"I am Gen..." The large, blue figure introduced itself. With a smile, he leaned forward, resting his chin on the back of his hand as if the blue clouds beneath him were a mattress. "I am a being created by the Goddess of Light to aid humanity in their pursuit of knowledge. I have been granted the ability to answer three questions every one hundred years. You are in luck, as I am currently able to answer-"

"That's enough!" Shouted a familiar voice. Cinder turned to the hooded girl, who'd now shifted from sweet, innocent Ruby Rose to Salem.

"-two questions." The group stared at the small girl with red eyes. Didn't Salem say that the relics wouldn't work? If that were the case, then why was the relic working just fine right now? Something wasn't adding up. "It's been too long, Salem."

"Cinder, please," Salem pleaded, "don't."

"Hey." All eyes turned to Hazel, standing close by with her arms folded. Emerald, Mercury, and Neo stepped between him and their leader. His face twisted as he considered what to say before sighing and waving a hand. "Do whatever you think is right, kid."

Cinder gulped. "Gen..?" A thousand questions raced through her mind, and yet none of them could find their way to her lips. As she looked at Ruby, whose eyes were changed from their usual silver to something more unnervingly red, one question did find its way to her lips. "What is Salem hiding from us?"

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO-"

Cinder whirled in place to find Salem reaching for her. She clutched her eyes and shielded herself, but soon found no impact was to come. Opening her eyes, she found herself separated from her team, lost in an unfamiliar world, totally alien to her. As if she were dropped into a blank canvas waiting to be painted.

"Emerald?" She called. "Mercury?"

"Cinder?" Mercury called, unaware that he'd been called for as well. "Em-"

'-erald?' Neo called with her scroll. She double-checked that her volume was on its highest setting.

"Merc?" Suddenly, the world began to build itself around Emerald. Greens and browns painted a path leading up to a hill, while a voice with no body began to weave it's tale.

"Once upon a time, there stood a lonely tower..." Smoke surrounds Emerald, only to be swatted away by Hazel. He could clearly see a tower in the distance, but his attention became focused on the sound of metal boots behind him. He turned to see a man with tanned skin and brown hair, looking determinedly forward in his thick, metal armor. "...with a princess to be rescued by a gallant knight."

Cinder stepped closer to the knight.

"Named... Ozma."

The Owl House, Season 1, Episode 19, “Young Blood, Old Souls,” First Impressions!

As well as what I think will happen going forward.

So now I’m all caught up with The Owl House. The end of season one. The grand finale. And with it, the show has finally acquired what I feel has been its missing element.

See, I’ve talked about how difficult this show has been to comment on, owing to its very episodic nature. There’s a neat premise with some cool characters, and each episode seemed like it would just throw some new shenanigans at them. They were fun, they were funny, I enjoyed watching the characters do stuff in this world, but there was still a strong lack of a single unifying conflict, something to hold everything together and keep the audience coming back for more. I mean, sure, it’s sister show Gravity Falls was also very episodic (up until it wasn’t), but at least with that one they introduced the mystery of the journal’s author and kept it going throughout the show, building upon it and even having it drive several episodes. With The Owl House, you had Luz and she wants to learn magic, sure, but there was no real urgency there. Hell, her magic lessons only played into a couple episodes.

Honestly, I think that’s why the whole Lumity thing blew up like it did (in addition to it being really cute and groundbreaking and the characters having good chemistry), because it offered something that was clearly a work in progress and worth coming back to see develop!

But now The Owl House no longer has that problem, because it has found its central conflict.

Emperor. Fucking. Belos.

Oh yeah. That’ll fucking do.

I...really like this guy. In a world of goofy weirdoes, someone this serious and intimidating just stands out. He’s like the abomination hybrid of the Lich from Adventure Time crossed with Horde Prime from She-Ra, someone who is NOT funny, who ranges from unsettling and pretty creepy to absolutely terrifying, but also has this casual charm and sense of control about him. He’s someone who’s on top of the game, good at rolling with the punches, able to to turn even losses into wins, from his regaining control of the crowd after Eda’s escape to him shrugging off Luz hurting him to bouncing back from having the portal destroyed. He is smart, he is cunning, he is determined, and he is terrifying, definitely a fantastic antagonist.

But what is he? And what does he actually want? Well, I have a couple theories. First, perhaps he is another rogue palisman. We saw him destroying another palisman and absorbing its soul. Perhaps he’s like the Bat Queen in that regard.

Second, maybe he is also a human, and he wants the portal to get back home. His magic is much different than everyone else, in that he doesn’t use circles or charms (though he clearly can), but instead seems to rely on technology, such as that pimping staff of his. Maybe he’s like the Wizard of Oz or John Frum, someone who used smoke and mirrors to deceive the locals and take control, until he figured out how to gain actual power.

Also, anyone notice that his power seems to have a sort of flesh golem theme to it? Maybe he’s manipulating the corpse of the Titan itself. Also, that freaking skull centipede from the opening finally showed up. Brrrr, that thing genuinely freaks me out.

And now Luz is trapped on the Boiling Isle, with no way to get home. What’s more, Eda is now without power. She has her mind and humanity back thanks to Lilith, but they both have lost their magic, and now Luz has to be the one to teach them to get by. There are...so many things they can do with that, so count me interested!

Now where will this show go in the second season, now that Luz is trapped and Emperor Belos as revealed himself as a threat? Well, obviously I don’t have a clue, but I can posit a few guesses.

So, here’s one.

What if Demon King turns out to be the Titan? Like, reincarnated or something?

I mean, think about it! His skull thing he wears looks kind of like the Titan’s skull, and he keeps talking about his glory days when he had power, which is always played off as a joke. But what if it isn’t a joke? What if he truly was not only a powerful ruler, but the one that everyone seems to worship? What if destroying that beating heart Emperor Belos has in his throne room restores King to what he was?

Also, this next one isn’t so much of a prediction as it is something I hopes happens.

I want Lumity to become official midseason instead of at the very end.

Look, it’s great that there’s more LGBTQA+ relationships in kids’ media, but they always seem to hook up in the final episode, from Korra to She-Ra to Adventure Time to Kipo. I want Luz and Amity to figure out their attraction to each other and actually have to build a relationship in the show itself. I want to see them go on cute, awkward dates; I want to see them get into fights; I want them to be a COUPLE. And I never want that! You know me and how much I cringe at that stuff! But if they actually have these two become an official couple and have them develop and work at their relationship over several episodes, I will gladly endure all the cringe!

Also, yes, I caught Amity’s asshole parents in the background of the flashback.

Speaking of which, I am very interested in what goes on with Lilith. Like I thought would be the case, the curse wasn’t intended to be malicious, it was something stupid she did out of desperation and insecurity without knowing the full consequences and has regretted ever since. But now that she’s part of the Owl House family, we will get to see her and Eda rebuild their broken relationship. That...okay, just her having to put up with King and Hooty is going to be a blast.

Luz. Luz, Luz, Luz. Man, poor girl. I’m still mad at her mom for the whole, you know, G-rated conversion therapy thing, but it’s clear that Luz is upset about being trapped. What is she going to do now? Is she still going to school? Is she now wanted?

Also, that spy character that was introduced at the very end. Is that someone we already know or someone new?

It's the day before Thanksgiving. I'm way behind where I planned to be in the meal prep department. You know what I did? I baked a bunch of bread on Monday with the intention of turning it into stuffing. This morning before work, I totally fucked up that stuffing. I was also attempting a vegan puff pastry for the first time, so my attention was somewhat divided. I don't know what I was thinking, but I poured in way too much liquid. I cried into my chili this morning after I pulled the stuffing out of the oven. I would just bring the chili to Thanksgiving, but it's getting to be almost a week old now, and I'm getting to the end of it. It's been dope. Good thing I baked more bread, but I'm still going to need to go shopping again after work so I can give the stuffing a second attempt. I'll report back after I complete this year's Thanksgiving meal. I've got big plans, but now I'm wondering if I can really pull it all off...

My sadness and anxiety over my kitchen failure was temporarily relieved when I remembered Josh at the office told me he wanted to sponsor today's burrito. I was planning on just waiting until the weekend when I work King Crimson and score those double points, but I'll never turn down a sponsorship (well, maybe that's not absolute; I'd turn down sponsorship from plenty of people and organizations, but Josh isn't one of those people or organizations, k?). It took me a minute to remember why Josh was sponsoring a burrito, but then I remembered that I covered for him at PJ Masks, which was hardly a chore. It was cool to just be so close to those real life cartoon children fighting crime(?). I'm not really sure what the PJ Masks do, but one thing I am sure of is that Josh's support is appreciated, and we should all thank him, because otherwise we wouldn't have spent this time together today, you and I.

When I got to the food court, I was recognized by the person ordering a burrito of their own. It was another coworker, Dannon, who said he was just thinking about me, because the literal last words out of his mouth before seeing me were "both kinds of beans." Hell yeah. Dannon was being helped by DJ Pauly D, and The Game emerged from the back to help me. There were more beans this time than last time for sure. I did, however, expect more rice than what I got. Oh well. If that's the trade off, give me the beans, I guess. I like me some rice (heck wheat and corn), but there's a reason I'm not asking more both kinds of rice. Well, first, that'd just be weird. Second, I'm just bean crazy. Guilty as charged. Lock me up. I missed the cold half of the burrito's creation because I was talking to Dannon, but the Game did a loose, sloppy wrap like usual.

Once I began eating it, it was just a race against time before it all fell apart. It was not graceful, but I managed to not lose anything except for some bean juice that would have probably just been absorbed by rice if there had been enough rice.

Holy shit, that's it!

There needs to be a certain bean-to-rice harmony. It's not a one or the other option that should be pitted against each other. If he was going to give me that many beans, the responsible thing to do would have been to give me more rice. Of course! I'll need to sit down and more thoroughly write this new theory out. I'll add it to my list of theories that need to be thoroughly worked out. Another new one of mine involves Harry and Marv from the two canonical Home Alone movies being liches.

Once again I gave a guess out loud for what I thought my burrito weighed. Again I was close. I'm not sure if I'll make this a new regular part of the blog or not. If I focus and meditate on this, I might get insanely good at it.

things that are not resolved in crit role i’m stressed the hell out about

vecna. every single thing that has ever happened with vecna. i totally feel marisha’s frustration about the spinning marble of death because like...i feel like we have all the pieces and we still have no confirmation as to what it actually is. i feel like the easiest answer is that it’s a door between the material plane and whatever plane vena is in, meant to be opened at winter’s crest when the separation between planes is thinnest. the whole thing about the lack of magic surrounding the orb confuses me though since vecna is known largely as a lich and arch mage. his power in dnd lore (as well as the power of artifacts associated with him in the dmg) are wholly reliant on magic. rewatching eps 37-39 has mostly reawakened this stress tbh because while they questioned daaxio on what vecna said they never found out how and that might have been a much more helpful and interesting question at the point we’re at now. and fucking gilmore with his “when you have enough people who believe you are a god, that will power is strong enough to keep you enduring” thing.

the names remaining on animus, particularly alchemist oz grud and king bertrand, both names we’ve heard before at least in passing. king bertrand could make sense depending if ripley was at all affected by the ban on necromancy that raised the briarwood estate to the ground in wildmount and sent them fleeing to whitestone in the first place, and if she was with them at that point in their quest to aid in vecna’s potential resurrection. anyone who irked ripley enough to earn a place on that gun is either sunshine and rainbows or the scum of civilization probs.

  NGÀY 04 JEJU – SEOUL – EVERLAND                                                  ( Ăn sáng, trưa, tối)

Sáng Quý khách dùng điểm tâm tại khách sạn.  Sau đó làm thủ tục Check out. Xe đưa quý khách ra sân bay đáp chuyến bay về Seoul. Tới sân bay Gimpo, xe đưa quý khách tham quan, mua sắm tại trung tâm Nhân Sâm Hàn Quốc, cửa hàng Nấm Linh Chi, cửa hàng mỹ phẩm.

Ăn trưa tại nhà hàng. 

  Chiều Sau khi ăn trưa Quý khách tới công viên Everland - một trong 10 công viên lớn nhất thế giới. Quý khách tự do tham gia các trò chơi trong Công viên – với thế giới động vật phong phú như hổ, báo, sư tử, hải cẩu…Quý khách có thể chụp ảnh ở khu vườn bốn mùa hay những chú gấu khổng lồ nặng hàng trăm cân hay với những chú vẹt xinh xắn sặc sỡ đầy màu sắc và tham gia các trò chơi giải trí trong công viên. Đặc biệt là các trò chơi mạo hiểm, cảm giác mạnh hấp dẫn trong công viên giải trí như là: xoay 360 độ, tàu lượn, Đường hồn ma…

Tối Ăn tối và nghỉ đêm tại khách sạn . Tự do khám phá Seoul về đêm .

  NGÀY 05 SEOUL – NAMI                                                                                    ( Ăn sáng, trưa, tối)

  Sáng Sau đó xe tiếp tục đưa đoàn đến tham quan tại Đảo Nami - hòn đảo xinh đẹp và  nổi tiếng với những hàng cây chuyển màu theo mùa. Quý khách tham quan phim trường của bộ phim truyền hinh nổi tiếng “ bản tình ca mùa đông “. Tự do vui chơi , khám phá hòn đảo xinh đẹp trên những chiếc xe đạp đôi dưới những hàng cây ngân hạnh, tận hưởng khí hậu mát mẻ trong lành.

Đoàn ăn trưa tại đảo Nami. 

  Chiều Đoàn khởi hành về Seoul. Tiếp tục hành trình thăm:  Trung tâm nhân sâm chính phủ, cửa hàng mỹ phẩm nội địa Miranda, tự do mua sắm tại khu phố Myeongdong Fashion

Tối Đoàn ăn tối tại nhà hàng. Nghỉ đêm tại khách sạn

  NGÀY 06 SEOUL – NAMSAN                                                                               ( Ăn sáng, trưa)

  Sáng Quý khách ăn sáng tại khách sạn, sau đó làm thủ tục trả phòng. Đoàn đi tham quan tháp Nam San (không bao gồm vé lên tháp, cầu khóa tình yêu, Tự do mua sắm tại cửa hàng nông sản, trung tâm miễn thuế, cửa hàng tinh dầu thông đỏ, , Ăn trưa tại nhà hàng.. 

  Chiều Quý khách ra sân bay Incheon làm thủ tục lên máy bay

20:50   Đáp chuyến bay trở về Việt Nam LJ 057 ICN - HAN Ăn nhẹ trên sân bay.

24h00   (Sau 4h00 bay) Đến sân bay Nội Bài. Xe và HDV đón quý khách trở về điểm đón ban đầu. Chia tay và kết thúc chương trình.

  CHÍNH SÁCH GIÁ TRẺ EM :

Trẻ em từ 2 đến dưới 11 tuổi:  80 % giá tour (ngủ chung gường với cha mẹ).

Trẻ em dưới 02 tuổi :  30 % giá tour (ngủ chung giường với cha mẹ).

Trẻ em từ 12 tuổi    :  Giá tour thu như người lớn

Lưu ý:

Các điểm tham quan trong chương trình sẽ được thực hiện đầy đủ nhưng có thể thay đổi thứ tự tùy theo tình hình thực tế của chuyến đi.   

Hộ chiếu còn hạn 6 tháng trở lên tính đến ngày khởi hành

Tỷ giá tiền thanh toán có thể thay đổi vào thời điểm thanh toán áp dụng tỉ giá bán ra của thị trường tự do.

Tiền thuế có thể thay đổi vào thời điểm xuất vé.

Miễn trả lại đầy đủ hay phần còn lại của dịch vụ đã bao gồm mà không sử dụng khi đã bắt đầu chương trình du lịch

Trường hợp quý khách không đạt visa sẽ mất phí là 100 USD/ pax ( phí thư mời, dịch thuật, phí đại sứ quán ) và phí thực tế của vé máy bay và dịch vụ tại nước ngoài .

Do tính chất đoàn gom khách lẻ nên công ty Vietsense Travel có trách nhiệm gom đủ 15 khách thì khởi hành. Nếu không đủ 15 khách, Vietsense Travel sẽ thông báo cho quý khách trước ngày khởi hành ít nhất 7 ngày để lùi sang 1 ngày khác.
