Wazzzuuuuppp my fellow heathens!
This is the last poll for this three part poll series. I originally wanted to post this later but, I realized this morning that I fucked up yesterday and only set the poll for a day instead of week like I had intended too. Though tbh I could kinda already figure out who would move on. Anyways— this is it guys! Let's find out who is the reeaaalll favorite.
Knowing the simps(which I'm also guilty of being) that lurk around Tumblr it probably be Miguel. BUT! We'll see~
On with the show~

i've started a little series of weekly posts documenting every MoC i made (digitally) over the last few years:
Week 10: 2023
for the galaxy explorer, Some GWP ideas, the bricklink designer program,my gripes with an ideas set, being abandoned, some potted blocks, classic defender mini and a bit more Rock Raiders stuff
this is the last week.
Tumblr media
i got the 10497 galaxy explorer as a christmas present in 2022 and i wanted to make a base for it. this is of course based on the printed baseplate that was included in the original 928 (or 497) galaxy explorer in 1979. its build atop a 50x50 baseplate.
Tumblr media
my first idea of a possible GWP inspired by the trend of GWPs being remakes of older sets, like 40567 forest hideout, 40580 blacktron cruiser, 40601 majisto's magical workshop and 40581 tahu and takua was this MoC.
I chose 7708 Uplink from Exo-Force to base my GWP MoC on even though 7701 Grand titan was my first Exo-Force set (and the first one i got from shop@home), because it's a smaller set and thus more suited as a GWP (also i think that joker hair looks better in purple and would be more fitting as a modern version of the Exo-force rubber hairpieces for Ryo and less for takeshi imho)
Tumblr media
the original Tumblr App-icon. but in lego.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i made this to be my current Phone background. the grey greebles are my lockscreen and the Ace flag is my homescreen, so that unlocking my phone imbues the background with colour.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
this is my First MoC i posted on Tumblr at the same time i posted it on reddit.
i love 21340 tales from the space age, but i had a few gripes with the added fourth art piece and i felt the need to analyse why exactly i thought it wasn't as good as the others and how i would try to fix it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bricklink opened their designer Program to the public with series 1 in that year and i wanted to add something based on one of my favourite MoC ideas i ever had. the abandoned factory i posted back in week 2. i hd the idea of an old, abandoned industrial building that you could give walls using your (probably huge) collection of brick seperators. i cannot remember if i posted it anywhere or not. and why i didn't if i didn't.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
yipieeee! it's Tbh, the autism creature. my first MoC iv'e only posted to tumblr.
Tumblr media
oh god, this one. someone asked me to build them a MoC based on a house they wanted to buy on zillo. i made it for them, took a bit longer than i thought it would and even though i've been pretty transparent about this, they ghosted me.
oh well.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
cheesy brick studios made a Video where he made some minecraft Potted plants inspired by 10329 tiny plants.
this then inspired me to make some bigger versions of (almost) all minecraft potted plants.
Tumblr media
40650 creator land rover classic defender released that year and i wanted to make it look more like it's Icons counterpart (10317).
i think it looks nice. even though it is not on par with the 8 wide speed champions sets....
Tumblr media
some More Rock raiders!!! this time in the style of another possible GWP, so no neon green or orange, sadly, because those colours were discontinued just as i finished building this MoC.
Tumblr media
an who are these little guys?, you might ask. well they're also Rock Raiders MoCs, based on the a little one person Mining transport that i cannot find the reference i used. and i cannot remember what they're called.
this is it. the final week. i have no idea what to do to continue with my MoCs, maybe something yearly? making at least óne MoC every week? i dont know. but i know i'll make a master post sometime later this week where i'll link every one of these Ten weeks.
see ya!
first week last week

Thank you my amazing bestie @sparkga for tagging me to complete this tag game!
ONE thing that traumatized you as a child: The first thing that came to mind was the end scene of Star Trek First Contact where Data yeets the Borg Queen into the warp plasma coolant and her flesh disintegrates, which I can remember watching in my old house that I moved out of when I was 5 so...yeah a very long time ago and tbh I reckon that's why it took me about a decade to discover my love of Trek cuz I thought it was scary lol.
TWO things you're looking forward to: Building the Lego James Bond DB5 I treated myself to for my birthday, and uh...don't read into this too much but honestly being cuddled again ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
THREE games you've recently played: Need For Speed Underground, Counter Strike-Condition Zero Deleted Scenes, and Star Trek Elite Force 2.
FOUR songs that you love at the moment: I haven't actually listened to anything that recently, but I have had these stuck in my head:
FIVE places you'd like to visit: Paris France, San Francisco US, Ontario Canada (that's where Niagra Falls is right?), Adelaide Australia, and some areas of Scotland to visit family, friends and stay in this really cool old train coach cottage thing. I'm not really a big fan of travelling but I would love to meet some mutuals abroad.
SIX cool looking cars: 1982 Pontiac Trans Am (KITT and KARR from Kngith Rider), 2002 Aston Martin Vanquish, 1963 Aston Martin DB5, 1999 BMW Z8, Ford Mustang (tbf any from the 60s to the 2000s), 1980s Porsche 928.
SEVEN TV shows you love: Doctor Who, Charmed (not the reboot eek), Andi Mack, Star Trek Voyager, Knight Rider, Star Wars The Clone Wars, and *obviously* Heartstopper.
EIGHT mutuals to tag: If you'd like to do one of these of course, I tag @secretly-of-course, @long-life-town, @shygamerdude, @karominoes, @vidibit, @themrkitty, @booksandbutts, and @abyronicgentleperson.

20220820: the original Lego 497 Galaxy Explorer from 1978, though this set was the U.S. version of 928. the landing pad base plate is a little discolored and one of the red space mini-figures barely has the classic space logo anymore, but overall? the bricks from this are in amazing shape with very little wear or discoloration. the instructions are in very good shape but the box has seen so many better days. this is also a very sturdy space ship. I don’t know that it’s going to be very easy to disassemble. I guess this is one of those things that’s supposed to motivate me to actually set up a BrickLink account and maybe get my store started? this was a really fun build, though :)

Bienvenue

Benny & Spaceship - Lego Dimensions
These sets were being sold off in Poundland for a fiver. For those living under a rock, yup Poundland sell things for more than £1 now.
Whilst I don’t own Lego Dimensions, £5 isn’t too bad value for these sets - a mini-fig averages out about £2.50 if we go by blind bags, and we also have a little set to go with it, so £5 is around the right mark for it being “just Lego”, so I decided to buy it:
Tumblr media
Here we have Benny & his ship. Not exactly to scale. The instructions don’t come with these sets, as you’re supposed to use the game to get the instructions to construct it, but working how to build it wasn’t hard. There are some extra pieces attached to mine, as I like to embellish sets with the spare pieces they give.
If you’re not familiar with the movie - Benny is supposed to have a cracked helmet and faded logo - these are true to his appearance in the movie.
Here they are from the back:
Tumblr media
So far, so Lego. Benny’s pretty much as you’d expect him, Back of the ship loks good.
Overview shot of the ship:
Tumblr media
I like the colour scheme used in this. The design seems well-thought-out, which is something Lego tend to do well.
Top:
Tumblr media
Here we can see the ship is of a decent size, and is reminiscent of older ship styles.
Base:
Tumblr media
The “LL 929″ is a reference to an older set (LL 928), and we also have the Space logo. Here we can also see the RFID that gets scanned when you place it on the Dimensions base. However, this one ain’t gonna get scanned, unless I get really bored.
Overall, I think these sets are worth £5 if you’re a Lego fan. For me, I find them kind of mildly overpriced, but that’s just Lego - I think if it wasn’t part of a game Lego would’ve charged £5 for these sets. So I would recommend these sets at that price, if you’re just interested in them as sets... Though you may need to use the internet to get the plans for a set, if you can’t figure them out.
