so sad that you deny your womanhood. there is no shame in being a woman there’s no need to reject it. woman isn’t a feeling it’s a reality and there’s nothing wrong with embracing it. you can’t identify out of womanhood. i’m sorry men made you feel like you had take on a non binary identity in order to be seen as a person.
I’m a butch dyke and I’m sorry that you can’t find humanity in that you egregious fucking cunt

The point of learning the fundamental language of grammar and syntax Isn’t correctness or obeying the rules. It’s keeping the rules from obtruding themselves upon the reader Because you’ve ignored them.
The reader is just like you, Full of subtle, distracting feelings when things are going wrong in a sentence.
Every reader is always two readers. One reads with a deep, intuitive feel for the way language works And yet with overwhelming literalness. This reader (no matter what he consciously knows about grammar or syntax) is troubled by mistakes, misspellings, And especially the syntactical miscues that cause ambiguity. This reader will always stumble over your errors. If a sentence offers an ambiguous path—two ways of being read—this reader will always take the wrong one.
The other reader—literate, curious, adaptable, intelligent, open-minded— Will follow you anywhere you want to go As long as your prose is clear.         (More on this excellent person soon.) Every reader is both of these readers in one. Write for both together.
—Several Short Sentences About Writing, Verlyn Klinkenborg

i cannot get over the framing in the show. this one, in particular, is giving me a lot of thoughts rn.
It's so... whole. The entire narrative and the inner lives of the three characters are effectively represented. Mol reminisces the past and they immediately turn in three different directions, each of them so lonely and consumed by their emotions, each one of them dealing with the same tragedy from completely different perspectives. they turn to seek refuge in the world inside them. and with that, the touches. the longing for connection. In is unsure, hands towards himself. afraid to reach out. Wang is longing for a connection, reaching out slowly toward In. creeping in quietly. Mol is holding on to In. a tight grip on his hand, like how tightly she wants to hold on to her facade. she wants to hold onto In being her loyal friend so that once again she gets Wang to herself. so that once again she isn't left behind. i love how the turning happens in sync. the story flows this well because of how many of these details have been choreographed. I love that they're able to hold the scene for the right amount of time, enough to drive in the intent without getting too long. it really amps up the tension.

thoughts on each of the characters’ development/ changes over the seasons?
Oh boy, I have a lot to say about this one. I think Mac has seen the most changes to his character and I’ve been pretty vocal about kinda being conflicted on his recent characterization. One of my main issues with it is that he hasn’t been as immoral as he was in earlier seasons(which is something I kinda see in all the characters but I’ll get into that later). Mac I think has fallen victim to being characterized by his feelings for Dennis at times which sucks because now a lot of his plots don’t revolve around him as a person but rather his feelings for another character/his attraction to men in general like now that he has came out they don’t know what to do with him. I mostly just wish they would remember that just because a character is gay or has a heartfelt moment doesn’t mean he has to stop being a seedy, terrible, person!! I know parts of it are intentional and supposed to satire Macs belief he has to be characterized by one thing because he is trying to find out his purpose now that he knows he’s gay , but I also think they have kinda just focused too much on his whole finding his identity or “thing” arc? Like I think him discovering his identity is important but also I think important other parts of his identity have been completely overlooked recently. I also feel like Mac putting anyone before him would have been out of character in earlier seasons even if he was in love with them!! It was kinda the whole point of the gang that the were selfish and always put themselves over everyone including other members of the gang. When they are taken hostage by the Mcpoyles they alI go against each other because, despite the fact that they are all very close, they value their own lives more than anyone else’s to a comical degree. With Dennis my feelings are a bit more complex, while I think making him outwardly constantly angry at Mac often bordering on cruel is out of character, it’s usually in response to Macs equally out of character treatment of Dennis if that makes sense? I think if they plan on making Dennis have repressed feelings for Mac then his characterization from the past couple seasons works, but if not then I don’t think it would make sense for the same Dennis who couldn’t go a day without texting or talking to Mac would act the way he has recently without it being under the guise of some sort of underlying emotions. With the gang in general the show has kinda as of recent seasons done this thing where the characters are simultaneously getting better and worse. We haven’t seen them ruin someone’s life or do a scheme that revolves around one of them or someone else getting seriously injured or just their general lack of care for anyone but themselves nearly as often as we did in earlier seasons . It’s like they want to reflect the characters lack of morality but aren’t working it into the story the same way they used to imo. Overall I still love the characters, I think there has been very minimal change in characterization of Dee, Charlie, and Frank (when there is differences in Frank or Charlie I think they are nonsensical characters enough that it often just plays as them being their “weird” selves and still works) and honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if most of the things I listed were somehow intentional because I do really think rcg and the always sunny writers usually know what they are doing (or at least I hope they do lmao) and I just hope that season 16 gives us some evil Mac and Mac and Dennis genuinely enjoying each others company again!

Haikyuu Touch The Dream Game Transations
Hi!!! I’ve recently got Haikyuu Touch the Dream (currently only available in Japan and Korea rn) and I've been translating the game to practice my Japanese skills and wanted to share my translations for anyone else playing the game.
My translations are done from using a mazii translate/dictionary,google image translate, Jisho, and my own Japanese knowledge so translation will not be 100% accurate
START SCREEN
I’m missing some screenshots of the beginning, but usually the popups when you first get/open the game is just about downloading an update.
Tumblr media
On the start screen there are 2 yellow buttons in the bottom right corner. Data Transfer (引継ぎ(ひきつぎ)) and notification (お知らせ(おしらせ). Notification leads to the news bulletin board (I'll get into that later) There can also be a 3rd blue button in the top left that allows you to re-watch the intro story cutscene.
Data Transfer (引継ぎ(ひきつぎ))
Tumblr media
I believe if you don't have an account this is where you can first log in (I made an account a long while ago before I fully started playing so I cant remember x.x) Sign in with Google/Apple
Tumblr media
Japanese: 連携しているアカウントがありませんデータは消失します続けますか? English: There is no linked account. Your data will be lost. Do you want to contiune. Code
Tumblr media
Japanese: 引継ぎコードを入力してください
English: Please enter the transfer code

Sometimes I feel like I write really... simple? Which isn't a bad thing. Just sometimes rereading my stuff feels like I'm reading a fairy tale (ignoring the actual Faerie Stories I write galore lol)
#rant#mejo writing#like. i get it? part of it is i lean toward simpler words because i want as MANY people to understand what i mean as possible#and im used to tutoring a lot of people of varying vocabulary and the simpler more understandable words the BETTER when#trying to teach math frankly. and then also when i speak in french or chinese i likewise lean toward more common words#since im more certain im expressing myself in the way i intend. whereas if i use specialized chinese words theres a higher risk i say#something i didnt mean. and in general i just notice a lot of things i got used to in french grammar i...#oddly ended up integrating into how i write english. which is absolutely bizarre to me. and tjen since reading more chinesr#ive really adapted to more SHORT sentences just focusing on making my point.#and then of course. my biggest style influences are haruki murakami and edgar allan poe.#i dont pick as perfect words as poe (unfortunately). but i like the idea of prose written as if its poetry. with thought put into#the length of sentences and SINGLE WORDS as sentences. and cut off sentences. and alliteration. to control#the reader experience and affect the impact of the prose on the emotions.#and then murakami lol. murakami??? my favorite short story he wrote is The Kangaroo Communique#which i think explains a LOT about why the fuck i write the way i do#have you ever read his stories in The Elephant Vanishes???#its like this... the ideas and words and settings are ordinary. but the experience is emotional and surreal and magical and it swallows you#inside the narrator's head.#and you truly have no idea what objective reality in the story is. only what the character narrating is Claiming to experience (and they#might be lying about themselves and whete their attention is too).#and i LOVE it. i love it i love it. it FEELS like being in my mind. so i try to write that way.#and i almost feel like when the prose is simpler words... its more like how a general person may think things#(at least how i do. with simple understandable explanation) and so its easier to suck the reader into the#narration pov's mind#and get them to feel what the character feels and notice what the charqcter avoids. and feel reality of the story#becoming as warped and unreliable as the narrator.

i am deeply enjoying the app Polygloss to facilitate Languaging however the one thing I am NOT enjoying is that you have to mark every correction as helpful. I don't think that was helpful. I duly accept your feedback and am not choosing to apply it going forward

I don’t have a very strong accent so I’ve been used to southern English folk saying, often in surprise, that I don’t sound Scottish (haha) or that I sound posh.
HOWEVER I’ve also heard them claim that they still don’t understand me and while I could interpret that as people with a lazy ear being rude, or perhaps they have a few understandable auditory processing issues (look comprehending speech is DIFFICULT, I struggle with it myself though not usually because of the speaker’s accent, just the speed at which you’re expected to consume ideas). However I’ve come to another conclusion lately- it might also be the grammar.
Apparently saying ‘I’ll not be a minute’ to some people is just as unintelligible as the deepest Doric and I really think we need to have a better appreciation for the quiet Scotticisms as much as the loud ones.

telling someone who doesn't do classics at all about what I'm writing about catullus and then having then be genuinely interested and want to read him is hard because then I have to backtrack a little real quick and be like. okay let's have a little disclaimer and discussion of context first. let's get a more general feel for this guy & the state of ancient rome. because otherwise they're just going to pick up this book totally blind & turn the page & read the most foul thing they've ever read with no context to it and then what will they think of me.
