Why don’t you seem happy? Mia - Ah… Well… I would have to move to San Myshuno. I wake up feeling different, as if there is a new purpose humming within me. It's barely there, I admit, but I do know it wasn't there before. Maybe it's because for the first time I felt welcome? Sure, sure, SUUUUURE, it was by a vampire, an actual blood sucking leech on two legs but...I was feeling welcome for the first time in a long time. That I could be part of something or rather part of whatever they have planned. I'm not sure what I'm stepping into, or rather if I'm stepping into anything at all.

Whatever the day decides to throw my way brownies shall help me prepare for it. At least that's what I'm telling myself. I'm a bit delusional, as you can tell, just let me have my delusions?

So I do the usual, clean my floors and myself and end up watching TV any ways which is a box full of delusions. Just trying to pass time I guess, I don't know. Honestly, what even is my life?

Well, it's Friday, so something has to happen. Things usually happen on Friday's, right?

And I was right, something DOES happen A knock at the door and on the other side some random guy. A handsome random guy, I should add, calling himself 'Niklas Krausser'. It's a name I'm sure to remember because it belongs to a man ridiculously hot. Tall, well defined features, and a bit of a presence to him. Hard to explain. There is a sense of magic to him, I know that at once. As they say, it takes one to know one.

"And what brings you to my door, Niklas?" I ask, pretending to be casual despite this unexpected twist to my day.

"I've heard a lot about you," his reply has a smoothness to it. "But..."

"But?"

"There's not much magic to you after all," he continues and now I think he's sizing me up. I should be worried, after all, there are people out there who would like me dead but I'm guessing if that was his intention I would be already. "There's a flicker there, faint....barely noticeable at all."

"Sorry to disappoint," I feel a little stung and a need to defend myself. "I've been excluded from the super secret magic club all of my life so you can't blame me."

"Heh, fair enough," he says with a chuckle. "If its any consolation you're not missing out on much," his eyes linger on me a little longer and I'm starting to realize he's not sizing me up for my magical abilities. "May I?" he asks with a tilt of his head.

Ladies, it's not wise to let strange men into your home but my life needs a little spice so why not?

Mr. Krausser settles himself comfortably on the couch in my very plain and lame living room. He doesn't fit here. The bare walls and cheap furniture make him stand out a little more than he should. He lounges as if he's a king, full of confidence, talking about the weather and local news at first before we get into what he's likely really here for. Magic.

"You should know, magic is quite overrated," he says waving his hand as if to emphasize this point.

I'm blinking, confused, because, "How can magic be overrated?"

"Don't be silly, Gracelyn, it's all a bit shallow, isn't it?"

And now I'm crossing my arms, demanding more of an explanation. "Shallow? Some can bend reality with, can't they?"

He shrugs because this is an argument I'm sure he's heard before. "But should we allow others to bend reality? Is it truly worth it?"

"Yeaaa...." I'm not a big fan of philosophy.

"Most of us," he continues. "About 99% actually, can't do much. Determine the flip of a coin or your typical parlor tricks," again a hand wave, he makes it all seem rather boring.

"Yes but, a coin flip could change the future? Butterfly effect?" he's not moving, another shrug of those shoulders of his. "You could at least use it for better, clean up big with it, walk out a winner."

"Yes, sure, I guess," he's not at all convinced. "Remember, the realm frowns upon such things, so what is it really useful for?" He smirks, thinking I am defeated and perhaps I am. I'm no expert on magic after all.

He's right. The Realm has strict rules that apply, ironically, all outside of the realm, from what I understand. A spellcaster cannot use magic to manipulate others or alter the world in their favor in any way. You'd be in a world of trouble for making yourself rich as the wealth brings you power and your punishment? Let's just not talk about the punishments.

"So then, why are you here?" I narrow my eyes at him, trying to draw out his purpose. "To deter me from wanting to learn it because-"

"Actually, I have no idea why I'm here!" he says throwing up his hands and looking truly perplexed.

"What?" Okay, that catches me off guard? I was expecting some serious conversation, you know, another warning. 'Don't pick up any magical books you little witch or else!' but instead I just get some clueless but clean cut nice looking guy dropping by for no reason at all? I can't help but to start laughing. "Okay, what is this about?"

He takes a long and dramatic sigh and stands, dusting himself off and then heads right for the door as if he had accomplished his goal but he doesn't get too far before I stop him.

"Look, umm, Gracelyn, this might be a mistake," he tells me, suddenly lacking the confidence that he walked in here with. "Which is wrong, mistakes don't happen, not with me, I've been led wrong before but-"

"Buuuut? But what?" I interrupt, close enough to deny him exit because now my curiosity wants to keep him here so that I can get a little more out of him. "What is this about?"

"I-it's destiny, you know? Fate?" there is an earnest energy to his voice now, his tone telling me that whatever he's going on about he truly believes it. I'm just not sure what he's talking about. "Do you believe in that? Believe in fate?"

"Maybe," I hesitate, what else am I to say. This is the same guy who said magic was overrated not that long ago and now he's asking me to believe in it? "It could be some kind of magic, right? What is this about?"

"It's my watch, Gracelyn," he holds it up for a second, lightly tapping the glass of its face. "It leads me, guides me, to....well, fate, I guess. I've been following it all of my life and wherever it points, I go, especially when I'm lost and well...here I am, at this house, with you."

"O-oh..." well if this is a pick-up line it's rather creative. I'm a little thrown off though, trying to process it. Magic is real, of course it is, who am I to deny it? Yet if what he's saying is true... "So, let me get this straight, your watch led you to me or-"

"Or it's led me to this house," he says quietly, seemingly as confused to his purpose as I am. "Which I guess is possible but..." he lets that thought hang, rubs the back of his neck and takes a deep breath. "I need to go, I guess I'll figure it out later, huh? Like I said, magic is soo overrated."

But after he left I found myself staring at the door. He's right. There was magic in that watch, definitely, I could feel it. Even if it was just a hint, it was there and he was her. I'm not sure what that means, maybe it means nothing at all, or maybe I'm just a hopeless romantic dreaming that I'm living in a fairytale and I've met my prince charming...

Faba stood before her fires, losing herself amongst the dancing flames, letting their light reveal snatches of the world beyond. The flue flames cackling and spitting, telling her of what was to come, telling her that the world was changing. Not only the one she once called home, but all of the worlds, every where.

The balance was shifting and it was impossible to tell which way it was shifting. Good? Bad? That's all a matter of perspective, isn't it? Change was neither but it was always inevitable.

In this case, her focus was on the girl called Gracelyn. Faba had been tasked with watching her for some time as she was exiled due to the punishment of her parents. Innocence, caught in the wrongdoings of another, she knew the story all too well, but Faba wasn't interested in Gracelyn's past, it was her future. Her potential a flame waiting to ignite, but who would spark the match?

"So, did it work?" Simeon asked, fixed on the mirror above the fireplace and on both of their reflections. To him, the fire didn't have magic, he never quite understood what Faba saw in it but he was no seer. She could read it as if it were a book.

"Maybe," she mumbles, still lost in its tales. "Time will tell."

"Faba..." Simeon's voice was low in warning. "A lot is riding on this, everything is riding on this, will the two pair?" He didn't need to speak their names, no, there was power in names and when one speaks yours they tie your destiny to you and he wanted to keep Gracelyn's fate far from his own. At least for now.

According to Faba, Gracelyn had several possible futures and according to her she was doing all she could to nudge her down the most preferable one. Like some twisted fairytale she had manipulated Niklas' watch, speeding up time, speeding up his fate. He was meant to meet her, Faba did see that, but it was a little later in her life, not now. Niklas was a protege of Simeon, a promising one at that, she just hoped this would be best for the both of them.

"Well?" Simeon asked, desperate. His plan was simple but...

"Time isn't linear, Simeon, you know that," she said, not turning to look back at him because she thought this plan was rash and foolish. "They have met, that much I know. What happens now I cannot say."

hiii! i'm rereading fallen angel for the thousandth time (and loving it all over again <33) and i was curious about your thought process behind the 6 disciples of magic. so there's practical, mischief, untamed, alchemy, sages, and dark magic, right? but what are the different abilities for each practice? for practical, mischief, and untamed, are their abilities based on the spells the game has for them? and if so, what are the abilities for those who are alchemists, sages, and dark magic users?

Hi there! and thank you for reading :) (bare with me, I am recovering from a food coma lol) I explained it a bit here but I have altered it since I wrote that post and even since I've shared Fallen Angel. As I spent more time with my lore/story off screen, I started to expand on it more which I'm anxiously waiting to share in the next installment; COTF.

Anywho :) I'm just gonna slap my yap session under the cut:

Yes, Untamed, Practical and Mischief magic in Fallen Angel function like the ones in game (minus the ability to teleport. I took that out because I wanted that to be a unique ability tied to certain type of very strong magic users) Spellcasters do just that- they cast spells. They can grow and enhance their magic ability by attending schools in the Magic Realm and also by appertenticing. Without a formal education, their magic is weak.

Spellcasters are born with an inclination for a particular practice. It's why they cannot perform each other's magic. It's why Simeon can't heal, or why Morgyn became a spy for L. Faba because she could perform spells that they needed to look young. That's what makes each Spellcasters vital to each other and to their society.

Healing Magic is the ability to heal through magic however, It's something innate within the spellcaster that makes their magic able to heal. When Grace was born, her parents were healers, their parents were healers. Her magic heals others and she can do so through touch.

Alchemy is inspired by Fullmetal Alchemist, if you watched the show. This practice is heavily science based. Alchemist access their magic with the use of runes which allows them to manipulate/alter matter. That's one of the ways Tomax fought towards the end of the story, he used a rune to trap L. Faba. He also used a rune to phase they the prison wall when he was thrown into isolation for fighting Simeon.

Dark Magic is the use of dark spiritual energy to cast hexes and curses. It's a closed practice passed down through the female heirs of the Najares Witch Coven.This practice centers around their deity who gave this Selvadoradian witch coven full access to it because they offered their bloodline to in exchange for it. (to put it frankly, they sold their soul for it). And that's who Adelina is in those flashbacks. She's a Dark Witch, thus the Sage of Dark Magic.

Sages are just the masters of their craft. Once a Spellcaster completes school and university they can apprentice to become the next Sage. Simeon, L. Faba, Grace, Tomax and Morgyn are all masters of their practice, they are the the top dogs Spellcasters lol Adelina is the only option for Sage of Dark Magic since she's the only one who can use it- so whether she was a master or not didn't apply to her. She was special because her magic is desired by pretty much every Spellcasters. It's also why she was very influential and popular amongst her peers and why L.Faba was ready to turn on her peers if it meant she could find a way to use it.

TLDR: Fallen Angel's Spellcasters/Sages are like the ones in game, I made up Healing Magic (they be healing) Alchemy is spicy sexy science magic via runes, Dark Magic is a closed practice because witches post colonization of Selvadorada sold their soul for it. (They can cast hexes and curses and send spirits to haunt you if you piss them off- all kinda crazy shit lololol)

Noe Bodi Gameplay: Day 28, Part 2

Where we last left Felix (@madfeary), he had just touched down in the Realm Of Magic, looking for his favorite teacher.

Who is NOT Simeon Silversweater, the Practical Magic Sage.

But it's "Talk Like A Pirate Day," and Felix loves nothing more than to rile up ol' Silversweaty, so this was a perfect opportunity to hit him with a nice, "AHOY ME MATEY!"

As expected, Simeon was not amused. But that was the point. :)

Then the Great Untamed Sage, Morgyn Ember, came up the stairs

....and Felix didn't bother waiting around for Simeon's lecture before going to them and giving a goofy bow!

And since Morgyn is Morgyn, they gave a goofy bow right back!

I think Morgyn was in an especially choatic mood today. There is no other reason why, when Felix asked for a new spell to learn, Morgyn would gift him "ZIP-ZAP," the spell that jolts electricity through another sim.

But Felix loved it. And promised to master it ASAP.

Meanwhile, Simeon was doing some potion work with--guess who?

HIMBO THUNDER (@occultradio)!

And when coming downstairs, Felix saw a double opportunity: to annoy Simeon and mingle with a cute occult, his favorite pastime.

"Oh I think he likes me."

And Felix even flustered Thunder by complimentaing his "strong arms."

With that mission accomplished, Felix wandered into the kitchen where L.Faba, the Mischief Magic Sage, was making herself some lunch.

If he hadn't been so obsessed with Untamed magic, Felix would have definitely been a star in L. Faba's brand. So she's his second favorite.

Felix gave him the same "Ahoy Me Matey" greeting as everyone else...

But I guess once they sat down and actually chatted, Felix got irritating and Ronan got irritatED.

It might have had something to do with L. Faba's clear fondness for Felix, when Ronan would want all that fondness for himself (AS A STUDENT! NOT IN THE OTHER WAY!)

Felix could obviously sense the jealousy because he was too peppy getting up from the table. "Ah, well, I must be off now, Ta-Ta!"

And the little shit went on home.

The sun hadn't set fully yet, so Felix enjoyed a couple of hours practicing the Zip-Zap spell. First with hands...

Then with his wand, whom he named Gazelle.

And I guess during practice, he accidentally misspoke and learned a whole new spell, Inferniate!

Congratulations!

The last thing he did that day was experiment on his cauldron. Nothing specifically came from that, but it gave his arms a good workout. Not like he needs it ;).

And then the Suave Snob Slipped Into Slumber. Today was a good day.

Glimmer Brook, Dimanche 25 Septembre 1910

Nous sommes à présent à une semaine du mariage, plus nous approchons de la date plus je suis nerveux. Serai-je un bon époux pour ma Greta ? Sera-t-elle heureuse au quotidien à mes côtés ? Autant de questions auxquelles je n’ai pas de réponses.

Je suis parti quelques jours à Forgotten Hollow à la fin de l’été. Mes parents, très heureux à l'annonce de mes noces toutes proches, se sont voulus rassurants. Selon eux, tout ira pour le mieux. Leur seul regret est qu'ils ne pourront malheureusement pas être présents à la cérémonie. Par contre, ils ont vraiment insisté sur le fait que je devrais dire la vérité à Greta, lui avouer ma véritable nature avant le mariage. Si nos sentiments sont aussi forts que je le décrit elle m’acceptera tel que je suis. Et selon mon père, elle pourrait même vouloir me rejoindre dans le monde de la nuit et devenir vampire elle-même.

Je devrais en effet, il a raison, mais pour être tout à fait franc, j'ai peur de la perdre si ce n'était pas le cas.

Glimmer Brook, Lundi 26 Septembre 1910

J'ai reçu la visite de Greta ce matin, elle est simplement venue me dire bonjour et m'annoncer qu'elle souhaitait attendre le jour de la cérémonie avant de nous revoir. En effet, c'est une tradition de sa famille qu'elle aimerait perpétuer. J'ai donné mon accord bien sûr ! Je ne peux absolument rien refuser à cette femme …

Elle m'a dit en partant que la semaine allait lui sembler durer une éternité, et moi, sans réfléchir perdu dans ses magnifiques yeux roses, je lui ai répondu que j'aimerais passer mon éternité à ses côtés.

Ma belle Greta m'a sourit et m'a regardé avec tant d'amour … j'aurais pu lui avouer toute la vérité à ce moment-là. Oui, j'aurais pu mais je ne l'ai pas fait. Avant de partir, elle m'a embrassé sur la joue tout en me glissant un "à dimanche". Oui, la semaine va être vraiment très longue.

Glimmer Brook, Jeudi 28 Septembre 1910

Que de rencontres et de visites en ce début de semaine ! Mais, pas des plus sympathiques je dois bien l'avouer.

Il y a d'abord eu Darrel, qui voulait me faire entendre raison. Selon lui, ce mariage n'est pas la meilleure idée que j'ai eu. En effet, comment vais-je cacher mon secret à une personne qui vit au quotidien avec moi ? Après tout, je ne peux pas avaler de nourriture autre que du plasma sans être malade. Sans compter que je ne dors quasiment pas … voir jamais.

J’ai retrouvé Grace dans le monde magique, qui m’a également sermonné. Puis, il y a eu la Sage L.Faba que j’ai croisée sur le chemin du portail. Ces mots n'ont pas été des plus aimables.

Un autre, Morgyn Ember qui s'est voulu moralisateur alors que c'est la première fois que nous nous croisions. Il m'a tellement agacé avec ses lois sur les relations entre espèces, je ne suis même pas concerné : je ne suis pas magicien. J'avais un petit creux, alors je l'ai croqué, tant pis pour lui. Je suis certain qu'il ne se souviendra de rien, et les jeteurs de sorts guérissent vite. Le temps qu'il revienne à lui, la trace de morsure aura disparu. Et je ne parle même pas d'Azuka, en plus je crois qu'elle est jalouse de Greta. En effet, je la soupçonne de nourrir à mon égard des sentiments plus qu’amicaux. Je devrais peut-être lui envoyer Morgyn… La seule personne qui semble se réjouir pour moi, c'est Emily, la fiancée de Darrel. C’est une femme tellement adorable !

Tous s'accordent à penser à Greta en tant qu'humaine, ils n'ont de cesse de me répéter que cette jeune fille mérite mieux qu'un vampire pour compagnon, qu'elle est en droit de trouver un homme qui vieillira à ses côtés. Mais ce qu'ils ne savent pas, c'est que j'ai le pouvoir de changer ça … si un jour elle en émet le souhait bien sûr.

Glimmer Brook, Dimanche 2 Octobre 1910

C'est le grand jour. La prochaine fois que j'écrirai dans ce journal, je serai un homme marié. La cérémonie a lieu dans quelques heures à présent. II est temps pour moi d'aller découvrir le costume que ma mère m'a envoyé il y a quelques temps déjà et d'aller me préparer.

Glimmer Brook, Lundi 3 Octobre 1910

Quelle soirée magnifique, et cette première nuit entre ses bras… Jamais je ne les oublierai.

Ce soir, lorsque je l'ai vue me rejoindre sous l'arche dans sa robe blanche, j'ai eu une bouffée de certitudes : j'aime cette femme de façon inconditionnelle et un jour, je la transformerai afin que nous passions notre éternité ensemble. La cérémonie a été très simple. Nous avons échangé nos vœux entourés de nos quelques amis, et dégusté un gâteau que la femme de Darrel a eu la gentillesse de préparer. Même si je dois l'avouer, Greta en a mangé plus que moi. En effet, je ne voulais pas risquer d'être malade. Elle m'a assuré qu'il était absolument délicieux.

Après avoir discuté un peu avec chacun de nos convives, nous avons ouvert le bal en tant que mari et femme. Ma belle épouse a exprimé toute la confiance et tout l'amour qu'elle a pour moi. J'en fis autant. Cet échange de mots tendres au creux de l'oreille fut un moment de bonheur et de joie immense, et il n'appartient qu'à nous.

Puis, très tard dans la soirée, nous sommes rentrés à la maison laissant nos amis faire la fête … Nous avons franchi la porte d'entrée ensemble, elle dans mes bras. Sans un mot, elle a enlevé mon chapeau le laissant tomber au hasard de l'entrée. Ma douce m'a alors embrassé et dit des mots que je ne reporterai pas ici.

Tout ce que je puis écrire c'est que je l'ai emmenée jusqu'à notre chambre avec le sourire aux lèvres. Cette nuit, je suis un homme comblé et alors que je la regarde dormir, je sais que les prochaines années s'annoncent magnifiques à ses côtés.
