🌲pine greens🌲
I made this cozy little brushed cotton dress and velvet basque from my usual pattern, so they sit together nicely!
🌲This cute witchy academia co-ord is styled with mostly thrifted items, except the bow (primark), Sharmanka museum pin, and the perfume bottle necklace (etsy).

What is dark academia for me?
For me, it is rainy days with tea in a porcelain cup, the tea in a teapot, reading the secret history, war and peace and crime and punishment whilst listening to some classical composer I forgot the name of.
It is wearing a tweed jacket and dressing like a 1930s professor, carrying a satchel that is older than your dad.
Learning Latin and Greek, even though its not a course and you just do it, but you actually end up liking the history, philosophy and studying a language.
Staring at old paintings and sculptures by people you can't really remember, being moved by a peice of artwork that everyone else passes by. Getting as close as you can behind the red rope.
You don't go behind the red rope
It's just there, almost like a comfort thing.
It is having thoughts at three in the morning when the world is asleep, but you, in that moment, must write.
The smell of books and old libraries where books are kept in cages with big keys. Autumn days and the solitary of winter ahead of you.
There may or may not be a murder.
That is dark academia

The Crossbody Bag: A Fashion Essential
The crossbody bag has firmly established itself as a fashion essential, seamlessly merging style and convenience. In this article, we'll delve into the world of crossbody bags, exploring their versatility, iconic designs, and how to make them a statement piece in your wardrobe.
Tumblr media
The Versatility of Crossbody Bags
Hands-Free Convenience - One of the standout features of a crossbody bag is its hands-free design. The adjustable strap allows you to wear it across your body, distributing the weight evenly. This feature is a game-changer, especially when you're on the move, running errands, or traveling.
Perfect for Every Occasion - Crossbody bags come in various sizes and styles, making them suitable for a wide range of occasions. From compact and minimalist designs for a casual day out to elegant and embellished options for formal events, there's a crossbody bag for every outfit and mood.
Iconic Designs
The Classic Messenger Bag - The messenger bag, with its rectangular shape and flap closure, is the quintessential crossbody bag design. Originally favored by couriers and messengers, it has evolved into a timeless fashion piece that complements both casual and professional looks.
Boho Chic with the Saddle Bag - Saddlebags are characterized by their curved shape and often feature rustic details. They are perfect for adding a touch of bohemian flair to your ensemble, making them a favorite among free spirits and fashion-forward individuals.
The Mini Crossbody - For those who prefer a minimalist approach, mini crossbody bags offer style in a compact package. These tiny yet trendy accessories are perfect for carrying just the essentials and add a playful touch to any outfit.
Styling Tips
Casual Charm - Pair your crossbody bag with a relaxed outfit, like jeans and a cozy sweater. Opt for earthy tones or vibrant colors, depending on your mood. This effortless combination exudes casual charm.
Office Elegance - Upgrade your work attire by choosing a sleek leather crossbody bag. It adds a touch of professionalism while keeping your essentials within easy reach.
Evening Glamour - Transform your look for a night out by selecting a crossbody bag with metallic accents or intricate embellishments. It's the ideal accessory for carrying your essentials while dancing the night away.
Caring for Your Crossbody Bag
Regular Maintenance - To keep your crossbody bag looking its best, practice regular maintenance. Wipe down leather bags with a damp cloth and use a leather conditioner to prevent drying and cracking. For fabric bags, spot-clean them to remove stains and maintain their pristine appearance.
Rotate Your Collection - If you're an avid crossbody bag enthusiast, consider rotating your collection. This not only extends the lifespan of your bags but also allows you to showcase a variety of styles throughout the year.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the crossbody bag is more than just an accessory; it's a fashion statement and a practical companion for your daily adventures. Its versatility, iconic designs, and styling options make it an essential piece in any wardrobe. Whether you're heading to the office, going out with friends, or embarking on a journey, the Rustic town crossbody bag is your stylish and reliable partner.

it might just be me drinking too much of the One Piece live action kool-aid and I would usually never say this bc of my bad relationship with live action adaptations but I actually think a live action series of khux would be really really cool, only and I mean ONLY if it follows in OPLA’s footsteps of staying close to and expanding upon the source material, and keeping things colourful and whimsical

Cas has to get something out of the bottom out of the shoulder bag he's taken to carrying around and asks Dean to hold it for him. Dean is immediately straining with it bc it's massively massively heavy (but doesn't put down. Pride.) and gets out:
"Cas, what the fuck is in this?"
"Just things I find interesting."
"Like what? Dumbells?"
Cas, pissy, "No."
Then he pulls some things out including: a slab of concrete, a huge dinosaur tooth, a tiny, flimsy black box-
"What's in there?"
Cas shakes it. "The leftovers from an imploded universe. It's incredibly dense. If this box were opened it would likely destroy the earth."
"And you keep it in your bag?!"
"It's interesting."
"Dude, what if someone steals it?"
"I can look after my things, Dean."
"I don't want a ticking time bomb just swinging around willy nilly."
Snatching the bag back, "Where else would I put it? I can no longer reach into the ether. Everything could be taken from me at any second."
And Dean is like. Fuck he's right. He's completely untethered. The thought makes him nervous, for some reason. Like Cas might float away (even with the anchor of his slab of concrete).
"Well, what if I made a space for you?"
Suspicious Cas squint.
"In Baby, I mean. Bobby could make us up a cursebox, and maybe we could see about a spell to make the thing lighter. I don't see her hitting 80 with this thing in the trunk."
Confused Cas squint.
"But that's where you keep your weaponry. To keep you safe."
"Hell, what's safer than you? We can shuffle some things around. I'll bet Bobby has some storage ideas, you know how the old man loves a project."
Cas has stopped squinting and started staring, and Dean doesn't know if he's offended or touched.
"It's, you know," Dean falters, "you don't have to."
"You would do that for me?"
"You're -" he's not family, not yet, but every twist of the road seems to bump him up closer. Some other label keeps getting tangled in the back of Dean's throat, something between 'confidante' and 'mine forever', "You're my friend." He settles on, and he didn't even sound choked up, score 1 for Winchester.
"Thank you, Dean," Cas says, and there's almost a smile on his face, some subtle lift around the eyes and mouth. "If I could, I might put this moment in my bag."
"Dork. Anyway, did you find the blade we needed?"
"I did. It was under the sandwich toaster."
"The....okay whatever, Mary Poppins. Let's ice this thing."
...
When they make the box, Dean insists they leave one side free of sigils, despite Bobby's grumbling about needing to do extra math to make it work. He presses Cas’s hand onto the empty space, and tells him to make it burn in a print, which he does, with a question in his eyes.
"So that everyone knows it's yours."

Okay. I had plans for my day off which included writing and housework and all sorts of other things, but then tumblr showed me this cute art of @karolinepietrowski.
How could I not do it? I mean, she's so cute and just look at the colours and I want that outfit with the intensity of a thousand suns.
So, she's a little sketchy because I was trying to rush, but I think she came out pretty cute.

Nat!! Dearest!! How are you helping Nanami celebrate his birthday today?? 😏
i cannot believe you would side-eye smile me today on a holy day when i have never said anything even vaguely lascivious in my life--
i ask nanami what he wants to do and he just smiles vaguely and says 'whatever you want, as long as i can leave my work phone off all day'. naturally though i always want to go to puroland*, i carefully orchestrate a day i think he would enjoy!!! we stay in bed until early afternoon and i bring him pancakes in bed (i have burnt them at the edges, he very kindly says nothing and tells me they are delicious). i take him out for a light lunch and then we go to an art gallery!!! we see a show at the theatre and then have dinner at his favourite place afterwards so we can discuss the show (it's a classic musical, a rodgers and hammerstein or something; we are both pleased), and then after we get home--
well. well. i have other gifts, if u know what i mean

Trainee and Teacher Dennings
Tumblr media
[Image ID: Two trainees, Cypress and Student of Acorn, are walking in the wilderness. Cypress is a silver molly with dark spots and blue eyes, while Acorn is a tabby tom with amber eyes. Both have small leaf bags tied to their torsos. Drawn by @sai-nt / nothinginvain on TH. End ID]
Trainees are the young teens and adults of the colonies, still learning how to do many of the tasks the colony requires of them to survive. A trainee will typically undergo this training for 10 to 20 months, depending on what they are training to be, the progress of their denning, and the trainee's skill. All trainees have the title of ‘Student’, to reflect their role within the colony.
Kittens are considered teens at the age of 5 to 8 months old, but will not be promoted into trainees until the first week of spring or fall has passed. After the first week, the commander will give all kits old enough their new title, and assign them a job and a teacher denning. This day is unofficially known as Trainee Day, and any kittens not old enough will have to wait for the next Trainee Day to come to be promoted. This helps ensure a proper denning group can be made each Trainee Day.
After the commander has assigned the jobs and titles, the trainees are expected to get to know their teacher denning. Many teacher dennings will take the trainees out of the settlement to show them the territory, landmarks, how to get home, and answer any questions the trainees might have. Some colonies have specific traditions regarding a trainee's first days, such as the Colony of Mist visiting the Commander’s Maw, or the Colony of Storm visiting the Abandoned Mall.
During a trainee’s training, bonding between their denmates and their teacher denning is heavily encouraged, to the point where the colonies consider themselves to have three families- their biological family, their denmates, and their teachers. The trainee’s denmates will remain their denmates for life, barring unusual circumstances such as switching jobs, or (extremely rare) switching colonies.
When a trainee denning has completed their apprenticeship and the teachers have taught them everything they know, the oracle will then promote each trainee, with the teachers gifting a title to each trainee within the denning. The trainee will be considered an adult now, and the denning will receive their own lodgings and space to live in- whereas before, all trainees regardless of denning would share a single, cramped lodging. After promotion, they are considered full members of the colony, with a wide range of options now opening up to them.
Some may choose to study a new job and get assigned a single cat as a teacher. They must balance their original job and learn at the same time however, a daunting task for a new member. Some cats may choose to do this later on in life however, when they’ve become bored of their job and long for something new. Others may use the opportunity of their own space and freedom to explore more about themselves, with many undergoing ‘decoration fever’- when a new member begins frantically decorating with all sorts of trinkets and items, drunk on this new freedom. As the denning grows, discussion of becoming a teacher denning will arise, and the cycle will repeat as a new generation of trainees are promoted.

‘One minute bag’.
Hi guys, it’s been a cow of a few years here in the UK but we are back with a new Build along project. Again, the credit for the Pattern goes to Tony See at Diesel punk.Ro. The actual putting together is all li’l ole’ me. Let’s go.
Tumblr media
The project this time is this Lovely Satchel ( for UK residents) or Messenger style bag ( for our friends around the World.) Known sarcastically as the ‘One minute Bag’. Enjoy.
Tumblr media
Pic 1. As always I purchased a Pattern from Dieselpunk.ro, printed it all out to the correct scale, cut it all out and then stuck each piece onto the Veg Tan leather using decorators tape, as shown here, which leaves very little mark when taken off. I like to sharpen my blades for a few times so they last a bit longer.
Tumblr media
Pic 2. Next I used a 1mm single punch to make all the holes shown on the pattern, ignore what the wire is for, it’s just the wire for taking the photo..only got two hands though. I’m not going to show me cutting and punching all the pieces as the proceedure is the same for every piece.
Tumblr media
Pic 3 . Once the pieces are cut out I burnished the edges of them all using gum Tragacanth and the wood slicker.
Tumblr media
Pic 4.
Tumblr media
Pic5. Pics 4 + 5.  On some of the pattern pieces there are a few ‘markers’ left by the maker, be careful to look for them and to carry the marks over to the leather...or you will have difficulty lining things up later. Check ‘every’ piece just incase.
Tumblr media
Pic 6
Tumblr media
Pic 7. Pics 6 + 7 show the handle. This is very easy to make so I felt no need to show it in more detail, just stitch the relevant pieces together to achieve the handle shown here. Then, take the cut out section that has the corresponding holes for the handle and stitch it on. the larger section on the bottom of each end should be stitched first follwed after by the top piece, note how the bottom stitching is ‘underneath’ the top piece. The stitch used on this bag project was mostly the ‘locking saddle stitch’.
Tumblr media
Pic 8. Take the ‘side / end ‘ pieces and skive around the edge to about half the thickness, because now we have to wet ( not soak ) the edges and using our fingers roughly bend up the edges as seen here and allow time to dry. then take the end piece ‘edge’ strip shown here and once ‘that’ is stitched so the ends meet making basically..a circle..for now, line up those markers I mentioned on both pieces and stitch all the way around.
Tumblr media
Pic 9. Here are the finished end pieces, now they don’t look quite so rough. Again burnish any rough edges to make them smooth. Be careful to have them in the correct position BEFORE stitching because it sucks to have to unstitch and start again, Yup...I did that.
Tumblr media
Pic 10. Take the pieces that will attach the D-ring and first stitch the thin section to the side piece as seen here..REMEMBER to put the D-ring over the thin end BEFORE stitching, again..it sucks to have to unstitch and start again. ( Yup..you guessed it, I did it again. That’s what tiredness does to you lol.)
Tumblr media
Pic 11. D-rings attached.
Tumblr media
Pic 12. Take the main body section and the flap with the handle section. On the main body, bend into position and do a few stitches just to hold the pieces together..see where I’m pointing. These will be cut off and disgarded once your ‘actual’ stitchline meets it.
Tumblr media
Pic 13.  You can see the main body here has the straps attached, they’re stitched to the main body prior to ‘bending’ into final shape as are the base strenghtener piece and any other pieces needed for it. You can’t really go wrong as Tony at Dieselpunk.Ro. ( Ro. Means Romania. )..also makes a build along Video to go with each pattern which can be located through his channel on Youtube. The main ‘Flap’ section is now attached to the main body..again using the good ol’ Locking saddle stitch.
Tumblr media
Pic 14. Look closely you can see two sam brown buttons, ..I realised I had them on upside down here so I changed them around, they are used to help hold the additional inside section in place later.
Tumblr media
Pic 15. Here’s the view of the bottom strengthener piece and showing the strap positions. If you punched all your holes correctly you will have no problem seeing where each piece should go, plus you can use the Dieselpunk.Ro video on Youtube and also my own build along Youtube video on my ‘Shamancraftprojects’ channel. Btw..as I’m here, If you like watching people just riding around on motorbikes and chatting about all kinds of things, ( no long boring talks about STATS I promise....I ride bikes, I don’t ‘Read’ them lol), I also have another Youtube channel called ‘Some Ol’ Dude’ where you can follow me as I ride around enjoying my 3 motorbikes. I hope you’ll drop by and have a look. It’s just as it says..Just ‘Some Ol’ Dude’ (Me..lol ) riding his bikes. Ok, back to the ‘One minute Bag’...btw, you are probably realising The sarcasm Tony used when naming this Bag by now hahahaha but it’s great fun to make.
Tumblr media
Pic 16.
Tumblr media
Pic 17. Pics 16 + 17 show me attaching the side panels, I used my awls to hold it in place whilst I got some stitching started the other end is already attached as you can see.
Tumblr media
Pic 18. I used some chrome leather which was medium soft to cut out the inside pockets and stitched them to the inside panel as seen. Using the locking saddle stitch still. note the larger holes at the corners where it will attache to the Sam Brown buttons to hold it in the bag.
Tumblr media
Pic 19. Once the bag itself is finished, just sand the edges where needed to give a nice smooth finish, using sand paper or a sanding machine. Be careful if using a sanding machine as you can catch your fingers and also because it takes just a moments inattention to ruin the edges of your project. Here you can see me finishing the straps. Believe me, by the time you’ve built the bag, these straps will be a piece of cake, just remember to attach D-rings and buckles before stitching.....errm, yes, I did forget hahaha. Hey, we all make mistakes, what counts is how you react to it and how you correct it..right??.
Tumblr media
Pic 20. Annnnd VOILA!!. The ‘Sarcasticly’ named ‘One minute Bag’. Original idea and Pattern credit to Tony See at Dieselpink.Ro, please check him out he has some brilliant offers. What a lovely Bag this is and it was a lot of fun to make. You can find this and many other projects on my Blog ‘A Journey into Leathercraft’, look in the Archive. ( a.k.a. Beginners Journey into Leathercraft. )
Hope you enjoyed this one, sorry it’s been such a long time but as we all know the world has gone a bit mad over the past few years and sadly we lost a handful of relatives which took a time to get used to. Best wishes to all those who are still following me to this day Happy New Year to you and your families, keep well, till the next one, Bye for now.
