it's not a thing that affects my quality of life the way it does for other people but i'm still feeling really depressed today about being yanked around so dramatically over student loan debt.

i don't owe money on an income-based repayment plan, because my only money is disability benefits so my expected payments have always been $0.

but i'm not the right kind of disabled for the debt to be eliminated outright when biden did that, so i switched to the save plan once it existed in the hopes that the tens of thousands of dollars hanging over me would at least drop off my credit report a little sooner.

instead, it's been in mandatory limbo for months and the time passing by doesn't count anymore but there's no way for me to unfreeze it...and now it's not even possible to switch back to the kinds of income based repayment that still were allowed.

i don't know what the fuck will end up happening because the department of education is officially being run by someone who's openly hoping it dies, but also i have no income they can take if my loan servicer decides i owe something every month. my ssdi isn't even enough to afford housing. what'll they do, garnish my food stamps?

so i know i have way less right to complain than people actually struggling to pay their loans while interest racks up--but i just hate this. it's just one more thing.

and while every person with leftover student loans is used as a punching bag, bouncing between the courts and broken websites and lying politicians and nazi tech bros...there's no end in sight, for yet another problem that didn't need to be a worsening problem in the first place.

so i went to add some things to my drafts today and realized there was a bunch of unexpected stuff in there, posts i already posted and often duplicated multiple times. my guess is that somehow tumblr was saving a new draft every time a thing i was working on saved, and then sometimes keeping them in drafts after i did post them? was this a known issue, or has this happened to anybody else? no idea if it'll happen again but it was weird to encounter
