the music was blaring loudly in the bar and different colored lights were being flashed. you were going around the bar, greeting all your friends and meeting people they brought to the party with them. behind you was hamzah, you had his hand in yours as you walked around and you would squeeze his hand to see if he was doing alright.

you two were together almost the whole night, stuck to each other like you were attached by the hip.

until your mutual friends arrived and split you guys apart. he was occupied by them all night while you were hosting the party and catching up with your friends.

at some point, you were looking around the bar for him, feeling incomplete without hin by your side and suddenly, you bump into him.

"oh my god hi," you said, a soft blush rising to your cheeks.

he was about to speak when another one of your friends called out for you and pulled you away from him. you mouth sorry to him and he just smiles at you.

the whole night, hamzah was on your mind. he was on your mind when you did shots with your friends, when another boy flirted with you, when you danced, anything. when hamzah saw you on the dance floor with another guy, he felt himself tense up, avoiding you the rest of the night.

it had felt weird. you two were just friends right?

as the night was slowly coming to an end, whenever your friends bid goodbye, you insisted on coming with them outside until they got into their ride.

when the bar was empty, you made your way towards hamzah who was sitting on one of the stools with a drink in his hand. you took a seat beside him. he was quiet and you were too though he could see you from his peripheral vision.

your head was in your hands, hamzah calling for the bartender you had hired and asked for water.

he taps your shoulder and your head shoots up slowly, he opens the bottle then hands it to you with a small smile. you feel your stomach doing backflips before smiling at him and taking the bottle.

"thanks," you tell him, tucking a strand of hair behind your ear.

"wanna go now? i'll drive," he tells you but you shook your head.

you got off your stool, pulling it closer to his before sitting on it again. you place your head on his shoulder and a hand on top of his. "let's just stay here for a while."

hamzah felt nervous, biting his lip to hide his smile but fails. he was glad you couldn't see him. then right after, he wraps and arm around your waist, hand fiddling where your top ended.

you had fallen asleep in hamzah's arms after a while then he drove you both back to the air bnb, him wiping your makeup off before letting you get changed into your sleeping clothes.

"night hamzah, you're the best." you said softly as he tucked you in your bed.

"good night."

ONE WEEK LATER

“Yo I’m the greatest friend to ever walk planet Earth bruh. Davis finally let his balls drop and now him and Diana are going on a date together” You gushed to the brunette.

“Finally” Jenna chuckled.

It was currently 11 p.m. in London, which meant it was 6 p.m. in New York. Jenna just finished filming for the day and she needed to hear your voice. This is the first time in a week she's seen your face.

She was still on edge about Neil and hasn’t told you. She didn’t want to bring you into her mess and potentially end up finding out about her past. So she kept it to herself.

Your eyes were glued to the screen as you played Call of Duty, "Yeah I told him I'll help him plan his date since he wants to impress her."

"How sweet of you. I didn't know you had a sweet side to you sour patch kid" Jenna teased.

You stick your middle finger up at her to which she lets out a cute little giggle.

"So what's up with you? How filming going?" You asked and pushed your headphones behind your ears. Jenna had tried to stop the thoughts that ran through her mind a mile a second just now. But it was difficult when you looked good with a white tank top on displaying your tattoos, grey sweatpants, your chain dangling from your neck which she wants to grab at, and your glasses on.

After a moment, Jenna snapped out of her thoughts to answer your question, "It's going fine. Tim is forcing me to have a stunt double for the majority of my stunts which sucks because he don’t even know I’m pregnant" Jenna answered.

“Probably got that intuition” You shrugged.

“I guess. But other than that, filming is fine. Quiet little London Town that I can’t remember for the life of me” Jenna said and laid down in her bed. She let out a yawn.

“Go to sleep mamas. Call me when you get up” You said.

“No I wanna talk to you. I haven’t seen your face in a while” Jenna pouted.

You smiled, “But you need sleep. I know you probably have to get up mad early.”

“Yeah around like 4” Jenna sighed.

“See. Call me when you get me I’ll be up” You said.

"Okay," Jenna pouted. She hangs up the phone and turns over to stare at her ceiling.

She felt tears start to gather under her eyes but she quickly wiped them away. She was struggling with the just being friends with you. Each day, her feelings for you grow stronger but it was still something holding her back from pursuing you. She needed to figure it out quickly because she don’t know how much longer she can take it.

As the phone hung up, you let out a sigh and rubbed your face. You missed her badly. You wished you could just book a spontaneous flight over to London but you couldn’t…just yet.

You needed a distraction. You grabbed your phone and hopped onto your most used app, Twitter (you was not calling that shit X or whatever fuck Elon named. Fuck Elon Musk).

The two of you then hear a ding from your phone. You grabbed it and saw it was a video from Jenna. You click on it and it starts with her showing her belly.

"Officially 14 weeks pregnant and the baby is the size of a navel orange," Jenna said and showed her belly. It was protruding more now but she was still able to hide it. Only if you got super close to her stomach you'll see she's pregnant but ain't nobody getting that close to her. "I want some oranges now. My appetite has skyrocketed now but luckily my boobs are not as tender anymore, thank god-"

In the background, you heard someone call Jenna's name. She sighed before turning back to the camera, "I have to get back on set but I just wanted to give you a quick update on us. I miss you and two months need to come quicker" Jenna said and kissed the camera. You smiled at the video and rewatched it again.

IWTV S2 Ep1 Musings - Revenants Pt1

I've been thinking about the vampire population in Europe for a while, and WHY it was that Louis & Claudia had such a hard time finding any sentient vampires until they got to Paris.

It's SO interesting that AMC added Daciana, an old AF vampire who's obvs mentally traumatized, but still highly sentient & verbose & articulate; and one who knew other sentient vampires long ago, too.

We get the impression that the locals are going around killing vampires, or preventing them from being made just cuz they're shooting up coffins & wearing garlic. But we know that that's not how AR lore works--making vampires involves copious blood exchanges--not even S01E01 really showed it in full, cuz vamps need to swap blood back & forth quite a few times for the best results--like Marius did with Armand.

Which is why Claudia's revenants failed; she doesn't have enough.

We see Daciana feeding the soldier blood, and she's obvs bitten him, too, but it's clearly not enough--Lestat said you have to "half-kill" the victim and not drink dead blood--so I wonder if it's cuz the injured soldiers Daciana picks are just too close to dying already?

Who knows. We can assume Daciana's not the Maker of the other revenants Lou & Claudia encountered across Europe. Which begs the question: who is? And why're they making such shoddy vamps? Are ALL these Makers THAT weak?

Then it dawned on me when I remembered Marius again:

Are these northern & eastern European vampires the "Old Gods" from the Queen's Blood? Like--from the GREAT BURNING? 👀

Cuz it would make sense that the reason all the vampires Louis met suck (literally) in the Old World is cuz their Makers just CAN'T make better vampires--they're still too injured! 👀

Like, TVL implied that Teskhamen (Marius' Maker) might've FAILED b4, or that he'd seen other candidates NOT become proper vamps strong enough to make it back to Egypt. HE'd been too weak to make any; he was scared he didn't have it in him to do it properly.

Teskhamen said that the "Old Gods" all over Europe had burned up. It hadn't been a decade after the Great Burning that he turned Marius, and was still a charred black husk. (Centuries later, when he makes Hesketh, he's STILL injured. So I wonder: are the vampire Makers out there creating revenants injured & weak, too?....)

Teskhamen waited til Mael found Marius, "the mortal Who Knows, and is Learned and Can Learn," and made Marius a vamp cuz he was smart & educated; not only increasing his odds of sneaking TWMBK out of Egypt, but also likely lowering the possibility that he'd turn out a mad, dumb revenant.

Cuz aesthetics are everything with AR vamps--even as crispety crackety crunchety as Teskhamen was, he STILL had to go on bragging about how beautiful he'd once been, like, bruh? 🙄

But that got me thinking some more, this time about Louis, and his attitude towards revenants, which I'll put in Part 2, cuz it's a lot longer--this is just me thinking out loud about wtf might've gone wrong in Europe, based on what Teskhamen, Mael & Marius described in the books.
