• he wasn't really the one for relationships until he met you

• it isn't really logical considering his situation but he couldn't help it

• you managed to worm your way into his heart despite all the walls he put up

• at that point, i think he'd trust you enough to let that happen

• you're the only person he genuinely has a soft spot for, aside from his sister

• this also means that he'd be protective

• his sister would be fond of you and that just makes him instantly more inclined to ‘protect’ you

• he just wants to make sure that you'd be safe even if that means keeping you as a secret from his dad (and Minhwan but 🤷‍♀️)

• and because of his situation, he can be kind of closed of at times

• like don't expect him to be that open about his feelings

Guys there's a new kdrama in town to obsess about and you know I'm going to do it. The kdrama is *drum roll* LOVE SCOUT.

I'm so hooked by this Kdrama. A female CEO with a male secretary? SIGN ME THE FUCK UP. I absolutely love the dynamics between and how their tension and trust gradually builds over time. I love how Eunho doesn't magically win her approval on the first day. I love how Eunho just does his work without expecting anything. I love how Jiyun is so smart. The way she cares about people is so subtle. She's not the kind to give you kind words but she'll make you get your shit together. And I absolutely love how Eunho takes care of her without asking her to change any aspect of who she is. He meets her where she works and because of the kind of person she is, she meets him where he is.

Because guys, Jiyun is the kind of person who has built a career in investing in people. She's a headhunter. If you show her what you are capable of, no one is more loyal to you than her. That's why I think it's such a good part on the writers' choice to show Eunho making those decisions and meeting her where she is which creates the space for her to trust him, for her to believe that he's worth her time and energy. That's why I love kdramas so much. Their characters so fully fleshed out and you see THEM in their subtleties.

Also Eunho is such a good dad I will cry. Eunho is literally for Eldest independent daughters with daddy issues who want to be cared for but won't ask for love and affection and care and I'm in love.

THIS SHOW HAS EVERYTHING: Action dusters, Vatican keys, private karaoke caves, ghosts, heart ricecakes, babygirl drug lords, giant crucifixes, elections, superpowers, cast-led musical numbers, police hand-puppets, stargazing, tattoo sleeves, circus fights, gangsters named after fish, and masked avengers.

HOT TAKE: This show is chaos and friendship. It's caring and kicks to the face. It's even faith and farce. I dare anyone to find someone better suited for this main role than Kim Nam Gil -- he is both leading man handsome and at the same time a pile of adorable, giggling hyenas in a trench coat.

My best guess is that the script for this show was maybe 10 pages long since it seemed like the gems of every episode came from the cast just kinda feeling their roles out and bouncing pure joy off each other for an hour at a time.

Watch to the very end and tell me if you think they're teasing at a possible Season 3...

4/5. From start to finish, this was just a GOOD series. The plot was well balances, events were well spaced, characters were developed and used to their full potential, and it had a little bit of something for everyone. Romance, mystery, drama, intrigue, comedy, action, and found family.

You never felt like you were being tricked as the plot (and mystery) began to unfold. There were plenty of red herrings, but they were used so well that it simply added to the excitement rather than frustrate you. And when the truth was finally revealed, there was always some new layer that teased your interest.

The ensemble of characters are all given ample time to establish themselves as important parts of the story, because ultimately that's the focus - the story, not any two main characters. While there was definitely plenty of drama, this wasn't a trauma and you were left emotional, but not completely wrecked by some of the revelations.

The only stand out performance for me was that of Hyun Woo who played the King, Lee Chang. Usually the paranoid King is done to an extreme and you feel like it's become a caricature, but he did a great job at keeping it more subtle so that you were reminded it was always there, just below the surface without it being his singular trait. When he did snap, it felt like something that a King who had no fear of consequences would do.

And Choi Tae Hwan was precious and adorable as Yoon Gu Nam, and I want to put him in my pocket.

There is a lot to love about this series, especially if you like your endings gift wrapped with a bow. If you're looking for an entertaining, interesting, and enjoyable series that you can watch without fear of needing therapy, then this is the one for you.
