Battle of the Halos of the Original Protagonists! Just kidding. Im in the mood for a hardcore action hero protagonist meets a cute, sweet and gentle heroine. They became siblings and grow. Or they save the world with their clashing aesthetics appearance and personalities with also lovingly bickering sibling energy.

Then it hits me: Yoo Joonghyuk from the original Three Ways to Survive Apocalypse meets Jennette de Alger Obelia of the original Lovely Princess!

Okay this has been on my mind for soooooo long so I decided to do something about it.

Who made me a princess x Trash of the count's family

Cale is secretly a prince in Obelia not like claude had another child but Jour being a princess there because the previous Emperor took a liking to her and unoficially Adopted(??) her and the previous Empress didn't really care but acted as a Mother towards Jour. Basically Jour is known as the Rose Princess and is adored by the whole Empire. Claude, Anastasuis and Jour have sibling relationship and Cale being the older brother of Athy and Jeanette(Cale is 4 years older than the two of them). But ofc Jeanette and athy meets eachother later found out about cale being a prince. Athy never knew about this because when she was young Cale was only visiting athy randomly. And with Jeanette, Cale visited her secretly but the Duke knew.

But ofc No one from Roan and TCF knows this.

When cale was 16 and in Obelia he told Athy and Jeanette he will be gone for a couple of years and he will be back. After dealing with the war with the white star and other stuff.

Cale is 21 years old and tells alberu and the crew that he will be leaving for somewhere but he will be back and tells no one to follow him. He visits Obelia and meets Jeanette, Athy, Claude and Anastasuis in a Ball and formally greets them (Aeternitas has already been dealt with by Lucas, and Anastasius is now nuetral Though Claude still hates him just a little less) and he apologizes to Athy and Jeanette for being late and asks Jeanette for her first dance.

"Your Highness, May I have this dance" as Cale helds his hand out.

If there had been one person, just one more person other than Lily who believed in her, she believed that the original Athanasia in the novel wouldn't have been so miserable. Maybe she wouldn't have craved for her absent father's affection, and maybe this extra person would've protected her from her naivete.

But alas, Athanasia had no one like that, so the reader frowned and decided to sleep after taking her pills, unaware of her untimely death.

And while the sudden reincarnation was shocking, it still wasn't as mind-boggling as seeing the prettiest baby she's ever seen sleeping peacefully beside her!

(Cale would just like to rest peacefully, please. Seriously)

I was feeling like a bit of slightly-angsty isolation this thursday, so...

AU where, instead of a double transmigration happening, RokSoo transmigrated to ogCale's body, but ogCale was put into a newly made double of his body and confined into a dimension pocket.

And just, no one knows about it and he can't get out until certain conditions are reached. For example: that someone finally gets rid of WS.

Luckily for him, RokSoo and company are rather fast to kill the white star. It only took them two years, way better than in his previous timeline.

Although, those are still two years in which og!Cale, the 40-year-old war soldier turned an 18-year-old time-traveler, had to spend trapped in that place. Completely alone except for the occasional god checking on him, and a few animals a god had the kindness to let for him. (It was Loki, but no one is going to call him out).

Og!Cale is a person who loves easily and deeply but, contrary to his true nature, someone who lived through decades without deep boundaries to gave him feedback. Whether it was during the war that took everyone he knew from him, or before that, with the family he choose to stay at distance and love them from the side-lines. He lived so long without feeling genuine care, making any emotional bond that isn't one-sided, that he's hungry for them.

Being in the past, where everyone he loves hadn't died yet, where they will live, and being so close— just a dimensional door away, really— but not being able to see them, hear them, nor even talk to them... It hurts.

He's happy and so, so glad. They're alive. They can laugh and eat and breath again— and, someday, he will see them again. Even if they don't know how to act with him and is uncomfortable. Even if, most probably, they don't know he's not there and don't miss him, he will see them again.

So, yeah, he's fine with this situation. He accepted this.

That doesn't mean that the waiting doesn't suck. He, a freedom loving person, trapped in the godly version of a safehouse. Most of the days it's only he, his thoughts and the ridiculous massive library Athena managed to fit in here. And his friends, the animals, of course.

Inside of that lonely place, of course, Cale gets attached to the animals that are by his side everyday. He was already an animal lover, to begin with. The little guys who just go through their lives being absolutely adorable and are more loyal than most people around... How can he not love them?

Besides, Athanasia, the griffin, gives the best cuddles he has ever had.

He gets used, eventually. It's not like he never had lived in a big house where the only beings around wouldn't speak more than three words to him. (Well, at least the animals try to talk with him. He just needed to learn what they mean.)

And Cale can do whatever he wants here. If he wants to play the violin or paint, do acrobatics or keep his training, he can just do it. There's no need to hide. No need to restrain himself.

There's no one here to get sad at her memories. No one to spread rumors about 'skills' or 'talents'. No one to turn his interests into weapons against his own family by comparing Bassen to him.

Eventually, it feels like a different kind of freedom here.

—And then he gets out.

1. Athanasia de Alger Obelia (Who Made Me A Princess)

First hyperfixation, the manhwa I saw from start to finish. Art is just absolutely beautiful and I've been attached from the very start. Her character arc surrounding her father, Claude, had me clutching my pearls and sobbing my eyes out.

2. Dazai Osamu (Bungou Stray Dogs)

Strongest hyperfixation on the series yet. There's a certain feel I get whenever I see or read content about him. Do I relate to him? Concerningly. But it's the sort of connectedness I feel when reading what Odasaku thinks of Dazai and me agreeing and being called out half of the time lol. Lastly, he's just so pretty.

3. Chuuya Nakahara (Bungou Stray Dogs)

This man's backstory has me in a chokehold. He's gone through so much shit but, compared to other characters, he remains a "good" man. Such a complex character I can't get enough of tbh. Asagiri really paired the donut man and one of the most beautiful written characters together and I love it/pos. Lastly, also very pretty. Imagining him together with Dazai, whether platonic or romantic, is also a treat.

4. Wilbur Soot (dsmp, qsmp, general yt)

His content just, helped me get through quarantine. Also his songs are just bangers, and Lovejoy is one of my top favorite bands next to The Neighborhood.

5. Kim Dokja (Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint)

One of the first Korean novels I've ever read and finished. He is just such a well-done character, and ORV as a story in general should become a literary classic (in my humble opinion). The way he seeks comfort in a story and is willing to stay until its very end, I relate to that so much, and I just feel for this tragedy-surrounded man. I wish only the best for him and his company.

6. Cale Henituse (Trash of the Count's Family)

I remember reading the novel in its early stages and waking up for school, to then eat cereal and slowly finish reading what's been published in the dim light. Haven't touched the second book yet, but the first book was just, woah. Amazing. Rollercoaster ride. Our young lord really should start looking out for his health more, everyone's so worried.

7. Han Sooyoung (Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint)

Her story arc of being an antagonist, to the third member of their trio, and [spoiler], was an absolute blast. Her character was written with such a personality she touched my heart with her spunk and gentle care towards her friends. What she's done for KDJ is absolutely what tore my heart out. She deserves so much. They all do. Speaks even more to me since I'm a writer. Love her with all my heart <3.

8. Achilles (Greek Mythos, the Song of Achilles)

He amuses me. His rage, his reactions, the slaughter he made across the battlefield, and the way he eventually died. The fact we have historical evidence from a vase that people back then saw him rolled up into a blanket burrito during his sulking period. That he sent out one of his "closest" men in his own armory and grew enraged (understatement) when he returned as a corpse. I just, love him. Words cannot explain how I hold him, and Patroclus, to a high regard in my heart.

9. Tallulah (qsmp)

Best egg child to ever exist. Second is Chayanne. The admin for this character just stole us from the very start. Deserves a thousand bamboo flutes.

10. Ayna and Ranonthean (Secret Lady)

Might be considered cheating but these two are a couple and the toxicity cannot exist without the other. The slow unfurling of how their love story that led to the actual FL and ML's current predicament (read the story it's so good) absolutely rocked my shit. Like, omfg their children. Her family. Fate itself. I wanna sock Fate in the face. They're in love, but their love cannot thrive in a place like that. At least not for long. And it shows; the chapter this image is from, side story 11, has me by the throat. Banana-nim's art just makes everything better. They're relatively good for each other, but because of the situations forced on them, shit happens. Doomed by the narrative indeed.

One thing that bothers me anout TCF is why the God of Death decided to transmigrate KRS after he finished Volume 5 of TBaoH. Why not wait for him to finish the series? Like, what's the disadvantage of KRS finishing the book before becoming Cale? The speedrun in TCF would have been faster if he knew how the story ended. Sure, there's the idea that maybe the author wanted to showcase KRS' brilliance in being able to adapt and conquer situations, and I'm not asking for Kim Dokja the 2nd, I JUST WANNA KNOW WHY TRANSMIGRATE HIM AFTER THE FIFTH VOLUME? I'm sorry for the rant...

I really should catch up to the more recent chapters because I feel like I'll trip on canon facts without knowing and become the laughing stock of TCF.

So whatever I say next is just me making up theories based on my knowledge up to reading to chapter 663.

Firstly, OG!Cale was forty before switching with 36 year old Kim Rok Soo. Because we know time runs different between these parallel worlds, it could be due to time differences- OG!Cale died faster than Kim Rok Soo could finish the entire series and triggered the whole Death God transaction and all. That's the easiest plotwise explanation.

But if we're talking about storywriting decisions here's a different view:

How much our protagonists knows will affect how well they assimilate into the world they transmigrated into.

We all have read ISEKAI novels/webcomics of protagonists equipped with varying degrees of preemptive knowledge. If I were to grossly simplify and summarise the three types it would be:

"All-Knowing" Protagonist - the ones who know the most if not the entire plotline, future, flow of the world, with foresight/power so great they break the world's natural laws/logic mechanisms. (e.g. Kim Dokja, Ainz Ooal Gown, Kim Gong-Ja, Shiroe)

Semi-present Protagonist - ones who have 'part' of the full picture. Their knowledge of the world only helps them up to a certain extent - either due to limited preemptive knowledge or butterfly chain effect of their actions changing the future they ‘know’. They learn more about the world the longer they stay and adapt accordingly. (e.g. Kim Rok Soo, Athanasia de Alger Obelia, Melissa Podebrat)

"I just want to be a normal NPC!" - isekaied as a normie with no preemptive plot/world knowledge. They have to learn and adapt to the new world from step 0. (e.g. Rudeus Greyrat, Myne, Naofumi, Rimuru Tempest)

*note that these are just my own categorisation and by no means, encapsulates all types of ISEKAI tropes. Here I'm just separating them according to how much 'world' knowledge they already have before transmigrating.

We all love our “All-Knowing” Protagonists who shred through crises like it’s wet paper. It sets an exhilarating fast pace and honestly now, who doesn’t enjoy the constant victory high from being right all the time? Original plot doesn’t really matter much in this category because our beloved stronk af protags will bend all unsavoury parts to fit their purposes. Keeping momentum at a constant high is a challenge but when done well it feels pretty dang awesome.

Here’s one thing about “All Knowing” Protags, they are never fully immersed into the world they’ve transmigrated/reincarnated into. Because they ‘know’ how future events unfold they are able to objectively view the situation they’re thrust into. They can take a back seat (which really gives us that powerful omnipresent feeling) and pull strings or armstrong their way past obstacles because that’s just how powerful they are. They however, never feel part of the world they’re in because their OPness emphasises their ‘otherness’ in this world. Natives either fear or respect them and it could lend to a feeling of distance. Most of the protagonist examples I’ve listed as well, have on multiple occasions been able to reflect on “Oh right, I’m in a story/video/game world.” often pulling themselves back from integrating fully into their new world.

Now, imagine Kim Rok Soo having read the entire series, with his perfect memory it would guarantee he’d have the solutions to every problem that’ll be thrown his way the moment he transmigrates into TBoaH. This would launch him straight into “All-Knowing” Protagonists because with that sexy smart brain, he’s going to eliminate all threats at the root ASAP so he can enjoy that sweet, sweet slacker life. Knowing Kim Rok Soo, he’d also not bother with interacting with any of the character casts because why bother making friends when you can solve the problem just like that *snap*? 

With only limited knowledge however, Kim Rok Soo has to be careful how he manipulates things. He still took a lot of shortcuts due to his understanding of the world, but the fact he got reincarnated before he finished meant he can’t afford not to make friends with the main cast. Because logically, he does not know how many more problems Choi Han will have to face, but he does know Choi Han is the protagonist and protagonists always live to the end. Sticking close to Choi Han, or at least making an ally of him would ensure his survivability. As such, through befriending Choi Han and his allies, it’s inevitable Kim Rok Soo has to immerse himself fully into the story’s world - it’s not just a story now. It’s a world he has to survive in - and eventually decides to live in as well.

So tl;dr TCF would only last 50 chapters if KRS had transmigrated with full knowledge of TBoaH.

I’d like to add in a writer’s point of view that, even I, wouldn’t want to plan 700+ chapters ahead and never write my story. I'd just write it. LMAO

Cale, Athanasia and Jennette siblings Au

I love the idea of Athy and Cale being siblings but I want Jennette to be included since both girls deserve to be in a HEALTHY FAMILY RELATIONSHIP.

Like Cale could teach Jennette how to loot and be independent. Teach her how family actually works. Cale and Athanasia could have someone to relate to.

Imagine how protective Cale's family and friends would be of the girls. I personally think Choi Han and Jennette would get along nicely.

I headcannon Jennette as a late bloomer to magic, so maybe they can find a way to bring it out?

An Au where Cale basically "adopts" Athanasia and Jennette as his little sisters after the girls run away together during the amnesia arc but they go the festival together.

I always like the idea of athy and jettie running away together and athy and cale being "siblings" so why not both.

Athanasia and Cale knew each other as Lee Jihye and Kim Rok Soo from the orphanage they stay in together and stayed close until athy passed away. So the two pretty much knew what the other person is like and what they went through. Cale also knows about Lovely princess since he and Jihye read it together and agreed that it sucked.

Jennette finds out about both athy and cale being transmigrators and about Lovely princess so she's more than okay with leaving with athy.

Athanasia and Jennette will be a healthier environment and learn what's family is really about cause Claude and Anastacius were not it.

I honestly think their family dynamic would be interesting especially with Jennette in the mix.

Would Cale's family and friends like Athanasia and Jennette? Headcannon Cale and Athy teach Jennette Korean.

Trying to make a mood board/aesthetic board (?) for the first time. The color scheme doesn't match a bit but I tried haha.

This is kinda an AU/canon divergence where Cale and Athy, or Kim Rok Soo and Lee Jihye (not the same like the one in ORV) knew each other from back in Korean world, in orphanage. Lee Jihye died shortly after leaving the orphanage and was transmigrated as Athanasia of the novel The Lovely Princess. Then monsters appeared and yada yada then Kim Rok Soo died and became Cale Henituse of The Birth of a Hero.

Twist here: both have memories of the original Athanasia/Cale. The World Tree/God of Death revealed to them that they were the reincarnations of the original and ironically, they had been brought back to save their original world, which added a bit of tragedy in it because in some way, their world had abandoned them and both of them died due to their own family.

So now, with this second (third?) chance of living, even if they had to claw and bite and cheat and steal, they would fight till the bloody end for their happy ending

Hey been reading To Murder a God by scripturiented and man reading this made me wish Athanasia had someone like Cale in who made me a princess.

The story is basically a crossover between Who Made Me A Princess and Trash of the count's family with Cale reincarnated as Felix's younger brother. It's a good read and it's such a breath of fresh air that Cale doesn't not give two sh*ts about Claude as he should.

Cale actually knowledge that Claude isn't a good parent to Athy and is a threat to both him and her. This man actually is a parent so it's no surprise he wouldn't be okay with how Claude treats Athy.

Seriously why can't we get more like this?!

Au where Athanasia, Irene, and Cale knew each other as Lee Jihye, Jo Ara, and Kim Rok Soo back in Korea during their past lives. Jihye and Rok Soo met in the orphanage and later meet Ara in elementary school before Rok Soo was adopted by his uncle.

They get close enough to the point they even consider each other siblings as all of them were only child's.

I want Cale to have "sisters" from his past life. Can you imagine the angst that Cale lost the girls he saw as his sisters pass away before the apocalypse and he couldn't do anything to stop their deaths?

I want these three to have someone who can relate and understand their pain. Cale could have more people understand him and his personality (so no misunderstandings between them), Athanasia won't have to pretend around them, Irene will have who help with her identity crisis and so on. There a lot of potential for this trio.

Like, Athy runs away (she brings Jennette with her) and looks for Cale. Then they find Irene at Demeter academy in Cherdan kingdom.

Most of Credit for this au goes to @dyinggirldied since their siblings au was just Cale and Athanasia. I just included Irene and Jennette to the au. I just really want Cale to have "little sisters" who are transmigrators like him.

Dyinggirldied mentioned about Athy changing the color of her jeweled eyes from blue to a shade of pink like Diana or reddish pink similar to Cale's reddish-brown/gray eyes.

So I decided to make a few edits of Athanasia and Jennette eyes changed to reddish-brown/gray on par with my idea to include Jennette with athy and cale.
