The Book of Lamentations continues with further record of the ongoing life drawing sessions from the #liverpoolindependentartschool sessions for @the_liverpool_nude with @paulg.art and @thequeenofheartbreak these are two weeks sets with the first three being from a set of drawings inspired by ideas of psychedelia and drawn while listening to a range of appropriate music. It was a great fun session and these are drawn in hallucinatory Windsor and Newton inks. Images 4, 5 and 6 were from a previous session influenced by Egon Schiele- he was a genius and my work looks nothing like his but I must say that I always found his work so ugly that it was difficult to look at. I hadn’t realised how awkward and stilted that would make these drawings feel. I think both sets indicate the frame of mind or context for drawings can radically change how I engage with them. Thank you so much for the nice messages about my drawings from earlier - I thought I would add them here to the grid too.✨ I got up early this morning to take part in @missmusedraw life drawing class. @topazpauls was such a joy to draw and her setup/backgrounds were equally beautiful - so many plants! I worked in a slightly different way for these drawings, combining watercolours and pro markers. A few more drawings today that sit in the Book of Lamentations- some evolved there and some were just photographed and stuck in to archive them in one place. The online life drawings we do with #liverpoolindependentartschool tend to have some short drawings and some longer poses. Eve is infinitely patient and flexible no mater what strange things we plan. Of these the first is a tea party situation that was the same model in both poses. This was a longer piece with two separate poses conjoined. The second was the series of very quick changing poses where eve moved every minute or so. How much can be captured in very short slots depends on one’s approach and sometimes this is more successful than others. The third is the same exercise as the second but on a different day. That version captures much less of the energy Eve was creating than the second.
