you know, this is something i would think i would care about more than i do. it makes me sad that i don't interact as much with some of my mutuals just because we're not online at the same time bc we're not liveblogging races and our other interests don't align as well. i also miss like the people i used to talk 2 who r deactivated or just not online now :(((((. that being said. i do not miss some of the like. discourse??? frustrations??? with factions of the fandom that took up too much space in my mind if we're being real. now if i see a touch of it i'm just like. i don't really care. which is good! but i also found f1 one of the most creative fandoms i've ever interacted with and probably the first ever fandom i made mutuals and friends in (important skills lol!). i really, really enjoyed that kind of community energy even if it's all sapped out of me now, so i guess i miss that too.

it's kind of fun too, though, to learn different things about people i follow (well. lbr. i especially like to see @astronomical-light and @thelittlebirdthatkeptsomanywarm when they talk about hockey i enjoy it so much even tho obv it's different teams but it's also fun since i also know them in f1 obviously!! years now!! crazy!!) and to see glimpses of moto gp and rally and so on. and then of course scraps of what's going on in f1 bc it's not like i don't pay attention to the races it's just the obsession is gone.

on the most macro level, it sort of feels like an inevitability given the state of racing in some ways, and at least for me, f1 is such an individual-driven sport so like. if is the same for your guy week-in and week-out, there's only so long that's really interesting. it also seems like. the fandom got such a massive influx of fans in like, 2020-22? (probably still to now)? and that led to a really rapid explosion and then shift in fandom interests which you can see in analytics, but to me like. i sort of felt like i knew everyone in my corner when i got into blogging about f1 (summer 21. which. wtf. three years???) and by what i consider the end of being serious about it (early in the 23 season), i totally did not have that sense anymore LOL just because there were way more blogs and stuff, whether or not that's actually true or just representative of my. awareness of what was going on lolol. i feel like there's something i want to say here about maxiel/lestappen and then like. beyond that. the sort of mix of secondary ships (carlando on one level and then idk chalex galex fernanlance (?) pierresteban and now loscar landoscar and so on whatever) , and the shifts there that are obviously affected by what happens on-track. but i think that like. uhhh. decentralization? maybe? a more general turning-on-max after 21 and then ensuing incidents leading to (more of a division?) (the end of it with him for some fans?) (insert your theory here?). idk. i feel like there's a size->fandom dynamics/racing thing (bc i'd like to think it still does go back to the sport)->splinter dynamic going on here but i can't like. articulate it super well LOL sorry. then again i'm a person who personally rarely keeps an interest in an INTENSE way for more than like...1-3yrs so. maybe it's just that.

Personality: A very ‘I do what I want, when I want, because I know what’s best for me and others’ type of person. I feel like she doesn’t take no for an answer and that’s occasionally gotten her a timeout or a grounding or two growing up (but lbr she’ll last like five minutes of that grounding or timeout before Rico or Virginia get her out of) or into trouble with teachers or principals at school. She isn’t an asshole or anything, she just...is….the type of person who likes to solve problems and get shit done and hates when people hesitate. The reason she hates the word ‘no’ so much is because it holds her back and again, she hates when people hesitate. 

Special Talents: taking care of people. some might argue that that isn’t a talent, but she’s always been the first to make sure that someone is okay, and that they’re fine. She will take care of people when they’re sick. Which is why she decided to become a veterinarian as an adult. She loves to take care of animals because she knows that she’d hurt too much as a nurse. The animals love her though and she loves them, so she loves her job and everything that comes with it. 

Who they like better: Virginia. While Rico isn’t an ass, he is the more serious parents. So I feel like Rebecca feels like she can be more playful with Virgina. Plus, she loves hearing all of the stories Virginia comes up with. They’re so cool to her. 

Who they take after more: Both of them honestly. She has Rico’s sense of determination and Virginia’s creativity. Both of their strong sense of heart. 

Personal Head canon:

- I have the headcanon that she was a surprise. They weren’t trying for a baby, and weren’t even sure if they wanted children due to Rico’s past, but then Virginia discovered she was pregnant and they immediately decided on keeping the baby. Which meant Rico was an annoying hover husband, who was constantly asking Virginia if she was okay, or asking if she needed anything. And she was always telling him to relax. 

- Rico used to read to her before bed. It started out with Dr Seuss, and eventually he went on to read Emily Dickinson and Keats to her, and she really dug it. When she reached her teens though, she decided to look into some poets who were of color because she felt like she could relate with them more. She discovered a new love of poetry after that and now reads a poem before bed every night. Whether it’s long or short depends on her mood. 

-Enjoys going for walks with her mom around lunch hours. That’s when they’ll catch-up on each other’s lives and talk to each other about most everything. They have the habit of talking for hours and hours. 

- Out of all the gang, her favorite is Teo because she thinks he’s so cool. She makes jokes to Rico all the time that Rico may be her biological father, but Teo is her ‘fun’ dad. Rico doesn’t find it very funny, he says, but he does, and he always smiles when she says it.

Awww this is such a cute request! Thank you so much for requesting it  ❤️ I think as I go along writing this, I’m going to focus as well on what they are like as parents and their parenting styles from my perspective as a teacher. Well, a preschool teacher.

Sorina:

Soma is the one who is seen often dropping off and picking up their kid at school.

Would say, “’Sup kiddo!” to greet his kid when he picks them up.

He has an adorable secret handshake with their kid and will hold up his palm or fist which his kid would respond to each time they separate or meet at the door of the class.

Soma is very interactive with the kid’s teacher. Would even crack a joke or two. He also knows their names, but wouldn’t bother attending a parents workshop bcs his schedule doesn’t allow him to. And lbr here, he would sleep through it.

Erina, on the other hand, rarely drop off or pick up their kid. But boy, when she shows up, the world stops. Everyone at school would stare in awe of her presence and grace (If you’ve seen Blake Lively on A Simple Favor, you’d know her vibe).

Makes people wonder how someone as poise as her would settle down with Soma who is the opposite.

Often smiles and thank the teachers, also hopes their kid hasn’t cause any trouble.

If their kid is performing at school though, Soma and Erina would take a half-day off to see it and be proud parents. They would take adorable pictures together with their kid dressed in elephant costume.

They too would take a half-day off for Parent-Teacher Conference to see how their kid has developed through the semester.

From these events, people know that Soma and Erina actually complement each other.

Despite being a CEO of her successful ryokan and restaurants, when dropping off and picking up their kids, Megumi looks just like a humble housewife who is lovely to everyone around her

Megumi is a very generous parent. Would bring extra homemade cookies or onigiri for their kid to share to the whole class– she always teaches their kid the good of sharing the love.

She sometimes invite the teachers to her and Takumi’s restaurants’ event or a complimentary stay at her ryokan during summer break.

Takumi drops off and picks up their kid equally often, sometimes they do it together (this kid is surrounded with so much love it’s insane).

Nearly every female teachers have a lowkey adoration for him because of how gentle, polite, and soft spoken he is. And to top those things off, he is G O R G E O U S.

Takumi likes to give their kid a piggyback ride to class, while Megumi simply hold their kid’s hand and give them a kiss on the cheek.

They would basically do anything for their kid. If their kid is performing, Takumi would bring out his camera,  take gorgeous pics and record a video of their kid. Unlike Sorina who only take half-day, takumegu would take a day off, shut of their phones, and just enjoy a proper family day.

They also take turn attending parents workshop regularly, though they occasionally go outside to make a phone call or two, they are trying to make a good parenting team.

Eirin:

Guess who is the worrywart parent? Yep, you all know it.

Eishi drops their kid at school with a big kid’s backpack filled with all the necessities like jacket, sunscreen, meds, extra snacks, two sets of clothes, a pair of sandals, a pack of diapers, and a drop of Jesus’ blood, obviously.

He never forgets to tell the teacher, “Can you please make sure to apply an extra layer of mosquito repellent before he plays outside and if he’s got a mosquito bite make sure to apply the essential oil I’ve put in his bag. Please don’t forget to peel off his apple before he eats them but please leave 0.5 centimeter of the stalk so he can–”

Eishi also takes parents workshop seriously. Always sits in the front row and actively asking a lot of question also shares parenting tip to the other parents.

Meanwhile, Rindou besides being the chill parent, is unbothered about parents workshop. “Google exists for a reason??”

And if she’s the one dropping their kid to school, all the teacher would find in his bag is a lunchbox and an extra t-shirt.

She would be the one encouraging their kid to play in the mud and jumping really high on the trampoline. She sometimes would leave him hanging on a monkey bar while she plays Candy Crush. Yes, she would want their kid to grow up fearless and take risks.

Eishi always has the urge to protect their kid. He’d want their kid to grow up cautious with precision.

This different parenting style caused them to argue in front of the teacher during Parent-Teacher Conference, blaming each other for her carelessness and his overprotectiveness.

But oh, they were so proud when they see their kid perform and took on a leading role as a little Indiana Jones.

Ryoali:

Alice is that mom who would insta-story their kid walking out of the class and reaching out to her arm when school’s out.

“Cmooon, say bye to your teacher, sweetheart! We’re not going to the grocery shop until you do so~”

Yes, she may show up at their kid’s school looking all flashy with faux fur coat and gold hoop earrings, but she’s actually pretty down to earth.

Despite her tight schedule, Alice is actually the class/PTA mom. She spreads information to the other moms, and will happily reply to teachers’ chat with emojis and calling them ‘Loves’.

She would follow their kid’s teacher on Instagram and tag them in their kid’s pictures or videos.

She skips PTA meetings most of the time and would rely on other PTA mom though.

Also wouldn’t bother attending parents workshop because she thinks she got it all handled.

Ryo is the dad that only shows up when their kids perform on a larger scale and during Parent-Teacher Conference.

If it was Ryo who drops off their kid tho, he doesn’t bother socializing with the teachers. He would just be rustling their kid’s head and said, “Bye. Mommy will pick you up.”

But behind his cold exterior, he would be the one helping their kid with homeworks or practicing the dance or the song before the kid’s performance.

He also always make sure their kid eats well and balanced with delicious bentos he has packed.

Akisako:

Hisako is PTA mom #2 Alice always rely on because Hisako always attend the meetings.

No one knows how she managed to do PTA responsibilities while having businesses to run, but she does it so well.

Often times, if Akira is the one to drop off their kid, Hisako would be the one to pick her up and vice versa. It all depends on their schedules.

Akira would teach their kid to be independent. He would encourage their kid to walk to class from the front gate on their own at a very young age. Hisako would at least say bye at the stairs.

Akira doesn’t interact much with the teacher, but would converse every now and then if being asked if it concerns their kid.

Hisako is generally more warm and would tell the teachers if their kid has been telling stories about them.

But if their kid comes home with a scar, she could panic and text the teacher a bunch of question like what/who caused it, if it had been treated, and if their kid shows any signs of other discomfort, etc.

She’ll shut up if she has got a satisfying answer though.

Akira would be the one attending parents workshops and actually pays attention. Not that Hisako wouldn’t, but she gets distracted easily when her phone beeps once. They often attend it together.

They love watching their kid performs. Hisako would sit in front of the stage with other mom and recording every move while Akira just stand or sit proudly in the back enjoying how cute their kid is.

          once upon a time, when the big bad red gangmoon caught sight of lil red riding choi - he didn’t waste time in asking her out on a date. he’s always known what he’s wanted from the get, you know. after taking they went to a PHO spot for dinner, he took her to get some ice cream ( which ends up being their go - to spot in the future ). naturally the night doesn’t there folks as they had back over to his place, climbing up onto the roof with some blankets to do some good ‘ol stargazing.

          they RARELY ever fight, usually always on the same page. HOWEVER -- when they aren’t ?  two alphas going at it ? you best believe there’s a lot passion & frustration when the other doesn’t see their point of view. it’s also because they feel so deeply for each other & really can’t stand anything come between them. he’s probably slamming his fist against tables or walls while she’s yelling and throwing her hands up in the air to emphasize her points. unsurprisingly, they’re also the ones to get caught up in the heat of the moment and really just get it on, ripping clothes off and shit -- as soon as its over though, she’s kicking his ass out of their bedroom. even if he ends up on the couch, essentially so will she because she’s one weak heaux for that man.           any other point in the week, they’re finding any excuse to rile each other up. if you think they’re just getting under each other’s skin to get under each other’s clothes, YOU RIGHT.

         it doesn’t take much for scarlett to cheer him up ; she does what she always does. sitting down beside him, she pulls his arm around her frame, interlocking their fingers as she curls into his side. she doesn’t have to voice that she’s there for him, because he knows. they’re basically each other’s person -- she knows that if he wants to talk about what’s on his mind, he will on his own time.

            SCARLETT ; red is more of a handsy type meanwhile she’s pressing kisses against his shoulder before leading a pathway up to his neck, simply lean up to nuzzle her nose into the crook of his neck before dropping kisses along his skin, all the way up to his jaw and to the shell of his ear, whispering a “ wake up.  ” red gonna wake up READY TO GO. IF YOU FEEL ME.

            she’s falling asleep in his clothing -- whether its his t-shirts, racer backs, wife beaters, sweatshirts, he’s slipping one hand beneath the fabric to graze his fingers over her smooth skin, while the other is slipping between her thighs. she’s stirs awake, hot and bothered and he insists it’s because her skin is so soft & because he really can’t help it. we all know what they boutta do next pls.

           BOTH ; scar is prolly attempting to whip up some red velvet cupcakes with red not too far -- he’s not bothering her really, he’s offered to help but he’d distract her if he did. but his gaze keeps flickering & when he spots her lick some batter off her finger, he can’t stop himself from reaching over and dipping his own finger into the bowl of freshly whipped batter. she’s staring at him as if he’s lost his goddamn mind & then he goes ahead and drags the batter - covered finger over her lips in an ‘ X ’ & instead of scolding him for CONTAMINATING THE BATTER, she closes the distance and rubs her puckered lips against his cheek. nobody’s having cupcakes lbr.

          BOTH ; pre & post- apocalypse red is definitely the type who’d destroy anyone who ever tried disrespecting his girl. he’s the type to protect the ones he loves fiercely, so i can’t imagine any other reaction from him. it’s safe to say chad is gonna get his ass beat when he finds out that not only did the loser try to make a move on his girl, try to have her killed by ghoulies, but also FRAMED her for the ghoulie - incident.

         pre & post - apocalypse, scarlett is more the type to have a war with words. it’s more than obvious that her & red are openly obsessed with each other, so if some trick ass heaux really tried coming on to her man, she’ll have to assert her authority on her.

            IN BED ;  they’re actual freaks. literally always trying something new in bed & surprising each other with it. scarlett is always shook with how breathless he leaves her every time -- though, it’s the same on his end when she decides to take charge.             OUT OF BED ; being that they’re leaders of their own respective factions, taking risks comes with the title. they have to decide on what’s most ideal on behalf of their entire tribe. let’s forget red put his entire relationship on the line for the sake of the jocks, if that’s not a risk idk what is.

           it’s safe to say their pda is pretty out there -- if they’re ever parting ways, she’s starts with just a peck which ends up turning into five of them as they whisper promises of staying safe. i can also see him randomly dropping against her shoulder blades whenever they’re exposed. in private, their kisses were a culmination of all the times they hadn’t. he’d kissed her as if to stop would be to asphyxiate ; as if by standing as close as possible and holding as tightly as possible, scarlett might be absorbed into him, to become that missing piece he’d always known her to be. and while red’s mouth pressed hard and desperate and sure against hers, his hands cradled her head like it was the most precious thing he'd ever held.

           even though he’s known as the badass jock leader, scarlett loves to coddle him when they’re alone. being a leader of the chearmazons, she knows how overwhelming it could become. she becomes his confidant and his ally, offering him any type of support he could need. even though he’s stubborn as hell & always wants to be the one protecting her -- she forcefully plants the idea of  “  i can take care of you, the same way you take care of me,  ”  in his head. she’ll beat a ghoulie’s ass if she needs to.

           i think it’s safe to say that their favorite ways to give affection is pleasing each other intimately. even if there is room for two, she’ll end up on his lap with his arm around her waist & her fingers playing with the hair by the nape of his neck. even though they act like two alpha heauxs on the field, in private they’re completely opposite. he likes coddling her just as much as she does. he’ll straight up lift her into his arms so she can wrap her legs around his torso and rest her chin onto his shoulder. i think they really just try to find excuses to touch each other at all times, whether it’s her hand on his knee, his hand on her thigh, her hand on his arm, or his hand grasping the back of her neck.

he has nearly supernatural healing abilities so i feel like he’d also have super efficient kidneys

honestly probably has the smallest bladder capacity in the rf/a lmao rip

(he canonically was shocked that se/ven and yo/osung hadn’t gone to the bathroom for three hours while watching a tv show.... honey, do you think that’s a long time?!)

wetting himself onstage would be his worst nightmare; he’s probably leaked up there a few times but never actually wet

the second worst thing that could happen to him would be wetting in front of j/umin- i think ju/min wouldn’t do much except either a. make a few snarky remarks about wetting yourself being unusual for an adult or b. actually attempt (with a 100 percent chance of failing, seeing as it’s jumi/n) to be ....considerate.... about it, depending on how upset z/en seemed, but either way ze/n would get mad. there’d be some tension in the r/fa chatroom for a while lol
