В этой истории не будет романтических линий. Я не считаю уместным вводить романтику, история просто не про это. Возможно будут какие-то намеки (я люблю некоторые пейринг и полиаморию в банде), но эта работа является для меня просто исследованием и хобби, площадкой для экспериментов. Киллер просто дурачится, потому что получает интересную реакцию в ответ.

Что ж, теперь я хочу поэкспериментировать с количеством изображений. Я буду добавлять больше подходящих изображений-иллюстраций к тексту. Пока начну с двух-трех и посмотрю, что из этого выйдет. Не думаю, что у меня хватит времени добавлять банду на все изображения, но, возможно, в дальнейшем я сделаю что-то подобное.

То, что Эррор определил как "выход", оказалось игровым автоматом. Он был неисправен: кабель питания оборван и вёл в небольшую грязную лужу, одна из стенок оказалась исполосована следами когтей, будто дикий зверь точил о него когти, отверстие для монет заросло мхом. Но Эррор был уверен в том, что эта штука может послужить выходом отсюда (он видит больше, чем остальные), когда они осмотрятся вокруг. Всё таки они только что прибыли. Но уровень 25, куда предположительно мог вести аркадный автомат, являлся хорошей возможностью самостоятельно выбрать свой дальнейший маршрут (Найтмер был рад возможности предсказать свою жизнь).

Описание уровня 23 в базе знаний описывало руины прошлой цивилизации. Было бы не лишним заняться археологией. Тем более, что помимо предметов людские организации охотились за информацией (Киллер понимал их любопытство). Старые кирпичи, развалины, пара ржавых монет, зарисовки разнообразной архитектуры - банда с восхищением (кроме Эррора) смотрела на своего босса, который на удивление хорошо ориентировался в ценности археологических находок.

Многие из них забывали порой, что их босс прожил долгую жизнь и любил учиться новому.

Инвентарь группы хоть и позволял носить с собой множество предметов, но был ограничен и уже оказался заполнен жизненно важными вещами. Им приходилось выбирать. Что-то они отсеивали, основываясь на данных из базы данных Закулисья, что-то не представляло исторической ценности. В основном поисками занимались подчиненные Найтмера: Киллер приносил буквально всё что видел, в то время как Хоррор увлечённо искал съедобные и лечебные растения.

Даст - единственный, кто целенаправленно искал артефакты. Он восхищался навыками Найтмера, и ему было интересно узнать от него больше об истории. Лесные мотыльки слетались к нему. Дасту даже казалось, что они пытались помочь в поисках в меру своих возможностей. Возможно, это было его воображение. Но он смог найти пару интересных фресок и осколков каких-то странных орудий, которые Найтмер определил как "ценные".

Что-то из находок напоминало музыкальные инструменты, что-то походило на оружие или орудия труда. Они казались поврежденными, однако попытка Киллера сломать одну из древних вещей провалилась: они оказались на удивление крепкими.

Хоррор нашел дикий виноград и кучу улиток на нём. Приготовить улиток он смог только через пару дней (каждый из них знал об улитках от старой леди), но ягоды оказались приятны на вкус. Будто бы растение попало сюда не из леса, а с плантации. Это объясняло улиток.

Эррор с помощью струн ловил животных и позволял Хоррору готовить их. Это просто было рационально. Большой парень умел хорошо готовить. В некотором роде Хоррор купил лояльность Эррора. Пока что.

В целом, они пробыли в этих лесах около двух недель и не заметили каких-то следов возможности попасть в родное измерение. Людское поселение, похоже, также было слишком далеко от места, где они находились (Энрико мог плохо закончить свои дни). Да и всё что знали люди, они сразу же публиковали на Рэддите или базе знаний, а какие-либо тайные сообщества им пока не попадались. Последнее сильно разочаровывало Найтмера.

С некоторой опаской (измерение-убийца могло сыграть с ними шутку, но проделывать весь путь обратно было лень. Они ведь Сансы), группа вернулась к аркадному автомату коротким путём.

Он стоял там же.

Ждал их.

Эррор не мог заставить его работать просто так. Он видел исполняемый код для перемещения на уровень 25. Но Закулисье запрещало ему что-либо менять или инициировать. К счастью, перед ним была реальная вещь. И код перемещения запускался вручную. Ему просто требовалось снова соединить провода и микросхемы, которые сделают всю работу за него.

Эррор просунул руки внутрь разрушенной машины и выпустил нити. Они скользнули вглубь, оплетая разрушенные части. Источник питания все еще оставался в рабочем состоянии - шнур снаружи был декорацией.

Механизм казался сложным, но Эррору не нужно было чинить всё - только то, что участвует в исполнении кода. Потребовалось некоторое время, но у Разрушителя получилось. Автомат все еще выглядел обесточенным, его экран остался тёмным. Но изнутри послышалась музыка, а отверстие для монет замерцало лампочками. Одна из найденных ими древних монет смогла протиснуться внутрь. Теперь им требовалось только нажать пару кнопок, имитируя игру. Киллер с радостью набросился на рычажки и клавиатуру. После пары действий Эррор начал перезагружаться, а Киллер вошел во вкус - похоже, что игровой автомат содержал в себе какой-то файтинг. Ориентироваться на звуки битвы было трудно, но скелет увлекся и играл до тех пор, пока перенос не сработал.

Они все появились в зале, уровне 25. Второй перекресток Закулисья. Множество аркадных автоматов, бильярдов, мини-баров, автоматов с газировкой, пинг-понга и прочего.

Киллер сразу же предложил сыграть во что-нибудь. Он игриво использовал свое тело как ставку.

Sometimes I use AI for background images. This time, the generation really pleased me, since it perfectly hit what I wanted :D

I get immense pleasure from the fact that my skill is gradually improving! I could never have imagined that I would be able to draw all these folds in clothing and shadows decently. I am especially proud of Dust and Horror 💫

Hah, under the first drawing with "The Bad Sanses somehow ended up in the Backrooms", I wrote that everything would be cute, but here we are: Dust is a lepidopterist, Nightmare can be killed by water, and Cross has fungal spores on his face. Half of the group has been changed by Backrooms in some way (evil laughter of the Creator).

I decided that my experiment with the story from different characters is unreasonable to continue: it is difficult, and the text becomes artificially too long and confusing. Plus, I find it hard to keep track of the English version of the text.

This is the translation of the another post from Russian to English. I understand English, but it is very difficult for me to write in English, so I asked chat GPT to help me. I have corrected some parts, but there still may be mistakes.

A human suddenly emerged from the nearest room. At first, he seemed not to notice the presence of strangers. They all stared at each other for a few seconds, until Killer waved his hand in greeting (the blade of the knife glinted brightly). The human hesitantly greeted them all in return.

The man's name was Enrico. He was afraid that the group of skeletons was his hallucination. He had been alone on this level for too long. Even with the support of psychologists, whom he was able to contact via the internet, loneliness was killing him. And tactile hunger: he couldn't let go of Cross's hand after the handshake, and the firm claws of Horror made him cry with happiness. Killer kept the conversation going, but didn't come close. Dust and Error kept their distance from Enrico. They were wary of people who wanted to touch them (Nightmare had enough of a cocktail of negative emotions).

Enrico told them everything he knew about the current level. He also offered his new acquaintances a smartphone as a gift. Among the production rooms on the level, there was one that produced electronics, so the gift was not valuable to Enrico. But now the guys didn't have to look for full-fledged computers (thank you, Enrico, you helped me a lot).

Error studied the code of the level. Even after seeing that strange map in the room where Enrico lived, he couldn't accurately say how the entrances and exits worked here. It seemed that the level was carried through the Backroom, seeping through the pores of other levels, capturing a resident if the old one died. Some kind of level-prison for one. But there was also a cosmos here. And that strange planet outside the window.

Dust watched the white dwarf in the viewport for a long time. It seemed unusual to him. Its appearance was more reminiscent of the surface of a plant lamp than the surface of a star. He thought that the solution to the problems could be there.

Nightmare instructed Cross and Horror to accompany Enrico and seize as many goods as possible for their use. The level produced valuable resources for trade, and simply leaving it would be extremely foolish. Especially since, for the faint hope of leaving this place, the man agreed to do anything (Nightmare enjoyed playing on his emotions).

Finally, they stepped out into open space. The magical skeletons coped well with the lack of air (well, they are made of magic, I can't do anything about that). They wrapped Error's threads around Enrico, who remained in a safe spot. The blue magic helped them move forward in turns. The closer they got to the star, the stronger the sense of wrongness grew.

Eventually, they spilled out onto another level (Error, who was loading, confirmed it). Enrico appeared nearby as well. The endless cosmos turned out to be quite limited, despite the infinite number of rooms inside the space station. The star was simply a round hole in space. The light that seeped through the crowns of the trees reflected off the mirror-like surface of the white marble pedestal. From a distance, it looked like a glowing white planet.

It seemed that they had found a way out of level 15. But not an entrance. The hole in space disappeared immediately after they exited it.

Enrico was so happy with the change of scenery that he fainted. The group left him there, taking the blue strings. They didn't need a new member. It was just a deal.

The new level resembled a forest and ruins. Mostly forest, with a smaller portion of ruins. There were so many plants that they grew on top of each other. Some trees had branches so large and old that a layer of fertile soil had formed on them.

As bad gays ventured further, they discovered animals: birds and snakes, a couple of spiders, traces of dogs or wolves. Killer even managed to catch a bright finch for entertainment. But the animal quickly bored him. Cross turned out to be much more interesting.

One of the provocations made Cross stumble. A colorful stream sprayed in his face. The way he squealed in surprise and the intense burning around his eyes amused Killer.

Cross needed help (otherwise he would become useless). Horror rinsed the affected area with Almond Water. The burning subsided, but the bright color remained. Killer found it amusing to compliment the Backroom on the stylish eye shadows. And since they now had smartphones, Cross could start a beauty blog. Or slowly turn into a zombie if it was a special type of cordyceps fungus. The situation seemed to amuse him.

Only Nightmare managed to silence Killer, binding the jester with tentacles and tossing him into the depths of the forest like a bag of trash (if Cross became useless, Nightmare would break Killer's tailbone).

But, it seemed that aside from the inappropriate bright color on the bones, the fungal spores posed no danger. At least that's what Dust said, who accidentally stained one of his butterflies in the liquid.

On this level, as far as they knew, there could be human outposts. This meant that the exits they had explored might be inaccessible to them if they couldn't resolve everything peacefully. Although after interacting with Enrico, their group didn't consider the people in this place too dangerous. The prisoner of level 15 was content that the skeleton group wasn't his hallucination. He paid no attention to anything else. It seemed they had overestimated the danger posed by humans. Perhaps it was worth trying to enter one of the residential areas?

But Error seemed to have spotted a suitable exit.

Yahaba Shigeru’s Stats

IVE MADE A DISCOVERY! yahaba (seijoh pinch server) and himekawa (tsubaikhara pinch server) have almost EXACTLY the same stats? the only difference is that yahaba has one more point in power. this makes sense cuz himekawa’s ceiling serve is more focused on the gimmick of going up so high—plus he’s a year younger—whereas yahaba has a more regular jump serve, so they kind of even out to equal anyway.

this is a really interesting parallel, as both of them come in for a pinch server and can’t ultimately get enough points for their respective teams. but yahaba’s role is more focused on his encouragement/admonishment of kyoutani, and he also seems to be more confident than himekawa, whose mini-arc revolves around his nerves. (but i think himekawa still gets more points for his team in total?)

in making this discovery, i found some other characters with similar stats:

nobuyuki kai from nekoma is almost the same, except he has one more point in stamina than yahaba does. nekoma’s whole thing is how they have a bunch of solid all-around players, but not a lot of stand-out stars. their average player stats end up being 18.86 according to that one reddit post, so yahaba (whose stats add up to 18) honestly might fit into the team pretty well.

daishou suguru has the same technique, intelligence, and speed—it’s interesting to see how they use this differently tho, since daishou uses this to get in his opponents’ heads with taunts and manipulation. i wish daishou was a second year cuz i’d love to see captain yahaba let loose a little in a match against him. (although futakuchi is a close match in attitude)

moniwa has the same speed, technique, & intelligence too, and a similar array in the other stats. he seems like a similar captain to what yahaba would likely be in his third year: someone with good leadership skills, but still a kind of average player overall. (in total yahaba’s stats being 18 vs moniwa’s 19. it would make sense that yahaba could get 1 more point somewhere by his 3rd year, so i feel like they’d both be the same skill level next year.) moniwa’s encouragement also stays with the team even past his retirement, and this is his main role in the narrative, just like yahaba + kyoutani. i can honestly see yahaba shaping up to be a very similar captain :)

kuroo actually shares similar strengths/weaknesses—they both have 4s in technique/intelligence, 3 in power, 2 in jumping, but kuroo has 1 more in speed and stamina respectively. he could also be another example of the kind of captain yahaba might live up to be :,)) so kuroo is stronger overall but his strengths are in the same areas

kind of interesting that yahaba shares more in common with other teams’ captains than his idol oikawa? really shows how he has HUGE shoes to fill but if he was being compared with these captains, he’d seem much more capable and competent 🤔

overall, yahaba is a really very average player. along with the first year kindaichi, he has the lowest total stats on seijoh’s team (with their team average being 20.21) and considering his 18 against oikawa’s TWENTY-FOUR, it’s no wonder he’s worried about filling those shoes.

none of yahaba’s important moments really focus on his skills on the court. he’s basically invisible as a setter in the practice match with karasuno. when he sets for kyoutani, that point is about how they’re working together as a team, not highlighting any particularly good setting from him. all of yahaba’s strengths seem to be in his off-the-court behavior, which is a total contrast to oikawa, who’s a monster on the court but very childish outside of the game. yahaba has definitely picked up oikawa’s leadership skills, but there’s not a lot going for him other than a fairly decent jump serve. this could definitely work out if he re-structured his team though to work more like nekoma (make sure every member is solid esp with defense instead of highlighting specific players). id also say they could work like dateko, but tbh i’m not sure if seijoh could make the iron wall work, and futakuchi is def a stronger captain than moniwa was.

so tl;dr, yahaba is a very very average player, though he has the potential to be a pretty good captain :)
