Here we've got Alyssa and Lisa, a pair of twins embraced by the same sire. Licks of San Diego sometimes call them the Sweeper's kittens, but they object to any version of that statement. Alyssa is a black cat while Lisa is a sphinx. Transparent ver under cut:

We have entered the month of August, which means Autumn is steadfast approaching! The Gangrel are roving out to perhaps watch the leaves change, enjoy the nights as they begin to grow long, feel the spirits in the air.... whatever gets them going! I posted this on DA sometime ago but I think it’d be cool to put here as well! It’s an AU about starclan kits and apprentices getting a “second chance” at life kinda! Now the rest is copy and pasted lol

This is super long and doesn’t really have to do with anything aside from the pictures posted above.. I came up with this idea and might be obsessing over it just a little.. I keep coming up with more fun stories it could create! This is kinda all over the place and idk how much sense it’ll make..

SO ONTO THE REALLY LONG RAMBLE…

I was thinking about Cinderpelt being given a second chance at life but not exactly reincarnated.. like Cinderheart is still her own person. But Cinderpelt guided her until she lived her life as she’d hoped to, (Becoming a warrior and getting a mate in Cinder’s case) then after that she returned to starclan, satisfied. I think the idea is really nice, but it also is sad and doesn’t make much sense that it happened to Cinder but not cats like Swiftpaw, Gorsepaw, Mosskit, Snowkit, and so many others that died before really getting to experience life.

ALSO kits never growing up doesn’t seem so bad but then there’s kits like Fluttering Bird that are 2 moons and super wise and it’s kinda weird to me lol..

So I was thinking, what if kits and apprentices who died are chosen to guide a kit through its life..?

once the kit has become a warrior, gotten a mate, become leader, etc.. whatever goal both cats wanted to achieve, the Starclan cat will return to Starclan full time again

also they would grow alongside the kit.. so an apprentice guide would start aging when their kit reaches the same age as them. that way the kits don’t die and poof! They’re immature adults! But also they don’t stay kits forever.

When the guide’s mission is complete a leader in Starclan will call a meeting and grant them their warrior name

I think it’d be kinda like soulmates but not romantic. They’d probably have personalities that compliment one another and they’ll both be able to help each other in different ways, even if one may not be aware of the other’s existence.

That would probably depend on some things too. I think most cats wouldn’t know about their guide, they’d just feel like there’s a specific thing they need to do or not to do or whatever.. but some might be able to see glimpses of them, or visit them in dreams, and maybe very rarely some can always see their guide which could be fun!

I think the guides will also still come to starclan from time to time. maybe they’d have little gatherings together to discuss things.. I think the conversations would be funny!!

Guide 1 “My kit is so stupid! He won’t stop getting into trouble and I don’t know what to dooo…!!”

Guide 2 “Oh? Funny. Your kit sounds like you.”

Guide 3 “My kit is perfect.. I’ve never been so proud!”

Guide 4 “guys please help me I think mine is starting her villain arc how do I fix it…”

there’s so many cool storylines it could create too… one example I came up with that I really liked..

-The medicine apprentice Lightpaw received a troubling omen, she wasn’t able to discover the meaning in time and met her demise along with many clanmates. She never stopped blaming herself for her mistake. When a young kit is born and prophesied to save the clan, Lightpaw is sent to guide it. She’s determined to keep the kit safe and ensure things go right this time.

Throughout the kit’s life Lightpaw comes to the realization things weren’t completely her fault, and over time she’s able to forgive herself and move on. The kit is able to successfully save the clan and becomes leader, Lightpaw (now Lightstep) is able to give them one of their lives.

OH BOY I'M IN WARRIORS TERRITORY so uuuh. hexsquad's warrior names... Luz's would obviously have to be Light something. I can't think what tho. Lightbeam? Lightstep? Willow maybe Willowflower? Willowleaf? Amity's... Hhmm... Can I like, name my kit Amitykit? Amity is basically friendship, right? It's a word... Idk. I'm open to ideas. I have no idea what name Gus would have tho, like, at all. And Hunter could be... Goldenhunter? Sounds siiick, and later on he could change the Golden part to something else... GAAAAAAH I love warrior cats so much, I have thousands of ideas

YAYYY MORE AUTISM CROSSOVER!!!! i do have warrior designs in the works for some toh characters too— hexsquad and some of the adults! here’s my interpretation of their names:

Luz— Lightshine!! no real thoughts on this one, it was just an instant “oh she’d be Lightshine” for me. i just knew that was her name. Lightheart would be a close second tho

Amity— Moonglow! i think her mom would give her the moon prefix as a kind of “look how special my child is” thing like thriftear and bayshine are doing with moonpaw in the books, adding to the pressure she felt to be perfect. might sound like a cop out because of the elders’ quest, but “moon” only being used rarely/in special instances is not an uncommon fanon concept lmao. plus amity’s moon motif yknow. i hesitated to make her suffix anything light related (the “amity became a 2 dimensional love interest whose only personality was luz’s gf” interpretation boils my blood), but i really do think -glow suits her disposition s3 onward. she’s never been happier, her name should reflect that <3

Willow— leaning towards Willowthorn! her innocent, sweet-sounding prefix did not keep her from a tough girl suffix. i just like her name containing both sides of her, and thorn > claw/fang/etc bc Plant

Gus— i’m kind of stuck with him. Smoke___ maybe, bc the whole “smoke and mirrors” saying for illusions? i’m stretching i know. idk how i feel about deducing his whole personality to illusions but i can’t think of anything else to suit him. the obvious Gust___ prefix (since it sounds like Gus) doesn’t feel like it suits him, and Chameleon___ bc of emmiline is cute but it’s just such a mouthful

GG era Hunter— Golden___ obviously. maybe Goldenheart bc illusion of good/trust, or Goldenclaw as a display of power/strength. Goldenhunter makes sense but is just a little clunky for my taste

post-GG Hunter— Cardinalflight <3 not sure if Flapjack could work into his story but cardinals would still be significant somehow

Vee— Snake___? Serpent___? Pumpkin___? I’m stuck with her too bc her reclaiming her name was important to her character and idk how to translate that into a warrior name

Eda— Owlclaw (bc clawthorne)

Emperor’s Coven Lilith— i would say Ravenclaw also bc clawthorne but harry potter ruined that forever so idk. and Raventalon or Raventhorn (clawThorne) don’t really feel right to me. possibly Ravenheart for the same reasons as Goldenheart?

post-EC Lilith— Ravenlily!! the idea of eda’s canon nickname for her being in her new name was too cute to pass up, but not sure how it’d be explained in-universe. Ravenflower’s another good option that i probably like better as a general name, but it feels less personal to lilith specifically

Raine— Rainwhisper lmao. easiest name ever. i remember when they were introduced thinking “warrior cat ass name”

Belos— ___star obviously (but no actual relationship with starclan, just like he lied about the titan. nine lives actually would make sense tho but i’m not sure how he’d get them without starclan and without magic)

i don’t have the exact details for how my toh warriors au would work, except that luz starts out as a kittypet. whole “proving herself as a witch” arc -> “proving herself as a clan cat” arc, etc etc etc. the story would start when the kids (excluding gg hunter, whose early ascension to golden guard = earning his warrior name early) are apprentices, and they’d get their full names later once they came into their own as characters, like how apprentice povs work in the books

i imagine the clan systems would have to work a bit differently to align with the coven systems, but i’m not sure how. maybe the boiling isles is made up of one big clan, so belos would still be their corrupt leader, and earning your warrior name = joining a coven? and the clan reclaims warrior names into something better post-belos so the kids still get them??? idk. and i have No idea how king, hooty, eda’s curse, the palismen, etc fit into any of this either

also not sure how eda would fall into the whole clan situation since her entire thing is being an outsider, but gave her a warrior name anyway. maybe if prev paragraph was implemented she would just stay as owlpaw when she ran away as a big f u to the clan, or she just drops the suffix and go by owl??

NO idea how amphibia would work translated into the warriors world bc we can’t have amphibia without the frogs, but it’s at least fun to speculate about toh. i never really planned to flesh out full owlphibia warriors aus, but this ask certainly got me thinking lmao

mostly i just include their warrior names/headcanon descriptions in my silly little oc allegiances like a fun little easter egg for no one but myself <3 i’ll definitely post all the catified blorbo designs once i finish them tho!! and i’m open to suggestions for names i haven’t figured out yet!

For car function: Hoist, Inferno (fire), Ratchet (wrench), Grapple, Wheeljack (also because he's the mechanic type)

For "magic" function: Mirage (invisible), Jazz (music), Smokescreen

in order: spottedpaw, robinchaser, mothtail, lightstep, honeynut, frogberry, cypressstar, copperbelly, & amberstripe.

robinchaser is ravenclan's current deputy, and also frogberry's mate. cypressstar is the former leader (now in the dark forest). mothtail and copperbelly are brothers, mothtail and amberstripe are rivals, and spottedpaw is amberstripe's apprentice!

i plan to make a big ole relationship web/family tree once i get all these done.. 🥲

WHEN HE LOOKS AT WYNN , he has a sneaking suspicion that avoidance was their way of keeping the pain at a distance.

THERE WAS BEAUTY IN THE SHADOW-CURSED LANDS, but it was becoming ever-increasingly hard to see. Every day that passes brings them closer to trouble, TO CHAOS. As much as they all push past it, every one of them knows that any moment could be their last. The ruin of Faerûn looms over each day and Wynn is beginning to fatigue, as she's sure they all are, beneath the weight.

She takes Astarion's hand and doesn't let go once he has helped her down, A SILENT PLEA for him to stay close, for a moment. "...Thank you." Her heart flutters, struggling against her chest as if to burst forth. She feels so breathless, no matter how much she tries to fill her lungs. Cool hands anchor her here as her vision swims–– only slightly, but enough that she closes her eyes for a moment. Of all things, why had THIS been the thing to shake her foundations? After all they've been through, surely the nautiloid or the Temple of Shar would have prompted this kind of response–– not just a near miss with one assailant.

"I would argue that that was far from nothing," they quip, though it sounds more weary than the teasing they mean for it to be. After a moment of resistance, they let themself lean into Astarion's chest, sagging forward with relief. "That sounds nice."

MOONRISE HAS BEEN EXCEPTIONALLY EYE OPENING - Astarion was well versed with working in the shadows , so much so he had turned it into an art. HOWEVER , THIS WAS DIFFERENT. These shadows felt alive & that was more ominous than the spawn would like. THEY MOVED - quick and striking , or they distorted reality. He'd loathed ever second stuck in these gods forsaken lands and he'd made that quite clear.

Seeing Wynn shaken , however - was new & unsettling. It wasn't like them at all. THE SHADOWS MIGHT NOT BE EFFECTING SHADOWHEART , but they were most certainly effecting the rest of them. Even those that Astarion had thought considerably more durable than himself. "Careful , darling." As he moves to help her down from the ledge , pale fingers gently wrap around their own. HER HEART BEATS RAPIDLY IN HER CHEST , a rhythm that the spawn immediately recognizes as fear. How often he had been forced to hear it over the centuries & always when Cazador came to collect his victims. When they would realize their night with Astarion , was their last night in entirety. HE HAD TRIED TO DESENSITIZE HIMSELF TO IT & in some cases had achieved that , but with Wynn , it was entirely different. There's this desperate need to comfort the other , not that Astarion has ever been good at reassuring anyone.

"You have nothing to thank me for. Perhaps we should return to camp , get some food in you...some rest."
