I think there will be rain tonight.
June 2nd, 2009
This is a difficult announcement to have to write, and one we’d have hoped we’d never need to, but it is with a heavy heart we in Los Campesinos! need to announce the forthcoming departure of Aleks Campesinos! from our number.
After three years of LC!, in an incredible journey that has gone from inaudible student union side room gigs to playing infront of thousands in Caracas city centre; Aleks is now, as she always intended, departing the band in order to return to her studies.
In many ways, it would be great if there had been some falling out in the band and that Aleks couldn’t bear to tour with us anymore, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. We’re all better, closer friends now than we’ve ever been, and this makes the decision tougher on both Aleks, and the other six of us. We’ve always been very pragmatic when thinking about the future for Los Campesinos!, and it is at this point that Aleks has decided her future does not reside in flogging this LC! nonsense any longer. Though she will remain a Campesinos! for eternity. There’s no escaping that.
It shouldn’t need saying, and perhaps it almost seems insensitive, but it’s inevitable news of this nature will cause tongues to wag, so it’s best to confirm that Los Campesinos! will continue as a band, stronger and more united than ever. Though this news is being announced only now, it’s something we as a band have been aware of, and preparing for, for the past year. The individual joining the band to take on Aleks’ duties, and more, has been a friend of the band for a long time and though we are understandably maudlin, nay, heartbroken, this is coupled with a great excitement for what we intend to go on and achieve in the near and distant future.
In the meantime, we are finishing up Aleks’ final record with the band, and can announce her final LC! shows – a US Tour, taking place in August. Taking in our biggest indoor shows to date, as well as a happy return to the site of our first US show (Lollapalooza), we navigate parts of America previously unchartered by us, before Aleks’ very last shows come with a weekend in the California sun.
The girl will go out in fucking style; we will make completely sure of that.

¿Recuerdas a KITT?

//Bird sacrifice!
The Firebird charges at Nothing There, detonating when they get close enough.
"Get away from her!"
Then the bird is nothing but a pile of ash.
A Climax Brews
//ooc this will be the main thread for the finally of the Suppression, you are free to enter into this and join the fray, abnos and nuggets alike. The Arbiter pushes into the Central department, the air grows dense from the blood of clerks and employees, around her, multiple nuggets, Hod, and abnormalities all alike. She is surrounded and stands tall. I shall not fall to the likes of you all! You all are to know your place! With a wave of her hands, wind begins to howl, the department soaked in golden black liquid.

General Motors designer George Gallion has had a profound impact on the cars Australians have driven over the past 40 years.
It is George, in his role as Deputy Design Director at Opel, who penned the automobiles that became our Holden Gemini, Commodore and Camira.
Gallion studied industrial design in Atlanta, Georgia and joined GM Styling in 1961, in the same graduate intake as John Schinella (HK/HT/HG/HQ Holdens and Monaro, LC/LJ Torana and the 3rd and 4th Generation Pontiac Firebirds, to name a few) and Leo Pruneau, the retired Design Director of Holden.
In 1966, he moved to Opel and became Deputy Design Director.
George Gallion
One of George’s first stand-out designs was the Opel Manta A, which was Opel’s response to the 1969 Ford Capri.
George had little time to design the Manta.
“My boss at the time, Chuck Jordan, gave me the job of developing a competitor to the Capri,” he said.
“Chuck left for vacation with the words ‘have it finished by the time I’m back, otherwise I’ll show you how it’s done’.”
His 1974 Opel Kadett C was used as the basis for GM’s first real global car.
We saw it in Australia as the Holden Gemini.
Gallion was responsible for the design of GM’s first V-Car, which Australians saw as the 1978 VB Commodore.
GM’s first global front-wheel drive offering, the J-Car, was also a Gallion design.
In a Wheels magazine interview in May, 1981 George said of the J-Car: “I think it will be the best car we’ve built. It will also be our most international car. There will be styling differences. The Australian version will have subtle styling changes pencilled by Holden’s design team. The American versions will have even more changes.”
He also shaped the 1986 Opel Omega A which Holden transformed into the 1988 VN Commodore.
His 1993 Opel Omega B was also used as the basis for the 1997 VT Commodore.
Another of George’s memorable cars is the 1975 GT-2 concept.
This is a crisp edged dream car that still looks fresh today.
George retired from GM in 2002.

hey so...
bees leave areas that they don't want to be in.
so, naturally, the bees in your containment unit like the same sort of habitat that you produce.
so therefore, the best way you can make them leave is... well, i dare say to turn up the air conditioning and turn your room into a freezer.
that is, of course, the bees act like mundane bees, i have no idea.
... fine. I'll call Snow Queen...
(The bird pecks at the phone a few times)
... they don't have a phone. Do they.

Small one: Could use a chill pill. Like calm down, you are plushie sized.
Big bird: Too many eyes. I don't know which one to maintain eye contact with.
Long bird: Be less judgey. That's it.
