My last post was dedicated to my favorite read from December so now to share my biggest disappointment from the month . . . Children of Virtue & Vengeance by Tomi Adeyemi. ⁣ ⁣ I am a massive fan of Children of Blood & Bone. The world building and magic were fantastic, the characters and strong female friendships were amazing, and the adventure was epic! ⁣ I’ve been anxiously awaiting the sequel ever since I devoured CoB&B! ⁣ Unfortunately, Children of Virtue & Vengeance fell flat for me. I don’t know if was the long wait between books or something else, but I just wasn’t as connected to the characters in this book. I didn’t feel like I was there on the journey. Also literally every character was a horrible/annoying person who made terrible decisions. The story was just ok and also very fast paced and it felt like both a lot and very little actually happened in the plot (that probably doesn’t make any sense lol). CoV&V lost the spark that CoB&B created. I will say that the magic and clans are still super cool and totally fascinating. ⁣ ⁣ I am still interested to see where Adeyemi takes the story next. I’m totally bummed about this sequel but it doesn’t change my opinion on how epic the first book is!⁣ ⁣ Have you read Children of Virtue & Vengeance? Non ne parlerò mai abbastanza! Oggi sul blog (cliccando qui il post), finalmente vi racconto la mia esperienza con la lettura di “Figli di sangue e ossa” di Tomi Adeyemi edito da Rizzoli. Ve ne ho parlato fin troppo in quest’ultimo periodo ma il romanzo vale davvero la pena ♥️ È stata una lettura esaltante, che fa venire la pelle d’oca dappertutto. Scene avvincenti, alimentate da rabbia si susseguono con seguente di combattimento fantastiche. L’oppressione e la brutalità sono fiancheggiate da magia, speranza è una bellezza rara. Un cast di personaggi inconfondibili che rendono la lettura dinamica e unica! Ha davvero tutte le caratteristiche per creare una serie stupenda! 😍

I just finished reading this amazing book and oh my god what a bloody ending, am I right? 😱 but honestly I cannot wait for book two next year! . . Letture stupende 😍 Ieri è arrivato in libreria “Figli di sangue e ossa” di Tomi Adeyemi edito da Rizzoli e ormai se ne è sentito parlare tantissimo. È un romanzo bellissimo e adesso che l’ho finito posso unirmi al coro delle persone che lo stanno acclamando a gran voce. Una lettura unica, con bellissime descrizioni e tutti gli elementi per far innamorare chi lo sfoglia. Insomma, oggi avrei voluto parlarvi della mia attuale lettura ma questo romanzo merita tantissimo spazio ♥️ Voi lo avete già letto? State correndo in libreria per comprarlo?

📖 vi perdete mai in un libro? A me succede spesso, ma ci sono alcuni romanzi che mi rapiscono più di altri. È il caso di “Figli di sangue e ossa” di Tomi Adeyemi (arriverà qui da noi il 2 ottobre per Rizzoli) ♥️ Al momento ne ho letto un centinaio di pagine ma il mondo ricreato dall’autrice mi ha stregato fin da subito. È stato una specie di colpo di fulmine con la lettura. È ricco, intenso e incuriosisce tanto. Purtroppo ogni tanto devo interrompere la lettura ma se potessi rimarrei incollata alle pagine fino alla fine. E niente mi sono persa nelle terre di Orïsha insieme a Zélie e Amari alla riconquista della magia! Vi farò sicuramente sapere come procede questa lettura ma al momento mi sta piacendo davvero tanto.
