En 2020, j'ai décidé d'apprendre plusieurs langues. L'anglais et l'espagnol. J'ai mis 2 ans à être B2 en anglais mais 8 mois pour l'espagnol. Mes méthodes se sont améliorées, mon efficacité aussi. Comment j'ai fait ? Voici mon planning pour débuter.

Wow, I’ve been practicing Korean everyday, almost, for a whole year. Who would have thunk it, me who failed every language but Swedish and English in school. And I understand things, and I can say stuff! It’s fascinating, it has a rhythm similar to Swedish and a sentence structure and word use totally alien to any native European language speaker! Couldn’t quite find it in me to write for now, so instead I pulled out a book and started taking notes. It’s always nice to have study options so it doesn’t feel like doing the same thing over and over again.

I’m still trying to figure out where to put up my sticky notes in my new room (trying to be all neat and everything now), but other than that I think I’ve gotten back on track with German since the move!

My starting point...

I thought it would be a good idea to post updates on how my French progress is going now and then. Hopefully this keeps me accountable as well as being something to look back on and see how far I’ve come.

So here’s where I’m starting from - I learnt little bits of French on and off as a kid but never got past the very basics. I have always wanted to learn it properly but it was something I never got around to starting.

About six months ago, I found Duolingo. A few lessons was all it took to get me inspired and finally get started. At the moment, I am mainly using Duolingo, but am starting to try and listen to a few podcasts and even kids tv shows to try and immerse myself in the language.

Maybe next time I’ll even be able to write an update in French!

I ‘finished’ the Duolingo Italian course today (on my 403rd consecutive day streak)and feel a certain satisfaction mixed with relief.
