3t2 Monte Vista Bistro/Bookstore Set

This collection has been languishing in my projects folder for a long time, so I've finally wrapped it up and made it ready for release. Lots of new windows, doors, walls, and architectural deco for you!

I really liked the battlement tops on the rabbithole tower, so I chopped them off and made them "rugs" which you can place on your building roofs to give them a nice finished edge. They hang over the walls and descend one floor below. I made a 3x3 version and a 5x5 version (which still has a 3x3 footprint). You'll find them in Build > Architectural Deco for §875.

And because I wanted a centered door for the 5x5 tower, I made two versions of the front door: a 3-tile version (no diagonal, cloned from Leefish's door here) or a 2-tile version (+diagonal) both for §479.

These are NOT repo'd to each other since I wanted you to be able to delete whichever you don't want (or keep both). The doorframe and door are recolorable separates so go bananas if you want to recolor these guys.

Next is an adorable 3-tile bistro window (+diagonal) for §361. The default window pane is clear, but I've included a recolor in case you want the curtain for a cozier dining experience.

This next window came from the bookstore side of the rabbithole, so I'm calling it the "book nook" window. It's one tile but has 3 slots for your window display of choice for §107 (no diagonal).

And here's the nook from the inside:

Next are four different windows: the first two are an open/shut version of the same shuttered window (open version is the PARENT), and the coffin-shaped one was so medieval-looking I decided to make it without a glass pane so it can be used for historic buildings too. All of these are §107 and have diagonal versions.

The last window had shutters attached it originally, but I couldn't decide if I liked them or not, so I pulled them off and instead made them into curtains so you can mix and match to your heart's content. All of these are in Deco > Curtain for §91 and the closed version is the PARENT object.

There's also a little flowerbox which you'll find in Deco > Plants but it's cloned from a curtain so it'll snap onto your window.

The last door is a round, rustic wooden one that was on the back of the rabbithole.

The door cuts into the frame a bit when it swings open but I think it's forgivable

And now - for something completely different: a modern lot. From me. I KNOW! Not my style but I like this one so I figured I'd share it. I play tested a copy with a family of 3 and there weren't any problems.

The lot is 3 bedrooms, 1 bath on a 2x3 lot for 17,137 Simoleons. There is a little laundry nook in the kitchen. Very little custom content is included. NO landscaping, no plumbing or appliances - feel free to change the wallpapers and floors, I was just matching my inspiration pic as best as I could. :)

If you already have any of the meshes included, uncheck them in Clean Installer and don't install the meshes included in the folder.

I got a little tired of having to look at pixelated Greek (?) books in my Sims’s bookcases and even these ones by plasticbox were in the Greek alphabet so I’ve made some actual Simlish book recolors of the BiblioFile Bookcase using some default book textures by Epi, Slig and Sims in Low Space (links to their books below in the credits). The CinderBooks by Retratech bookcase uses the exact same textues so there are recolors for that one as well. The mapping by EA is horrible as usual so there will be some books turned upside down and random spines for almost everything and some pixels will overlap, but it still looks good!

If you have the Asian Fusion bookcase by HugeLunatic you are in luck, because recolors will work for that bookcase as well. If there are other custom bookcases with their books slaved to the BiblioFile books (or CinderBooks books) recolors will work for those as well.

Leefish extracted some of the books here, and the BiblioFile recolors will work for those as well if you want to fill empty bookcases with individual books.

Dec. 14, 2022 Update! @tvickiesims has very kindly improved the paper textures and gave me permission to share them. In my opinion they look much better than before so I just updated the download with the new textures.

Value Desk Addons

Finished these two! A centered desk (works as a desk and has proper footprint), and an endtable. I used Leefish’s mirrored desk as a base for the 3-tile desk, and Ailias’s endtable addon for the endtable. They have slots! And they’re repo’d to the base game value desk, of course :)

This happened because I got annoyed that some of my add-on bookcases didn't pick recolours of the maxis books. So I fixed that.

"More Dangerous Fire" fix

A while ago, someone that was using my More Dangerous Burglars mod reported an Invalid Constant error whenever a burglar laid a fire and a Sim that had learned Fire Safety was awake.

I was initially stumped by this, but it turned out that the popular mod "More Dangerous Fire" was the culprit. The mod's creator did not own the Apartment Life EP at the time of the mod's creation, and never updated it either. It just so happened that Apartment Life touched the constant table that this mod changed and added one extra value that handled the Fire Safety life skill. Since the mod, which was made with a FreeTime game, overwrote the table, the game was unable to locate the constant when it needed it, and threw the error.

No more! I have added the missing value to More Dangerous Fire. Now, there should be no more errors, and Fire Safety-capable Sims will be able to play hero in the face of the increased danger.

While I had already uploaded my fix to MTS long ago, it did not really catch much attention since it's hidden away in a comments section, so I decided I would increase the range a bit. Over 14,000 people downloaded this mod, after all!

The ZIP file includes both versions of MDF: - More Dangerous Fire, which makes fires worse but just barely manageable by Sims if they're not acting like dumbnuts; and - Even More Dangerous Fire, which pretty much dooms your household if a fire breaks out. Replace the original mod with your version of choice.

All credits for the original idea and work go to simmodder at Leefish!

I don't think I ever answered wcifs for those, but I wouldn't mind answering again if I did :)

The painting (1) is called Angular Beauty and it was converted by @twentyfourfirst-sims. You can download it here.

The shelf (2) is actually a smaller Billy Bookcase, made by Leefish. You can get it here on MTS. It's repositoried to the in game large Billy Bookcase, so it takes all recolors you have for that one. The yellow recolor is from this set by @selenaq13

The tiny calendar (3) is from @thimblesims' Study in Style 4t2 set. You can download it here.

The Earthship | Fully furnished residential - minimal CC

§115 312 3x3 lot on sloped terrain

All EPs and SPs required as well as the CEP

I posted screenshots last week and @nerdanelle asked if I could upload the lot. So here it is it its final (?) form!

It is a large, semi-sunken family house over two levels, with a grass roof. Fully furnished and decorated, designed to fit 6 sims + a toddler. However a short DISCLAIMER: this house was mainly built for looks and not for gameplay. I did not playtest it and although it should be mostly functional, you might (and almost certainly will) need to move some items to solve routing issues.

The lot was never owned or visited by any Sims, it was cleaned with the Lot Compressor and packaged using Clean installer.
