For those of wyou who want a face to the names of Legolas's siblings in my AU

top left - Kleoyia, top right - Lirion, bottom left - Lasgen, bottom right - Legolas
Life gets interesting when none of you look alike because you're all half-siblings. the only reason Lasgen and Legolas look alike is because they took after Thranduil.

Miriel and Thranduil Are Twins!
This here is fanart for my Miriel and Thranduil are twins au! Created by me!
Thranduil just gave birth to his daughter Lasgen, and Miriel and thranduil are cooing at the new born!
(Mind you, i know it’s suopposed to be dark so just imagine there’a light source such as a fire nearby)
Where’s the sperm donor, you ask? Heck if i know! Thranduil doesn’t know who it is or care and neither do i!
The clothing the two wear is very simplistic and does not have a lot of layers 1. Because no one cares for modesty in those days, and 2. No time to creat intricate robes, survival is the priority.
They got tattoos and piercings bc they don’t give a fuck (and bc they act as identifiers)
Thranduil’s hair is in a low ponytail. You can’t see it, but it’s important to me for you to know it’s there

Okey same person who asked about thranduil baby daddy’s here.
By the way loved the explanation, makes sense. But I would love to hear more about Ingwe and his adopted relationship to thranduil.
Especially your opinion on how would have thranduil reacted seeing how ingwe turned out? in the sense that in valinor he was all “pease, art, music and the serving the valar”.
Also do you think if given the chance to return to middle earth after going to valinor, the we’s would have returned? And would they have brought their children with them?
I love hearing questions, so dw!
So, first things first: little reminder that everything i have to say is about my au, and is not always canon compliment.
So Ingwe actually calls Thranduil his ada. If you ever hear him talking about his Ada he means thranduil. And everytime someone tries to interfere and say “don’t you mean ingen?” After they started living in valinor (ingen and Alehalen(ingwe’s mom) went with the vanyar) ingwe point blank tells them no, they aren’t his parents.
It’s actually a point of tension, bc valinor elves don’t really understand the concept of adoption, just like they don’t really deal with divorce/remarrying/everything that happened between miriel and finwe. So a lot of elves don’t actually acknowledge that Ingwe has disowned Ingen and Alehalen. Including his younger sister Indis, who was born in valinor (yes, in this au indis is his sister) and his wife, who keeps insisting that he should mend his relationship with them.
And thranduil just treats him like he came from his body. Which isn’t difficult bc Ingwe and Lasgen could be twins tbh. Lasgen and Ingwe are genuinly close, btw, and will call each other “twin”. Thranduil is, however, ready to throw down with Ingen and Alehalen the moment he catches even the faintes whif of them treating him like shit. It was a lot of comforting a crying elfling way back when. Tbh, because custody arrangements and such didn’t really exist then, Ingwe actually just generally spent a lot of time with thranduil and his family, especially as he became older.
This actually what kind of kickstarted the bad blood between the two families. I mean, when ingen ding-dong-ditched thranduil, they were annoyed but moved on oretty quick (especially when they don’t think that loosing Ingen was any real lose) but the way ingen proceeded to treat his kids, and the way in which thranduil “stole” his sone from him really sparked the fire between the two families. Which is why ingwe doesn’t understand how Finwe, who is a Miriel simp, could possibly cheat on her with Indis, of all elves.
It’s complicated. And the drama started long before the Miriel/Finwe/Indis debacle was even thought up, though most elves don’t realize it/forgot.
So, idk if you know this, but i joke on here that Ingwe “started a cult” to deal with his emotions/gain power. Except then he lost control of the cult. To his parents. And sister. And wife. And to an extent his son. Yeah Ingwe’s just having a bad time. He also is very scared that after the thousands of years since he’s seen thranduil that thranduil no longer thinks of him as his son.
Dw, the moment thranduil is in valinor (through whatever means that may be) he pretty much immediately tracks down his long lost son and demands he comes for a family diner all while hugging the stuffing out of him. Thranduil genuinly wouldn’t care how Ingwe turned out as long as he’s happy and not an ass. Sadly, it’s sad vanya elf hours and ingwe’s been lowkey miserable for millenia and this 👌 close to snapping.
The thing about cuivienen elves, is that in general, i think, they deserve to have their own classification bc, by virtue of being the ones who discovered everything/created society/etc. they all have their wires crossed. And it’s not that they dislike peace, but most of them feel a bit stiffled in valinor. Furthermore, i feel like they feel at least a little disassociation with other vanya/teleri/noldor born elves bc cuivienen elves didn’t actually grow up in that culture, and a lot of those distinctions between elven ethnicities happened after they were kids. They feel a little lost, a little out of place at times.
I actually hc that none of the we’s were actually planning to stay in valinor or lead their people but somehow ended up in that role anways and they’re kinda pissed about it. They just wanted to explore, ok, they did not know it meant signing up to be king.
I feel like all of them want to return to middle earth, if they get the chance, but they also don’t want to abandon their people/families, nd they feel it would be unfair to ask it of their families, when a lot of them are clearly happy in valinor.
In short, in my au, the -we’s feel more or less trapped in their role.
Especially when they have to constantly behave civil, when they’re all a little unhinged. Ingwe’s actually pretty bloodthirsty when it comes down to it. It’s something he shares with Lasgen, Willow (other older sister from another mother) and indis. This drive to be ruthless and almost cruel when dealing with any type of opposition is something they inherited from Ingen, though none (bar indis) likes to acknowledge that that is where they get it from.
Also, just a thought:
Thranduil: *steps foot in valinor*
Ingwe, finwe, elwe, and olwe: finally, an adultier adult.
Might have gotten a bit side tracked, but i hope this answered at least most of your questions.

Part 1: https://www.tumblr.com/silvantransthranduiltrash/752978436591583232/ok-bc-ariagreenleaf-inspired-me-over-on-the?source=share
Part 2:
we left off at Thranduil and Miriel's childhood. both of them show an exceptional prowes to magic and strength, it's obvious to see for anyone that know what to look for that they aren't normal elves. but bc they are not only the first elflings to have ever been born (as opposed to awakening at the lake) but also the first elf/ainur combo, no one really knows what tf is going on at any given time, and they all just write it off as just smth elflings do.
also, i hc that, in this au, most of oropher's ainur power was cut off by Mairon and Melkor when Oropher betrayed them, so while he is still tecknically an ainur, he doesn't have near the power of one, and comes across as a particluarly strong and magically gifted elf.
n e way, one day teen-Thranduil is off on his own, and he comes across a Dragon (capital letter needed), and not the weird corrupt knock offs that Melkor created, no a proper Dragon. Dragons are someone of a mix between an ainur and an elf, power wise. Eru created them as a sort of unpredictable variable that'll keep ME from going to far into the dirt. most ainur don't like Dragons bc the ainur have no influence over them. furthermore, Dragons are arguable the most prideful creatures in all of arda, so they won't listen to anyone or anything (Eru created them specifically with the idea of being overwhelmingly prideful for the sole purpose of "no one can get them to bend a knee, not even a vala"). also, they can shape shift.
did i forget to mention Thranduil is trans in this au (like my other au?) yes? well, now you know!
anyway, Thranduil and the Dragon, Ingen, meet and they weirdly hit it off? instance sexual attraction, iykwim. the relationship is kind weird, bc it's also a bit of enemies/rivals to lovers, but they still aren't lovers, they just weirdly respect each other and find each other attractive, but by god does Ingen piss Thranduil off on a good day. interesting relationship.
and so, Thranduil falls pregnant with Ingwe and Lasgen (he's 38 btw, so about 16-ish in elven years. between there having never been any elflings before him and Miriel, thus there being nothing to compare them too, and the elves having no real understanding of when one becomes an adult or how age works, and with Thranduil and Miriel being half ainur, everything's a little up in the air and confusing)
Oropher and Cloudryad are like "jfc" but also, they can't judge bc they didn't know what they were doing either, the twin's conception is a result of hate-fucking, and Cloudryad was technically only 10 yo when she had the twins bc, while she spawned at the lake fully grown, she's only been alive for 10 years. like i said, confusing times.
Miriel is extatic at being an aunty (though she is somewhat pissed at ingen for taking advantage of her brother (i need to clarify that the Ingwen-thranduil relationship was consensual on both fronts, minus the whole age thing).
so, Ingwe and Lasgen are born and they are definitely their parent's kids alright, even though Ingen barely ever shows himself. thranduil is pretty much a single parent, and that's how he likes it.
and of course, Miriel and Thranduil also get stuck with babysitting duty for Cloudryad's sister Elya, and her friend Mori, mothers of Elwe, olwe, and finwe respectivly. the twins don't really have a problem with it, tbh, but it does mean that the -we's all get semi-raised by half ainur/half elves, with the benefit of having part ainu/part elf/part dragon playmates. needless to say, shit gets weird, and they certainly have an unconventional/chaotic childhood that makes them significantly stronger than most of their elven peers.
and of course, Melkor and Mairon hear about their greatgrandbbies, and there's an uptick of attacks on the family bc GREATGRANDBBIES. they also try to hunt down Ingen bc HOW DARE HE-. once again, i don't know if M&M are trying to get to Ingwe and Lasgen bc they want their ggb or bc they want to kill them.
end of part 2
now onto part 3

Here’s what i consider the 411 on Miriel+ Thranduil+ the -We’s parents in my “Miriel and Thranduil are twins au”
Miriel and Thranduil’s parents: Oropher and Cloudryad.
-they were enemies and hated each other at first, but with copious sexual tension that eventually boiled over and they had hate sex, which they refused to acknowledge when they were done. Rinse and repeat a few times.
- Oropher has his insanity and “lets destroy the world” arc, but Cloudryad eventually manages to snap him out of it (beat him). Oropher disapears to lick his wounds and then they reunite at an unfortunate (or fortunate depending on who you ask) time where they’re both in deep shit and they go “i don’t trust or like you, but i hate those other fuckers even more so might as well team up”.
- They win, and it turns out they actually work pretty well together so they decide to stick together bc at least they know what the other’s capable of. Cue hate sex again and hey! Look at that! A pair of elflings pop out of Cloudryad. The entire elf population panics bc they’ve never had sex ed or knew what a child was.
- Eventually the partnership turned to genuine affection turned to love and now they’re like the old couple that bickers (surprisingly good parents considering they were the first).
Elwe, Olwe, and Elmo’s parents: Elya and Felome.
- Elya is a strong independent elleth who can kick ass and take names. Oropher is her brother and she trusts him to take care of her kids when/if she passes.
- Felome is a little pathetic, but like endearing pathetic. Elya likes her ellons a little on the weak side. She thinks it’s charming. Felome is a very curious elf though, so the exploration gene comes from him.
Ingwe’s parents (here’s a doozy): Ingen and Allehalen
- so long story short, Ingwe’s dad (Ingen) is a POS who knocked up Thranduil, but when Thranduil refused to obey or be chained down by him, Ingen went to “get milk” came across Ingwe’s mom, seduced her, knocked her up and here we have Ingwe.
- Allehalen isn’t a baseline bad elf, but she lets her husband lead her around, so she isn’t great. Allehalen knew Elya, and when Elya mentioned Thranduil and Miriel looking after Elwe and Olwe (and later Elmo) when Elya and Felome were busy or else where, Allehalen asked if they could watch Ingwe too, not knowing the fact that her husband knocked Thranduil up and had Lasgen, who’s Ingwe’s half sister.
- They find out when Ingen accompanied Allehalen to pick up Ingwe only to come face to face with Thranduil and Lasgen. Oof. Awkward. Anyway, neither Allehalen nor Ingen are really cut out to be parents nor are they really like, good elves to be parents iykwim. So Thranduil and Miriel legit end up being more of a parental figure than them. Ingew holds it over them to this day. “You know, it’s quite sad that dad’s ex, whome he knocked up and dipped out on, is more of a parent to me than either of you.”
- Indis was born of these two in valinor and she low-key inherited the entitlement from them. She’s not as bad, but still.
Finwe’s parents: Lord. Help. Mori and Fikuwe.
- The most emotionally constipated couple to ever walk the earth. It’s a miracle that finwe is as well adjusted as he is. Mori and Fikuwe teamed up all the way at the start when they awakened, even though they clashed as well.
- Fikuwe is pretty chill (finwe takes after him) but Mori is simultaneous genius level smart and also a goddamn moron. And slightly manipulative. Not even having Finwe managed to get them together. They survived all the way to the 5th age without actually becoming a couple (even though it’s obvious for everyone involved). They partner up, fight and then split. Rinse and repeat.
- They’re not together, partially because Mori doesn’t understand that Fikuwe genuinly likes her (ultra oblivious) but mostly because they can’t emote normally. During the fifth age, they had a one night stand that resulted in finwe having a younger sister, but Mori kept it from Fikuwe because she didn’t find out about the pregnancy until after they fought again and Mori’s pretty sure he doesn’t want to see her for a century. Like i said. Issues.
- That being said, for all that they couldn’t figure out their own relationship, they did genuinly care for and love their son, and they were ok parents.
- Mori is very good friends with Cloudryad, but clashes a lot with Oropher due to similar personalities. Cloudryad and Fikuwe are the pair that sit and drink tea while they’re partners are fighting in the background.
(Listen, ok, the elves that spawned at the lake have the emotionally maturity of a new born, of course they are all messes!)

To build off of this post, but also seperate it from my au a little bit: here’s what i mean for each individual elf belonging to the House of Edireth (Oropher, Thranduil, Legolas, etc)
Oropher: this guy gives the biggest impression of being a more stationary elf, due to his 4000 solar year residence in Doriath with the sindar. Truthfully, this guy would be out of it’s borders more often than in it. He was always on expeditions of one kind or another, though he did spend enough time in his Manor in Doriath, presiding over the group of elves that lived under his banner. He, in particular, was in charge of the north of Beleriand back before the Noldo came and took over, and he still went about as he pleased after the Noldo came (though he aboided them like the plague bc like hell he’s gonna let some greenhorn valinor born elf tell him what to do)as a result, he was notoriously absent from court more often than not, and was only there when there were genuinly important decisions to be made that impacted him and his people.
Cloudryad: the only reason she’s the leader of the silvans up untill Thranduil took over (read: she chucked the “crown” at him and fucked off to who know’s where for 200 years) was because it was between her and two other elves, who’s families have been fueding with each other since almost the dawn of time, and she was considered the neutral and competent option bc she (and her family) don’t have any tight alliances with any other clans/families/whatever you want to call them, and thus could be trusted to rule fairly. But yeah, before and after her reign you’d be hard pressed to find her in the same place for more than a few years, often only days.
Thranduil, before he became the leader, traveled a lot. And i mean a lot. He went all the way east, all the way south, all the way north, and even all the way west during the age of the trees. He picked up so many different cultures in his travels that he’s genuinely a thorough mix between all of them. It was only towards the second age that he started slowing down a little, and that’s mostly for his kids (who he also frequently took on trips). Make no mistake, he loves his people and would die for them, but he did not actually want to be their leader bc he hated staying in one placd for too long.
Miriel traveled all over the place before she came to valinor, challenging all swords elves in order to become the best. Then she traveled all the way to valinor, which in itself isn’t bad, but then she was essentially trapped there and became antsy. Then she died. And is being held in the halls against her will.
Lasgen on the surface also looks more like an elf who is more stationary, and her wife, Oasis, travels more than her. But also, Lasgen led a 100 year campaign, when she was co-empresses of the Arctic Empire, in order to conquer the whole of middle earth. Which she succeeded in and proceeded to rule over for 500 years before she got bored and gave it all back. That’s also why she’s banned from Doriath after the fact. Came back to Greenwood anout 1000 years before the first age bc she is biologically a wood elf, and not an Atric elf (which is what the Arctic empire mostly consists of) and took up the role of the head of the Black Ops department for lack of better words. Between that and having a lot of acquaintance throughout all the Avari nations means she travels between nations a lot.
Inwe’s story is similar to Miriel’s. He traveled a lot when he was younger, but when he became king of the vanya, the valar (particularly manwe) literally trapped him and chained him to his position.
Lirion has his home lab in Greenwood (i really need a name for the capital city of Greenwood), where he does spend a lot of time (bc he’s our favorite aroace introvert), but he also goes out regularly in order to learn sciences from other people and places. This one has a thirst for knowledge that eclipses most others. Ironically enough, despite not being the biggest fan of other elves, he somehow set up a penpal system between elven (and later human/dwarven/whatever other mythical races that exist) inventors, where they swap and argue over theories and discoveries.
Kleoyia is pretty much never in Greenwood, always out gathering information and distributing it between the silvan’s allies. She also regularly keeps track of and hunts down criminal organizations that partake in things like slavery, so she’s always on the go. Occasionally she comes home fore a few decades, but she’s been in the winds pretty much since she was a young adult. She does keep in regular contact woth the rest of her family though, in one form of or another, so it’s not like she’s missing.
Legolas gives off the impression to the other elves (namely the noldo/sinda descendents) as someone who stays in mirkwood bc he’s almost always there whenever other elves come to mirkwood, and he visits Elrohir and Elladan and Arwen often, but his work as a fixer requires him to go from one place to the next at the drop of a hat all to often. And the jobs he does are always on a wide range, one assignment might have him as a teacher, another as an ambassador, other times as infiltration. It’s truelly never boring. He is the only one to have a family of his own for the longest time, and as a result he does stick to Greenwood more often for his spouses and kids, but his spouses and kids are also often out and about and doing their own thing, and he’s just as likely to meet them when he’s away as when he’s home.
Now, you might be wondering why this flighty family is the one chosen to rule over the Silvans considered they’re almost never there? A combination of connections, competence, loyalty, and neutrality. Yeah, they might not live there all the time, but they all ultimately come back (which, in the silvans’ eyes is a much more important trait than keeping someone trapped in one place). Also, they are really good at their jobs, both in regards to their own people and their relationship with other elven nations.
The thing about Thranduil and Legolas and their family is that, if it weren’t for their royal obligations, they would be in the wind 80% of the time, they’d wonder so far and wide it’d make Gandalf’s title of the gray pilgrim look like child’s play.
The only reason any of them stay in one place for more than a millennia at all is if they have people to take care off.
Many people and elves are under the impression that silvans are isolate and stationary, but the truth is that they are a largely free spirited group of elves that will come and go as they please, it’s just that Greenwood (later known as Mirkwood) happens to be their home base, and they later needed to put most of their effort into defending it.
