You know, I just find it very interesting indeed that Hamilton writ Laurens and said, "I hate Congress—I hate the army—I hate the world—I hate myself. The whole is a mass of fools and knaves; I could almost except you and Meade."

Fic idea? Headcanon? Not sure but:
Alexander becomes a widow after John dies at the Combahee because they married not even two months before Laurens fell at Combahee and he hires a biographer to carry on John’s legacy but then reunited with Meade and falls in love again but also feels guilty about dating or remarrying but he remarries Meade and adopted an orphan from an orphanage as an infant and named him John after Laurens, Alexander husband who sacrificed his life for his country. But stored in a secret box, Alexander kept the original wedding band Laurens had slid upon his finger two years before. And Alexander can hear Laurens’ voice in his head as he kneels before the box to reveal the ring: “Until death do us part.”

Lamsmeade headcanons cause I have nothing better to do:
After John's death, Hamilton was so striken with grief that he went to Meade for comfort
While Laurens is away at war, Hamilton would always get fitgety and upset/scared and, to distract and comfort him, Meade would take Hamilton on nightly walks and offer him late night dances in their tent
Both Meade and Laurens won't leave Hamilton's side whenever he got ill during the winter at Valley Forge
Meade would send violets in his letters to Hamilton as they reminded him of Hamilton's eyes while Laurens would send roses in his letters as they reminded him of Hamilton's dark red hair
When Meade was away, Ham of course would be worried about him, and similiar to the other hc, Laurens would take him out on nightly walks maybe sometimes even in the early mornings when the sun's rising, hand-in-hand
Both Meade and Ham love to run their fingers along Laurens' light stubble
During the war, Ham was just simply beautiful that every time when he walked into a room or walked passed Meade and Laurens specifically, everyone else would simply stop and stare while Meade and Laurens gape at Hamilton with their jaws dropped and coffee completley missing the mugs.
During an evening storm, which will often remind him of his tragic childhood past, Hamilton would be cacooned against Laurens as he reads him a book in hopes to calm him whereas Meade would simply hum a soft tune
This isn't historically accurate whatsoever, but I think it's cute: Ham and Betsey adopting a boy and naming him after Meade.
After Laurens' death, Meade had found some cherishable old drawings of Hamilton Laurens had done and would put them in frames and when Hamilton's birthday rolled around, he'd give them to him as his present
Meade would often sneak in-cheek kisses while passing Ham in the hallway
Meade would cover Hamilton and Laurens while they have fun in a barn at Valley Forge as other Continentals walked by-
After Hamilton's death, as he had died in 1804 and Meade in 1805, Meade would visit Eliza as much as he could and she'd give him one of his first letters that had written to him and a miniature of Ham to keep, which he did (also not historically accurate)
Whenever Meade and Laurens argue about who's turn is it to have a nightly fun time with Ham, to get their attention, Ham would have no other choice but to slip out of his clothes right before their eyes and flop onto their bed and be like: "Oh, Jack, why don't you draw me like one of your French girls?"
Whenever both Meade and Laurens were gone for the day, they had each given Ham a painted miniature of them both to remember them
Whenever Meade or Laurens would have a rough day, Ham would make them tea and force them to lay down on the bed and, being squished in the middle, Ham would often read to them as he knows they love hearing his voice
When one of the soilders would mock or tease about Hamilton's feminine qualities, both Meade and Laurens would be the one to start the fight
While Laurens was being prisoner of war, Meade would sometimes dress up as Laurens, hoping that would cheer Hamilton up.

OKAY. ONE MORE THING-
I just came up with this idea for lamsmeade. It’s still a work in progress but-
If Laurens and Hamilton could actually get married during the Revolution, they would have. And Meade would still have a crush on Hamilton and would occasionally flirt with him despite the fact that he is married to Laurens in my imagination. But it’d be during winter where Washington would host a ball to get everyone’s minds a rest from the war or a sort and Laurens being the Southern gentleman he is, asks his husband for a dance and Hamilton happily replies. But then afterwards and after a few dances have passed, and a woman offered Laurens to dance with, Meade takes this opportunity and flirt with Hamilton charmingly like he always does but Laurens interrupts them by clears his throat and Meade panics for a second and is all like: “I didn’t mean anything that would cause harm to your future happiness Lieutenant Colonel, it’s just uh…do you mind if I ask your dearest husband for a dance?”
And Laurnes allows but keeps a close eye on Hamilton while Hamilton is torn between the two gentlemen-

Lamsmeade(?) Headcanon:
Hamilton was just so beautiful with that red hair and those deep violet-blue eyes and slender frame, that every soldier would stop and stare-
And Meade and Laurens would just simply over-pour their coffees, missing their mugs entierly, with theirs mouths hanging open as Hamilton would walk by and Ham's just like: "Hello, boys~" *winks* and walks away like it was nothing while Meade and Laurens try not to faint-

OKAY. SO.
You know how Meade joined Washington's staff before Laurens??? What if Meade and Hamilton were in an actual relationship before Laurens joined, and when Laurens joined, Meade can tell Hamilton's falling for the blonde and sorta gets possessive? But not too possessive but most definetely protective. But when Hamilton starts to form a close bond with Laurens, Meade knows instantly Ham's gonna fall for Laurens.
So, afraid, Meade breaks up with Ham, who obviously becomes upset at this, therefore allowing Ham to form his intimate relationship with Laurens. But just before Laurens leaves for his first Southern Campaign, just before Hamilton discoveres about Manning, Hamilton, still upset about the breakup between him and Meade, confesses his love for not only Laurens but also with Meade--just to them of course.
With his confession to both Laurens and Meade confessed, before Laurens goes off he gives him a long, loving kiss (right in front of Meade) and then Laurens is off. But after Laurens is off, Ham turns to Meade and kisses him fully, whispering, "I still love you, Kidder. Even if I am in love with Laurens, you know you will always have my most, sincere affections."
