What if Cu or Dia just extend their legs once and he falls down a flight of stairs in 5 seconds
Cu does it on accident but Dia does it on purpose All The Time

Do they follow a monarchy or the a Senate type or system and do any of them have a cosmopolitan history(ex a few being from Asia or Spain) or are just strictly Greek in origins
To start with, I think that while their culture may have been closely related to Greek culture back before The Fall, I don’t think they were strictly Greek in origin per se. Kind of like how Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, and French speakers in Europe have related cultures-- possibly due to having come from the same original cultural group-- but none of them came from the others. (Yay for being a linguistics nerd.) So with that said, I see Greek, Atlantean, and Themysciran/the-language-of-the-Amazons as related languages, and therefore related cultures that probably started out growing near and influencing each other to a certain extent.
As for the senate versus monarchy situation, I tend to see it as a blend. We know, thanks to King Nanaue Sha’ark of Nanauve that Arthur/Orin’s family are not the only royal family in Atlantis, and we also know (thanks to the tie-in comics and, iirc, a question posed on Ask Greg) that there are 7 Atlantean city-states (Poseidonis, Tritonis, Shayeris, Nanauve, Neptunos, Lemuria, and Crastinus) with several more that have been ‘lost’ over time (5 more iirc).
Note: the number of city-states varies from reality to reality, as well as if there have been any ‘lost’. I’ve seen some iterations where it’s just one, some where there were as many as 7 originally and lost 3, and those realities like in YJ where there were originally as many as 12. Unfortunately there is no consistency except within a given reality.
Tumblr media
Bearing that in mind, if Sha’ark is the King of Nanauve and Orin and his family are based primarily in Poseidonis, then the logical conclusion to my way of thinking is that there are royal families for each of the still-intact city-states.
Where this gets really interesting is that it would then imply some sort of royal council among the various royal families, and since Orin’s family is implied to have the most power I feel like it’s fair to consider them the High Royal Family of Atlantis (thereby making Orin High King, Mera High Queen, etc.) and the other kings/queens/rulers being vassal-kings/queens/etc. Their family being the High Royals is something that I don’t think the various peoples of Atlantis came to easily, so I think it took a LOT of talking, negotiating, and so on at some point in Atlantean history that ultimately led the other royal families at that time to conclude that Arthur’s ancestor was the most fair out of all of them at that time and could be trusted to keep in mind the needs of all of their peoples and try to make sure those needs were met.
And while the canon basis for this next point varies depending on the reality about whether it’s present or absent, I like the thought that Atlantean lines of succession don’t necessarily follow who the eldest in a set of siblings (or in some instances cousins) is, but rather who the current ruler on the throne feels would be best for the job out of their children or siblings’ (or even more rarely cousins’) children. Where this carries over to who has the status of ‘High Ruler’ among the various city-states is that I think it’s a status that-- at least in theory-- shifts from family to family depending on which person on one of the thrones is the most fair and able to compromise to meet the needs of as many as possible and not just the people of their own city-state. (Which could imply, with the way I headcanon Atlantean lines of succession, as having a strong tendency to fall to Orin’s family due to them having a long history of making certain that those among them who were most able to meet that requirement were the ones who got the throne.) That council would be responsible for making certain that the concerns of the various city-states are put forward to be worked out and negotiated as needed so no one city-state would end up with their needs unmet or entirely ignored. (And ngl, I can imagine Orin getting a headache at times while trying to mediate between the other rulers until they can come to a consensus.)
Below the various ruling families are the elected positions (which is diving straight into headcanon territory because canon hasn’t even given us a hint to this level), which-- based on Ancient Roman social and political structures (at the time when I was initially nosing around this stuff it was laid out a little more clearly than Ancient Greek)-- I would see as starting with the consuls (with the consul magistrates having the most power) and going on down the list. That said, with the higher positions-- while not hereditary-- I wouldn’t be surprised if there was a long history of certain noble families ‘inheriting’ their positions due to parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents training their kids to follow in their wake. (Yes, I headcanon some atlanteans having ridiculously long lives due to the effects of magic. To the point where I can imagine there being some people who are easily 300+ and carry a lot of social and political influence due to how long they’ve been around and how powerful they would have to be magically in order to live that long.)
As for cosmopolitan mixing, absolutely. While they’ve probably got plenty of reason to be isolationist, I doubt relationships with surface-dwellers are unheard of in their history. (I’m personally fond of the idea of there being a subset of Atlantean-Polynesian diaspora, some of which could easily reside somewhere in Atlantis and some could reside in various places in Oceania.) Regardless of which non-Atlantean cultures they mingled with, I think it’s safe to say those people were predominantly of various cultures living close to the oceans.

@ladyofarrows4701 replied to your post “Is Hal a hotshot pilot? Absolutely. But can he back up those hotshot...”
I’m wouldn’t be surprised if Bruce had asked Hal to be a personal test pilot(both argue over Hal’s pay)during the early attempts at the Batjet
This is canon now

What would Bartholomew Roberts be like in a modern au, don’t rush too answer just food for thought
You know those people who are obssessed with the Pirate Era (me) to the point they look up absolutely everything about it, from individual pirates to the different Codes they followed etc etc? That’s what he’d be like in a Modern AU
Job wise he probably runs a secret mobster business but disguises it as a sweet little fisherman shack that sells, like, shark teeth and hand-carved wooden trinkets

ladyofarrows4701 replied to your post “please ask me stuff about the Lanterns in my verse cuz i can guarantee...”
In that case, do any of the Lanterns have a political position(prime ministers, diplomats or ambassadors)or where just military only and negotiators
John is one of leaders of the Corps and has the highest military position, just like Kilowog. Hal and Kyle act as ambassadors and Guy chooses to stay on OA unless he’s needed elsewhere.
Jessica and Simon have only been Lanterns for a few years (about 4 - 5 at most) so they’re not high enough in the ranks yet for anything political, though they have gone with Hal and/or Kyle before to get experience

I can see Hal just giving Damian space plants/pets...
precisely! Damian is a little art nerd so he adores all the things Kyle makes for him and Hal absolutely gets him absurd space pets when Bruce isn’t looking
