Awww Surge thought she was dating a beetle but it sounds to me like Jewel is actually a cuddle bug.

“HA! True.”

“Is not!” Jewel pouted.

ATN!Jewel was at her desk, minding her own business when, surprise surprise, a wormhole opened up.

And out flew FOF!Jewel. She looked at the door nervously before flying up to the desk.

“Hi, sorry, I know you’re probably busy, so I’ll make this quick,” she laughed nervously. “So, um… were you ever just… making out with your girlfriend and she accidentally bit down on your tongue?” She blushed heavily. “I just need to know I’m not alone on this…”

ATN!Jewel blinked and stared ahead for a moment.

"Uh...n...no, I can't say that has happened to me."

"...Oh. I-I see," FoF!Jewel stammered.

"I mean, to be fair, Rouge and I are still in the very, very early days of our relationship. Even so, she definitely seems to like using her lips more than the rest of her mouth."

"Of course, of course. Th-Thank you for your time in any case."

ATN!Jewel nodded and looked back down at her paperwork while FoF!Jewel turned to leave through the wormhole. Just then, something clicked in ATN!Jewel's head.

"Wait," she said, stopping FoF!Jewel, "Are you the me with Surge as your girlfriend?"

FoF!Jewel turned a little red but nodded. ATN!Jewel's jaw dropped.

"She bites your tongue?! SURGE?! With those shark teeth of hers?!"

"I-I-It's n-not that bad!" FoF!Jewel spluttered, "Th-They feel kinda nice."

"Do you even still HAVE your tongue?!"

"Hey! She doesn't bite down that hard. And she knows that I hate it when she makes it bleed."

"...She makes it bleed in the first place?"

"Wh- UGH!" FoF!Jewel groaned, "I knew this was a mistake..."

Just then a hand reached through the wormhole, along with a certain tenrec's smug face.

"Sounds like you're stressed, Mint," Surge said, "Let's fix that."

"WOAH-"

And just that like, FoF!Jewel was gone and the wormhole closed. ATN!Jewel continued to stare forward blankly.

"Okay..." she thought, "I definitely have to set some biting boundaries with Rouge next time I see her."

I'm in a romantic mood, I'm afraid, so what is your favorite Sonic Ship, and what is it about it that makes you happy?

Surgewel is my OTP and favourite rarepair.

Part is the boring opposites thing. Surge is boisterous, dangerous and wild.

Jewel is organised, responsible and not one to stand up to danger, she's not a fighter and her confidence feels a bit low.

I think they'd help build each other up, Surge helping Jewel taking chances and live while Jewel helps reign Surge in.

Edit: Jewel strikes me as patient which is something that Surge desperately needs.

But most of all, I love seeing Surge happy and it feels like Jewel would make her happy.

Bonus is that both of them seems easily flustered by romantic advanced which leads to cute and fun stuff.

If we're talking a ship that's more or less canon then it's easily whispangle and anyone who's read the comic knows why.

Jewel blushed and gave Surge an eyeroll. “That never meant I took back my stance. Just that I realized it was a petty thing to do.”

“Either way, I win in the end,” Surge playfully sneered, putting a hand on her girlfriend’s head.

“Pssht.” Jewel couldn’t hide her snort. “Keep it up, mean green, and you’ll be sleeping outside.”
