You bend down, your emotions overwhelm you. In three seconds your team has officially won the 2022-2023 NBA Championship. You raise your arms to the sky as tears of joy roll down your cheeks.

You look around to find your teammates, and they are all in the same state of pure elation. They rush over to you, hugging and celebrating. You take a moment to soak it all in, and you can't help but smile. The dream has become a reality.

You look up at the crowd, thousands of cheering fans, and you can't help but feel a sense of pride and accomplishment. You can't help but think about how far you have come, and the journey you have taken to get here. You realize that all of your hard work has paid off.

The team manager places a hat on your head, smiling as she congratulates you. You take a deep breath giving LaMelo Ball a tight hug. You two being one of the best duos to take the court in a while. You close your eyes, feeling the moment, knowing that no matter what happens, you will always have each other's back.

You break away from the hug and look around the room, your teammates cheering and celebrating your success. You laugh, feeling a sense of accomplishment.

"Y/N!" Your head turns at the sound of your name, and you're met with a few cameras pointed your way. You smile and share a look with your manager before walking over to the cameras. Lisa, an interviewer, shakes your hand and introduces herself.

You take a few moments to compose yourself, and then you start to answer her questions. "Y/N, we feel the emotion. Where is it all coming from? How do you feel after leading your team to the championship?"

You adjust your hat, letting out a breath. "I'm honored and proud. It's been a long journey, full of hard work and dedication. I'm thankful to everyone who has been a part of it. Never would I have thought I'd be the first woman to ever play in the NBA, nor even be in the finals in my first season.

—It's just so unreal and I just can't be more grateful for the opportunity I've been given. But at the same time, I know I'm here for a bigger purpose. Representing women everywhere, showing them that anything is possible if you put your mind to it. I'm ready to make history and show the world that no dream is too big."

Lisa nods at your words, moving the microphone back to her to ask another question. "Did you feel a lot of pressure on yourself being the first woman in the NBA? If so, did you use that to your advantage and how did you?"

You glance around before answering. "I didn't feel pressure because I knew I was capable. In fact, I embraced it and used it to fuel my drive to succeed. I never let the fact that I was a woman stop me from aiming for the highest achievements."

A crowd begins forming around you which includes your teammates, coaches, managers, and family members. You spot Eli in the crowd and he brings you into a tight hug, and whispers in your ear, "You did it! Congratulations!" He holds you tightly for a few seconds, and then pulls away, patting your chest. You nod at his words, smiling at your best friend.

"You almost got us in the conference finals." Eli gave you a mischievous smile and winked. "Next year, we'll get our get back on you and LaMelo." He laughs. You grin and playfully punch his shoulder. "You think you can handle us?" you asked. "Bring it on," he replied confidently.

Your eyes then meet the ones you've been looking for this entire night. Jenna blows you a kiss as she walks toward you. You dramatically drop your jaw, holding a hand over your heart.

Eli laughs at your reaction. You laugh, eyes still fixed on Jenna. She slowly moves closer, her arms outstretched. You lift her up, spinning her around in a circle. You both laugh, and Eli makes his way over to your parents. Jenna presses her lips to yours, and you swear you can feel sparks between you.

You reluctantly pull away, a giddy smile on your face. You look around, and you can tell your parents and Eli are all sharing the same joy. You have found something special in Jenna, and it feels like it is something that will never fade away. Your parents begin walking to you, holding someone out for you to take.

You smile at your son, who looks as lost as ever and taking him from your parent's grasp. He looks up at you, his eyes brown doe eyes wide. You rock him a bit, smiling at him before you glance at your parents. They smile back at you, proud of who you've become and how much you've accomplished.

Even though you having a child was a complete shocker and scared the living hell out of them, they couldn't be more proud of the parent you have become. They're happy that the two people they care about so much have found peace in each other, and that you have created a beautiful family.

They are confident that you will be able to provide and care for your child with unconditional love. They are relieved and happy that you have found each other and are creating a loving home.

Jenna smiles at you and Kian, taking in the sight of her family. You smile back, feeling a wave of relief and joy. You hug your child tightly, grateful for the opportunity to be a parent. You know that together, you will all be okay.

Jenna laughs at Kian, "He's like what's going on right now? He's so lost." You laugh with her, wiping a bit of drool off his lips. "I know right." Kian looks up at you both with a wide, toothless grin.

You and Jenna both awe at the sight, the innocence of his smile warming your hearts. Jenna leans in and gives him a kiss on the forehead. "He's so cute," she says. Eli speaks up. "I've smiled at you before Jenna and I never got a kiss on the forehead."

Jenna giggles and looks up at Eli with a twinkle in her eye. "That's because you're not as cute as Kian," she says, laughing a bit. Eli just rolls his eyes and then laughs along with the rest of them before taking Kian from you. Eli lowers his voice, whispering into Kian's ear. "If you weren't so cute, I'd fight you about it."

Kian grins and wraps his chubby arms around Eli's neck. Jenna and everyone else laughs as Eli kisses Kian's chubby cheeks. "You're the cutest, Kian," he says, laughing.

Your parents then come over and congratulate you, pulling you into tight hugs as happy tears fall down their faces. It was more than obvious that they felt like they had accomplished something extraordinary. They were so proud of you for all your hard work and dedication. They had seen you grow and mature and were relieved to see you reach your goals.

"We're so proud of you honey." You smiled, clearly overcome with emotion. You couldn't believe that your hard work had finally paid off. You thanked your parents for their unwavering support and encouragement throughout your journey.

Your dad shrugs you off, giving you a warm smile. "It's all you, kid." He pats your shoulder and you can't help but beam with pride. You knew that your parents were always there for you, and you are so grateful for their love and support.

Now back at home with Jenna, Kian, and Eli, you sit in the living room with a bowl of ice cream on your lap. You take a spoonful of the ice cream before sending a glare at Eli, "Please shut the heck up." He smiles, "Look at you! Being a good mom and not cursing in front of your son."

You shook your head and smiled. Kian just continued to crawl on the large black carpet that covered the marble flooring in your living room, oblivious to the bickering between his mom and his uncle.

Jenna walks into the living room, smiling. "Why don't you bother Olivia and not me?" Eli rolls his eyes, leaning back against the couch. "She's on tour! I miss my girlfriend."

You laugh, shaking your head. "You know she's coming back soon." Eli sighs, closing his eyes. "I know. I'm just impatient." Kian looks up, clapping his hands and squealing with laughter.

"Kian!" Kian's head turns at the sound of Jenna's voice, his face lighting up. Jenna kneels down on the carpet and opens her arms to Kian. "He's so whipped man." You mumble, Eli nods in agreement, "I would be too."

You send another glare at Eli before throwing a pillow at his face. Kian lifts himself with help from the leather couch in front of him, taking his first-ever step. Eli ducks the pillow and laughs, while Kian continues to walk to his mom. You sit up in your seat, a huge smile on your face.

Jenna's face matches yours, encouraging Kian to keep walking. "C'mon, baby, come." Kian's movements are still unsteady, but he manages to make it to his mom's.

Jenna gives you a look as her eyes begin to water, and you feel your heart swell with pride. You look at Eli and he smiles, his eyes twinkling with joy. "Oh, my flip-flop," Eli mutters, shocked as he just watched his nephew take his first steps.

Jenna bursts into tears of joy and pulls Kian in for a tight hug. Kian wraps his arms around his mother, his little face filled with joy. You stand up from the couch, walk over to Jenna and Kian, and wrap your arms around the both of them, Eli joins in, jumping up and down in joy.

"He walked! He walked!" Eli says, still jumping up and down. He soon stops, smiling at Kian. "Hi, five!" Kian reaches out his hand, and Eli eagerly gives him a high five. They both laugh, and Eli pats Kai on the back. "You did great!" he says, taking him from Jenna's arms.

"I think he just stole our son," you mutter to Jenna. Kian giggles as Eli carries him around the room. Jenna smiles and takes your hand in hers. "He's in good hands," she says, and you both laugh.

She then takes your hand, leading you into the kitchen with a huge smile on her face. "How does it feel being the first woman in the NBA and leading your team to a championship?"

You pause and take a deep breath, looking at Jenna before responding. "It feels amazing," you say, squeezing her hand. "I'm so proud of what I've accomplished, and I'm so lucky to have you and Kian here with me."

Jenna looks lovingly at you and says, "We're all so proud of you. You've worked hard and it's paid off." She gives your hand a gentle squeeze before releasing it, a warm smile on her face. You smile back at her, bringing her into a kiss.

You hold each other close and savor the moment. You feel a wave of gratitude and love for Jenna, "I love how you get me." You mumble against her head, swaying her back in forth.

She looks deep into your eyes and holds your face in her hands, "I love you too, my love." You kiss one last time and pull away, feeling an indescribable peace.

Summary: Naomi signs her little brother up for the big brother club, but is intrigued by her brother’s mentor.

"You're going to be fine" she reassured while fixing Nalo's collar. How did you fold your collar inside out? She thought to herself in pure confusion.

Looking back up she notices the anxious look on her brother's face. "Nalo they are going to love you, someone in there will be so excited to have you as a little brother okay"? He nods and straightens up.

"I'll be back in two hours and we'll go grab food at Inizio Pizza". "INIZIO PIZZA?!" Nalo squeals excitedly. "Only if you give this big brother thing a try" she said trying to persuade him.

"I should've known there was a catch" Nalo says as he walks into the building. "I love you too" Naomi says breathlessly from laughing.

He just turns around and smiles.

That's my boy.

Lamelo sat on the bleachers as he mindlessly scrolls through twitter waiting for pairings to start. When he hears a small voice yell "That's too easy!".

He looks up to see a kid absolutely dominating the basketball court, obviously too talented for his competition. He posts a tweet and waits until they are done then he approached him.

"You was out there going crazy man!" Melo says as he puts his hand on the young boy's shoulder.

The kid turns around and his eyes widen. Melo smiles in amusement and says "what's your name?" "I'm Nalo Pierce" reaching his hand out to shake.

"Maybe I can teach you some moves." Melo scoffs "teach ME some moves?! okay show me something".

Nalo starts to dribble the ball while Melo lazily defends not taking him seriously. Which causes Nalo to go in for the layup. Melo laughs "Okay youngin, my ball".

Melo starts to dribble the ball up the court when Nalo comes in and steals the ball causing a turnover. He then runs to the three point line to bank in a three while doing his head tap celebration at Melo.

This kid is hilarious.

Melo does his high pitched scream while laughing hysterically. Nalo comes over smirking ready to tell him off but they are interrupted by the organizer.

"How's it going over here?" asked Brian. "Great, just getting to know my little brother" Melo says looking down smiling at Nalo. Nalo glanced down bashfully as Brian walks away.

"Little brother?" he asks. Melo's face contorts from confusion to realization when he blurts out "I just assumed you'd want to pair with me, if you don't it's fine it's really up to-". "I'd like that", Nalo says calmly.

Bro pulling my heart strings I don't like it.

Clearing his throat, Melo grabs the ball and says "1v1?".

"Are you sure you can handle it cus I gave you the business earlier" Nalo taunts.

"Mannn you got lucky, I wasn't even trying" Melo said as he kissed his teeth.

"Of course that's what happened" Nalo sarcastically says grabbing the ball from Melo getting into position.

What have I gotten myself into?

Naomi rushes into the recreation center to pick up Nalo. Walking through the zig zags of the hall gets too confusing as she rushes past every door until she sees a gym.

She peeks through the glass to see Nalo and a man sitting on basketballs with their backs turned toward her. She gently opens the door and walks in slowly hoping to surprise her brother. As she approaches she picks up on their conversation.

"-yeah so now I'm in Charlotte like you, playing basketball, having fun, and I'm getting pizza later. Life's good you know what I mean?" She heard Nalo say.

The guy laughs before replying "yeah, I know what you mean".

"I know what you mean too" Naomi announces. Turning around quickly Nalo runs to her and gives her the biggest hug known to man. "You're late.." he says expecting an answer. "Sorry the meeting went a little longer than expected" she says turning her attention to the man waiting patiently.

"I really hope he wasn't too much trouble he can be a handful sometimes" Naomi says apologetically. "Oh not at all but he's quite the trash talker" Melo laughs.

"Oh don't get me started I already know" Naomi dismisses.

They share a laugh before shaking hands. "Naomi Pierce, the sister". "Lamelo Ball, the mentor".

Looking up at him she admires his features, his handsome features. The eyes. The smile. Those lips... Snapping out of her thoughts as his tongue licks his lips. "You're really tall" she said hoping he didn't see her checking him out.

"I'm a professional basketball player the height helps, I taught this one here all he knows" he said pointing to Nalo jokingly. "More like I taught you" Nalo said not even bothering to glance up from his phone.

Naomi and Melo burst out into laughter, as they sobered up Naomi says "It was nice meeting you Lamelo".

"It was nice meeting you too...very nice" not even trying to be subtle as he looks her up and down.

Oh he's bold.

Nalo daps him up and walks towards the exit. "The pizza isn't going to eat itself come on" he says impatiently.

"Okay okay I'm coming, impatient creature!". Naomi replies while speed walking towards the exit. Almost there she turns and waves goodbye to Melo. He waves back but her car alarm starts to blare the culprit being Nalo.

"If he doesn't show up to big brother's club one day don't wonder why" she says running out of the gym.

Melo laughs before shaking his head and turning around to put up shots.

Podcast and memories 💕(Lamelo Ball)

Today Lamelo and y/n we’re going on a podcast hosted by B.Simone, Simone invited the couple on her newly podcast as her first couple. Of course Melo was used to being interviewed and asked questions on camera but y/n wasn’t, but since her and Simone were somewhat close friends she agreed. Y/n decided to wear a simple yet cute off the shoulder sweater and some leggings, since she would be sitting down anyways and she did a clean makeup look and styled her hair the way she liked. And Lamelo wore a Black Nike tracksuit with matching shoes. They decided to set up the podcast at Lamelo and y/n’s house out on the backyard patio.

Well I wanna start with simple questions to begin with since you too are my first couple on here, so I just wanna know how long have you too been officially dating, like from when he asked you out till now?

Um.. ok so officially dating up till now would be 2 almost 3 years.

Yeah but If your talking bout like the moment we were like off limits from other people but still not official it would be like 4 years.

Wow so you guys waited like almost 2 years before you made it official

I mean yeah because we were both still young at the time like both 18 and not really sure if settling down was what we wanted and I mean my career was just taking off and getting to the place I wanted it to be and we kinda just stayed in the relationship stage where we both knew we wanted eachother but not making it official made it kinda easier at the time.

Yea we were both fine being not official but once we were both in our 20’s we realized we wanted to settle down and finally decided to get into a actual relationship and about a year later we moved in together and it’s been good since.

Ok I love this story but could you run me through like your love story of how y’all met and fell in love?

Of course, so it was my first year of college, I was there for a 2 year degree to become a ultra sound tech. And one day I was headed to get lunch in the lunch hall, and I got my lunch and decided to eat near the back booth so I could get some studying done. As I was eating and reading my text book I heard someone sitting infront of me so I looked up and he was sitting in front of me.

Wow I would have never imagined you guys meeting in college omg. Ok so Lamelo from your point of view what happened?

Ok so I just got back from practicing in the gym, and remind you we were both 17 at this time, so I went to get lunch you know a sandwich and some water, and I was looking for a place to sit. I usually sit in the booths but they were all full, but when I found one where only 1 person was sitting I saw the most beautiful girl I ever laid my eyes on and I couldn’t miss the opportunity to go meet her.

Omg that is heart warming

Yes it is, but when he sat down he made a complete fool out of himself and just spilled his water everywhere and it got all over my book and food. So he offered to but me a new book and meal.

Okay yes I spilled water on her but only because she made me so nervous

Omg you guys are so cute! So what happened next?

Well you know he bought me new lunch and the next week he somehow found my dorm and he had brought me a new book, and he stayed and we talked and exchanged numbers.

And we started hooking up after a while and then about a year later that’s when we fell into our non official relationship and a year later when we got out of college we started moving towards a real relationship.

I think that is the most realistic story of a young couple meeting and falling in love that I’ve ever heard, but thank you guys for being here today and telling us your love story it was so sweet and beautiful.

“Fake Wannabe All-Star” Proves Doubters Wrong

Tyrese Haliburton is a name that most sports fans should be ready to learn about. Born on the special leap year day of February 29, 2000; the 6′5 point guard from Wisconsin was born with something special about him. Haliburton was drafted out of Iowa State with the 12th pick of the 2020 draft class to the Sacramento Kings. Most basketball fans remember this class through the likes of All-Star Lamelo Ball and 1st overall pick Anthony Edwards. While they may share the spotlight, Haliburton’s rise as steadily been a focus of some select fans. Although he made the All-Rookie 1st Team back in 2021, the Kings seemingly did not think much of his potential because just a couple months later they would trade Haliburton to Indiana. While Sacramento management felt accomplished in aquiring All-Star Domantas Sabonis, many Kings fans were furious at the organization for letting go of a talented young prospect. At this time, Haliburton was averaging 14 ppg (points per game) with about 7 apg (assists per game). With numbers like these, it was uncertain whether he would flourish into a Star, or remain as an essential role player. 

After the trade, Haliburton revealed that he cried uncontrollably. At 21 years of age, he had been dealt the harsh reality of life in the NBA. His love for the city or organization had been crushed with a business deal. Although shocked by the news, he manage to tweet out to his fans, “Sacramento, I love y’all! Can’t put all my feelings into words yet, but know I’m forever grateful and appreciative of each and every one of you.”

Now with the Indiana Pacers, Tyrese took a major step into stardom as he no longer had to share the point guard position alongside Kings’ De’Aaron Fox. With the point guard position all to himself, Haliburton exploded this season with his numbers jumping from 15 ppg to 20 ppg this season. His playmaking has also vastly improved as he now leads the entire NBA in assists per game averaging 10 and a half. Haliburton’s defense has also improved as many around the league have claimed. His 1.7 steals per game is in the top 10 of players in that category. 

Unfortunately, greatness comes with a price. Hate! No matter how great a player is, or how great of a storyline, there will be haters out there. In Haliburton’s case, we look at former NBA All-Star Wally Szczerbiak. Wally played for multiple teams, however he is best remembered for playing alongside MVP Kevin Garnett on the Minnesota Timberwolves. The former player now turned Basketball Analyst had this to say about Haliburton when he missed a crucial shot in a narrow loss to the New York Knicks. “Mister supposed wannabe fake All-Star with a big miss. He’s a very good player, he’s not going to make the All-Star team. Guys like Julius Randle and Jalen Brunson will make it over Tyrese Haliburton, and tonight we saw why.”

The comments seemed to come from a place of hate and not at all a critique of his play. Some would suggest that Wally should have more empathy given that his only All-Star appearance came down to the wire on whether or not he would make the team. While an arguement can be made about which player deserves to make it, the comments were confusing to Haliburton as he had never mentioned or petitioned to make the All-Star game. He responded saying, ““I know the name Wally Szczerbiak. I couldn’t tell you where he played. Couldn’t tell you what he did as a basketball player. I don’t know. He had a lot to say about me. I was really questioning, first, who is this? And why is he talking about me like this? I think he was just excited about a Knicks win. He’s just doing whatever he can to get attention. That’s just the media these days.”

After a large backlash from the NBA fan base and former NBA player/media member Matt Barnes, Wally Szczerbiak retracted his comments by saying, “I want to apologize personally to Tyrese Haliburton. He’s a wonderful young player and is definitely in the All-Star conversation, along with guys like Julius Randle and Jalen Brunson. It’s going to be interesting to see who makes it. All those three players are wonderful players.”

Although the apology was made, the comments cannot be wiped away from existence. Some fans will choose to use the words “Fake” and “Wannabe” to demean Haliburton’s game. However, Haliburton did not get distracted from this incident. His focus was on playing the reigning Eastern Conference Champion Boston Celtics on the road. With some excellent shooting and determination, Haliburton proved that he wasn’t some wannabe All-Star has he led his team to a victory against the team with the best record in the NBA. In that game, he put up 33 points and 8 assists while also knocking down 6 triples. 

In their next game, the Pacers would face the Miami Heat on the road. This was another tough matchup as the two teams sit at 8th and 9th in the Eastern Conference Standings. Given that the Miami Heat won the Eastern Conference back in 2020 and were in the Conference Finals last season, many believed Miami would win this game. Haliburton had other ideas as he notched a career high 43 points with 10 triples made! To wrap up a spectacular performance, he hit an extraordinary 3 pointer from the edge of the Miami Heat logo in the middle of the court to win the game! 

While doubters can continue to criticize or even hate on Haliburton’s game, there is no question that he likes to prove his doubters wrong. With 2 spectacular performances against the last 2 Conference Champions, there is no question that Tyrese Haliburton deserves a spot in the All-Star Game.
