Miwi eating grass. There’s not a single thought behind those eyes.
There was a poll at some point about whether or not Mike and Will would show each other cool rocks or eat grass, and I was like, it’s both. Not 100% sure who made this poll and I don’t want to tag the wrong person, so if you made it, thank you for the prompt !

I’ve been a lot on Tumblr lately. This post is for me.
Israel is committing a genocide in Gaza. Over the last couple months, I’ve come to believe that the Israeli government is exterminating Palestinians on purpose, because they want Palestine to no longer exist. They want both Gaza and the West Bank to be Israel.
I’m not sure Israel wants this because, after the October attack by Hamas, the government wants to make absolutely sure something like that never happens again, or if they have wanted to get rid of Palestine for the last few decades, and are using Hamas as an excuse. Or something in the middle.
But it’s clear they are committing a genocide for their own end. It is clear that the Israeli government cares little, if any, about Palestinian lives. And it is clear that they will do nearly anything to control the news that comes out of Gaza. That they are willing to tell lies and kill journalists in order to keep that control. And none of that is acceptable. I think the state of Israel should be dismantled.
But there has been something on my mind.
In the above paragraphs, I talked about the Israeli government, and not it’s people, because that’s more comfortable to me. I dislike authority, and government. I think people are generally, inherently good. So if an army occupies a city, killing hundreds, that’s the governments fault for making that decision. And if the Israeli population goes along with it, then that’s because they’ve been lied to. Or mislead. Or brainwashed. Or suppressed.
But I’ve seen interviews with Israeli people on the street saying that they think what the army is doing is good. I’ve heard stories of them celebrating the deaths of Palestinians. Maybe the population of Israel knows what’s happening in Gaza. Maybe the majority of the Israel population is in favor of a genocide.
One tactic the Israeli government and media use, is that they label any criticism of Israel as antisemitism. It’s a smart tactic. No-one wants to be antisemitic. Anti-antisemitism caused the holocaust, which is like, the bad thing.
And so. You should specifically criticize the Israeli government. The Israeli government is doing a genocide. But not because they’re Jewish, but because they’re settlers. Israel needs to be stopped. The fact that they’re Jewish is insignificant.
And it’s important that you don't turn that criticism towards Israel into criticisms about Judaism in general. Judaism didn’t cause this genocide. Jewish people are not to blame. The Israeli government is to blame.
But what if... Israeli Jewish citizens are also to blame?
If most Jews in Israel are in favor of the genocide, and the government listens to what they want, then these Jews are at the very least complicit in the genocide, right? That doesn’t mean that I wish any harm onto them, it just means that like. I lay the blame with them. This is their fault. They have blood on their hands.
The reason why I’m writing this is because of a post I saw. Specifically this one.
It’s about how 95% of Jewish Israelis are pro-genocide. A writer named Zachary Foster made a Twitter post about it, and a Tumblr user named shashiatnight added that this genocide is “not just the work of Netanyahu but the culmination of the hope and work of every Zionist and their ancestors”. She ended the post by saying “Death to all of you.” It was eventually reblogged by a blog we follow.
It made me uncomfortable. I don't wish death upon them. And I feel like 'every Zionist and their ancestors' is too vague of a group. I read some replies and notes, and I wasn’t the only one who felt uncomfortable, which made me feel a bit better. Still, it got me thinking. Should I blame the Israeli Jewish citizens who believe the genocide is justified?
One thing I noticed is that the post didn’t share a link. So I tried to find out where the figure came from.
There is a program called The Peace Index. It’s a group that runs monthly polls on the population of Israel. Often around the question of the likelihood of peace. They choose the people not completely at random, but search out many different people from many different backgrounds in order to create a representative national sample of the adult population.
In the poll the Tumblr post was about, about January 2024, found here, they had 502 Jewish respondents and 103 Arab respondents (in Israel). Enough in my opinion to say something, but not necessarily completely representative. A few interesting results:
- 26.7% of Jewish respondents were in favor of peace, and 9.0% thinks it will happen.
- 74.8% of Arab respondents were in favor of peace, and 51.5% thinks it will happen.
- When asked to predict what the other group would answer to the first question, the Arab respondents correctly predicted that the Jewish respondents would not be in favor of peace. The Jewish respondents incorrectly predicted that the Arab respondents would not be in favor of peace.
- 38.4% of Jewish respondents were in favor of annexation of the occupied territories by Israel. (compared to 7.7% of Arab respondents).
- 66.1% of Jewish respondents think the number of casualties on the Palestinian side have been ‘completely justified’ and 21.3% think they have been ‘relatively justified’. (Arab respondents responded with 5.8% and 6.8% respectively)
- 50.8% of Jewish respondents responded that the The Israel Defence Forces have used an appropriate use of force, and 43.4% responded that they used too little force. (Arab respondents responded with 20.4% and 3.9% respectively).
A few questions are still going through my mind after reading this. If ‘only’ 38.4% of Jewish respondents want to annex Palestine, but only 26.7% of Jewish respondents want peace, what do most Israeli Jews want the war to accomplish? I feel like I’m still missing things here. The Jewish respondents also seemed much more opinionated then the Arab respondents (the Arab respondents answered ‘Don’t know’ far more often). And… how is 'Arab' defined, exactly? Is this anyone living in Israel that is not Jewish?
But let’s put that aside from now. That last point in the poll, about 50.8% + 43.4% = 94.2% of Jewish respondents thinking that the Israeli army used either an appropriate amount or too little force, is the point that was shared online.
Zachary Foster took that point and made a Twitter post, saying “95% of Jewish Israelis are pro-genocide. Let that sink in.” And then that post got screen-capped and shared on Tumblr by shashiatnight.
Zachary Foster, wrote an article a few days later where he goes into more detail. One part that caught my attention is this:
Tumblr media
And this part at the end:
Tumblr media
The article argues that yes, Israeli Jews believe the propaganda from the Israeli government. That's why they're scared of Arabs and in favor of the war. But there is a deeper problem then that, where Israeli Jews believe Jewish lives to be much more valuable. Where killing hundreds of bad Palestinians is justified if it means saving one good Jew.
So... ok. Alright. I wanted to know why most Israeli Jews support the extermination of Palestinians. And it's because they value Jewish lives above anything else, and believe the Israeli propaganda about the army being a force of moral good.
I'm not sure what I'm supposed to take away from all of this, other then: Ethnostate = Very bad. Like. A nation that exists to protect one group of people above all others is very bad. Any nation that has it laws favor one group of people over the other is very bad.
A government of an ethnostate can convince its people a genocide is justified, because it's people already believe that some lives are more valuable then others. The only remedy for this is to make ethnostates not exist. Israel should never have been founded. And now that it exists, it should be dismantled. Or at least: It should treat members of all religions and ethnicities the same. A two-state solution isn't good enough.
I don't feel like my actual opinions have changed since the beginning of this post. But I've grown more confident in them. I feel more at peace.
I guess I was still doubting some things, about how exactly I want this conflict to resolve. Like... sure, I've donated a little bit of money for Gaza. But what do I actually want, beyond the end of this genocide?
I want no ethnostate, ever. I want Israel to either stop existing or change to such a degree where it no longer resembles an ethnostate.
Does that put me at odds with people saying "Palestine will be free from the river to the sea"? I don't think it does. I think if Israel would stop existing that would be a good outcome. It's just that I'm also fine with Israel changing into no longer being an ethnostate. Which... hmm... If Israel changed that radically, would it really be 'Israel' any more?
I think the phrase 'Free Palestine' it can be broad enough to encompass my feelings and opinions. I'll add it to our Tumblr and Discord bio from now on.

Masterpost
Previous / SAY THE NAME
Tumblr media
After you left the oldest trio to help The8 to accommodate himself, you went to the pool, talk with the other hybrids. At the way you could only think about the lecture everyone at the center would give you as soon as they heard about the total of 13 hybrids you just adopted. Oh gods, even the government representatives would certainly come to nag you…
Well… At least all of them came wanting to stay, even The8, so it’s not like they can be taken from you at this point… Praying so nothing bad happen with your new big family, you arrived at the pool, where 9 of your 13 worries were. You smiled at them while approaching with some towels they left on the chairs around the water.
“Oh, hi, Y/n!” Wonwoo came walking at you when the hybrids noticed your arrival. He wasn’t in the water, so he was dry. “Is Minghao at his room now?” He held your free hand. You just nodded, making he smile. “Great! So now we can start to prepare for dinner!” The feline screamed for the others at the end.
“Eh? I think it’s better if I go shower then. I’ll welcome him in our room.” Vernon got out of the pool, grabbing one towel from you, kissing your cheek and running inside.
“Yah! Don’t run!” You and Jihoon, who had just arrived at your side, screamed to the canine that was already long gone. You sighed while Jihoon started to direct the others, deciding who should go immediately to shower and who could wait or start doing things. You gave the towels to Mingyu, Seokmin, Seungkwan and Junhui.
As the bathrooms were all occupied now, since they didn’t liked to use yours, the dry ones, Wonwoo and Jihoon, started to get the Welcome barbecue ready to Mingyu and the others who really knew how to do it. The wet hybrids, Soonyoung and Chan, filled some balls to decorate the pool and you started to arrange the tables and utensils.
It took for the first boys to come back almost 30 minutes. You could tell that everyone was at the best clothes you had given them. When Junhui, Mingyu and Seungkwan came, they told you that the 95’line were taking a shower and Vernon was waiting for The8. They also told Hoshi to go take a bath since Dokyeom were almost finished too.
Chan stayed, waiting for one more bathroom to be free. The shark hybrid dried himself with a towel and started to make the playlist of the night. As Mingyu and Jihoon started with the barbecue, you also went to take your bath and groom yourself for the occasion. It didn’t took long as you didn’t really wanted to use a lot of stuff.
You went back outside with your hair up and a summer dress. When you arrived, all the boys were there already. The lights were already on and the music the maknae, who had also taken a quick shower, had chosen was already playing. You looked around and saw the boys had finished decorating the area. You couldn’t avoid a smile.
---
“Y/n!” A voice in the table’s direction called the human. She looked over and saw that sitting there were Seungcheol, who called, Joshua, Woozi, The8 and Wonwoo. The girl smiled at them and examined the other groups formed at the area. Jun, Seungkwan, Chan and Vernon were fooling around, dancing to the music and laughing. Mingyu, Jeonghan, Dokyeom and Hoshi were cooking and taking care of the barbecue.
The human girl couldn’t stop smiling. She absorbed the harmonious environment, finally understanding why she always felt that all these hybrids were destinate to find her… Her recent dreams made sense to her now as she looked at the boys… They were definitely stars, she could see how they were glowing already and all that potencial they had.
“Hey, guys!” Y/n screamed, taking her phone out and grabbing everyone’s attention. “How about our first photo before really getting to the food and all the dancing?” She smiled to the hybrids. Most of them got close to her quite fast, not hesitating for even a second. Others… Well, everyone had their own pace. But even The8 or the reserved older felines didn’t stay frozen for long.
“Ready?” The girl arranged the camera so everyone was in the frame. For that she had to be a little far from them, so her height didn’t interfere much on the photo. “1… 2… 3!” She smiled, as did most of the hybrids. Minghao didn’t but it did not ruined the picture. As soon as the human putted down the phone, several of the hybrids went to check on it.
“Oh! I look good!” Junhui laughed before handing the phone for others and going to play again.
“Dokyeom’s face!” The gag trio and Vernon laughed hard zooming in the puppy’s face. After everyone was satisfied with the picture, all the presents went back to their first completed family dinner. The group did this for all the hybrids that came before, as long as the human got time to do it. That’s why this barbecue was for the last quartet to join the house.
Everyone enjoyed the dinner very much. The first hybrids Y/n adopted made sure that no one was left alone for even a single moment, the younger ones were doing gags and entertaining everyone and the older ones were making sure that everyone’s plate were always full of food. All the group laughed and had fun until late at night. Even The most recluse ones gave some smiles and some laughters through the night.
The human didn’t have the stamina to stay too long with the hybrids, so near midnight, she went to sleep, letting the boys alone. That made hybrids that weren’t used to you yet relax and the group grew louder and wilder. No one was hurt and nothing was broken but… the boys all slept in the living room at the end and you just found out about it the next day, when you woke up early to prepare their surprise.
---
“Morning, morning!” You entered the house with a big package in your hands. You put your shoes in place and arrived at the living room with the package. The boys that were scattered around there greeted you. “Did you guys ate yet?” You smiled at them as you cleaned the coffee table to lay your package there.
“Jeonghan-hyung and Mingyu are finishing it now.” Junhui pulled you to his side, hugging you. “What is that, Y/n?” You rolled your eyes for his actions and laughed.
“Let’s eat first. Then I explain.” You could feel the curiosity on every hybrid’s eyes. But none of them asked again about the thing you brought. You all ate breakfast made by the cooking duo of the day and went back to the living room. You sat on the floor, in front of the square package and opened it.
“Wow!” You could hear several of them being impressed by what you revealed to them. It was a picture! The picture you had taken the day before actually. You had made it bigger and framed it. Smiling, you told them your idea.
“So… As this is the first picture of all of us, what do you guys think about signing your names and your aspirations? We will hang it somewhere where we can see it everyday and do our best to achieve it. What do you guys think?” You knew that it was a romantic idea but it was a great chance for you to know how to help each hybrid better.
The boys looked around to each other for a minute before Jun came to you and took the metallic pen you were offering him. He found a place near the frame and started to write. Soon all the others followed him, you being the last. You smiled as you wrote your message and Seungcheol helped you to hang it on the entrance hall. Now your family was truly completed.
---
The signs and messages:
JUNHUI - “I hope to help my new family to grow and to be happier. I hope me or anyone won’t ever need to leave our home.”
SOONYOUNG - “I will do my best so this house and everyone in it doesn’t suffer or feel down. I wish this happiness lasts forever.”
WONWOO - “I know I’m not the best but I promise to protect every single member of family with my life if needed!”
JIHOON - “I don’t understand why we’re doing this. But I understand that everyone here is important, so I’ll do my best to be nicer with them.”
SEOKMIN - “I want to show the gratitude I feel towards this new family. So my goal is to make everyone as happy as they can be.”
MINGYU - “I’ll do chores and do my best! My goal is to not break anything and to do my part in this house so life here becomes better and better!”
SEUNGKWAN - “As someone with less scars than the others, I’ll do what I can to help the heal… As long as they don’t piss me off :)”
VERNON - “I’ll do my best to not get in the way and to support everyone. That’s the only way I’ll can show them how I care.”
CHAN - “I’ll find a way to perform and help hybrids in need! For my and my new family’s pride!”
SEUNGCHEOL - “As the oldest… I strive to become someone the youngers can rely on and can be proud of. Fighting!”
JEONGHAN - “As I said before coming here: I ultimate goal is to protect my new cuties from any external harm.”
JISOO/JOSHUA - “I’m still figuring out myself. But I’ll do my best to not let my biggest fear separate me from the children.”
MINGHAO (Keep calling me The8, human) - “I’m here to help the biggest number of hybrids abused by humans possible. I’m not a house hybrid, but I don’t hate the new brothers.”
Y/N - “Besides doing my best in work, my goal for these boys is to give to them all the love and care they deserve.”

RATE THE EPISODE 98 Responses
Tumblr media
It would appear that the response to this week’s episode is even higher than last week’s, with 99% giving it a score of 3 or higher. Nice!
Amazing episode overall, it really gives you the feeling that something huge is about to happen
The best episode so far. Music was perfectly matched with animations.
Hype
i liked it!
This was an amazing episode and I can't wait to see what will happen next !
WHICH OF THE FOLLOWING MOMENTS WAS YOUR FAVORITE? 100 Responses
Tumblr media
The cliffhanger at the end of the episode was by and far the most favorite among viewers, with 56% stating it was their favorite moment from the episode. It is distantly followed by the festival scene in which Reiner sacrifices his money to spoil the kids. And at a distant third, people got a good laugh at the stairwell scene where Porco gets spooked by Pieck.
WOULD YOU SHAMELESSLY EXPLOIT REINER FINANCIALLY IF YOU HAD SUCH AN OPPORTUNITY? 99 Responses
Tumblr media
Looks like more than half (61.6%) of responders would agree to exploit Reiner financially (half of those without a hint of shame). Others would either consider it or reject the offer, in that order.
RIP Reiner's money
WHICH FOOD WOULD YOU WANT REINER TO BUY YOU? 99 Responses
Tumblr media
Pizza is the clear winner on this one (62.6%), followed by Desser at a distant second (25.3%). Just a little over 9% went for Sandwiches instead. The couple of other responders clearly cheated!
WHICH KID HAD THE CUTEST “BEGGING” EXPRESSION? 100 Responses
Tumblr media
Gabi went ahead and knocked out her competition for this tournament (gaining 64%). Guess she really is cute, as she says. Falco’s in distant second (29%), followed by Zofia (7%). Poor Udo has gotten no love.
NOW THAT WE’VE SEEN MORE OF THE NEW CAST, WE’LL ASK AGAIN. WHICH NEW CHARACTER IS YOUR FAVORITE? 99 Responses
Tumblr media
We’re back with this question, again. It would appear that Falco has won over the hearts of most responders, gaining 54.5%. Pieck the Enigmatic Cart Titan Shifter is in second place with a little over 25%. Gabi the Fiery Warrior cadet is in third place with 10.1%. Others gave their preference for Willy, Magath, Zofia and Udo in that order. Poor Porco has gotten no love!
Love zofia but my favs always disappointed me.
WHAT DO YOU THINK OF PIECK CRAWLING ON ALL FOURS BECAUSE IT FEELS “MORE NATURAL” FOR HER? 97 Responses
Tumblr media
When it comes to the scene of Pieck crawling on all fours, almost 60% seemed to think of it as either a cute or even a hot (you know what kind of hot) moment. On the flip side, almost 26% thought the scene was disturbing or simply sad. A few others either didn’t seem to care or thought the scene was funny.
Cute, but sad since she's adapted to being this tool for war of the Marleyans
fan service
Pieck got a dump truck

Y'ALL NEED TO TAKE A DEEP BREATH AND TOUCH SOME GRASS, YOU HORNY F*CKS
WILLY TELLS MAGATH THAT THE WARHAMMER TITAN IS PRESENT, BUT THAT MAGATH PROBABLY CAN’T GUESS WHICH MEMBER OF THE TYBUR FAMILY HOLDS IT. WHO WOULD BE YOUR GUESS? 100 Responses
Tumblr media
In retrospect, we should have included an option for those who have already been spoiled on the identity of the Warhammer titan, based on many of the responses we received. We’ve blacked out the pie chart to avoid spoiling anyone. But, in order from the first choice on the list to the last available choice, the following options were most favored: Willy, the old man, the old woman, the blonde mother, one of the children, the woman serving food, and one of the guards.
MAGATH AND WILLY TALK ABOUT MARLEY’S SELF-DESTRUCTIVE WAR HISTORY AND MAGATH NOTES THAT IT’S TOO LATE TO STOP IT. DO YOU AGREE WITH HIM? 98 Responses
Tumblr media
Most responses assert that Magath’s prediction will come true in the end and Marley’s downfall will be a result of its own conduct (little over 56%). Some others dissent, arguing that although Marley will probably fall, it will not be because of its own previous conduct. The rest either can’t say for sure, believe Willy’s plans will save the nation or simply don’t care.
WILLY TALKS A BIT ABOUT “HELOS,” THE GREAT HERO OF MARLEY WHO SUBDUED THE TITANS. HE SAYS THAT MARLEY NEEDS ANOTHER “HELOS.” WHO, IF ANY, OF OUR PROMINENT CAST MEMBERS DO YOU THINK THAT NEW HERO COULD BE? 96 Responses
Tumblr media
“I need a Hero! I’m holding out for a hero to the end of the-“, you get the point. Everybody needs a hero, right? It would appear that a quarter believe Eren could fit in as this metaphorical “Helos”. Almost 20% believe that none of them will fit this type of role. In third place we have our recently promoted Protagonist, Reiner Braun. Other popular options included Zeke, Levi and Falco, in that order. Gabi was written in for one response. Looks like we forgot to include her in our options. 😅
gabi... i feel very early seasons eren vibes from her
IN A SIMILAR VEIN, MAGATH CRITICIZES THE HELOS STATUE BY STATING THAT IT IS HOLLOW INSIDE. WHAT DO YOU THINK THIS MEANS? 98 Responses
Tumblr media
When critiquing the statue itself, Magath noted that it is hollow. In that vein, almost 38% believe that Marley’s defeat of the Titans in the Great Titan War is a hollow lie. Others (17.3%) believe the story will simply lack a hero in the end. Almost the same percentage (16.3%) think that Marley’s defeat of the Titans *was* genuine, but their subsequent conduct is anything but heroic. The rest either believe there is some thematic substance in that statement, but aren’t sure what it is or think that Magath is just a cynic.
WHAT IS THE TRUTH WILLY INTENDS TO REVEAL AT THE FESTIVAL? 97 Responses
Tumblr media
When it comes to discerning Willy’s plan at the festival, almost 65% were convinced he wants to reveal something about the history of Marley and Eldia. In distant second place (16.5%) we had folks believing Willy wants to reveal certain information about the Titans. The rest were either not sure or thought he wanted to reveal info about something else entirely.
the war
WHAT DO YOU THINK WILLY’S “SOLUTION” TO THE WORLD’S PROBLEMS MAY BE? 96 Responses
Tumblr media
We got a rather colorful pie chart for such a bleak question. The slight plurality (27.1%) believe Willy wants to obtain the coordinate in order to obtain the control of all Eldians, others (26%) believe he wants to commit genocide on Eldians living on Paradis island or perhaps wants to obtain the powers of all Nine Titans. The rest believe Lord Tybur either wants to commit genocide on all Eldians in the world or wants to make with the Ethnic group. A whole array of different opinions.
the war Genocide of Marlians
I don't really know lol
DO YOU THINK WILLY CAN CONVINCE THE PEOPLE TO GET ON BOARD WITH THE “SOLUTION” HE WILL REVEAL AT THE PLAY? 97 Responses
Tumblr media
When it comes to convincing the audience of the festival to support Willy’s plans, the overwhelming majority believe he’ll be successful, either in part (majority) or in whole (minority). The rather miniscule minority isn’t sure and even less people believe Willy will wholly fail.
I think Willy's speech may lead to a serious division throughout Marley between people that agree with his solution and people that don't
marleyans are a bunch of sheeps anyways so i don't think they will even question his "solution" as long as it's about getting rid of eldians
WE ARE INTRODUCED TO A WOMAN WHO GABI SAYS IS “AN EASTERNER FROM HIZURU,” WHO APPEARS TO BE SYMPATHETIC TOWARD THE ELDIANS. DO YOU THINK THAT THIS WOMAN WILL HAVE ANY IMPORTANCE IN FUTURE PLOT DEVELOPMENTS? 97 Responses
Tumblr media
When it comes to the “Easterner from Hizuru”, it would appear that a decent chunk of responses believe she’ll play some sort of role in the story later, either in relation to Mikasa (42.3%) or the Eldians (16.5%) as a whole. Others dissent and argue that she’s there to showcase people sympathetic to the Eldians in the world instead (24.7%). Finally, some are simply not sure (16.5%).
DO YOU THINK THERE IS ANY SIGNIFICANCE TO THE BASEBALL MITT? 97 Responses
Tumblr media
It would appear that Eren has a baseball mitt. Does it mean there is any significance to it? I don’t know. I’m just a ghost writing walls of text. Anyway, a plurality (42.3%) of those answering this question believe that there is (significance) and that it’s a hidden message from Eren’s “family”. Some others also believe in the importance of the mitt (22.7%), but aren’t sure of what it means exactly. Others take a middle position (21.6%) favoring a symbolic interpretation of the iteam. The rest simply have no idea.
From monkey boy and his perfect game ? Idk why tbh
Maybe alluding to Zeke, probably helps Eren where to channel his hatred
DO YOU THINK THAT EREN CAME TO MARLEY ALONE, OR WAS HE SENT THERE BY THE SURVEY CORPS TO FULFILL A ROLE? 96 Responses
Tumblr media
When it comes to the status of the SC and Eren in Marley, the definitive majority believe they are there with him (59.4%). Almost 22% think he is there alone and without the consent of the Corps. On the flip side, 14.6% believe he is there alone, but wholly with the Corps’ consent.
HOW DO YOU THINK REINER AND EREN’S CONVERSATION WILL GO? 95 Responses
Tumblr media
A rather interesting development exists in the prospect of another conversation between Eren and Reiner. Also interesting are the predictions for this question. Just a little over a third believe they’ll have a civil talk, in contrast to their talk from S2. A little under a third believe the conversation will not have any yelling, but will still be rather bitter. Others believe that they’ll either start fighting or engage in another shouting match. 9.5% are simply not sure.
Eren becomes attack titan probably
ON A SCALE OF 1-5, HOW MUCH WOULD YOU LIKE TO RETURN TO THE SURVEY CORPS/PARADIS RIGHT NOW? 97 Responses
Tumblr media
Finally, here is another recurring question. How much do you want to return to the SC/Paradis right now? A little over 50% are very eager, though a little under 50% state that they can afford to wait a bit.
Marley is kinda boring
ADDITIONAL THOUGHTS ON THE EPISODE?
I feel like the story hasn't moved that much or maybe there are just a lot of things that haven't been clarified yet. I did read some spoilers of the latest chapters but I can't seem to connect the latest episodes to the spoilers I have read.
Mainly gave it a 4 because I'm in the middle between superb quality of animation and my lack of interest in the Warriors, but added +1 because we are finally getting back to the SC crew!
Gabi is still annoying as hell, she's the effing worst
The build up is nice
I felt bad for Grandad Yeager, wish Eren could have patted his shoulder or something. Guess he's an asshole now. Would love to find out more about the baseball thing.
I can't wiat 2 weeks, i'm going to cry
The more they focus on Gabi, the more unlikable and unsympathetic she becomes. I really hope we don't have to deal with too much more of her after this arc.
It really felt like the calm before the storm. Very interesting episode. I just know something is going to happen during Tybur's speech and Eren's talk with Reiner. Can't wait!
Sucks to be Falco ig
Ughhhhh, just a fucking vibe of an episode. I'll say it.... I like Reiner now😌😌 yeh I know.  This episode made me love the warriors crew despite me not giving an f about them before. I hope porco is secretly in love with Reiner and explains why he hated him so much. Still waiting out for [redacted]’s new side part, hopefully we will see him soon. Well... till next week friends ~C
wait too long for next T-T

the most commonly mentioned ‘favorite thing’ was alex’s character development in s4.
the most commonly mentioned ‘least favorite thing’ was the schneider/avery relationship including the pregnancy, followed closely by s4′s lack of emotional depth, schneider’s previous arc being minimized, and the penelope/max relationship.
you can see all 43 anonymous answers behind this cut:
Idk
Alex
i think the problem is they’re starting conversations to then finish them too early. like i was really interested to see where they went with sydlena with elena going to college but then it was just taken back so quickly..
Fave: the show continues; also, Alex’s girlfriend. Least fave: the way Penelope and Max’s characters have been changed to make their relationship fit the new budget
The relapse in Penelope and Schneider’s friendship esp after how S3 showed SUCH growth. Not to mention, the lack of emotional depth. It’s just. Different.
Idk
.
Least favorite:Penelope and Max make no sense??? Explain the kids issue??? Also why is Avery pregnant.......I don’t like her character
they basically took away schneiders character arc
Don't have one
The demolishing of Schneider's characters growth is the most maddening thing
it doesn't have the same feel as the 1st 3 seasons.
My least favorite thing is how rushed some development is, particularly in relationships, to show that everything is fine, but also ignores the issues and struggles we were introduced to in previous seasons regarding characters. For example, Schneider and Avery are all in love and totally fine, but what happened to his addiction? How does he feel about being a father? How did they move past their breakup from when he relapsed? And with Penelope, while I loved that they showed that she could be happy with her family and still want romance, why Max again? How do they resolve the fact that he wants kids but she doesn't want more?
Penelope and Max's reunion was too rushed and Schneider and Avery's relationship is too rushed too
favorite~ alex being given some sort of storyline (the whole clothing thing and feeling insecure in the family) cuz he’s never given attention and then least favorite~ how schneider’s alcoholism has been completely sidelined and max and penny not discussing the whole kids thing. also how cuba wasn’t brought up until the mid season finale when s3 literally ended with that
My least favorite thing about season four is that it doesn’t feel like the first three seasons. I feel like the bonds that the characters have built over the years are breaking.
Schneider suddenly needing to have a baby with avery to have a family when he's been part of the alvarez fam the whole time :)))
i don’t like the lack of emotional stuff and the random bringing back old love interests without explanation
none of the characters feel like the same people or like they've regressed and lost character growth
max and avery least favorite :(
I don't like the fact that it feels like it has to explain a lot about older seasons, it feels a bit forced, but I also understand why it happens, if/when there's a season 5 I think I'm going to like it better than this season (same thing happened for me with seasons 1, 2 and 3, my favorite being the last)
Least favorite: I feel like we've lost Schneider's story. Between retconning aspects of his relationship with Avery (like them saying they've never broken up or that their first fight happened this season). It suddenly feels like he's not a member of the family like he was in S3.
The way they’ve completely regressed all the character arcs and storylines for a lot of the characters, especially Schneider
Character continuity seems to have been thrown out e.g. schneider has regressed a lot and there is no follow up on his s3 plotline
I really wish they could be longer - I do think the episodes need to be longer for storyline purposes. I think that’s why this season feels slightly different to me. Favourite thing is seeing Schneider and Avery be happy. They seem to be moving quick but it also seems to be working for them.
it used to make me FEEL. now it’s flat
That Max came back and he and Pen still haven't addressed the child-sized elephant in the room but that's okay because he's awesome /ends sarcasm. Also the baby pregancy storyline was WAY out of left field. Also what happened with Schneider's sobriety? Is he still going to meetings?
I'm happy Alex is getting good storylines and Elena and Syd are adorable but Schneider and Penelope's relationship with Avery and MaX IS TOO MUCH TOO SOON
Pen had worries about her date and ran immediately to her BFF to help her sort it out. YOU KNOW, THAT SEEMED PROMISING.
Just the overall lack of depth
Everything about Schneider/Avery has been handled extremely poorly imo
My least favourite thing is how they dismissed Schneider’s sobriety storyline
I loved the final live action episode that aired before the pandemic took over (ends on the roof garden not sure the number/title) but otherwise it's been feeling like it's skimming the surface of most serious issues that they used to tackle head on. Hoping this is just an adjustment period/growing pains but we'll see.
The baby storyline is way too rushed, and I really don't like it
Favorite: Alex taking sewing classes, least favorite: Avery/Schneider
Everythings too superficial
I hated that they didn't get to the end of season 3 Cuba reveal until episode 6, and that they've regressed Dr. B & Lydia's relationship again. Either put them together or make clear you never well, damn.
schneider/avery feels rushed and lacks emotional depth. At the end of season 3 they were broken up, barely a quarter into season 4 they've moved in together and are pregnant. It doesn't make sense. Avery is just a cartoon version of Schneider. They don't feel real.
Least favourite: The storylines aren't as deep/handled as seriously. I don't like what they have done with Schneider. I don't think they explored his relationship with Avery well enough for me to be invested in it. I also don't think now is the right time to explore them having a child.
We're halfway through the season and there has been no character growth for anyone. It's a typical sitcom. Every emotional arc has been abandoned or ignored. Why are we not seeing Schneider freak out about becoming a parent, considering his history? Why are Penelope and Schneider not as close as they once were?
The meta/4th wall joke from animated special about tv shows being animated & least them telling Schindler he’s not part of the family.. like wtf multiple times too. Also the dropping of storylines (Sobriety/Cuba) & the ex partners back and everyone is happy
Alex got some much needed character development, but they basically hamstringed Penelope and Schneider
The episodes are shorter and the comedy seems cheaper and easier, the jokes don’t have the depth they used to

(Y/n) was pacing back and forth muttering words of encouragement under her breath. Today was the day Bruce was finally doing the DNA test which everyone had been putting off. Just about everyone, including (Y/n), was gathered in the living room waiting for the results.  "Doll, will you please stop pacing" Bucky asked rubbing his forehead watching her pace was giving him a headache. "Sorry, I'm just really anxious. My feet can't stop moving"
Bucky looked to his right to see the girl sitting stiff fidgeting with her fingers. It looked as if (Y/n)'s anxiety was rubbing off on her. He could imagine where her thoughts were going.  "Come here" Bucky waved her over she took a seat in his lap "Why are you so anxious everything is going to be fine." "I guess I'm scared we'll do this blood test and find out she has parents who are alive and well and that they'll want her and they'll take her." (Y/n) said leaning back on his shoulder.  "You know the possibility of that happening is slim to none, right?" Natasha said  "yeah but my negative thoughts are trying to drown me. I really want to keep her" "You also know that she's right her. She might not have a name but she's still here" Clint said gesturing to the girl sitting next to him.  (Y/n) looked at her "HI" Little Miss smiled. Hearing (Y/n)'s reason for being anxious did put her a bit at ease.  "Results" Bruce said as he walked in waving the tablet over his head. With a squeal (Y/n) jumped up and ran over trying to take the tablet from him but he put it over her head refusing to give it to her.  "no, no. I'm reading them go away I'm reading them." "Then read them and stop messing around" (Y/n) demanded Steve came over and pulled her into his lap holding her down. "Alright, DNA results says that ….. James and (Y/n) Rogers-Barnes. You're both her parents."  The room fell into a few seconds of silence. Then (Y/n) jumped up with a squeal and hopped on Little Miss next to her bringing her into a tight suffocating hug. The young girl was startled hands awkwardly by her side as she looked around the room for help but everyone was just smiling and laughing as they watched the two. "I'm sorry" (Y/n) giggled a bit wiping away her tears as she let her go backing up " I just... we get to keep you-" "She's not a dog"  "We get to love you. I would have fought for you anyways I'm just happy I don't have to. This is wonderful. Oh we should throw a party. I'm going to make a cake. SOMEONE CALL PETER"  (Y/n) screamed as she jumped up rushing out of the room. Everyone just laughed at her she was to in her head to see it.  The young girl of the hour just looked around a bit confused she didn't really know what she would be doing now or where she would be going. Well, from (Y/n)'s reaction she gathered she wouldn't be leaving the tower any time soon. Everyone congratulated Steve and Bucky and told her they were happy to have her and to come to any of them if she needed help. After a while Bucky noticed how uncomfortable she was and volunteered to take her to her room which she had yet to have seen.  "(Y/n) has already decorated it. Color and set up wise you can add more if you want or change it. It's up to you." Bucky said awkwardly he didn't really know what else to say to her.  While as (y/n) was excited and overzealous with her and ready to be her mother despite everything Bucky, on the other hand, was a different story. Bucky was nervous and cautious. Nervous because this was happening really fast she wasn't a child or baby she was a teenager near full grown adult so there wasn't really a starting point to get comfortable or grow and get to know her and she came from Hydra he wasn't aware of what his relationship with her in Hydra was or if they even met or what Hydra had done to her, what she could do, or what could trigger her. And then he was cautious because once again she came from Hydra despite them saving her and letting her running away they didn't know everything about her and she could be a danger to them, it was yet to be determined. There was a fine line Bucky was standing on and he didn't know which side he was going to be on. " This is our room feel free to come to us whenever and right here is your room." They stopped in front of her door, across the hall and a little ways down from their door. on it was a yellow name panel shaped like a star but it was empty as they had no name for her yet and they didn't want to put her number up.  Bucky opened the door stepping in she slowly followed.  "Lock" Bucky turned around to she her messing with the door nob she apparently found the lock and was very interested in it.  "Yeah, your room, your space no one has to come in here if you don't want them to. You can lock the door whenever. Of course, if there is an emergency Friday can be used to unlock the door but if that ever happens she'll warn you before hand. I doubt that will ever happen." He said as he watched her mess with the lock for a few more seconds. She looked adorable messing with it like it was a new toy. She finally lost interest in just the lock and started looking around the room.  "(Y/n) said you picked blue"  The room was very simple. One wall across from the door made entirely of windows and three light blue walls. Her King size bed with light blue and white sheets and pillows and desk against one wall, Tv cross on the next wall, and her drawer on the wall next to the door. "Your closet is to the left of the tv and your bathroom to the right. All your hygiene products are in there, if there is anything else you need come to (Y/n) and I don't want to give Steve a heart attack. There isn't much in your closet now but I'm sure (Y/n) and Wanda will force some more online shopping upon you. It isn't that bed actually... I'll leave you to wonder and explore. Again if you need someone we're here" With that Bucky left the room shutting the door behind him leaving her to do as she pleased in her new room.  "How is she?" (Y/n) asked as he made his way into the kitchen Steve was sitting at the counter watching her bake away. Baking a cake had turned into baking anything sweet she could think of and Steve imagined that she would be running out of ingredients soon.  "Can't really say she doesn't talk much. I know she was very interested in her lock. I guess she didn't think we'd give her one."  "I can see why she'd think that" Steve said " we didn't sort of forbid her from leaving the infirmary when she was there."   "Well, we didn't really mean to forbid her we just didn't want her wondering around there getting hurt, getting lost, or stumbling upon something she shouldn't have like another patience. I talked to Tony she's free to move around the tower as she pleases" (Y/n) hands Steve a bowl and spoon to lick clean as she moved on to making the next thing. "Well, with Friday monitoring her moves I don't see the problem with her wondering. Plus she knows she isn't really going to wonder to far seeing as she only like You and Bruce so far." "She'll warm up to you guys... eventually. I'm just special."  she hummed and winked  "I think it's because she gives her food" Steve whispers licking his spoon. (Y/n) heard and flicked flour at him. " That's not true... I don't think? Either way she's with us now so we're going to take care of her. We're going to get her through this and we'll be family."

Brazilian Elections - Let’s talk about  Fernando Haddad
Alright, so. Elections this year and we’re in a big mess, right? The new plot twist to our ever changing political scenario is Fernando Haddad, who happens to be one of the only politicians I actually like, so i’m gonna use this post to talk about his work so y’all can get to know him better since he’s not that famous outside of São Paulo. First of all, for all of you who have no idea what i’m talking about, let me catch you up: Lula (our ex-president) is still, ya know, in jail. For corruption and stuff. We can debate that more thoroughly in another post. Problem is, he wants to run for president again (he wanted before he was arrested already), and technically by some legal standards he might, cause his sentence hasn’t really been contested in every possible court, which is to say that even though his chances of them being overthrown are VERY small, it could still happen and therefore there’s a legal breach there that could allow him to run for president. And bOY is he popular at it - he was leading all the polls around the country these past few months, he was at the lead with nearly 40% of the votes at the last poll (published on the 21st/august). But there has been a debate for months now on whether he’d appoint someone else as a candidate in his place in case the most likely thing happens and he can’t run... And we kinda got the answer a few weeks ago - he didn’t appoint someone else, but he picked his vice president: Haddad, from his own party. Which is to say, in case he is barred from running, Haddad will likely be taking his place. [in the very surprising scenario where Lula DOES run Haddad would not be vice president anymore cause they have a deal with another party and then Manuela D’avila, another ex-candidate for the presidency gets the job cause she’s now supporting Haddad as kinda vice-vice president but that’s a whole other matter). So let’s talk about Fernando Haddad.
Quick background: Haddad is the son of a Lebanese immigrant and graduated in law school (and is a certified lawyer). He's also got a masters degree in economy and a doctorate in philosophy, all at USP, which is like, one of the best universities in Latin america. He’s also a teacher there in Social Sciences and currently a teacher at another private university. In public office, he has been the Minister for Education for 6 years of Lula’s government and Mayor to Brazil’s biggest city, São Paulo, from 2013 to 2016. I’m not saying you need any of those titles to be any good at the job (I mean, just look at Lula I guess) but we sure have to say Haddad came prepared for the fight talking about ground knowledge.
As the Minister for Education Haddad invested mostly in making the access to universities broader - it was his government that created ProUni (a program that provides government scholarships to poor students in private universities), and re-designed FIES (the financing and credit system for poor students to pay for universities) making it easier for people to pay (less interest rates, more time). During his time we also got 14 new public (free) universities and other kinds of educational centers making the number of available spots go from about 140K to 218K. He was also responsible for reformulating ENEM so that it could start to become a sort of brazilian SAT, now accepted as an entrance test to several universities that all had different tests (and you had to take all of them and pay for all of them if you wanted to apply to multiple places). When he started, Brazil invested about 3,9% of our GDP in education. At the end of his run, we were investing 5,1%. The PISA results showed Brazil among the 3 countries that had evolved the most in education during those years (yeah, we were still pretty low on the rank, but we can’t say it wasn’t working). So education is quite his thing, but that’s not all.
As a Mayor, Haddad had a clear vision for the city that involved making it more livable - his slogan said “more human”. The ideia is based on studies that say once the citizens have a sense of personal relationship with the place they inhabit the whole area starts to become safer (and also better taken care of, obviously). And that seems obvious but São Paulo had some MAJOR problems of livability.
Imma list some of my favorite projects. For starters, Haddad changed the lightning of a big part of the city to LED lamps (they’re way brighter so the sense of safety is enhanced cause no dark alleys and stuff AND they’re more efficient so we also started saving energy) [x]. Then he created bike lanes and more bus corridors to make public transport faster and so that people could actually use BIKES in the damn city without too many risks (the number of people who use bikes here grew over 60% in a couple of years, who could have guessed it [x]). He then reduced the speed limits for several streets and speed lanes. That was MASSIVELY impopular, but he said he didn’t care if people hated him as long as it worked in the long run - and, lol, it did. With all of that he reduced accidents and deaths on traffic in the city by 15% overall and by half in specific areas [x] [x], and most interestingly: São Paulo dropped over fifty fucking places on international traffic ranks (which is over 10 times what ANY other brazilian city varied in the ranks those years so there’s no blaming it on any external factors) [x] . Yeah, Haddad started to solve traffic, which is arguably the thing everyone hates the most in this city. People spending less time in traffic start spending more time at leisure - no matter, he closed important avenues on Sundays so that people could use that space, public space, for fun, and anybody who’s been at Paulista on a Sunday nowadays will have seen how damn awesome that place became. He also regulated and stimulated Carnaval as a street party that is now country-famous (do y’all remember how nearly nobody ever considered spending Carnaval in São Paulo a cool thing before 2012? yeah. and people come to the city now just for that and spend a whole lot of money here cause of it [x]). Then he created our very first fucking city tour program with buses and all (man, biggest city in the country and we didn’t have a city tour bus for tourists, what the fuck). He did the first actual Floods Tackling project that involved actually mapping the floods and acting directly on them with more cleaning of the streets and even smart-monitored sewers and trash cans at some places [x]. He created LGBT support centers and was responsible for putting the São Paulo Pride Parade (one of the biggest in the world) on the official government calendars (and as minister for education he was responsible for trying to implement an anti-homophobia program involving educating and orienting teachers to deal with these situations) [x] . He tackled the drug problem (especially the crack-cocaine problem) downtown by offering support (food, housing, medical and psychological assistance, and actual jobs) to addicts - a lot of people were against “giving money to drug addicts”, but again, it worked, and I have a whole post about this here. He created a program to stimulate recycling food at the big open markets and to ensure that organic food was served in the local schools every week. He helped open several tech centers that allowed for people to take tech and coding courses and use 3D printers and other stuff for free or at low prices [x]. Still want more culture? He created public cinemas at poor areas (that showed all kinds of movies, local ones, international ones, all in theaters as good as the paid kind) and created a whole institution to stimulate film making in São Paulo, SPCINE [x] [x]. Oh, and he started a project to take the names of our previous dictators and torturers off the street names (cause yeah we had that) and replace them with, well, decent people [x].
Not enough to have some cool ass projects? K, we can discuss his economy as mayor. Cause not only Haddad was innovative as fuck as said above, he also made the city’s finances as good as ever - and I mean it, cause he renegotiated our historical debts to the federal government and reviewed several contracts to companies AND created an agency to investigate corruption scandals regaining several millions into our vaults [x] [x], in a way that by the end of his government we had over 40 billion less in debt [x], 2-3 billion in store and had our investment rate (you know the thing that Brazil kept being lowered at? by international agencies? those grades and stuff?] raised. Oh yeah, and he got like 95% of what he promised in his campaign done [x].
And I said all of this so I can exemplify why I like Haddad - it’s not about one or two individual projects, it’s about the way he thinks as a whole. He thinks ahead and he thinks based on actual science - without forgetting a human side of it all. All of his unpopular and polemic measures had positive results - they went miles away from common sense, but it didn’t matter for him cause scientific studies had showed it would work (and it did! what a fucking surprise!). Of couse, that made him the most hated mayor by some people cause all he does is just so weird, right? and he never cared, multiple times he mentioned he didn’t mind being unpopular if it was the right thing for the city. And he was in fact unpopular cause of that (and cause of his party, obviously). He left office leaving contracts signed for about 7 years ahead. He didn’t even have high hopes of being reelected by then, but he left stuff ready to work for the next government (likely an opposition one) anyway. Cause that’s what you do if you’re a decent politician, but it’s so damn rare to see this kind of attitude here. Haddad looked at cold hard facts, saw a city that could use a lot of change in several areas, made a plan and went ahead with it knowing that a lot of people would hate him for it but that in the end it could actively change how we live - and he was right. By the end of it, people did have a different relationship with the city.
Haddad showed me in both his public offices that he doesn’t have the small mind of most our politicians that seem to only be able to think about things that can happen every 4 years, nor only about things that will be popular for the sake of being popular without being right. And that’s just what I want from a politician. Seems so simple, and yet it’s nearly impossible to find. So that’s why he’s a politician i’m not afraid to support.
To close this off i’m gonna leave y’all with links to articles from the Wall Street Journal and The New York Times (portuguese here) and The Wire complimenting his time as mayor too so english readers can get some more opinions AND here an Haddad article (in portuguese) that I like if you want to see more of him (especially his views of Brazilian politics), cause this doesn’t even cover all his interesting projects.  Here’s also an interview with him in english, and here here and here some in portuguese for people who want to get a better sense of him and his government plan. Feel free to ask more questions about his projects, I’ll try to get to them when I have time.

9x13: TTD Clues
Okay, so I said yesterday that TTD yielded some good stuff, and it did. This won’t be terribly long, but it’s very exciting.
Tumblr media
We often get interesting details from the quiz questions because tptb often put questions in that emphasize details they want us to know, that we don’t necessarily pick up simply from watching the episode. That was definitely true of this past week.
One quiz question asked what was NOT in Connie’s emergency stash of supplies in the building they went into. The answer was flashlights. Of course lights and flashlights = Beth. We even had her majorly associated with a flashlight in Still. While there are a lot of parallels between her and Connie, there are also a few anti-parallels, so I’m kinda thinking no flashlights = no Beth.
Tumblr media
The second question was better, though. It was merely some dialogue the Highwaymen used when they came to rescue Tara’s group, so that wasn’t anything huge. But after that, there was a quote from tptb saying that when they cast the leader of the Highwaymen, they were looking for a “pirate Santa Clause whose eyes are dangerous.”
That’s REALLY jumping out at us for a few reasons. First, because it’s kind of an odd description for this actor. Yeah, he’s got a beard, but I don’t think many people look at him and think Santa Clause. They might if his beard was white, but it’s not. Plenty of men on TWD have had full beards (Rick anyone?) and with the exception of Hershel, who specifically did have a white beard, none of them were really thought of as Santa Clause types.
Tumblr media
But there’s another reason that’s leaping out at us. Do you now what it is yet? Remember Daryl’s “I Nevers” in Still. Most of them have since come true in some way on the show (Details HERE). And one of them was “I ain’t never got nothing from Santa Clause.” Because of the St. Nicholas/Pickle stories, where St. Nicholas resurrects 3 dead people, we’ve always assumed that the thing Daryl would get from Santa Clause would be Beth coming back to him.
Now tptb are calling this dude Santa Clause.
Tumblr media
We already know from spoilers that we’ll probably see some snow at the end of the season, so there already might be a Christmas-type theme going on. And then there’s the fact that I mentioned yesterday that this dude wears a sheriff-type hat. So this is already promising. If “Santa” gives Daryl Beth for Christmas, I’m thinking this guy will be the one to tell him where she is.
And for the record, it doesn’t negate anything else we’ve thought about her coming through Negan or the Whisperers in some way. I still think her arc will be very entwined with both, but something about this guy and his Santa-ness will play into it too.
Tumblr media
We can also read into the pirate theme (because “pirate Santa Clause”). Pirates suggest water and ship themes, and we’ve obviously seen a lot of those types of symbols around Beth as well.
Finally, did you notice in the same note above, his name is Ozzie? As in...the Wizard of Oz(zie)? If he actually represents the character of Oz, then he’s the one who knows how to get Beth--I mean Dorothy--home to her family. Just saying.
Oh, but that is not all concerning the Highwaymen. That is not all.
One of the behind-the-scenes notes, they said the note the Highwaymen sent to Carol and Ezekiel really did have a list of demands on it. It wasn’t just a blank sheet of paper or anything. (Again, they had to tell us this because we didn’t actually see what was written on the note in the episode.) Some of the things they said they wanted were “40 paperback books – fiction – no romance novels.” Um…ROMANCE NOVELS!!!
Tumblr media
So yet another tie to Beth. And, if we’re being honest, also more evidence that Carzekiel has a similar arc coming soon. We’re not sure what the 40 represents. Someone in my group suggested it points back to S4, where the original “damn romance novel” line was heard, courtesy of Daryl. I also think it could be a biblical number. In the bible, 40 is a number showing a period of intense trials. The Children of Israel wandered in the wildness for 40 years. Christ was temped in the wilderness for 40 days, etc. So yeah. Pretty cool.
The final, major thing that happened on TTD is that they did ask Lauren Ridloff (who plays Connie) about all the talk of Daryl and Connie. She started out by joking about a shower scene between the two. I’m sure that encouraged some of the shippers, but you have to understand the context.
Tumblr media
1. She said it with a huge grin on her face, but then said, “No, but seriously…” and then continued with the next part of what she said. Which means by definition, she wasn’t being serious about the shower scene.
2. This is at least the third time I can remember someone mentioning a shower scene when it comes to Daryl or Daryl’s love life. I can’t remember exactly which seasons or episodes it happened on, but it was always on TD. I want to say maybe the season finale of S7, but I’m not positive. And another time, maybe in conjunction with the idea of Daryl and Jesus. Every time, it was just a joke. It obviously didn’t happen those other times, and it won’t happen now with Connie either. It’s almost because their go-to line when talking about a possible love interest for Daryl.
But more importantly is what came after the “No, but seriously…” Lauren pretty much shut down the idea of Connie and Daryl, at least for the time being. She said the relationship is more like Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.
Feel free to look up the reference for more details if you aren’t familiar. It’s an American western about two outlaws who are best friends and partners in crime.
(Btw, the outlaw theme is huge right now on the show; we’ve been discussing it a lot in my group lately. Obviously the highwaymen are part of the outlaw theme. This reference by Lauren is too.)
Now, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance kid were both straight men, so obviously there was no romance there, which is part of what Lauren was trying to convey, I think. But more than that, the relationship is very much a sympatico, kumbaya type. Like they’re always of like minds and can practically read each other’s thoughts and will always have one another’s backs. That’s how Lauren is describing Daryl and Connie’s relationship, which I think is pretty accurate to what we’ve seen.
Could it change in the future? Technically, sure, but we know TWD plans WAY far ahead so they can foreshadow things, and we haven’t seen anything at all that foreshadows romance between these two.
Tumblr media
I do want to mention that they did a poll asking who shipped Daryl and Connie and it ended up being 80% of those who took the poll. On the one hand, you could argue that those who took the poll aren’t representative of the entire fandom, but I don’t actually think it’s a problem for TD even if it do. Because I don’t think 80% are hardcore shippers specifically of Daryl with Connie. I think it shows that most people just genuinely want Daryl to have a love interest and to find happiness (which is sweet).
And I honestly think that number would rise higher, to 90% or 95%, if it’s Beth, because there’s ALREADY a history established there that people ALREADY shipped several seasons past.
Okay, I think that’s it for TTD. Exciting stuff! ;D

Moving to Da Nang Part 4
Finding a motorbike
By this point you may be seeing a trend in my settling stories. Namely, I want to get something, I have trouble finding it, I eventually get it, there are problems, I solve them, but in the end, there are residual issues, yet to be figured out. I’m guessing you’re expecting me to say the next one is different. Well, good guess. But, I’m sorry. You’re wrong. BUYING A MOTORBIKE was essentially the same. That’s quite the twist on a lack of twist, now, isn’t it?!
As you can recall from posts #4 through #53, and #65 through #112, having a motorbike in Vietnam is both an absolute requirement, just like you’re required to cheers everybody at the table every time you want to take a sip of your beverage, just like rehydration is required after a day of sweating in 95% humidity, or the requirement of extra sugar in every dessert, drink or even dish (all true). Yes, you must have these things, just as you must have a bike. Now, a functioning bike, well that’s another story. The number of bikes on the road that awe you in their lack of proximity to even come close to being functional is astounding. Breaking down and getting pushed by another bike is a common occurrence, and having a bike that is one speed bump away from having every piece just falling off and drifting away into the abyss of traffic is totally normal. That said, this is not what I wanted. My one requirement (well, aside from looking really cool in my particular chosen style) was a bike that I could trust to start and take me where I wanted to go. Seem fair? I think so.
So, when I had moved on from my hotel, and was settled in my home, it was time for a bike. Now, Saigon is the place to get a bike. There are a number of types of options, great prices and expats/locals all eager to push their semi-functioning two-wheeler onto you. Hanoi is not a bad place to buy bikes either, but Da Nang lacked in viable options. As a result, I only found a few for sale within my price range and that were aesthetically acceptable. I test drove about 4 of these.
Bike 1: We called up a bike dealer whose address we found on the internet. He had a bike for us. It was a redone brown/white bike that had a cool look to it, a nice rack on the back, and enough room for two on the seat. What was not part of the cool look was the big oil stain on the top, nor the hanging wires and missing screws. I just figured that a dealer might want to fix up these simple things before a test drive. Apparently not. Of course it didn’t start for the first 20 minutes, but when it finally did, well, it was a fun little ride. I just insisted to dealer-man that I needed all the little things fixed before I could even consider it.
Bike 2: Guess what dealer-man knew of another mechanic-dude who might have something for me! Cool. We followed him to the new guy, and he had just the bike. The exact same kind that I had had before. My main issue with this one was that I wanted something different. It, too, was fun to ride, though I feel like it was always pulling me left when I drove it. As though it was some kind of socialist bike, always pulling (polling?) left. I decided to keep looking.
Bike 3: Some guy online had a nice bike that he had redone/dipped entirely in black paint. I don’t know where he got the vat of black paint, or how he managed to hold it up to dip it, but I’m sure that’s what had been done. Seat and all. Buddy-guy took a morning off work to meet us in some random place and let me drive it. It was way too low for me, and every little bump in the road (meaning, every quarter-inch of pavement, or so) made me feel like I was in a bouncy-castle. So, since I was not looking for a low rider or a trampoline, we passed, much to his off-day chagrin.
Bike 4: This one was out of my price range, but we took a look anyways. Some student-guy was selling it because it wasn’t practical for commuting, and he needed a different kind of bike. But, it was gorgeous. I took it for a test drive, just for 100 metres and back. But…unbelievably it started right away, didn’t shake or rattle (though it did roll). It was a winner, at a price too high.
Bike 5: Well, this is actually bike 1 again, after it had been fixed (*cough, cough, “fixed”). Dealer-man is in the business of renting bikes out for road trips, and he had rented this one out to somebody, saying it would be back on Tuesday at 5. So, when Wednesday at 7 rolled around, we finally tracked him and the bike down. I took it for a test drive, and it only stalled 4 or 5 times after the required 20 minute warm up period. After the drive I told guy that maybe I didn’t want a bike that I had to wait 20 minutes to use, or that may or may not get me to my destination. Maybe that’s me being picky, and not enjoying the surprises that life offers, but that’s just how I am. When I tried to explain that his bike just wasn’t reliable enough for me, he didn’t quite believe me. He told me to hop on while he drove, thinking I was just doing it wrong. Well, after the bouncy, rattling, stall-filled ride was over I thought I had proved my point. I said “see, I just can’t rely on a bike like that”. His response? “What do you mean, I thought everything on our drive was great.” Seems we had different standards.
In the end I decided it was worth it to pay for a reliable bike and I took bike 4 out again, and we felt a connection, the two of us. I bargained student-guy down and there we were. My bike and I, ready for some day-tripping and uncomfortable/impractical commutes. Great!
Unfortunately the story doesn’t end there (I know, you wished it did, too. But, you’ve read this far, so stick with it, okay?). A week or two later I noticed a small sputter in my bike, and I wanted to get it dealt with, since, after all this bike I was going to keep up on. Without launching into a mechanic-related diatribe, let’s just say…well…you ought to avoid all mechanics because you’ll just come away with something worse.
The next time Hà (my girlfriend – keep up!) came to visit, I utilized her translation skills to go to a good mechanic. Now, she doesn’t particularly see mechanics in the same light as me. Fair enough, but I showed her the sputter, and she did agree that there was a problem with the bike. Well, when we got to the mechanics, I knew right away these two guys were trouble. Not the mechanics for me. Hà did not see it, but it was my bike, so after they said there was no issue, and accused me of driving the bike wrong, we decided to move on. Well, guess what…as soon as we drove away, my bike did something it hadn’t done up until that point. It stalled. On the way out of the mechanics. It was almost as though it was throwing a tantrum at me for taking it to those two morons. This was the first instance where I was able to show Hà why I mistrust mechanics here.
Fortunately, I was able to troubleshoot some issues without having to bring it back to the two mechanics. The next day the clutch cable busted. Another new issue. I brought it to a different mechanic nearby, and he repaired it. It blew again the next day. This time I had it replaced. Then the gears weren’t working, and so I took it to a guy I had read good reviews about online. He worked on the sputter by cleaning the carborator. Two days later I had to have the carborator replaced after stalling and pushing my bike for 1.5 km in the 35 degree weather. I got that dealt with, and it sputters a bit less, but it still backfires loud like a shotgun and frequently like a decision to eat random street-meat in a Hanoi alley. The backfire came from the second-to-last mechanic. I will thank him personally next time I see him. So, now all of my issues are fixed. Well, all but two (did I mention I have no horn now?). The main problem with all of this is that the reason I took it in was for one small issue, and the problems I had fixed were created by the mechanics themselves. Now I understand why people don’t spend a lot for a ‘reliable’ bike, nor do they fix their issues. It’s just easier to drive it until all the pieces fall off, and that way you don’t have to fix those parts!
All this said, the Ox and I (bike name…) are still on good terms, don’t worry. Once I simply obtain my mechanic’s ticket, I can solve all her issues myself, and all will be well. Should happen soon.
(*Update, it turns out that the hair-knot of electrical wires on my bike that were tampered with to cause my defunct horn also affected my signals. All this time I have been driving with no signals. Sounds like a biggie, and yes, I’d prefer signals, but it’s not as bad as you think. Most people just leave them on all the time anyways, which can be very confusing when a person has the right flasher on while turning left. Fortunately, Vietnamese people have developed a method of letting people know when they intend to turn. They just wave their hand in an almost “upside-down come-here” motion int the direction they plan to go. It’s quite efficient, and until somebody comes up with a better method of letting people know when you plan to turn, I’m sure it will stick. Somebody should invent a light-signal or something...)

Western Illinois, Year 29, 2035-2036
Tumblr media
The Leathernecks shoot for back-to-back national titles in our College Hoops 2K8 simulated series.
Welcome back to our simulated dynasty with the Western Illinois Leathernecks in College Hoops 2K8. You can find a full explanation of this project + spoiler-free links to previous seasons here. Check out the introduction to this series from early April for full context. As a reminder, we simulate every game in this series and only control the recruiting and coaching strategies.
Before we pick up with the Leathernecks at the start of Year 29, here’s a recap of everything that happened last season:
The Leathernecks returned four starters from an Elite Eight team the previous year. We were unranked in the preseason polls but started the new campaign rated as a 97 overall.
We had an impressive non-conference season, but lost another game during Summit League play, our third conference loss in the last two years after a long undefeated streak. After winning the conference tournament, we were given a No. 7 seed heading into March Madness.
We beat Michigan in the first round, defeated Xavier in the second round, beat Duke in the Sweet 16, defeated Indiana in the Elite Eight, beat Ole Miss in the Final Four, and took out Clemson in the national championship game to win our seventh national championship in program history.
We recruited for three scholarships and landed two players: No. 9 center prospect Vinnie Harmon and No. 92 overall small forward Spanky Fanning.
Here’s a look at our roster as we begin Year 29:
Tumblr media
We only lost two players from our last year’s national championship team: superstar small forward Nic Cummings (the highest rated player in program history at 97 overall) and guard Goran Kent. Everyone else is back. While our stacked front court should again serve as the foundation of the team, I’m also excited to see what our new tandem of starting wings can do.
Let’s meet the starters:
PG Duncan Martinez, 89 overall, redshirt junior: Martinez is the highest-rated three-point shooter in program history, entering the season with a 92 rating from behind the arc. He’s not the most polished ball handler or passer, but it sure feels nice knowing we have a knockdown shooter on the perimeter. He had a solid but unspectacular debut as a starter last season, but we feel like he could be in a for a big year as a junior. Former No. 69 overall recruit out of Chicago with C potential.
SG Sammy Yan, 89 overall, true junior: Yan is the highest rated recruit in program history as the former No. 10 prospect in his class, but he’s been decidedly average in his first two years coming off the bench. Let’s see if he’s more comfortable in the starting lineup. Yan is an elite finisher, a mediocre three-point shooter, a great defensive rebounder, and a solid ball handler and passer. He’ll have to prove himself come tournament time. Bay Area native with B- potential.
SF Warren Schultz, 88 overall, redshirt junior: I’m super excited about Schultz finally getting an opportunity to be a starter as a junior. Coming off a strong tournament run as a reserve, Schultz gives us a 6’9 wing with elite shooting ability (89 three-point rating). He’s also one of the best dunkers we’ve ever had with a 95 rating. Former No. 107 overall recruit from Jacksonville with C potential.
PF C.J. Cesar, 93 overall, redshirt senior: Cesar dominated the paint on both ends of the floor during our run to the national championship last season. A converted center, Cesar doesn’t give us much shooting at the four but he’s as reliable as they came as a rebounder, interior scorer, and shot blocker. He can out-muscle pretty much any opponent with a 95 rating in strength. Former No. 9 center recruit out of Cincinnati with B- potential. Projected lottery pick pick.
C Elvin King, 90 overall, true junior: Both King and senior Daron Coulter are starting the year at 90 overall, which is a great problem to have. We’re going with King as the starter for two reasons: a) he has a higher potential rating (B grade) and will likely end the season as the superior player, b) Coulter has greater positional versatility because of his impressive outside shooting, which makes him more valuable off the bench. King was the former No. 2 center recruit in the country and was super impressive in last year’s tournament run. Feels like he could be an all-timer with a big season. Projected top pick in the draft.
We’re bringing the 7’3 Coulter off the bench as sixth man, where he’ll be flanked by three redshirt freshmen: power forward Mitch Hunter, Kiwi shooting guard Dave French, and 5’10 point guard Rashaun Diggs. Center Thom Towe, who might be the most impressive redshirt freshman of the bunch, will only play mop up duty on the bench just because we already have so much front court depth.
We are also redshirting both of our true freshmen. Center Vinnie Harmon and small forward Spanky Fanning — yes, that’s his real name — are each rated as a 74 overall with B- potential.
Recruiting
We have three scholarships to recruit for this season. We want two guards and a power forward. We decide to offer the following players:
SG Rodrigo Milton, No. 42 overall and No. 13 at his position
PG Deon Bro, No. 39 overall and No. 19 at his position
PF Kody Douby, No. 56 overall and No. 3 at his position
Are we swinging for the fences a little bit? Yeah, but if we land even one of them it should be a dope class because there are some quality backup options on the board.
We also have a character to create from the winner of our bracket contest, reader Tim. Here’s what he hit me with:
Ay yo Coach, long time reader, first time Bracket Challenge Winner.
This game loves bigs, and the world needs DEKE VAN JR. now more than ever.
How about 7’ tall to honor our 7th Title? A Center like his father. And his father’s father (probably).
Seattle, WA after his pops lead the new SuperSonics to a few titles.
Those who have been following the series since the beginning will remember Deke Van as the senior leader on our first ever national title team in Year 8. This is everything I ever wanted out of a created character.
We’re ranked No. 10 in the preseason polls to begin the new year. Let’s go!
Regular season
This ended up as our strongest regular season in a long time. We stayed in the top-25 for the majority of the year and only had three losses before conference play. We lost a rivalry game to Illinois, fell to a Stanford team that was ranked No. 3 in the polls at the time, and lost to unranked Arizona.
Other than that, we cleaned up. Our best wins were beating No. 4 UCLA and winning a rivalry game against DePaul. If we can go undefeated in Summit season again and win the conference tournament, we’re likely going to get a great seed.
Summit League play
Can we go 18-0 in league play? Yes we can.
Along the way, I pick up career win No. 800. That earns us our first coaching point in like 15 years. We’re entering the Summit League tournament at 24-3 overall, ranked No. 23 in the polls. Can we add three more wins in the Summit League tournament to lock in the automatic bid?
Yes we can. We’re going to the NCAA tournament once again at 27-3 overall. Outstanding year so far. Before we sim to Selection Sunday, let’s check out the end of season stats:
Tumblr media
The decision to start King could not have gone any better. He joins an elite group of ‘Necks to have 20 points per game, and he did it in only his third year on campus. As far as pure talents go, he’s clearly the best on the team and might be one of our best ever. I also love how Coulter gravitated towards his sixth man role to finish second on the team in scoring. I really thought Schultz and Martinez would level up this year, which didn’t really happen.
Good thing we all know legends are made in March.
How did recruiting go?
We targeted three top-60 prospects during the in-season recruiting period. Guess what? We didn’t land any of them. Fortunately, we are poised to land one prospect on the first day of the spring signing period:
SG 6’5 Scott Doornekamp, No. 111 overall and No. 22 at his position
We also have offers out to 6’5 point guard Randolph Pompey (rated No. 138 overall) and 6’7 power forward Ernesto Mack (No. 104 overall, No. 8 at his position). We’ll have to outlast high-major programs to get either of them after this season ends.
We also have some news on our created recruit for the year, Deke Van Jr.
Tumblr media
The Deke legacy continues at South Florida. We’re super excited to see how he develops. As always, we create a recruit every year for the winner of the bracket contest, but don’t offer them at Western Illinois to maintain the integrity of the sim.
Time for Selection Sunday. What seed will we end up with?
2036 NCAA tournament
We enter the tournament as a No. 7 seed. Our opponent in the first round is No. 10 Arizona State. The Sun Devils are rated as a 94 overall. We’re rated as a 100 overall.
Here’s a look at our roster heading into the tournament:
Tumblr media
This team is going to have to win in the front court. King, Cesar, and Coulter are all true centers with elite size/strength combinations that should be a matchup nightmare for whoever we play. I’d love to see Yan finally live up to his recruiting ranking. This is also a huge opportunity for Schultz and Martinez to join the pantheon of the great Leathernecks at their position.
The start of our tournament run is here. As a reminder, we’re watching a simulated game — I’m not controlling the Leathernecks.
Let’s go!

Win, 97-70. Blew ‘em out to start the second half and it was a wrap from there.
Really promising start to this tournament run from Schultz. We love a big wing who can shoot and Schultz — at 6’9, 228 pounds — certainly fits the bill. He’s a pure shooter who has all the tools to go on a Wilky Henry-like run through March.
I also like what Rashaun Diggs showed on the bench. He’s so tiny at 5’10 and like 160 pounds, but he’s tracking to be one of the better shooters we’ve had. Good to see him knock down a couple triples.
The win sets up a matchup with No. 2 seed BYU in the round of 32
BYU is rated as a 94 overall. This is a talented roster that could give us some trouble.
A Sweet 16 berth is on the line. Let’s go!

Win, 84-77! We’re going to the Sweet 16!
Oh my, that was close. BYU had the lead with under seven minutes left in the second half when I decided to make some manual subs. We went with the jumbo package: King at center, Cesar at the four, and 7’3 marksman Daron Coulter at small forward. It paid off in a big way:
twitch_clip
Coulter added another bucket late to finish with 11 points. King added 17 points and 13 rebounds for good measure. Our front court is coming to play right now. I also love what I saw out of our redshirt junior point guard Duncan Martinez, who finished with 17 points, seven assists, and four steals. He’s more of a bucket getter than a pure point, but we’ll take all the buckets we can get right now.
The win sets up a matchup with Seton Hall in the Sweet 16
We’re in the Sweet 16. Can this charmed tournament run continue?
Tumblr media
Win, 118-78! We ran them off the floor from the opening tip. We had a 23 point lead going into halftime and kept running up the score from there.
We’re onto the Elite Eight!
The win sets up a game against Xavier in the Elite Eight
Xavier has been a powerhouse throughout this sim. We’ve seen them so many times in big games. Add another one to the list.
Final Four trip on the line. Let’s go!
Tumblr media
Win, 105-92. Now back in the Final Four!
Great balance throughout the starting lineup in this one. The redshirt juniors Martinez and Schultz carried us from the perimeter, each scoring 21 points. How about the redshirt freshmen Mitch Hunter (6’9 power forward) and Dave French (6’4 two guard) each hitting double-figures in scoring off the bench? We were in control pretty much the entire way.
I never thought we’d be back on college basketball’s biggest stage after losing a superstar like Nic Cummings to graduation, but here we are.
Western Illinois vs. West Virginia, Final Four, 2036 NCAA tournament
The Mountaineers are rated as a 99 overall. They’re the highest rated team we’ve faced on this tournament run so far. WVU is a No. 2 seed, we’re a No. 7 seed.
National championship No. 8 is within sight, but we need a win this game to have a chance at it. Let’s go!

Loss, 112-110 in overtime. I think that’s the wildest game in program history.
We were down 10 points with 10 minutes left. We were down 16 points with just over six minutes left. We were down 20 with 3:45 left! That’s when we turned up the defensive pressure and started getting steal after steal to stake our comeback.
Things started getting real weird once the clock ticked under two minutes. Just watch this sequence:
twitch_clip
Halfcourt alley-oop and-one followed immediately by a steal for a bucket? I was shaking. We still had some work to do to send this one to overtime.
It happened on the weirdest play possible.
twitch_clip
“WHAT!!!!!!” — me watching that live. Holy cow, still can’t believe that happened.
West Virginia would miss a shot at the end of regulation and we headed to OT. After an ending like that, we have to win, right? Obviously not. WVU cut through our defense like it wasn’t even there, and we couldn’t hit enough shots to keep up.
What a game, and what a way to lose. 20-point comeback in three and half minutes and we still drop it in overtime. Ugh.
The dream of another national title is deferred to next year. Let’s get to the offseason.
Offseason
West Virginia wins the national championship over Wisconsin
Elvin King wins conference player of the year
King leaves for the draft as a true junior. He’s the third player in program history to stay only three years. Coulter and Cesar also got drafted. Our front court is going to look totally different next year.
We put our coaching point into discipline, which is now a B+. Just please don’t call me Ricky Discipline.
We lose an assistant coach, and replace him with someone with an A teaching rating, B scouting rating, and C ratings in offense and defense.
I get offered a bunch of jobs at bigger schools and turn them down.
Recruiting
Doornekamp commits on day one. He didn’t play AAU so we don’t have much data on him, but he’s a 6’5 shooting guard ranked No. 111 overall. I’m thinking he’ll be able to play both wing spots and (hopefully) give us more shooting true freshman Spanky Fanning provides.
Two more scholarships left to recruit for. We’ve had offers out to Ernesto Mack and Randolph Pompey. We end up landing them both:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pompey (No. 134 overall) enters the program as a 6’5 point guard, but should have the size to play all three perimeter positions if he grows another inch or two while he’s in school. I’m also hoping for a growth spurt out of the 6’7 Mack (No. 104 overall), who showed nice shot-blocking ability and is ranked No. 8 at his position.
Solid three-man class. Probably not a superstar in the mix, but each should be a foundational piece for us moving forward.
Now it’s time to set our schedule for next year.
This is what we’re going with:
Vs. Northwestern, @ Notre Dame, @ DePaul, Great Alaskan Shootout, vs. Valpo, vs. UIC, @ Washington State, @ South Florida, @ Marquette
Year 30
Here’s a first look at our roster:
Tumblr media
One thing you’ll notice about this roster: we swapped the position of our guards. Martinez is moving from point to shooting guard, where he goes up two points to 96 overall. The program record for overall rating is Nic Cummings at 97 overall — will D-Mart match it or surpass in-season? We’re moving Yan to the point in his place because we think it’s a better fit for his skillset despite lowering his overall rating two points. Yan is a really solid ball handler and passer, and has never been a takeover scorer. We’re thinking Martinez will get more scoring opportunities on the wing.
Here’s where our true freshmen came in:
SG Scott Doorenkamp: 77 overall with C+ potential
PF Ernesto Mack, 76 overall with C potential
PG Randolph Pompey, 76 overall with D potential
All three players have already grown an inch. Doornekamp and Pompey are now 6’6 while Mack is 6’8.
The next stream will be Monday, Jan. 11 at 8 p.m. ET on Twitch. For email updates to this series, subscribe here.

SnK Chapter 95 Poll Results
The chapter 95 poll closed with 1,069 responses. Thank you to everyone for participating. Let’s do this!
RATE THE CHAPTER (1,019 Responses)
Tumblr media
75% of respondents had a  favorable reaction for “Liars”. Less than 1% expressed extreme dissatisfaction.
I actually loved this chapter! I was kinda meh on the Marley arc at first, but this completely changed my feelings on it!! Seeing everything from the Warriors' perspective is a refreshing change of pace.
Bertolt is the God of Destruction, RBA deserved better, Magath is actually a nice guy, poor Porco has a terrible name and deserves more love
This is the first chapter in the Marley arc I've wholeheartedly enjoyed. I was always looking forward to getting the Warriors' perspective, but the way in which it's been done has been terrible pacing wise, if definitely interesting story-wise; consequently I've had mixed feelings about the recent chapters. But this one managed to really make me feel for the characters and their tragic, terrible circumstances for the first time in awhile.
Good chapter in terms of lore although kinda meh in terms of story development
I liked the chapter, and the Marley thing we are going through, but I would still like to return to the walls
Not the strongest chapter, feels the same kind of "recap-y" that 63 did, but still a solid outing. I'm convinced we're staying in Marley as the main location for the final arc of the series, with the main cast's appearance kicking events into overdrive.
IN A RECENT INTERVIEW, ISAYAMA REFERRED TO MARLEY AS AN “ARC”, NOT A VOLUME. WOULD YOU BE HAPPY IF THE MARLEY PERSPECTIVE CONTINUES FOR AN ENTIRE 16 CHAPTERS? (1,046 Responses)
Tumblr media
We are a fandom divided.
I feel guilty about complaining too much but I really am bitter that I have to wait another month to potentially be disappointed again
I'm kinda concerned where the series is going‚ it seems like Isayama's taking it slow as he's running out of time
As much as i am loving all of this marley pov i do crave for just...idk something else. Like don't get me wrong i love finally getting more explorations of Reiner but it would be better to have some variation: like what about bertholht, why is he a warrior?? and annie; is her dad still around?
I can see why Isayama's doing this, but it feels v e r y  s l o w.
I can't believe I'm saying this but I kinda miss eren.
HOW MANY MORE CHAPTERS FROM THE MARLEY PERSPECTIVE WOULD YOU WANT TO SEE? (1,043 Responses)
Tumblr media
48.6% would like to see the Marley Files end in 1-3 months. 25.8% of the fandom is much more flexible. Judging from the write in comment, trust in Isayama is still high.
I would be happy if Marley took over the whole manga
I want the main cast to reappear, but to see them from the Marley perspective
I would've like to get back to the Walldians by now, but I think I'm good for another chapter or two of the Warriors.
I'd like the perspective to switch between marley and paradis
Depends if Pieck is often seen.
Looking forward to seeing the fall of Shinganshina from the warriors perspective
I'm starting to think Isayama will troll so hard. Marley Arc to the bitter end. Sasuga Isayama.
If this means we're going to remain in Marley for a while, I hope we'll at least get to see something exciting soon, like maybe at the festival. So far we've been getting more information than action, so I'd like to return to that action soon. I also can't wait to learn more about the Tyber family and meet the members.
WHICH STATEMENT MOST CLOSELY MATCHES YOUR FEELINGS FOR THE MARLEY CHAPTERS AS A WHOLE? (1,044 Responses)
Tumblr media
Nearly everyone who responded has enjoyed the Marley focus. 39% would be happy with a little more, while 31% liked it but are ready to return to the main cast.
On the negative side, 3.4% said that while it was necessary they didn’t enjoy it. Only .4% said it ruined their enjoyment of the series.
I like the Marleyan perspective, honestly if the rest of the series was like this (with a few chapters focused on the main cast of course) I think that would be great!
I felt the Marley perspective was necessary but I was bored most of the time. And now I'm just desperate to head back to the main cast.
I enjoyed the Marley perspective and I'm fine with more of it but something has to happen because I'm starting to get bored
This series has just been a series of peaks (Piecks?!) and whenever I think that it's surely gotten as good as it can get, they surprise me. The 30 day wait is hellish lately, more so than ever before.
HOW BADLY DO YOU WANT TO RETURN TO THE ORIGINAL CAST ON PARADIS? (1,040 Responses)
Tumblr media
While the previous questions have shown we are patient people, a solid 50% would sell their soul, or at least consider it, for a return to the original cast.
Lemme see the main cast again, but keep the best girl
I would still love to know if Jean has grown some ill-adviced facial hair, but I also love the Marley chapters.
I at least want a glimpse of the Walldians post-time skip!  I especially want to see Colossal Armin and if amputee-kun is Eren! I'm okay with a couple more chapters in Marley since I trust Isayama that this part of the story will be important (plus the characters are interesting and I enjoy seeing RBA flashbacks), but I just miss the old crew and want to see what they've been up to the past few years!
I feel like in all honesty, I enjoy the Marley perspective but I'd like to see how our 104th cast is doing. I'd really hate for them to do the same thing to Reiner and Co and recreate Shiganshina.
BOI I want to see the original squad again PLEASE
I love the Marley Arc!
Wake me up when the main casts return
WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE MOMENT OF THE CHAPTER? (1,038 Responses)
Tumblr media
Judging from the write in comments, Pieck is the best girl. 33% of us had a favorite moment that involved her. Seeing the Paradis mission from the perspective of the warriors and the reveal of the Tyber family had 17% and 18% respectively.
tag yourself im zeke being super enthusiastic over pieck
Boooring... except for sasuga pieck.  That part made me laugh.
Zeke's subtle way of warning everyone that the room is bugged, and Pieck and Reiner immediatly understanding.
I was excited to learn about the 9th titan, the Tybar family and Zeke praising Pieck. Very heart-broken for Reiner though.
Tired of seeing Marcel get eaten. Its a little repetatitive
HOW MUCH WORSE CAN REINER’S LIFE GET... FROM THE NEW CHAPTERS, WHICH OF THESE IS THE MOST TERRIBLE MOMENT FOR HIM? (1,032 Responses)
Tumblr media
Each new event of Reiner's life is like beating a piñata of misery. Everything is terrible and the sadness candy just keeps spilling out. When the piñata is done, they beat Reiner with the bat instead.
Learning of Marcel's lie, immediately followed by Marcel's death, giving him no chance for closure or resolution
Tough one.. but i say his mom's pressure & the conflict of seeing pradise ppl as normal human being & still having to kill them.
I want some form of lasting happiness for Reiner Braun
#ProtectReiner854
Reiner seems to have inherited Ymir's real titan power: the Complex and Depressing Backstory Titan
I would like everyone to hug the shit out of Reigner.
Being Reiner is suffering. Seeing his face the page after his own father refused to acknowledge him as human broke something inside of me. Also Galliard is still a dick but I'm disliking him less.
NEW CHARACTERS MEAN NEW SHIPS. HAVE ANY CAUGHT YOUR INTEREST? (1,040 Responses)
Tumblr media
Someone please remind me to never give “Other” as an option for a shipping question :/  I do, however, appreciate that almost 60% of you would like Reiner to have a bit of happiness.
Annie x freedom from her crystal, Pieck x being exactly right, porco x death,  Isayama x vague hints, Zeke x tea, Everyone x Happiness (except them motherfucking Marleyans) and my personal notp, Zevi, were a few of the many write in answers.
WHAT IS THE MOST INTERESTING NEW REVELATION FROM THE CHAPTER? (1,034 Responses)
Tumblr media
Last month learning the identity of the 9th titan was high on everyone’s wish this. This month we got it. 52.5% were most happy to learn about Warhammer.
At least we know the 9th titan. Just a decent chapter, Not my favorite of this arc though.
Really enjoyed this chapter, did not expect a mention of the ninth Titan. The montage of the Warriors was really awesome too.
Tybur family's new plot introduction is very intersting! I still think zakrus in pradise is shady as hell.. maybe he'll play a role in pradise fall.. pradise cant be too unified. Marley is not unified either.
I'm so excited to see more of the Tyber family. Their brief scene is drawn in an epic and mysterious fashion - symbols of seashells, flowing robes, a man with a clenched fist and correspondingly flowing golden locks standing before a crowd. I expect them to play a pivotal role in whatever comes.
MAGATH IS SO FAR THE ONLY MARLEYAN WHO HAS ACKNOWLEDGED THE WARRIORS AS HUMANS. HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT HIM? (1,027 Responses)
Tumblr media
Magath is perfectly meh. About 50% of us place him in the dead center between “tiniest gold star ever” and “swell guy.”
Magath is on the Eldians team. He loves and cares about all the Warriors, is possible he loves them as his children...I thought it was cute how he asked them to finish their mission and come home together! Hes like a tsundere "I-Its not like i care about you eldian demons!"
FAVORITE CHARACTER THUS FAR IN THIS ARC? (1,043 Responses)
Tumblr media
Reiner wins by a landslide. I think it comes as no surprise to anyone that Pieck has a solid showing with 17%. Zeke came in 3rd with 9.3%
Zeke's unique & bizzarre nature.. immense cruelty + cleverness + immature nature + bizzare obession of games, playing & his twisted concept of fun! This guy is a very interesting mixture indeed.
Pieck is a great new character.
Tbh the series is kind of getting boring but Pieck is Bae
Reiner has become my absolute favorite character in the series.
LEAST FAVORITE CHARACTER THUS FAR IN THIS ARC? (1,029 Responses)
Tumblr media
Reiner’s dad edged out his mom for least favorite character, but the real news is that 24% of people hate Gabi and Porco even more than Reiner’s  terrible parents.
Can i just pick both of Reiner's parents?
Reiners father and mother are both trash i'm taking him away i'm his mother now.
Asshole marley soldier who made bomb noises @ the disabled soldiers
Karina Braun doesn't deserve the hates she gets, she wasn't tricking Reiner...she legit believed ths they would live with his father one day, she really loves him and you see her pain filled face when Reiner lies and says "It was hell"
I like Porkboi more than I'd like to admit.
If I was the Colossal Titan I would find Reiner's father and flip him what would literally be the biggest middle finger ever.
Can't stand Porco. Won't ever forgive him for Ymir. Won't ever forgive Reiner or Bert for Ymir either tbh
HAS THIS CHAPTER CHANGED YOUR FEELINGS TOWARDS THE WARRIORS (1,023 Responses)
Tumblr media
51.2% say yes!
I'm far more sympathetic to them than before, especially Reiner. That poor boy only wanted to have his family together.
Last chapter changed my views about them.
Not much - this is pretty much how I though things would be once we found out about the ghetto and Marley. The only really interesting bits are the new pieces of info, like the Tybur family and the 9th titan.
I've gone from 100% love to 110% love
I feel that this "arc" is being dragged on for the purpose of readers gaining sympathy with them and for me last volume was enough to make us sympathize with them. I have no patience left for this especially when I know the end is closing and there is more to cover and I’m afraid it'll be rushed or that I would lose interest before we reach that part
I feel invested in Porco against my better judgment... and I wonder...if there will ever be a moment when Pieck is not exactly right as expected... :o I wanna see Bertholt's past!!!!!!

The Winners: Reiner  - 840 people view him more favorably Pieck  - 708 people view her more favorably
The Losers: Gabi  - 151 people view her less favorably Porco  - 161 people view him less favorably
I love RBA. Zeke is interesting as ever. Falco looks like he'll probably end up being a character I'll end up really liking, but he's not there yet. Don't really care about Pieck currently. Hate Gabi and Galliard.
Pieck is love
I wish we'd met Pieck earlier because she's everything.
porco the best
Bardlot is best girl

Looking back over past polls, support for the 104th has stayed consistent. The real change is with the vets. In early polls, 30-40% of people preferred them. That number has fallen to 12%. I suspect some have left the series or aren’t interested enough in the story direction to take the poll.

  FINAL THOUGHTS
There were more than 500 additional write in comments. I wish I could publish them all. Thank you for sharing all your thoughts!
I'm still not over the serumbowl and how much the paradis cast showed they're really no better than the ones they're fighting against, so I'm really happy to see the side that's been less favored by the narration so far. Bless the warriors, they're all full of personality and I already love them.
It was rlly heartbreaking when Marcel tells the truth to Reiner and he deludes himself saying: ""wtf are you talking about Marcel? I WAS CHOSEN BY MARLEY, i don't believe you"".The Armored Titan is the only thing hes got...
Next chapter is a recap of the old arcs with Warrior POV I can bet my seafood on it.
This and chapter 94 have been my favorites so far. Please give me more Reiner, more marley, more warriors, more everything. Isayama I love you.
LOVE THE WARRIORS! On a more serious note, im very curious about zeke and his true motives.. what is he trying to accomplish? I also really wish that his relationship with eren can be expanded on. Zeke told eren that he would save him. Does he to some degree care for eren's own life? Or is he just after eren's powers? Regardless, i find zeke fascinating.
Good but background could have been better incorporated with both sides
I'm loving the Marley arc. We need the other side of the coin and this really shows that evil can be grey. Neither the islanders or Marley-Eldians are really bad...they're just all raised/brain-washed in different settings. I really enjoy the added layers fo Reiner.
These few chapters have been really interesting, but I hope to see our guys back on Paradis, unless Amputee-kun turns out to be Eren and the other Survey Corps have infiltred Marley. Would love for the story to continue from that point of view, but with flashbacks as to what happened in Paradis. Really interesting chapters overall, learning about the 9 titans was really hype.
I hope that Isayama gives us an ending almost as great as ATLA. Each character gets a proper conclusion & the entire story is satisfying. I want AOT to go down as one of the top 10 solid anime/manga of all time. I have faith in Isayama but still the future is unpredictable.
I hope we get to see the attack on Wall Maria from the warriors pov next chapter. And I was disappointed that Amputee guy wasn't in this chapter.
More Marley please. Even if some are salty not to see the Walldians, I think it's very enlightening to see Marley and Warrior perspective on this. As would say Bertolt : "no one is at fault" and, in the same time, each side has their fault.
I've been rocking with this arc and loving it, although I've generally had little complaint with any arc of this series, I love everyone :) But I think some development for my favorite characters and their side of the war is backed up by some subtle set-up for the climax of it all. For all that some people are desperate to see the main cast, I think this kind of exploration is necessary, not just for emotional investment, but because it gives us a look at the world the Walldians are so desperate to get to. It shows that the battle is only just beginning; Marley is not the endgame boss, and in fact it might be the only thing standing in the way of total destruction for all Eldians. How do they deal with that? Seeing that from the Warriors' perspective gives it reality and weight.
I am enjoying the Marley perspective, but I'm having trouble with the pacing. These past 2 chapters are moving so slow. And even though Reiner is my favourite character, I wish we wouldn't have such a huge focus on him chapter after chapter. It's becoming a bit repetitive, and I would rather learn more about the other warriors. I am looking forward to seeing RBA's pov of the attack on Shiganshina however. :)
Shit's heatin' up! Woo!
I am such a fuckin' slut for all the Marley stuff. I have been dying to see everything from the Warriors' perspective since the initial reveal of Marley and honestly I live on the tears of everyone bitching about how there's too much Marley. EMA are pretty much...... the most boring characters in the series so I am livin' this up. Give me more.
MORE MEMES PLEASE (and a bit of main cast too)
can i see more bardlot creating titnas???? please answer this one question!!!!!!!
Waiting for Annie to come back. Any moment now.
It's a good chapter, I'm enjoying seeing the flashbacks and the distinction of the Titan powers. On a smaller note regarding that, I wish they'd tell us what makes the Female Titan "female."
Very good chapter, but it feels like one that's setting up for the rest of the volume. I'm looking forward to this festival as well as getting even more details about the warriors' mission on Paradis
Headbutt of Love copyright Isayama
A relatively good chapter, but I reallllllly want to see the main cast again. It doesn't have to be from their perspective, but I just want to see them again after a 4 year time skip.
We will most certainly  remain on Marley, but the perspective will soon shift to the main cast when the rest of them arrive to backup Eren and trash the festival in which the Tieber family will present the plan to capture the Founding Titan.
I can see why Reiner had all that plot armour now! Learning more about the warriors (RBA etc, not the new kids :/) has been really interesting and a much needed flesh out of their characters.
I enjoy seeing more of Reiner (cause he's da best) and learning more about his past and the world outside the walls. I would love to see him decide that he's done with Marley and doing things against his moral code (cause let's be real he probably is totally against this shitshow). I know he'll die and that makes me sad so I'm trying to enjoy whatever time we have left with him. ;_;
No doubt next chapter will show the Wall Maria breach from the Warriors' perspective. I only wonder how much of the flashback will be shown in a single chapter.
I hope we get more backstory on Zeke. There's still so much about him that's mysterious. More of him interacting with the other warriors is always good. I really really REALLY need to know what his thoughts on Eren are. Does he still plan on "saving" him, whatever that may mean? And how much does Pieck know?
When will we see giant naked people punch each other again?
I feel sorry for all the warriors but they killed so many people that I cannot see them as pure cinnamon rolls that need to be protected, for me they will always be morally grey.
I love that we are finally getting details about the warriors. This was something long in the making. I can understand where fans of the main cast are coming from, but you just have to have patience until we see the main cast again. For a story like Attack on Titan, which is supposed to be morally grey, we have to have insight on both sides of the conflict. It would have been extremely stupid if Isayama never delved into the warriors background after all the stuff that they had did. The timing of the switch may have been wrong, but I would rather have it now than not at all.
More Marley, but not at the expence of our heroes. It's Shingeki no Kyojin after all; not Yoroi no Kyojin
This arc has introduced the grey into the world of snk, I no longer see any one main character as bad or good because they all have the reasons with them, although perhaps some unjustifiable it still causes me to think about whether this person is a truly bad person or not. It really makes it quite difficult to favour or not favour people, however I do find that it makes it a lot more interesting.
I love these chapters, I really like the depth isayama is going for the viewers to know that this war isn't black and white and it really shines light on the complications of war and who really is the victims of not only war but also being the victims of a manipulative government.
I think this was a very powerful chapter, it had a lot of revelations and hints about the near future events. It is more clear than ever that the clash with the Paradis people is coming very soon. I am not sure how much more of RBA and Marcel heading towards the wall are we going to see though.
I can't shake the feeling that the "Tybur" family is connected to both the Tiber river (i.e. the fertile crescent--Garden of Eden imagery galore!) and Thor's hammer. Isayama likes to pull from both biblical sources and Norse sources for his world-building and I'm curious what's going on with this name.
this might have been my favorite marley chapter (which still isn't saying much but there you have it)
Seeing as I love the Walldians and Warriors equally, I think it's fair to give the Marely side attention. How can we have a dazzling final battle with no build up, including parallels and foreshadowing in this arc? Worse comes to worse I'm sure Isayama would just add the extra chapters he needed to in order to finish the story. Let's enjoy it while it's still being published.
Isayama is trying to make us think that there aren't good sides or bad sides. And he fails. We have already seen the perspective of Marley and they are clearly the villains. Not the Eldians of Paradis. The reasons why the mainland Eldians are supposed to hate Paradis Eldians are absurd. No real life social group/ethnicity is that stupid to believe what mainland Eldians believe. Or what they do to other Eldians.
As usual with every first chapter of an SnK Volume, this chapter was kind of boring, but we did learn about the ninth titan and the family thats been in possession of it. Also, seeing all 6 of Marley's titans on the battle field at once is interesting.
I think this volume will focus on the build-up to the reveal of Amputee-Kun in the present day, whilst also showing the road to Trost from RBA's perspective, which will be awesome
The perspective change felt rushed. I wish everything about the inital time-skip to the ocean had been handled differently. We got no closure whatsoever on so many important happenings and character developments re: serumbowl and basement, and that really frustrates me. The second - 3 year - just rubbed salt in the wound. I want to enjoy the Marley arc, I really do,  but this just frustrates me a lot.
Snk? More like Attack on Game of Thrones.
I really do like the perspective of the warriors and as interesting as it is, I just can't get myself attached to the characters, and that makes it tiresome for me. At the beginning I was hopeful, but so far the only Warriors I can relate to are Pieck and Falco and even that's a thin line. I am eager to see them interacting with the main cast though!
This chapter in particular was great. There's so much subtlety in every action and foreshadowing of things to come. We got a lot of interesting info (the Tybur family, 9th titan, shifter memories, TONS of Reiner background, and Porco feels ahhhhh), and also saw how the warriors are operating under the stress that Marley is putting upon them. I especially loved the Zeke's tea meeting. Zeke's aware that they're being monitored and is able to subtely warn the others, who all get it except Porco, and Reiner then saves him from saying something dissident about the Tybur family and possibly Marley. The interactions of the characters are wonderfully done, with a lot of side glances and small details to pick up on. I think Isayama's character development and world building abilities are shining so brightly in this arc. And I can't get enough of the warriors, new or old. Overall, this is swiftly becoming one of my favorite arcs so far. Also please Isayama, stop torturing Reiner, give the poor man a break ;-; My heart can't handle anymore....
Less flashback plz
I just want to find out if Amputee-kun is Eren that's all I freaking want Isa.
I don't want to spend the entire rest of this arc with Marley, but I think it would be cool to first be reintroduced to the main cast through the new character's eyes. Of course, then we'll need to see things from the main cast's perspective again and find out what they've been up to this whole time
Love the new memes. =P thanks pieck and zeke
to be honest, i expected the 9th titan's reveal to be more epic art-wise
I think I am now more on the side of the "Warriors" than the main cast on Paradis and this thinking of mine is keeping me awake at night. I hate Isayama for this because now his "there's not bad or good side in the story" statement hit me in the face. Also fuck I have the need to hug smol RBA and know finally seeing their backstory and situation withe all the hometown and warrior thing was all I was asking for so I am loving this Marley arc but at the same time I wanna see the main cast so badly.
I want to see amputee Kuns plan.
Poor baby Armin is the god of destruction no soft boy :(
I want to learn more of Bertolt's backstory... He's my fav next to Reiner and we know next to nothing on his backstory and motivations.
There won't be an invasion of the island. The islanders will invade, instead.
Knowing each titan's function is good. But I feel isayama could have used the page more efficiently, like not drawing large, single-panel images of titans. I feel it's kinda wasteful to use up your pages that way with not so dense information given out.
Confrontation between Warriors and SC will be super interesting but I'm kind of apprehensive about actually seeing it. It can easily turn into another serumbowl since we don't have clear enemies and everything is relative.
i feel isayama is just making some poor decisions in an attempt to make reiner more likable and while the new perspective is interesting it was introduced far too late in the game
I do find this arc interesting and I would be okay with it going for a lot longer, however I'd hope for a few chapters which go back to the 104th's in between those chapters, just a little show of where they're at during all this, I miss those guys, its been nearly half a year since we had a chapter with them. I love reiner yo he needs to be protected at all costs. But i do wanna know more about berholdt and his family. Please i need some closure on my tol boy.
I can't wait to see Historia again and see what role she will play throughout the rest of the series. To be honest, I'm concerned for her because now that she is publicly known as the queen now, Marley might try to capture her if they find out. And what will Reiner do if that happens? Ymir is no longer around to protect her so now it is his turn to owe something to Ymir. I wonder if Historia will ever meet Porco, I hope she kicks his ass, I will never forgive him for ending such a beautiful relationship.
No one is talking about this but the part where Magath says something about Zeke saying unnecessary things in the meeting has me very intrigued. I wanna know what he means, I'm overall very interested in the role Magath may play in the story. Looks like he is the only one suspecting Zeke at the moment. These chapters have been interesting and I'm in no hurry to get back to most of the main cast, but I would like to see Jean again soon. And Armin.
You know, this was a pretty boring chapter, all things considered. However, I did enjoy seeing Gabi look a bit more "human" for at least a couple of minutes and hope the Falco vs. Gabi bit isn't drawn out for too long (I feel it could get tiresome after a while). Reiner's father honestly surprised me; I didn't think we'd get to see him at all/that Reiner would even be aware of who he was, and yet...we got his perspective and I could not have been happier with what we got. Poor Reiner, but considering his scheming selfish mother (who may also be pretty delusional), it seems fitting.
Pieck and chubby cheeks baby Bertl are the only good things in this depressing arc
Reading Isayama's interview about wanting to change perspective to blur the line between hero and villain made this arc less jarring to me. However, I really want to go back to the main cast. Also, the basement reveal ironically made the series less epic in my eyes. Mainly because the idea of a war
AND FINALLY
As expected of poll-chan, excellent questions!
I enjoy these polls and i have nothing else to say
Come back Momtaku!

Spring 2017 survey results analysis!
Spreadsheet (I'm not sure if it's easier to read but I think it's getting prettier! In certain places, anyway) https://drive.google.com/open?id=0Bz1ZO5A480-5eW4wTlRMaE1DTU0 Perhaps easier to read here: http://stage48.net/forum/index.php?threads/seasonal-sakamichi-polls-spring-poll-closed-results-coming-soon.14672/page-7#post-1326979 Charts and photos of senbatsu: http://imgur.com/a/8M2zC Introduction
Survey series background. This survey was the 6th in a series of polls investigating the popularity of Sakamichi Series members among the international (specifically English speaking) fan community. In addition to measuring member popularity, this series also features some interesting questions about management styles and other aspects about the groups, many of which were requested by the community. The survey now spans over 1.5 years, including the entirety of Keyakizaka’s career.
Timing of the survey. This survey (Spring 2017) was conducted a little later than planned from late April through to early May, running for a total of two weeks. Since the last survey, Nogizaka have released their 17th single and Keyakizaka their 4th. Nogizaka’s 3rd generation have made their debut on Nogizaka Under Construction and their own show, Nogibingo 8 has begun. Hiragana have started making regular appearances on Keyaki tte, Kakenai? as well. Finally, we saw Watanabe Risa become Keyakizaka’s first exclusive model, a “scandal” featuring low tier popularity Nogizaka46 members Kawamura Mahiro and Wada Maaya, and far too many Nogizaka member photobooks to list.
Questions. The survey asked for your favourite members, who you want to see in centre, who you want to see in senbatsu, which two members you “ship”, which members you dislike, which group you prefer and which your oshimen is from, your predictions on future sales, and your opinions on a hypothetical 3rd Sakamichi group, Hirate Yurina’s centreship, Nogizaka choosing centres, and finally Nogizaka’s 3rd gen and Hiragana Keyaki in their respective senbatsu. Responses. This survey received 322 responses, making it the largest so far in the series. I was particularly interested in recruiting a large sample (rather than just my friends) so I could get a genuine feel for the international community and so that my own biases wouldn’t play too large a role. I’m happy many different people were willing to help spread the survey and find a diverse group of fans. Questions and Terminology All Favourites (AF). Choose all favourite members. Participants can select as many members as they like. Oshimen (OM). Choose number one favourite member (oshimen). Participants can only select one member. Centre Hopefuls(CH). Choose all members you would like to see take the centre position in the next few (I always suggest 3) singles. Overall (OA). A combination of the scores for AF and OM. Dislikes (DL). Choose all the members you “don’t really like”. Participants can choose as many as they like. This is the first time I asked for this.
Nogizaka popularity
Goddesses As with every survey so far, Ikuta Erika and Nishino Nanase remain in 1st and 2nd overall. Both have relatively fallen in terms of their percentage scores particularly Nishino, who is currently the closest she has been to being overtaken by 3rd since last Spring, with only 7 points between her and Saito Asuka. It’s Asuka’s first time in the top 3 and in fact for the first few days she was leading the poll and it seemed like she might end in 1st. She is mainly held back by her OM score, falling from 3rd to 6th in OM with a significant points loss this round. With a small points loss in AF, Shiraishi Mai fell one place to 3rd despite what appears to be booming popularity in Japan. Finally, ending the Goddess tier is Hori Miona. Hori had been engaging in what seemed like it would be an eternal struggle for 3rd place with Shiraishi but has remained at 5th and appears to have been replaced by Saito Asuka for this role. However, all is far from last. The points difference between Hori and Shiraishi is minimal, and Hori is still far ahead of the other members outside the tier. Demigoddesses and The Third Wind There is a large gap between Goddesses and Demigoddesses this round, partially responsible for this is the absence of Hashimoto Nanami (former 6th). The ranks were retroactively adjusted to account for Hashimoto’s absence (by reranking the group without her). Takayama Kazumi and Wakatsuki Yumi “remained” at 6th and 7th, with Takayama topping the Demi tier by a large margin. Despite a minor point drop Eto Misa managed to rise two places to 8th over taking former 8th and 9th Sakurai Reika and Ikoma Rina. 9th and 10th this round are new entries to the Demi tier. The “monster rookies” Yamashita Mizuki and Yoda Yuki. Yamashita almost doubled her score and jumped from 21st to 9th and Yoda came close to tripling hers, rising from 27th to 10th. Most of the 3rd gen have performed amazing this round, including Ozono Momoko (29th to 18th), Kubo Shiori (32rd to 19th), Iwamoto Renka (38th to 21st) and Ito Riria (37th to 23rd). While some 1st and 2nd gens made significant point gains, few could gain ranks, unable to push back against the third wind. Ito Marika (jumping from 20th to 17th, with her highest score yet) was the major exception, with Terada Ranze being the only member to gain a rank (up one to 15th). Nogizaka Senbatsu and Centre hopefuls This time the senbatsu selection was done a little different. Rather than choosing which senbatsu members to keep and which unders to promote it asked respondents to choose senbatsu members from each generation. Then two versions are made: (1) the top (average number of selected members) from the group regardless of what gen they’re from and (2) the top (average number of selected members from each generation’s question). The 2nd version is used if we want to take into consideration how many members fans want from each generation. This round you selected on average 18 members. Divided by gen that’s 11 first gens, 4 second gens and 3 third gens. Notable entries: Terada Ranze returns for her second senbatsu already, Watanabe makes her senbatsu debut and, even in version 1, Yamashita Mizuki enters senbatsu. In version 2, the additional entries are Ozono Momoko and Yoda Yuki, but Kubo Shiori is really close. Centre Hopefuls sees Ikuta Erika rank 1st for the 5th time in a row (I’ve only asked this question five times). As usual the gap between her and 2nd is very large, and widening. She is the only member to score above 35%, and is somewhere around 50% each round. Shiraishi Mai fell from 2nd for the first time ever, perhaps thanks to her return to (double) centre. She now sits at 4th behind Saito Asuka and Hori Miona. Hori has hovered between 3rd and 4th since the beginning but this was a big jump for Saito, who ranked 7th in Winter. She made a similar jump last Spring to 3rd, she then made her centre debut, are fans hoping for a return? The 3rd gens did surprisingly well in this question, too, with “ace” Yamashita Mizuki ranking 9th with 13% of respondents selecting her. Nogizaka Dislikes This time I added dislikes, risking a bit of controversy. I wasn’t sure myself if it would be worth the potential fallout, but looking at the results I wish I started doing it sooner. Not that I’m happy to see dislikes, but they made me curious. I wish I had asked this question before so I could see the dislikes as a trend, and know if x (scandal, etc.) increased the number of dislikes. To see these trends, I’m going to continue asking this question. It will always be optional, though (as all questions are) and I’ll make sure it stands out (like it does now) in the results. Matsumura Sayuri got the most dislikes in Nogizaka with 44, but only ranked 4th for likes as a percentage of overall (all favourites + oshimen votes). She was followed by Ikoma Rina (40 votes, 7th by percentage) and Akimoto Manatsu (38, 8th in %). Ranks 4~6 were the top 3 for percentage: Wada Maaya, 1st for percentage with dislikes equalling 135% of her overall points; Kawamura Mahiro, 3rd for percentage with 83%; and Kawago Hina, 2nd for percentage with 95%. Both Wada and Kawamura were involved in a scandal recently, though Kawago was not. Yoda Yuki was the least disliked Nogizaka member both by votes (tie with Terada Ranze) and percentage. For percentage Terada and Ikuta Erika were close behind in 2nd and 3rd. One of the charts shows overall scores with dislikes taken into consideration. There were a lot of major differences, including one plummet down 14 ranks.
Keyakizaka popularity
Goddesses Hirate Yurina keeps the #1 position in overall, this is the 4th survey she topped out of 6. This puts her in 1st every survey since the group’s debut excluding Autumn where she lost to Nagahama Neru by less than one point. Hirate lost points in both AF and OM yet she remains on top of each by a decent margin. Nagahama returned to 2nd after a brief drop to 4th in the last survey, with 2nd place in OM and 3rd in AF. Sugai Yuuka beat Nagahama for 2nd in AF but her low OM (fell to 6th from 2nd in winter) kept her behind overall. The Power Six Rather than separate these between Goddess and Demis I wanted to highlight the amazing competition between the members who ranked. In order of final rank these are: Shida Manaka, Imaizumi Yui, Watanabe Risa, Moriya Akane, Kobayashi Yui and Watanabe Rika. I first noticed about halfway through the polling period that these 6 members were within only one or two votes of each other even though they had so many (around 75 each, at the time). This near-tie continued for a very long time before they eventually began separating near the end. Watanabe Rika and Moriya’s high OM scores compensated for their low AF scores, and Imaizumi and Kobayashi’s decent AF scores did the same for their low OM scores. In terms of changes over the winter poll, the only standout result was Kobayashi, who made a huge point gain and went up a whole league of popularity, reaching a new record score, more than twice her score last spring. Other notable changes and Hiragana members Kanji Keyaki didn’t see many big changes with the major exception of Habu Mizuho who jumped back from 21st to 16th a large rise in score, her largest since last Spring, and also Harada Aoi who managed to reduce some of her huge drop last round (24th), now returning to 21st. Hiragana members had a few more major changes. Saito Kyoko replaced Kakizaki Memi as New-Hiragana’s highest ranking member at 18th. They actually swapped ranks with Kakizaki (now 23rd overall) taking Saito’s previous position as 4th in New-Hiragana. Kato Shiho and Sasaki Mirei were tied for 2nd last round but now Kato has gained the advantage pushing Sasaki back to 3rd. Keyakizaka Senbatsu Copied from Nogizaka – This time the senbatsu selection was done a little different. Rather than choosing which senbatsu members to keep and which unders to promote it asked respondents to choose senbatsu members from each team. Then two versions are made: (1) the top (average number of selected members) from the group regardless of what team they’re from and (2) the top (average number of selected members from each team’s question). The 2nd version is used if we want to take into consideration how many members fans want from each team. The respondents really showed how much they want all Kanjis to be in the next single. All Kanji-only members ranked before all Hiragana members (including Hiragana-Kanji kennin member Nagahama Neru). Next was Nagahama who ranked ahead of all Hiragana-only members. To be honest, this is probably because a number of fans forgot Nagahama is a Hiragana member and chose “none” without checking. But, in my defence, she is officially a Hiragana member first, with her kennin in Kanji. In any case, it would be unethical to change the results based on what I call mistakes so I must stick with the answers I have. As for the different versions of the results, using method 1 result with 18 members, all from Kanji Keyaki. Compared with the usual senbatsu, Ishimori Nijika, Ozeki Rika and Nagahama Neru are out. Using method 2, users chose 16 Kanji Keyaki members and 3 Hiragana Keyaki members, totalling in 19 (though both were only a few votes away from rounding down to 15 and 2). Method 2 sees Oda Nana and Saito Fuyuka removed from senbatsu, replaced with Nagahama Neru, Kato Shiho and Saito Kyoko. Centre Hopefuls Hirate Yurina ranked 1st in CH for the 2nd time. I wasn’t sure if she would rise or fall as the number of songs she centres rises but indeed her score rose slightly. Imaizumi Yui managed to stay in 2nd though her score continues to drop, with increasing speed. I expected this as she is being moved further from the centre and has recently entered hiatus to take care of her health. Nagahama Neru fell slightly no longer tying for 2nd but only a few points behind in 3rd. The most impressive rise was the new model, Watanabe Risa moving from 8th to 5th, swapping with Shida Manaka who went from 5th to 8th. Ironically, rank-wise, Hiragana members performed much better in CH than the senbatsu question. Kato Shiho jumped from 28th to 11th, becoming the highest ranking new Hiragana member, with Kakizaki Memi moving up one to 12th and Sasaki Mirei making her own big jump, from 30th to 16th. Keyakizaka Dislikes Copied from Nogizaka – This time I added dislikes, risking a bit of controversy. Ishimori Nijika received the most dislikes in Keyakizaka, and also ranked 2nd for most dislikes as a percentage of overall votes (AF+OM), with 51%. I’m not sure what exactly brought this about, one reason why I wish I did dislikes before to see if this happened suddenly/recently or if it was always a trend. Ozeki Rika came next for votes and 3rd for percentage an Iguchi Mao 3rd for votes and 1st for percentage (by a lot: her dislikes were 83% the size of her overall score). These are a little more predictable, as I often see people complaining about their personalities. Nagahama Neru came 4th, the highest ranking popular member. I was expecting more for Saito Fuyuka, to be honest, after some controversy about her comments about not filling Imaizumi Yui’s absence from a music TV performance which were perceived by some online as being insensitive toward Hiragana members, but she only ranked 8th (5th by percentage). The least disliked member by both votes and percentage was Sugai Yuuka. For percentage, she was followed by Kobayashi Yui, who also tied for 2nd least votes with 4 Hiragana members. One of the charts shows overall scores with dislikes taken into consideration. There were a few big differences, including Nagahama Neru falling from 2nd to 4th, and Kobayashi Yui rising from 8th to 6th.
Miscellaneous
Next single sales
I asked what respondents thought the weekly sales figures would be for the next release of each groups. Based on 276 answers, the average fan thought Nogizaka’s 18th single would sell 923k copies in its first week, up 48k over Influencer. The most common answer was 900k with 53 votes. With 272 responses, Keyaki’s 5th single averaged at 728k, up 95k over Fukyouwaon. The most common answer for Keyakizaka was 700k with 71 votes. If the predictions turned out to be accurate and the predicted growth continued, Nogizaka would reach 1 million in one week for their 20th single (Keyaki’s 7th), Keyakizaka would reach it on their 8th (Nogi’s 21st) and Keyakizaka would eventually overtake Nogizaka on their 10th/23rd singles (respective). Nogizaka Centre and New Gens I asked how Nogizaka’s management should choose centres. This probably reflects Keyakizaka-only fans’ opinions on how Keyaki should choose their centre if they do ever change it as Keyakizaka-only fans didn’t answer this one less than Keyaki questions. The idea of choosing based on concept or to match a song was the most popular by far, and was the only option accepted by more than 50% of responses. Rotating to make many members popular, and giving it to young members were the next most popular and shared a common thread in that they were both strategies for making members popular as a way of investing in the group’s future. The unpopular options were giving the centre to whoever is most popular, giving it to the most talented member, or having a way for fans to directly select the centre. It could be said these are similar in that they seem to be about rewarding members rather than building the future and perhaps that idea isn’t popular. I also asked if the respondents felt members from Nogizaka’s 3rd gen should enter senbatsu or not. I assigned values to the “yes” options (1), “soon” options (2) and “no” options (3), and used these to calculate an average response of 1.9, indicating “soon” (i.e. not yet) but leaning slightly toward “yes”. The most common answer was indeed “soon”, with the most common “yes” answer/reasoning being that some are ready and the most common “no” response/reasoning was that the 2nd gens need to all make their senbatsu debuts first. Hiragana Keyaki in Senbatsu Because I predicted they might be a bit more controversial (in a good way – a good source of discussion) the Hiragana in senbatsu and Hirate’s centre position questions had more complex questions. Respondents were asked whether they agree or not with 7 statements regarding new Hiragana members being included in Keyakizaka’s senbatsu. The content was based on discussions I often see in the international community. To summarise the results briefly: More than any other question respondents were against the idea of Hiragana members never being included in senbatsu. However, despite the results swinging toward “disagree”, many still agreed with the idea of all Kanji members always being included, and it is difficult to imagine the number of senbatsu members being increased to more than 21. The most agreed with statement (while still close to even) was that Hiragana need to wait until all the Kanji members have experienced being positioned in the first row (even though including new Hiragana members and featuring the remaining three Kanji members in the front row aren’t mutually exclusive, there appears to be a symbolic issue here). Indeed, in accordance with this result and the results seen in the 5th single senbatsu selection earlier, respondents on average chose to not include Hiragana in the 5th single. Also, despite a majority feeling Kanji reaching the first row is important enough to have Hiragana members wait for, respondents generally disagreed that Hiragana members should have the same chance if they eventually enter senbatsu. A slight majority feel that they have been waiting long enough for the chance as one year has passed since their entry and only a small number of responses felt no one in Hiragana is ready for senbatsu. Hirate Yurina’s centre position This question was divided into three parts. The first part asked when respondents thought Keyakizaka should change centre for the first time. Results were almost split between changing for the 5th (40.8%) and 6th (40.1%) singles. Keeping Hirate for both but changing sometime next year was far less popular (12.5%) and keeping Hirate until she graduates was even less popular (6.6%). The next two parts were more enlightening. I asked why people think Keyaki should change centre and the same for why not. It was the first time I included a question like that in a survey, usually I look around for opinions and then add those opinions as options. This method took a lot longer to analyse and some might disagree with the categories I broke the responses down to but I tried to represent the results as accurately as I could. There were many more responders for why Keyakizaka should change centre. Out of a total of 156 responders, 60 said they felt Hirate should take a break/is under too much pressure. 51 said changing centre would make things more interesting, or that the perma-centre is boring, or worried about it becoming boring. 48 said other members should also get promotion which I distinguished from 30 who said there’s too much focus on Hirate and the group needs more popular members (similarly 8 said Keyakizaka needs back up centres, someone who can take over Hirate is unable to perform). Other responses included worries about Hirate gaining antis or straining relations with the other members. Of the 96 responses, most of the arguments listed were about why Hirate is suited for the position. The most popular of these was a rather broad category I titled “Techi fanaticism” (35 votes). These included general comments such as “Techi is the undisputed CENTRE”, “it feels like Techi was born to be centre”, and so on. I distinguished them from people who mentioned her “aura” (15 votes), her skill (10) and her popularity (7). Other than comments on Hirate herself, 11 didn’t believe there was any member capable of taking over at this point, 10 argued that by keeping Hirate in centre they can establish a stronger presence with the general public. Other responses were waiting for things like the front row rotation (7), or were satisfied with the way things are and took a “don’t fix what isn’t broken” approach (7 specifically about Hirate, 6 who like stability in general). "Shipping" Another new question was asking respondents to submit their favourite pairs, the members they “ship”. This question was skipped a lot and I got some negative feedback, so I probably won’t be doing it again, but it was an interesting experience. For Nogizaka, the most popular pair was Sakurai Reika x Wakatsuki Yumi (49 points) followed by Shiraishi Mai x Matsumura Sayuri (21) with points dropping quite low after that. For Keyakizaka there was a bit more variation. Shida Manaka x Watanabe Risa (49) came first followed by the captain pair Sugai Yuuka x Moriya Akane (30 points), Hirate Yurina x Nagahama Neru (27) and the more recently featured Nagasawa Nanako x Watanabe Rika (21). For Nogizaka the most shipped member was Shiraishi Mai (55) followed by Wakatsuki Yumi (53) and Sakurai Reika (50), though the members shipped with the most members were Ikuta Erika (12) and Nishino Nanase (11). For Keyakizaka the most shipped members were Watanabe Risa (73) and Shida Manaka (66), with Watanabe Risa and Hirate Yurina tied for being shipped with most members (9 each). Fan alignment Almost every survey I ask respondents which group they are a fan of on a scale of 1-to-7 where 1 is Nogizaka purist and 7 is Keyakizaka purists. This one was almost exactly even. On average the 316 respondents to this question chose 3.99. So basically, even (4), with the smallest Nogizaka leanings. Meanwhile for their overall (well, Sakamichi) oshimen, 42.5% of respondents chose their Nogizaka oshimen, 30.6% chose their Keyakizaka oshimen and 26.9% couldn’t decide between the two. I broke down the results to the miscellaneous questions by fan alignment (the 1-to-7 rating) to see if there are any significant differences between primarily Nogizaka fans and primarily Keyakizaka fans. Of course, the Sakamichi oshimen was very clear cut. Almost everyone chose the group they were closest aligned to. Sales predictions also showed bias. On average people predicted higher sales for the group they are aligned with than the overall average. One peculiar exception was the ‘3’ group (leaning Nogi) made some of the highest Keyakizaka predictions and one of the lowest Nogizaka predictions. Nogizaka-leaning fans were inclined to choose earlier responses for when Keyakizaka should change centre than Keyakizaka- leaning fans, though among Nogizaka fans the closer they were to Keyakizaka the earlier they chose (‘3’ was the earliest at 1.5, exactly between the 5th and 6th singles). Nogizaka fans were also much more likely to want to see Hiragana in senbatsu soon, supporting Hiragana’s debuts across the whole section. The reverse was also true, though to a smaller extent, Keyakizaka leaning fans were also more interested in seeing Nogizaka’s 3rd gen in Nogizaka’s senbatsu now or soon, compared to Nogizaka fans, particularly Nogizaka purists. In choosing centres, Keyakizaka fans stood out in overwhelmingly voting for choosing centres based on concept/to match a song, an option which was also popular with Nogizaka fans, but the other popular options, rotation and investing in younger members, were more competitive.

Raoul Pal Makes His Bitcoin Price Prediction | Is More Than You Think!
VIDEO TRANSCRIPT
Okay. What is the risk reward upside. Well Bitcoin probably. 50 x 100 x Hey you what’s up guys. Despite the fact that Bitcoin dropped 50 percent recently I still remain very bullish over a long period of time. In this video Ali explain what happened with this recent 50 percent drop and then I will poll the CEO and co-founder of real vision who will explain his 50 to 100 x Bitcoin price prediction. Let’s take a quick look. What is going on with bitcoin market. Currently Bitcoin is straining over six thousand one hundred dollars. When this outbreak reached the United States some serious silos began to happen in different financial sectors. The S&P 500 dropped by 35 percent from top to bottom. Crude oil suffered the biggest losses. It dropped from six dollars a barrel to twenty dollars a barrel. That’s a 66 percent drop. Last time we have seen those prices back in 2001 which is almost 20 years ago. By the way recently I got some exposure to crude oil volatility. I believe in a year or two so it can be three to four x return on your investment and there is a Bitcoin. Bitcoin dropped from 10000 dollars to slightly below 5000 dollars and then it bounced back to the current price of six thousand dollars. That’s a 40 percent lowest since the beginning of this selloff. But what is very interesting about Bitcoin that most of the sell off did not come from the long term bitcoin holders. But it came from the short term speculators and relatively new traders Quinn metrics reviewed supply tracker how many old coins came back into circulation have they been on site for a specific period of time. For example 30 day review supply tracker how much supply is moved on on chain after been untouched for at least 30 day. If they look at their analysis as of March 11 the reports revealed that two hundred eighty one thousand BTC that were left untouched for at least 30 days was brought back into circulation which means short term speculators were most likely selling their bitcoins into the market. However from the stack of the bitcoin that had been on site for at least one year only four thousand one hundred thirty one BTC were released into circulation which means investors were holding in bitcoin for at least one year and most likely sold or moved 400 1 3 1 BTC into the market in the recent downturn. Investors who held bitcoin for at least three four or five years did not even touch their positions. Well it’s good to be one of them. Here is a slightly different chart that shows that March 11th was the fourth largest spike in BTC 30 day review supply over the last eight years which means traders who held bitcoin for at least 30 days were moving closely into the market and also the ever moving Bitcoin on the dip in the middle summer of 2013 when Bitcoin was around eleven thousand dollars per BTC which of course was a better time to sell. And they also were dumping bitcoin at around six thousand dollars back in late 2018 when we witnessed the biggest bear market. This is when Bitcoin dropped from 6000 to below three thousand dollars let’s take a look. What long term holders did. Meaning investors who are holding bitcoin for at least one year. Long term holders appear to be unfazed. In spite of this severe market downturn there were not really moving BTC into circulation as we see on this chart that they actually did move about two hundred thousand BTC in July to one tonight seen with bitcoin was slightly about ten thousand dollars which of course it makes sense to sell some of your BTC at highs. Now let’s take a look. Why Bitcoin can make 50 to 100 x from the current price. 50 to 100 x it would put Bitcoin price between three hundred thousand and six hundred thousand dollars per BTC. It seems like quite a lot right. But let me give you my thoughts why this could be a reality in the next few years. Firstly plan B stock to flow model is still intact despite the fact that Bitcoin recently has dropped by 50 percent from top to bottom. For the past decade. This model had 95 percent accuracy. Hands are square which is a statistical measure of how close that data are fitted into regression model. And it’s pretty pretty close. Also r squared can be determined as a future price prediction model which means this model is 95 percent confident that these data points which is in our case time Syria or bitcoin price moment will follow stuck to floor model. Another cool chart that Plan B created recently is a risk adjusted returns model which basically means how much risk do you have to take to receive a desirable rate of returns. Let’s take a quick look at the bond for example. Risk adjusted return profile is pretty low. Average return is close to zero percent. As we know that interest rates currently are at 0 percent and our risk is pretty low as well. So this is not that attractive investment at least for me. Then we have thank stocks which have slightly higher risk adjusted return profile. Let’s take a look at Google stock for example the stock can drop by 60 percent down with its 12 percent annual rate of returns which is also not that attractive but of course it’s more attractive than bonds but now the SEC a look at Bitcoin. Bitcoin can drop by 75 percent from top to bottom but it can also explode by 140 percent easily. Therefore over a long period of time Bitcoin has the best risk adjusted return profile. That’s put all those charts aside and look at the potential catalyst that can take bitcoin 50 to 100 x. What is going on in the world right now is insane productivity of our economy is dropping in the faster and faster rate as of more than three point three million people claimed for unemployment just as of last week. Government bonds are expensive with no yield. Stock market is still expensive. Well not super expensive but it’s definitely not cheap inflation rate is about to skyrocket as Federal Reserve expand its balance sheet last week. Balance sheet that was above the 4 trillion dollars and now it’s over five point two trillion dollars. It just a matter of time where we will see asset in double digits on the Fed’s balance sheet. The only take is left is commodities such as crude oil precious metals and crypto currencies as a serial entrepreneur and crypto curious investor Christopher or rather recently stated bitcoin will be safe haven in a time of hyperinflation. And I do believe this is true. Q infinity is rating placed by further other reserve but because supply won’t be changed. In fact between Kevin Cash awards is just 45 days away which is another catalyst to be super bullish. Christopher has a lot of cool post about crypto currencies and whether an economy on his Instagram if you guys are interested I really will link to his A.G. in the description bugs below and finally I will pull the big believer that beacon can make 50 to 100 extra return on investment. Those of you who do not know what all you probably worth sleeping under the rock recently. All poll is a former hedge fund manager at Goldman Sachs and the CEO and co-founder of field vision. He said something very interesting. If he had to choose one asset for the next 10 years what would it be. And his answer was bitcoin. Let’s take a look. You said something to the effect that if you could own one asset for the next decade. It would be Bitcoin. Yeah. And I’d love to understand the rash. Now the reasoning behind that. Two things. So let’s say that same 30 year old and you’ve got 10 years you’re now in your. The stage where you start really trying to. Create wealth or save some money for future retirement whatever it may be getting married or lesser. So if an equity market is all time high valuations have a fixed income market. Yes you can make money if you know what you’re doing but yields are low so holding for extended period time is not an option. Property markets are too expensive for anybody to afford. So what are you left with. Well credit markets well you really get access to those anyway they’re more for professionals and guess what they’re all time record valuations as well. So you’re stuck with everything that is normal. At all time record valuations. So what are you left with. You’ve got commodities. Okay. So if you’re looking at industrial commodities Well the reason what you’re doing because these things are massively cyclical and you can get killed in them. So then you’re left with precious metals and bitcoin. That potentially have. An upside that’s different. Now why is it different. Why is it important because. And I’m sure we’ll talk a bit about this is. The environment that we’re potentially going into with. A massive wave of baby boomers retiring. With record debts. And governments are going to have to. And central banks have to figure out how to stimulate economies which are slow anyway. But we’ve got an aging population that spend money. If I look at my father’s spending patterns after he retired we fell 70 percent. Well that’s big for 76 million people in the US alone. So what happens is it slows down economies. There’s too much debt for slow economies. It can become a problem central banks need to print more money to try and keep this thing going. And essentially ends in complex outcomes. And we don’t really know what those outcomes are. But usually they end up in some sort of massive loss of capital for a lot of people. Or a transfer of capital and losses. So that kind of thing. Is interesting. We also know we got really screwed up financial system. It never really recovered in 2008. We’ve still got too much debt. We’ve still know the European banks are a problem. You know Canada’s going to have problems with its banking sector because it lent too much of the property market. We’ve got problems. But on top of problems we got leverage on top of leverage. Well there’s never been more leverage before. How do you step outside of that. Right. And again there’s bitcoin and gold that is too obvious answers. Are they the future of money. Well gold is a money and it’s been a money for a very long time. So that’s kind of obvious. And yes we’ll gold do well. Do I own gold. Yes. Do I think it’s going up. Yes. Bitcoin different. Bitcoin is an entire it is a basically think of it as. An option on a future financial system. And it’s not just a financial system. Everything is going digital. And Bitcoin and the block chain and digital currencies and all of this world. Is like a parallel system that’s sucking the smartest people I’ve ever met. And they’re all going to develop stuff here because what they’re saying is that system can be bettered. And what Bitcoin is all about in that whole movement and Bitcoin is just the flagship of it. Is a trusted ownership of anything. And as some as friend of mine called it the security truth machine because everything is recorded by numerous parties. Basically you get rid of all of the issues the financial system of who owns what. And. Can people take your assets away from you and all of that kind of stuff. It also opens up the new world. So gamers and people who are younger understand that digital assets have value. Well right now digital assets are hard to transfer around. But once you start going to tokenization and crypto and digitize it the whole world is different. And that’s why if I look. Skate to where the puck is going as a Canadian would say. The puck is going to something new. And we know digital is everything. As Mark and Jason said software is eating the world and it is and digitization is eating well too. So as we get to digitization in a digital money I often ask myself because we’re in the gold business. Is gold a product that can continue to be relevant for a younger generation. And of course we hope so and there are digital versions of gold and trading platforms and you can buy it on your mobile phone so there are tools allowing younger generations that are more comfortable with that type of technology. But. Perhaps Bitcoin and the watch chain embraces it and speaks them more directly. Everyone gets confused about the technology because it’s too complicated for anybody to understand and the possible futures what you can build with this stuff is impossible for you to understand. But does anybody know. The molecular structure of God. No. People don’t. It’s irrelevant. With gold. Yes I think. There will always be a place because there always has been a place you know there’s always been young generate whatever. There’s always been new technologies but. Gold largest future probably lies. With other countries. Just because. So many countries have it intrinsically as part of their culture. So that’s not going away. And yes Indians will use digital currencies there. They’ve really got this incredible digital payment system we can pay with a fingerprint for a pint of milk. That’s already happening India still hold gold. Right. So there is there is room for both in the future. Absolutely. And that’s what we try to tell people as well. But when you say OK what is the risk reward upside. Well Bitcoin probably. 50 x 100 x well gold maybe 5 x 10x. The downside for gold is less bitcoin. Well it’s not a hundred percent anymore even it’s 50 percent. And it goes up. You know 100 fold. Well the reward is so skewed in favor of cryptocurrency. Well you did say near to it you’re only picking one so we’re not. And that was the point. Yeah. And I said you know gold guys I don’t it’s not why I like let it end there at the end it’s really for us because it was going to but what about gold and like the question was What is the one asset that’s gonna give you that return. Fair enough. Now if you think of Bitcoin at its simplest terms as a share on the future of a financial system well you’re going to have these roller coaster ride bubbles until eventually you get mass adoption and the volatility slows down. So yes it was a bubble. I do expect it to go through the previous highs in the next 18 months to 12 months but with bitcoin you could do it in a week and you have no idea. Right. But I do I do expect that to happen. OK I totally agree with it all polled that Bitcoin is the call option on the future financial system. It is also the main asset of my choice. Bitcoin go to 50 to 100 x is definitely probable. Specifically if it really hit some sort of paradigm shift let me know what you guys think about bitcoin price prediction go into 50 to 100 x. Do you think it’s realistic. Leave your thoughts in the comments section below. He looks like button the subscribe.
