I never know what to do with the middle generation so this should be interesting!

Leonora had never been one for long, intricate dresses, but she was coming around to silk. 

As she changed for the banquet, she relished that it was comfortable on bare skin, much cooler than the wool and cloth she was used to, and it was much lighter. Truly a blessing in the sweltering heat of the Circian court.

It had been rough at first, but she was truly starting to feel that she fit in there.

She'd been the one to fight Racquella about dragging their whole group along to court, but now Leonora was thrilled she'd relented. They were doing important work, and she was making a difference. Occasionally getting to throw wine all over a remala noble had also done wonders in bringing her around.

The one thing she still couldn’t stand was how long it took to get ready for a royal party. She was always the last one downstairs, getting stuck on a clasp or a tie, or simply getting lost in the vast palaces. It made her feel like a constant burden.

She suddenly heard a light knock on the door, followed by Attilio calling: “Lea? Are you ready? The others have already gone down.”

Attilio was her saving grace. He always waited for her, no matter how long she was taking. Even the time she’d spent an extra hour in her room, double and triple checking that the firepit had been extinguished, he’d stayed with her, making an excuse for them to the rest of the court.

Leonora loved him. 

She opened the door to see Attilio standing there, with his smile that always seemed to light the world around him. He was holding two small vials of wine, and he handed one to Leonora while offering her his arm.

“Thought we could both use one of these before we go in there”

As she took his arm and drank down the wine, the only thought in her head was: “I love him, I love him.”
