There was supposed to be a scene in the college au fic beach chapter where Chilchuck runs into Laios’ tits and gets knocked out cold and everyone ran over to him, meanwhile Toshiro is going through the five stages of grief of rejecting Laios as he screams “CHILCHUCK SPEAK TO ME” and Senshi is giving him CPR

Unfortunately this is was not able to fit into the final draft. It happened in spirit, however. Also, to Kabru and Mithrun that was the funniest shit they’ve ever seen.

if i were to think about it chilchuck sounds like a miserable medieval history adjunct professor. he's divorced. he sees his daughters like twice a month and they're the reason for his will to live, when he doesn't see them, he hates everything and everyone. he doesn't really like his job. he has tenure. he can do what he wants. when his students ask him if he could repeat the assignment he just says "No." and tells them all to leave his class because lecture time has ended and he refuses to go another minute over. his class exam average is below 40 percent and he doesn't give a fuck. he's waiting for his next paycheck to buy drinks at the local pub.

senshi's a culinary professor. he loves cooking and he loves teaching people how to cook. he's been doing it his whole life. he cooks for the gang during dnd meetings. whenever he's in a kitchen he makes it his own, even if the kitchen doesn't belong to him. if it weren't for him everyone would probably die of dehydration or live on cup ramen and frozen food for entire semesters. he leaves pastries on chilchuck's desk because chilchuck has to mentally prepare himself to help teach a class of 50 uninterested people that do anything but actually pay attention for nearly 3 hours. the pastries are actually what keeps chilchuck going. chilchuck is the one that asks senshi if he wants to go drinking. senshi is a really good listener, chilchuck finds that hot, and tries to sleep with him, but senshi stops him and asks if he could just come over to his apartment and senshi will cook a nice warm meal for him instead and take it slow, because he's a gentleman.

chilchuck actually agrees to it and has a good time. they sleep together but don't have sex, and he wakes up in the morning like damn, i actually have a crush at my big age? that's crazy.

this becomes a regular thing for them until chilchuck can't take it anymore and grabs senshi by the beard and is like "WE NEED TO FUCK. RIGHT NOW." and senshi goes "okay :) after dinner with me first :)" (they have sex).

"how did they get into the dnd club van" falin slapped a bunch of posters around campus with cute doodles and senshi saw it on his way to his classroom. he asked chilchuck if he wants to join sometime in case he's sick of teaching hopelessly unmotivated students. chilchuck thinks about it for a long time but one day when he's so stressed from teaching he joins a meeting and promises it's just "one time only" and ends up becoming a regular.

he brings his daughters to the dnd meetings and marcille is so happy because they're so cute. most of the time they just want to play minecraft and are on their expensive smartphones but they're nice girls. sometimes namari and kabru buy them fast food behind senshi's back when they don't feel like eating healthy.

Fun little tidbit is that in the college au kabru and laios totally had a thing in the past but it was for a case study experiment so whenever toshiro asks for sex advice kabru’s like oh honey I’m so glad you asked because there’s no preparing for anything when it comes to laios but good luck and toshiro’s like

falin's chilling! she's into entomology and zoology. marcille's more of a philosophy/theology major but she met falin through electives and fell for her instantly. love at first sight. u-haul lesbians.

she and marcille have been dating for a while and unfortunately they have become laios' lesbian Parents when he's having his own gay crisis about toshiro. he would come to their dorm at like three in the morning with his favorite pillow because he's in his feefees and falin's just like. sighs, "i'll get the hot cocoa" and marcille says, "i'll get the couch blanket" and they listen to laios vent his feelings about how cool and pretty and out of his league toshiro is and that he doesn't know what to do because he's just some lame broke college student that lives vicariously through their dnd club meetings because he wants to be as legendary as he is in his campaign.

falin and marcille listen to him mope and console him. marcille is just looking at falin like "do you think he's gonna cry himself to sleep anytime soon" and falin shakes her head and pats laios' head, saying "it's okay brother, i'm sure toshiro's just as nervous as you are. maybe he has his insecurities too."

and marcille's like "dude's family's fucking loaded falin, pretty sure his bodyguards have bodyguards." and laios starts sobbing even further. safe to say laios ends up sleeping over at farcilles' for like the thousandth time. marcille is praying he gets over his stupid fucking gay feelings and confess his feelings to toshiro already because not even she herself was this pathetic. but they stay with laios until he falls asleep anyway they barely get any sleep later in the morning themselves.

Toshiro tapped his foot against the ground, trying not to gaze at his phone every two seconds. Laios said he was on his way, with an unsettling amount of emojis to show how excited he was. The only thing Toshiro sent back was a simple smiley face.

Play it cool, play it cool, play it cool. Kabru's words of advice lingered in his head. He was at the carnival an hour early. Crowds of people were gathered here, traversing the park.

He was suddenly nervous that a passerby would think he was getting stood up.

"Toshiro!"

Looking up, Toshiro locked eyes with his boyfriend walking up to him - dressed in a sweatshirt and jeans. It's nothing extraordinary yet it still made Toshiro's heart jump that he made it all this way just to see him. It still didn't feel real. Toshiro smiled, standing up, and Laios spread his arms to immediately welcome him into a warm embrace.

His cypress scented cologne wafted through Toshiro's nostrils, wrapping his arms around Laios.

"Hi." He said, unable to contain his racing heart.

"Hey," Laios was just as bashful when he pulled away, smiling down at Toshiro. "Your hair's down," he said, touching a strand of Toshiro's hair, dark silk slipping between his fingers. "You look... really, really pretty." He breathed out, a tint of pinks in his cheeks as he admired Toshiro's outfit. He'd also have to thank Kabru for that, later.

Feeling his own cheeks grow hot, Toshiro smiled. "Thank you, Laios."

Laios' smile grew wider, taking Toshiro's hand in his.

"C'mon! Let's go! I'm dying to try out all the rides!"

"Excuse me?" Toshiro asked as Laios pulled him further into the park. "Did you just say all the rides?"

Laios was laughing, but Toshiro wasn't. When he said he was going to take Toshiro on every ride, he meant it. The nausea settling at the pit of Toshiro's stomach intensified by the time they got off the spinning ride.

"Please," he begged, holding onto Laios' arm. "Can we sit down somewhere?"

"Oh, you okay?" Laios' hand was on Toshiro's back, eyebrows narrowing in concern. "Sorry, we can stop going on any more rides if you want."

"No, it's fine..." Toshiro said as they sat down on one of the benches. "I'd prefer we just avoid the intense ones, is all."

"Are you sure?" For him to be so attentive and considerate like this made Toshiro's heart melt, and out of guilt, he didn't want to cut their time short. He liked Laios' company, he just had a weak stomach when it came to roller coaster rides.

"Yes." Toshiro nodded with a smile.

Laios let out a sigh of relief, grinning. "You hungry? I could get us something to eat."

"Sure."

"What do you want?"

"Um, just get anything." Toshiro didn't have a strong preference for carnival food. As long as he ate something, that was fine. He was a little hungry anyway. Laios wasted no time, telling him to wait so he could go and get them carnival food.

Toshiro tried funnel cake for the first time; it wasn't so bad. While it wasn't a favorite, it was worth seeing Laios devour an entire plate in one sitting, wiping the sugar on the corner of his lips with a napkin, only for Laios to pull him close and pepper his face with surprise kisses.

He kissed Toshiro on the lips. Toshiro tasted the sweetness, pushing Laios' face away, cheeks heating up in embarrassment.

"I've already had enough sugar."

"Really, because I need an overdose."

Toshiro snorted uncontrollably at what sounded like Laios' attempt at flirting. "What on earth is that supposed to mean?"

"You smell and taste really sweet." Laios said, like it was the easiest thing to say in the world. Toshiro averted his gaze, facepalming.

"Laios..."

Laios chuckled, taking Toshiro's hand. "Wanna check out the prize games with me?" Just like that, they were back to normal. Maybe Toshiro shouldn't be so afraid that things would be different between them. Aside from the flirting and Laios' tendencies to engage in lots of PDA, it was as if nothing had really changed at all. It made him more comfortable when they approached the prize games.

These silly games weren't really Toshiro's thing, but he didn't mind watching Laios play and cheering him on. He won, and when the employee behind the counter asked what kind of prize he would like Laios looked at Toshiro suddenly.

"Which one of those plushies you want, babe?"

The word babe caught Toshiro off-guard, then he snapped out of his daze.

"Oh, it's okay-"

"Please? Can I get you something? I really want to!"

"Laios..."

"Please!"

"You two are so adorable," the woman behind the counter commented with a fond smile. With scarlet cheeks, Toshiro sighed. He scanned over the display of prizes, plush toys sitting on a shelf. His eyes landed on a particular beetle.

Laios' eyes followed to where he was staring.

"He wants that one," he said, pointing at the horrendous beetle sitting on the middle shelf.

They left, with Toshiro holding the giant beetle to his chest. In exchange, he bought Laios a giant stick of cotton candy. They end up sharing bites out of it throughout the night, exchanging shy smiles with each other.

The last ride of the night was the ferris wheel. A ride much more suitable to Toshiro's tastes. Laios' was pointing out the window the whole time, on a tangent about something Toshiro couldn't really remember, since he was hyperfocused on their knees and arms touching, spending the ride within close proximity.

Not wanting to call it a night, they wandered the fair for some time, not really going on any rides, just enjoying each other's company. Laios goaded Toshiro into taking pictures, as they were so caught up in the fun it had slipped his mind. Laios had also taken pictures of Toshiro as they ate more carnival food, covering his face because he thought he was the opposite of photogenic, but Laios would beg to differ.

Toshiro took the bus while Laios drove, so he drove Toshiro back to his dorm later.

They're recounting all the memorable parts of their time at the fair, Laios talking animatedly and making Toshiro laugh, stopping at his door. Thankfully, Kabru would be spending the night with Mithrun, so neither of them had to worry about their moment together being interrupted.

Their laughter faded into loud silence. Toshiro holding onto his rhino beetle and staring down at his feet, and Laios looking anywhere but at Toshiro.

"Um," he was the first to speak. "Did you... did you have fun tonight?"

Toshiro nodded.

"Me too," Laios grinned. "Would you... like to do this again sometime?"

"Yes," Toshiro replied. "I'd love to."

Laios played it cool at first, then he pumped his fist in the air, shouting "yes!" making Toshiro giggle.

"And Marcille and Falin were telling me that fairs wouldn't be a good idea."

"Well... they're not wrong, but," Toshiro met Laios' gaze, walking up to him and pecking him on the lips, a surge of confidence that surprised him - and Laios as well. "I had a nice time with you anyway."

Laios blinked rapidly, spluttering, cheeks beet red. Toshiro couldn't help but laugh behind his palm.

"Y-You can't do that! Toshiro! That's not fair! You're just so cute!" Laios whined, ruffling his hands in his hair, flustered by the gesture. "I wasn't ready!"

Toshiro waited patiently for him to calm down, looking at Laios. "Are you ready now?" He asked, a little coy, as it was nice to have the upper hand in this scenario.

Laios exhaled, something more intense hidden beneath his eyes that made a shiver course through Toshiro's spine.

He stepped closer, and his hands found Toshiro's cheeks, tucking his hair behind his ears. Golden eyes flickered down to Toshiro's lips.

"Mhm," Laios nodded, leaning in. "Can I kiss you again, Toshiro? Because fuck, I really want to. So badly."

Toshiro responded by using one hand to yank the string of Laios' sweatshirt, bringing his head down to slot their lips together firmly, giving Laios the opportunity to do more than just kiss - but make out right outside Toshiro's dorm for maybe an hour or two, the taste of cotton candy still on Laios' lips.

pre-relationship college au: the first time toshiro spends the night at laios' dorm it's definitely to work on an assignment together. laios and chilchuck dorm together but chilchuck is out for the night so they have the place to themselves. it's completely innocent tbh because laios has a gigantic puppy crush on toshiro and would do anything just to be in his company... when toshiro says it's getting late laios makes puppy eyes and says he'll order in and they could just watch a movie and hang out. it barely takes any convincing before toshiro gives it and laios goes "YAY" and they spend the rest of the night binging movies on the couch. laios is just infodumping lore the whole time while they eat and toshiro silently listens because he doesn't know what's going on, and laios talking over the movie makes it even more difficult to make sense of anything but a) he's really cute and b) he smells good and c) toshiro doesn't know if he should look laios in the eyes or keep his eyes on the tv because laios is staring directly at him as he talks and it's overwhelming

then toshiro falls asleep on accident because i'd imagine he's a bit of a workaholic and is sleep-deprived. laios' shoulder makes a really good pillow. meanwhile laios is texting another gc with just farlyn and marcille freaking out like GUYSHESSLEEPING ON MYSHOULEDER HE LOOKS SO CUTE WHAT DO I DO and theyre like whatever u do do Not Wake Him Up. toshiro's looks so comfortable too, so laios just grabs the throw blanket on the couch and drapes it over toshiro. they fall asleep together. it's a very cute moment.

Morning Toshiro very much regrets this though. he wakes up snuggling next to Laios and he's like oh Shit and jumps off the sofa, waking Laios up. Toshiro's insisting that he really has to go back to his dorm he's stayed way too long and that's not supposed to happen. he's grabbing his stuff and flipping his shit. laios just laughs and walks up to toshiro, and very calmly asks, "before you go, can i just make you breakfast first?"

toshiro's stomach rumbling answers that question lmao. after breakfast laios walks him back to his dorm :) toshiro turns around and shyly thanks him for breakfast and last night. laios scratches the back of his head and grins that it's no problem, and that he'd love to do it again, but without assignments involved. toshiro's like but why would we do that. laios blushes, "it's 'cause i like hanging out with you?" and it's toshiro's turn to blush and he says, "oh, okay."

Laios brights up and says "really???" his excitement is kind of confusing but it makes Toshiro snort and he nods anyway because he just can't bring himself to say no to Laios anyway. Neither of them speak about them cuddling last night like idiots. They just linger at Toshiro's dorm, not sure of what to say next, because if they do say something they'd have to leave and cut their time together short. Laios asks for a hug though, and Toshiro hugs him before he leaves. This hug, in particular, lasts just a bit longer than all their other ones. So take that as you will. :)

i love kabru so much he's actually the mastermind of this au. he's a matchmaker. i love to think he's the one that not only got laishuro together but farcille too.

his motto to toshiro is "good communication is very sexy." which doesn't work because toshiro is emotionally constipated.

and yeah he's with mithrun, i actually spoke with @lunaristes how he explained to toshiro how they got together:

"so i asked them if they were free friday night and they just stared at me and said ok, and i was like really? and they were like, sure. so since then we've been going out i guess." and toshiro's like. "excuse my language but how the fuck do you make this sound so easy?" when he's been losing his mind on what to do about his crush on one of the most popular siblings on campus. and kabru just looks at him like "what, like it's hard? i can pull anyone i want to." (it isn't. he's kabru. he's that bitch).

kabumisu are a pretty reserved couple. kind of like chilchuck and senshi they don't go overboard with PDA but everyone kinda knows/suspected they're going out bc they're always together. they're the ones giving useless, pining gay people advice on how to win the person of their dreams. they're always in sync it's scary. kabru likes telling them how he bagged mithrun because it literally took two sentences for mithrun to say "ok, whatever." and everyone's reactions would be like "what the fuck."

cant stop giggling abt the fact that college au kabru and laios was a thing and it was a social experiment for kabru like . what a silly experiment u conducted there kabru. what a fun gay lil social experiment. literally hilarious . ur mind is huge

social sciences major kabru knows his priorities. when the experiment was over he told laios verbatim that the case study has concluded and about his findings throughout the past several months of dating and laios is just like. "oh wow that's so cool! let me know what you get on your assignment then!" and he doesn't process that kabru was just breaking up with him until a week later. but they're cool now. they flirt and stuff every now and then but it's not serious kabru's the people's princess with everybody.

Kabumisu is established in my college au but I’m thinking of their get-together and want to talk more about it for the kabumisu fans.

I just watched challengers last night and I’m thinking of tennis player Mithrun being Kabru’s case study of the next several months. It’s the same he did with Laios but this time around Kabru grows genuine interest in the aloof athlete that keeps to themselves.

A slow progression of friends to lovers, of Kabru analyzing Mithrun’s tennis matches and deciding to coach them. Mithrun thinks little of it, (they think little of most things) and throughout their developing relationship Kabru starts to get invested which even surprises him. He’s there when Mithrun gets injured, (and Mithrun starts to develop feelings for Kabru in return) their recovery, and of course Mithrun isn’t stupid and asks Kabru if all of this other personal stuff is part of his project or if he has some sort of crush on Mithrun. Mithrun doesn’t have time for relationships. But they’re starting to enjoy all the attention Kabru is giving them, and as a result of Kabru’s teachings Mithrun has become an even better tennis player than before.

Hell, Kabru even learned all the ins and outs of tennis just so he could have more chances to spend time around Mithrun. This totally isn’t about the case study anymore. You have feelings, gay boy.

Of course when Mithrun asks that question, for once in his whole life Kabru is speechless. He doesn’t know how to answer that, at first he saw this cute tennis player’s game and thought they were the perfect assignment and ends up falling for them and wanting to take them on dates, see them play every day, enjoy their company, learn more about them as a person. They came to be because Kabru asked them out and Mithrun said yes but there’s an underlying progression to Mithrun appreciating Kabru for all that he’s done and allowing Kabru to court him as a reward, they’ve both learned something about themselves.

namari college au tidbits pls,,, i wanna know abt her my silly resident butch lesbian queen

ooh... my gay ass knows namari is a college athlete. so is laios. im feeling... rugby :). she's dating one of the head cheerleaders (kiki) they're literally like. thee top hottest couple.

she's a massive gymhead so when she's not practicing for games she's probably at the gym. she does jiujitsu. toshiro does kendo and aikido (i'd imagine he'd do a martial art that requires using bamboo swords in a modern au setting, but knowing hands-on combat techniques would also be invigorating for him, so he'd seek a sport that does a mix of both weapons and close combat) so by default they met each other and often practice sparring sometimes. they became fast friends.

namari's a huge dnd nerd so when she heard there was a club she was one of the first to join. she was surprised when toshiro showed up because as long as they've known each other she didn't think this sort of thing was his thing. she underestimated that by heart every single person in this au is a fucking nerd, even the jocks. (i'm looking at you, laios).

sometimes toshiro goes to see her games for support when he has free time on his hands. he prefers to go with somebody (like laios, or kabru) because when kiki and namari and together namari is making it known her beautiful gf is the only thing on her mind right now. code word for you're probably going to get third-wheeled if you hang out with the two of them, ever.

senshi doesn't like junk food on the table. when he isn't around she and kabru get the party big macs and fries and they eat it quickly and dispose of the crime scene before he comes.
