joins him? 8. shower sex lee bodecker x reader
18+ only, minors dni!
— warnings: very soft Lee, rough and unprotected sex because they married (wrap it up besties) good ol' love making in the shower, breeding kink, lee has a wife-kink, change my mind, fluff
— wordcount: 1.3k+
— this is a repost from my old account, I'm slowly going to put my old stuff on here since I'm going to deactivate the other!
Tumblr media
The door falls back into its lock behind Lee, dropping his keys in the colorful bowl on the side table and toes his shoes off– his wife would lose it if she noticed his dirty shoes against the mopped floor. The smell that penetrates his nostrils is one of his favorites.
Hanging his hat on the coat rack along with his leather jacket, Lee saunters to the place that draws him in the most and the place where he knows he'll find her; the kitchen. And she's exactly there, back facing him as she's hunched over one of her many books.
"Hey, sweetheart."
She hums quietly, gaze glued on the pages underneath her.
Lee praises himself lucky every single minute of the day with a wife as beautiful as her, perfect in every way possible and Lee still wonders how someone like her would ever fall for someone like him– so young and so pretty for someone so old and..him..he'd had looked better back in the days, when the booze had not taken over his life– she'd made him better his life with one simple sentence.
'If you stop drinkin' like it's your last day on earth, I might pick up on that date, sheriff.'
and he did and got his hands on every piece of candy ever since– she loved it, assured him many times that his belly was the cutest thing and a flat services don't make nice pillows, and that he was in fact one giant teddy bear just for her.
His feet drag him to the stove, the smell begging him to pick up the lid from the Dutch oven pot– the smell and sight of his favorite dish causing a smile on his lips.
"Did I forget an anniversary or somethin'?"
Putting the lid back on, Lee walks back to his wife and as he stands behind her, he leans down, caging her in between the table and his body, lee places a kiss on the back of her neck and rests his head on her shoulders.
"I heard in your voice you weren't having a nice day today."
And she's right, he didn't have a nice day– the new deputy causing some trouble with the paperwork, the old man from uphill calling him in for a pig gone wild and his sister on his ass all day long. It was a long day.
"You're too good for me, sweetheart," nuzzling his nose in the crook of her neck, he places a soft kiss right behind her ear "gonna take a shower first, you coming?"
"I've showered already."
"What, without me?" Lee groans.
"I was cold, lee– it had been pouring when I was on my bike to get groceries."
Lee hums and kisses her on the neck one last time "I'll be right back then."
Standing up straight and slightly disappointed, Lee makes his way to the bedroom, finding some comfortable clothes and lays them on the bed– undressing himself, he hangs his uniform on the chair nearby, naked, Lee saunters to the bathroom across the hall. The cold tiles underneath his feet sent a shiver down his spine.
It takes a while before the running water turns warm enough to be enjoyed and as he steps under the stream of water, lee relaxes even more so when he catches the silhouette of his wife through the shower curtains.
She doesn't say a word and neither does he when she pushes the curtains aside and holds onto the hand Lee had held out to step in the shower carefully. The silence is comfortable as they take turns to wash each other but the sight of his wife taking care of him, doing all these things to show she loves him as much as him, makes the blood run to his cock.
Wrapping his arms around her back, lee pulls her flush against his body, erect cock nudging her stomach, catching her eyes through his lashes, lee bends his head slightly to press a sweet kiss to her lips.
"You have a problem there, honey?" She smiles against his lips.
Her hand slips between their bodies and wrap her fingers around his cock, lee groans
"I think we need to make a baby, sweetheart."
A baby, something they'd been trying for for the last couple of months without any luck but they kept the hope.
"That sounds like a mighty good idea."
There's no foreplay, not this time– as she pumps his cock a few times, Lee let's go of her and takes a step back to admire her hand around him, Lee groans.
"C'mere," His hand wraps around her wrist to stop her and with on soft tug of her arms, pulls her back again– his hands now sliding between their bodies to run his finger to her folds and rubs her clit a few times, eliciting a soft moan from her lips.
"Turn around, sweetheart."
She turns around, like he'd asked her, arches her back and places both her hands flat against the cold tiles and braces herself for what's about to come– they've been here before.
Lee groans at the sight, grabs his cock and strokes himself as he takes a step forward, guiding himself towards her cunt and slides the tip of his dick through her folds before pushing himself in fully.
They both moan out in pleasure.
Placing both his hands on her sides, his fingers dig into her skin as he holds her in place, his hips meeting her ass with each slow thrust.
Lee groans at the feel of her walls clenching around his dick and takes it as his sign to slam his hips against her ass a little rougher– rough, like he always was after a bad day.
His belly against the skin of her ass and his balls slapping against her core thrusts into her with force– he's too lost in his own world and needs to put a baby inside her that he doesn't even register the lovely, loud moans coming from his wife.
Feral like an animal.
Lee wraps one of his arms around her waist as he leans forwards, his belly against her back, the new position giving him a new angle to bury his cock even deeper into her cunt.
It's dangerous, really, rough sex in in shower, they nearly broke bones the last time they did but mee can't seem to slow down, hips snapping against her erratically– he really needs to put that baby inside of her.
Her walls keep clenching around his cock, ready to milk his seed– Lee moans and pulls her body with his as he stands back straight; hand on the back of her head as he pushes her against the wall.
"Shit, baby girl, going to fill you up if you keep doing that."
"Put a baby in me, lee." She whines through each harsh and deep thrust, his cock rubbing the spot deliciously.
An animalistic growl pushes past Lee's lips, cock twitching inside of her, ready for his release. He slides his hand between her body and the wall and let's his hand roam to her clit and rubs it in deep circles, making her a moaning mess.
"Fuck..lee–"
"Cum for me, sweetheart,"  Lee groans out of breath "I want to fill up the sweet little pussy of mine."
It doesn't take much, two more thrusts of his hips and a rub on her clit for Lee to give her a mind blowing orgasm, legs shaking and toes curling. Her walls that clench around him just a bit tighter than before makes Lee moan along with her as he fills her up with his seed– thrusting every single drop deep inside her.
Lee chuckles "if this didn't put a baby in you–" He gets interrupted by her tired voice.
"Shit lee, I don't think I turned off the stove."

I tried reading Worth the Candle
Juniper understands things in terms of stories, so I tried to understand him in terms of story, too. I had the horrifying realization that the character he most reminds me of is Hal from Megamind.
(Also, all the stuff about narratives, with the past, present, and future all rewritten to create challenges and opportunities for a single person, might actually be L.B. Lee’s worst nightmare. If you thought my little superhero story was creepy . . .)

-Top Cinéma 2017-
1. Call Me by Your Name – Luca Guadagnino
2. Good Time – Benny & John Safdie Parce que ton cœur va battre à toute vitesse pendant 1 heure 40 minutes.
3. The Florida Project – Sean Baker
4. The Killing of a Sacred Deer – Yorgos Lanthimos
Parce qu’on ne peut se passer de phrases comme « can i have your mp3 player when you’ll be dead » ou encore « Our children are dying but yes i can make you mashed potatoes ».
6. Get Out – Jordan Peele
7. The Square – Ruben Östlund
8. Shin Godzilla - Hideaki Anno and Shinji Higuchi

Storm: Contextual Statement
Our aim was to create a poignant, engaging, experience that stays with a participant and starts a discussion on the way we deal with, and relate to, stress. Storm is an interactive installation that allows participants to separate themselves from their negative thoughts, and then see them washed away. We wanted to create an installation that provides a unique perspective on their own thoughts.
There is a silent epidemic of mental stress in our society, and levels of people suffering from stress is the highest in recent years (Clay, R. A., 2011). This isn’t only in America, but here in New Zealand as well (Stock, R., 2017). Mental stress has major health effects, including heart disease (Krantz, D.S. & McCeney, M.K., 2002; Thorn, B.E., Pence, L.B., et al., 2007). Unfortunately, stress is accepted as an unavoidable factor of living in a modern society as the risks are unknown.
This became our cause for the project, we wanted to make some positive impact for this stress issue but decided that just raising awareness wouldn’t be the most effective, and could be counterproductive; the long-term effects of mental stress are stressful themselves. Storm is an installation that aims to teach participants and viewers a useful technique for dealing with real world stress, without being forceful.
One of the influences for the installation was the practice of mindfulness. Stress often manifests as a feeling of drowning in your own thoughts, and being at the mercy of these negative internal voices. An effective mental technique for de stressing or even stopping a panic attack is to see your thoughts as separate from yourself and observe them objectively rather than reacting. This is a core tenet of meditation and mindfulness (Lee, C., n.d.), and is one that takes practice to master. We wanted our project to give the sense of using this technique; if we could simulate the sensation of separating your ‘observing self’ from your thoughts then it would be much easier for people to continue practicing it.
Interacting with Storm, you become your observing self, looking out into your psyche, and seeing your thoughts. As they appear, the rain washes them off your window, and the negative weight is gone or lessened; from both the act of writing and proclaiming the stress (Pennebaker, J. W., & Evans, J. F. 2014), and also the cathartic visual of it being washed away by the drops of rain.
The project komorebi by Leslie Nooteboom (n.d) is a generative sunlight pattern projector. It creates patterns of light filtering through trees or off water. It generates these ephemeral phenomena without the environment that created them, and gives you a new appreciation for these small details. We all really liked the idea of showing an environment through its experiential by-products. Our Storm environment reflects this concept – the sound, obscured background, and raindrops create a surreal phantom environment that you feel a part of, but can’t see for itself. This supports the idea of looking into a mind – things are dreamlike and details are hazy, and the focus is more on the overall feeling.
Another influence was Text Rain, an installation by Romy Achituv & Camille Utterback (1999), where letters fall down on a screen and can be interacted with a camera. The letters settle on shapes on the screen.
