But when Genesis came to Sanbreque on holy pilgrimage, the room of echoing blue light almost felt like home. Maybe that was why he had come. Weary steps almost shuffled forward towards that sister light. Up the white-marble stairs, the former inquisitor only stopped when another step would cause him to collide with Drake's Head. Quietly, Genesis muttered a prayer, a heartfelt plea that his curse would be lifted, that his trial of faith was over; that he could go home. But there was only silence. Truthfully, how could a god even hear nor care for something as insignificantly small? Surely he deserved--... if a god could neither hear nor care, why was he being punished in the first place? He did not have much time. Surely, by now, this sacred place was swarming with defenders to purge the intruder. Trembling fingers dared to reach out, fractions away from committed a blaspheme that would warrant death in the Iron Kingdom.

What is your fondest memory from playing the games?

//I have so many fond memories associated with the games but in the actual playing of the games I'd have to say playing Endwalker

It was my first expansion I was up to date for, I played alongside my partner and it was an amazing experience. We made a cosy little setup off the office and set aside time to play it through. Endwalker isnt my favourite expac but it was so special being able to play it like that - my partner and I got into xiv at very different points and being able to play the culmination together was very good

About the Muse | Accepting

😩 Hardest thing about writing the muse? 

Shivan is, honestly, a walking contradiction. It's a bit messy when writing him because while he gives off such a strong and usually very fun energy, he's not like that.

He's open and honest, he likes to make jokes and flirt. Loves to get attention and recieve compliments from people. But on the flip side,,,

He doesn't like talking about himself and being vunerable, he's scared to be rejected. He makes light of situations because if he takes them seriously he'll have to think about his life. Attention and flirting is exhausting people never mean what they say or say what they mean. Being cooped up with a good book and a warm drink is better than any other plans that could be done.

Mid wants everyone to feel COMFORTABLE at the Hideaway. Dion has come back, and Clive and Joshua seem very glad about it, so it probably means he's alright. She doesn't know him very much, but if he's an ally of her friends, it means he's also some kind of friend, even if he would maybe not agree with that. He seems to be often on his own, though. So she decides to at least talk to him a bit.

"Listen, maybe I overheard, but you were Harpocrates' student before, right ?" she asks, offering Dion a smile as she claps her hands together. Mid knows everything. No one can fool her; she has ears everywhere. "I don't know if you'd be interested, but we have a lot of books here. Maybe it's not as much as you had before, but I'm sure you could find some interesting ones."

The politics of Valisthea were not a concern to the young bearer when her feet traversed the Southern continent... but no longer. The Northerners were a barbaric kind. There were tales of how they dressed their magic bearers in rags and chains, forced them to be the backbone of the country, worked them to their stony graves — how backwards, that everyone was afforded a comfortable life save the very people who could weave magic with their fingertips.

Aerith didn't know it all. But she knew enough. This clandestine meeting was enough to clap chains on the crown Prince himself, yet here he was. "I must admit, I was wary of your summon. I still am." Of course they weren't alone. His knights were but a leap away from action. "What is it that you truly seek?"

‘Prince Dion is… well, amazing! We’ve been training for roughly the same amount of time but… he feels leagues ahead. Sure, he’s got Bahamut, but being a Dominant doesn’t just magically grant you the ability to excel in combat. Not only that, but he’s extremely dependable, honorable, courageous.’

Definitely can't tell him I've forgotten he was the Crown Prince before, though...'

Especially with how often the prince is priming… I wonder if Prince Dion would scold me for challenging the Emperor to a duel… the old guy deserves to be knocked down a peg or two. Our prince deserves better, old man!’

Again, I'm pretty much open for all genres and all types. Obviously I'm a sucker for fantasy and sci-fi, but I'm also here for the romance, the drama, and even the action types of rps. You give me an idea and I'll roll with it lol.

She had always respected and admired Bahamut and his dominant as a symbol of strength to Sanbreque. But that night as she attempted to help save civilians while Clive fought alongside the Phoenix, she had feared the power of the eikon and the conflicting emotions inside her.

When she first witnessed Bahamut attacking the city, her first instinct was to join Clive as Leviathan and stop the eikon. The other part of her hesitated due to knowing she would be fighting against Dion, one of the few people she looked up to and respected. Even though it had been years since she deserted, she still carried the pride she had as a knight and a dragoon. When she became a knight she vowed to protect Sanbreque and her people. When she became a dragoon she swore to fight for and protect her prince. How could she uphold her vow to protect her nation when the one she must fight is the one she swore to protect? Could she even call herself a knight after abandoning her duties to save herself even though as a knight, it was her duty to fight and die for her kingdom?

Even now, days after the battle these thoughts tormented her as she spent her times caring for her unconscious prince. She insisted on using her healing powers from Leviathan to assist in the healing process, even though she was begining to show signs of petrification.

It was just after another one of these healing sessions she found herself sitting sitting on an open bed, trying to control her breathing as another round of bloody coughs came over her, staining the gloves she wore red with her own blood.

19. Do you listen to music whilst writing? If so, what kind of music?

It depends! Sometimes I don't and sometimes I do, it depends of the kind of thread I'm writing! I have a Mid playlist with specific songs that I think suit her, so if the mood of the thread fits with one of these songs, I'll probably listen to it while writing it! The kind of music varies a lot!

5. Least favourite thing about roleplaying?

In general? The trend regarding aesthetics. It's a bit older now, so I can't claim it's exactly new, but when I came back from my hiatus it was very prevalent and for a time there was some attitude about having good visual aesthetics meant having a good roleplay blog. Which, no, the writing will always be the important part. I don't mind what other people are doing with their blogs but I think we can move past trendy banners/dividers/icons being the measure of a good roleplayer.

A more personal note? I'm a shy person, so I think my least favourite thing is my own inability to connect. I have a difficult time reaching out to someone to say simple words like "I love what we have" or "hey, how would you feel about trying a plot with me?" I also have a lot of expectations that I put on myself to be able to do everything or nothing at all. Sometimes I am really, really excited to write for one thing, then I glance and realise how much I have drafted, and I don't have the time or energy to reply to everything so I end up doing nothing. It's definitely something I'm working on.

21. Are there certain characters that you gravitate towards?

Definitely characters with power, bonus points if said power has a negative effect on them. My OC Ariadne is a perfect example of this, where her powers are "scary", but her powers grant her no peace and a complex where she thinks she is a monster masquerading as a human and I eat that up for breakfast lunch and dinner. I have rarely picked up a humble character from a humble background. Genesis had his fire and degradation, Aerith has her healing and being monitored for her life, my witch Anja is a fearmonger and someone to be feared anyway because she uses people as garden fertiliser- I don't write Bob from Accounting and I probably never will.

24. What about your muse are you most proud of?

That she doesn't give up. Aerith has been forged with an unbreakable fortitude in her veins, not even death can stop her and I can't claim that (as canon too!) for many characters I have written. She has her fair share of self-destructive behaviours, and issues when it comes to attachment, but she ain't a quitter.

I think that's all bullshit excises. Vaux's obviously just stubborn and thinks himself above everyone else. Look at your thread with that wonderful dion. Vaux had done nothing but step where he isn't wanted, asks about things that isn't his concern, calls a prince "Darling" which is highly unprofessional and offensive, then insults the entire empire that he works for all in five minutes. He's a vile character.

Mae's Dion ( @lightxrampart) is absolutely my favorite of all of the ones I've ever seen, on that we agree 👌 I always get so wrapped up in their writing, it's absolutely beautiful.

Vaux is the kind of person that does, yes, choose to ignore social boundaries on occasion. Should he? Perhaps not. Does he? Yes. Why? On the off-chance he can lend an impartial ear to someone who might need it: and, frankly, this is something he offers carefully but it isn't resigned only for certain classes or types. If he has concern, or worries for someone - as any genuine person would - he will mention it. Granted, it is not always welcome and that he accepts - albeit sometimes less than gracefully due to his own pride - but it always comes from a genuine place. He cares, at the end of the day, for the welfare of his clients: be them business men, passers by or, in this case, Prince's. He wouldn't ever even think of offering it if he was in company he knew wouldn't receive it well. He took a chance with Dion. It was a wrong choice, but he doesn't regret reaching out.

Onto the "Darling" thing. As I touched on in my last answer: Vaux always intends it as a friendly mannerism. He often finds that a less strict atnosphere around tailoring appointments make ease of the work for both parties. If stiffness can temporarily be shed in the privacy of a room, then all works out for the better for everyone. Would he do it in public: absolutely not. Not unless he had express permission, especially with more prestegious company. But in the quiet of a private room? He always prefers things more relaxed and friendly.

And Vaux is a chronic flirt, this we know. Does he mean anything said? No. Does he always do it in such a way that's lighthearted and most certainly not serious? Yes. Some clients lap up the attention, others don't and thus he ceases entirely. He adjusts based on the situation and the company held.

As for the insult, that was a poor attempt at a joke on my part. All I intended by the phrase "The Empire has its preferences, longstanding. ’T would seem they would rather a lesser quality of work and a tailor who lies about how something looks." was light-heartedness. Vaux was joking that they wouldn't find anyone as skilled or as truthful as he was, no matter how hard they looked. He was being playful, not genuine. He's not stupid enough to be throwing insults around like that. He would make idle jokes regarding his own ability and whatnot in company he felt comfortable in. Granted, he could have been a bit more tasteful about it, but it wasn't meant with any malice. He was trying to lighten the mood. Oh you'll never find anyone as good as me--- back of hand on forehead, drapes self across chaise kind of idiot joke. And he bases some of it off of experience. Has he seen some dressed in clothing I'll suited for them simply because they wanted it? Yes. Does he want that for his clients? No. He would rather offer truth and work something out that balances both aspects than just fork over whatever for the money. For Vaux, it isn't about the money. It's how one feels, how one looks, how one is conveyed.

Is he a perfect character? No he's not. He does make mistakes and he does ultimately regret missteps - but he leads his his heart most of the time and that is how he prefers to be. He would rather comfortable clients who get everything they possibly can out of the experience than an idle and soulless exchange.

Ultimately, in this scenario specifically, Vaux reached out to Dion because he felt that there was a possibility it would be acknowledged, at least. When it's denied, he accepts the fact. The same with using proper honorifics. Granted, Vaux was erring on the side of being more comfortable around the Prince, and the privacy of their fitting situations, and thought more relaxed language was available.

He had judged wrongly and, truthfully, finding himself told of such did throw him back somewhat. He does panic, socially, when he cannot cling to that persona. The poor choice of attempted light-hearted joke was rather the final nail in the coffin. Did he mess up? Absolutely. He accepts that. Did he intend offense? No he didn't. He read the situation wrong. One cannot be perfect every time - yes, even Vaux can't get it always right.

On the flip side, he's had high nobility appreciate his openness and truth and lack of stiffness because they're sick of the falsities. So it's always a rick Vaux has to take.
