CHAPTER 34 HAS ME RUNNING IN CIRCLES CLAWING AT THE WALLS LOSING MY MIND,,, HELLO?? HELLO??? naoya just absolutely losing his mind writhing in emotional pain,, incredible stuff i agree w the staff. it is exactly like a car crash and i can not take my eyes away. hes so cringefail mariya. girlbossing standing in between the two of them... very strong of her. i talk a lot of shit abt naoya but i hate conflict and i'd probably start shaking and crying if i had to deal with him so mariya being able to just put herself right in the middle of all that and act totally normal about it is VERY impressive. props to y/n too for acting so normally too-- either that or naoyas just extremely oblivious to body language and emotional cues and doesn't notice them freaking the fuck out. 50/50

naoya detective arc,,,, it would be charming of him if he weren't so deranged. in fact its KINDA terrifying how incredibly focused and driven he was to figure everything out no matter how far back he had to trace it. like-- it'd be INSANELY hard to hide anything from him unless absolutely everyone involved in it was able to be IN on it and know how to keep up a lie to him. kinda fucked!

tho on the detective arc part-- it makes perfect sense for HIS deranged ass to immediately jump to the worst conclusion that y/n lied to him, despite the fact i imagine its still possible the package could've been stolen from inside the estate by one of the staff? as in, the worker got the wolf stamp, but it could've been jumbled up or stolen after entering the estate. not like he's thinking that far ahead tho,,,

FINALLY he sees her w naoaki and we get a whole-ass confrontation-- im going NUTS here this was SO intense. naoya's arc here plays on one of my FAVORITE villain tropes, the 'villain who genuinely doesn't realize he's done anything wrong'. those are always so good but rarely do we get the moments of said villain realizing how badly he's fucked up im SO excited for how this is going

the way naoya is genuinely sure he's not done anything wrong and doesn't realize how badly he's hurt her vs. naoaki thinking he's just pretending to be oblivious to get out of consequences- DELICIOUS STUFF. naoaki pulling the "because you *love* her?" in whats probably intended to be a mocking way and then realizing "oh shit. he does actually. oh this is a fucking mess isn't it" and feeling kind of guilty about it... is it weird i want them to make up at some point too in all of this? god knows naoya needs some fucking friends (besides ranta)

the dream sequence part KILLED me i genuinely believed up until maybe midway through this was real. naoaki getting woken up in the middle of the night to naoya slamming into his room demanding to know where y/n is-- i NEED to know what he thought in that moment he mustve thought naoya's gone fucking insane esp when he just LEAVES right after without explaining anything

and then y/n probably thought she was gonna fucking die when he just showed up out of nowhere. actual jumpscare moment. also her being intrigued by just how disheveled and awful he looks? me too.

Ahem, anyways... 🤭 I'm glad you liked this chapter!!! This has to be up there, in my top 10 moments of the story (we still have others though... but yeah, still up there) and the one I was dying to write for the longest. I don't know if it was enough "punishment" for Naoya, but it's good to see him be reminded of his stupidity :)

His downfall is something that I think many were expecting tbh, or at least see him get kicked down a notch lol He was out there thinking himself to be the king of the hill for far too long, someone had to remind him he’s not that special 😂

I’m pretty sure the staff’s perception of Y/N changed drastically once again, into a more positive I mean. They’re out there admiring how she was able to do what many couldn’t and can’t help but wonder if she has the potential to ruin the Zen’in if she wanted to—of course, that stops when Naobito is added into the equation, but they still like to daydream about it haha.

Mariya is a character I would consider 100% fed up with Naoya’s (or just about anyone from the clan) shenanigans, so that makes it easier for her to stand up to him, although I’m sure she’s still intimidated by him. Thankfully her extensive knowledge of how everything works around the estate helps her out in these situations, it’s kind of like a… “gray area” for her to exploit—something she can use if she ever gets in trouble with Junko or Meiko for example, she can easily say “I was just doing what was requested of me” and they’d be like “unnnghhhh I guess!!”

Besides, she has job security in the sense that Meiko considers her to be the best worker there (after her, obviously lmao) so she wouldn’t dare lose the order Mariya provides; because she’ll whine and cry about it, enough for Naobito to intervene, making him wonder why she was fired, forcing Meiko to say “well, because Naoya–“ and yeah, I don’t think anyone to be in that situation hahaha so she’s safe.

I’d say Naoya is greatly oblivious to body language when it comes to… socializing? Cause he’s great when it comes to analyzing targets in a jujutsu environment, but even then, I think he’d still be somewhat bad compared to others 😂 he's the kind of person that believes brute force overrules everything else, so he shouldn't worry about those menial details. (Kind of like Endeavor from MHA? Like he's a great hero, but in the sense of crime fighting, he didn't really care about making a fan base or anything else really... OUTSIDE OF SHOTO OF COURSE)

And because Y/N has always been “coy” when he’s around, he doesn’t think much of it outside of being normal behavior from her, so yeah, he didn't get any sense of "something's going on" when she acted the way she did.

Naoya being derange isn’t a surprise to anyone at this point 😭 I’m telling you, he does things that under any normal context it would’ve been sweet, but since he’s… him, it’s not lmao. I can’t imagine how terrified Y/N was upon hearing he went all the way down to the post office just to find out what happened with his gift. He’s determined, that’s for sure, and it makes her wonder what other things he's done already—although at that moment, at the same time she was hoping she’d be able to escape this situation… well, alive, she was mostly worried that her letters might be uncovered too. Thankfully Naoya was focused on something else 💀

And yep, the way he jumped into conclusions was eerie, but I think it was because deep inside him, he knew that was what actually happened. He had enough of bad history with his wife to know that she, more likely than not, discarded his gifts. Did he ever wonder why? No. Would he dare to ask? I don’t think so. And even if he did, would he understand? I think he’d feel offended if anything, more so when Naoaki’s gestures had been happily received. Oof.

Maybe if he wasn’t so paranoid (or heart broken, let’s be real) he might’ve considered someone else from the staff, leading him into another wild goose chase; good, this is revenge for what he put Hinata through.

I’m glad you liked the confrontation!!! It was above everything, awkward, cause there’s no actual confrontation coming from Naoya if that makes sense? Like he’s not open to actual conversations, he just wants to know the why of certain things, and if it fits his ideals, good, if not, God help us.

I definitely believe Naoaki thinks Naoya is so… “isolated” from the real world that he might actually, genuinely not know what he’s doing—can’t blame him, he had Naobito and the rest of the family as guidance lol—but his inability to even consider other possibilities is what always frustrates him 😂 poor Naoaki, he can’t go on with his life without being constantly disappointed by his relatives. (Have Mai and Maki disappointed him too? I wonder...)

My favorite part, and I’ll never stop talking about it hahahah, was when he asked Naoya if he “loved” Y/N aughagaga DAMN the skepticism was there 100% for sureeeeeeeeee, he was hoping to hear his brother say something like “yeah, I do” so he could be like “bullshit!” and continue to take out his frustrations, but the way Naoya remained quiet, looking away almost as if embarrassed!!! Now that’s when he knew there were feelings for her—beneath the complicated layers that make him a monster, Naoya was still capable of harboring sentiments for someone else (Allegedly… all allegedly…) and Naoaki immediately felt bad for putting him on the spot like that. He still cares for his baby brother after all 😭😭😭

I certainly feel bad that their relationship turned into this—I can only wonder what occurred on the manga for Naoya to want them (more) dead lol. If he’s already unhinged at 19, imagine at 27 💀 Ah, but one can dream….

AHAHAHAH Him just spacing out immediately after Y/N said that is, ugh idk satisfying and sad at the same time—like sure I feel sorry that his wife was like “no, you don’t care” and I could’ve had her say something like “ewww” but Y/N isn’t that disrespectful; and come on what was Naoya expecting 😂?? For her to be like “omg I’m so sorry Naoya I should’ve known” please!!! She was appropriate enough to state the truth, that he doesn’t care for anyone but himself, he should’ve just taken it and left them (which he did: I imagine he remained quiet, spacing out as he stared at the two before turning around and disappearing into the hallways. Naoaki and Y/N look at each other, wondering what happened before wondering if he’s going to return. Naoaki tells her no, but that she should be careful nonetheless. Y/N goes with Mariya, tells her staff what went down and collectively decide to keep a low profile—Hitomi offers to keep a lookout on Naoya, only stopping when she overheard that he was in his room and has been for the past few hours. They go on with their day, or attempt to, and that’s when Mariya decides to let them know of her secret hideout)

To irritate Ren, I decided that the song that best fits this scene is this one. And just for a little, tiny part before the chorus and Mel B's part hahahahha. That's the only thing that actually applies to their whole dilemma at this point.

Now, the good part… The dream sequence was the one thing I’ve been wanting to show you for a while now hahah I just kept teasing you about it, and I’m glad it got the reaction it did hahahahhahahhhahahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

I was 99.9999% sure that most of my readers would immediately catch on to the fact that this was a dream, since I’ve never portrayed Y/N to be that crazy, you know? Like her making fun of Naoya is off the table completely; sure, she’s made some jokes here and there, but they’re always lighthearted—or at least I think that’s the impression one gets when reading them—never off the rails as this dream sequence 💀 leave that to Naohiko lol.

Either way, I tried my best to cover the fact it was a dream, and if someone saw right through it, it still served to show just how messed up Naoya is on an emotional at this moment.

But yeah, this nightmare worked really well ‘cause there was that lingering question of whether Naoaki and Y/N were finally going to do something more… intimate. I feel that if I hadn’t worked their relationship up to that point it would’ve easily been like “nah, this is a dream goodbye” 😈 glad it worked in the end hahahah!!!

Now that it’s mentioned, the scene where Naoaki is disrupted by Naoya is ironically funny—it was so out of the blue first he was like “I sleep” and then Naoya comes into his room to ask the most random question before leaving.

Naoaki for sure thought he made it up—he was worried for Y/N and overworked by all his duties that he was like “Man, I’m even starting to dream about Naoya wtf??” his slumber overtook him almost immediately after; had he not been that exhausted you can be 100% certain he would’ve gone after Naoya.

And I agree—Y/N for sure thought she was going to die at that moment, although it was a fear that quieted down a bit for the sake of her staff’s wellbeing… yet, the thing that surprised her the most was to see Naoya so… disturbed—he’d seen him angry, arrogant, a complete monster… but she’d never seen him so defeated. So yeah, I think she believed she was going to die, but more in a sense of shock of not knowing what the hell was going on.

Now, for your last question… Naoya desperately wanted to keep her there above anything else, but his broken heart also wanted to tell her that he did care for her, at least to some extent, if not then why would he have married her? A mystery for sure. If I had to boil it down to a singular reason, it was him wanting to tell her how much he wants to be with her. Happily, be with her.

(No one heard Naoya cry, outside of Y/N retreating as quickly as possible, I envision him to be a silent crier in a way, not wanting anyone to hear him out of fear of being reprimanded more than shame—Naobito as a father must’ve been really, really tough. And if anyone did hear him, they would’ve never thought it was him to begin with.)

The problem is that Thor has been careful—or accidental—not to use a pronoun to describe the person he’s seeing and while “queen” is merely a term to describe Thor’s future spouse, be they man, woman, or any of the other thousand genders across the universe, Odin assumes that Thor must have been referring to the red-headed woman he walks beside as they enter the throne room, eagerly telling her about the wonders of Asgard.

“If he were going to choose a Midgardian, couldn’t he have at least chosen their leader?” Odin grumbles, missing the way Thor’s entire team pauses.

Frigga bites back a wince. Her husband has grown complacent in his diplomacy during his centuries as king but she hadn’t thought he would say something like that.

“Odin,” she says softly, trying to warn him off, but he just frowns.

“She isn’t worthy of him,” he hisses and that at least goes unheard by all except Thor and the one in the spangled uniform judging by how they wince. “She’ll die before he is ready.”

“You don’t know that she is his chosen one,” she murmurs back.

Odin gives the others a dismissive look. “Who else would he choose?”

She isn’t really that surprised when Thor doesn’t introduce them to his queen during that first meeting.

She goes to Thor’s room later that night, after the feast, after Natasha and Clint have thoroughly trounced all but Sif and the Warriors Three and Tony has gotten himself set up in the forges, to find him sitting on the edge of the bed, holding a watch.

“It was a gift,” he tells her as she sits beside him. “From Tony. It turns into a robot.”

Frigga has her suspicions then but she doesn’t share them with him. It is Thor’s decision when he wants to tell her who he is courting and she won’t ruin that for him. “I’m sorry about what your father said,” she says quietly.

“He’s hurt,” Thor says simply. “He doesn’t think highly of himself at the best of times and Father’s words hurt him. I don’t believe he’s ever thought he deserves me. What Father said confirmed it in his mind.”

“No one deserves another.”

Thor chuckles sadly. “Try telling him that.”

“I will once you introduce me.” She smiles to tell him that she won’t hold it against him if he decides not to and true to her expectations, Thor shakes his head.

“Soon,” he promises. “But not right now.”

In the coming weeks, she sees her son divide his time amongst his teammates: with Clint on the ranges, with Natasha and Steve on the training grounds, with Bruce in the libraries. But if she wants to find him, she goes to the forge first because he can nearly always be found with Tony. The suspicion grows in her mind into a near-certain fact but she waits still for his confirmation.

And then she stumbles across them.

It’s late at night, nearly a month after her son has returned home, and she intends on asking him if he plans to visit his brother during his stay. Thor isn’t in his room so Frigga goes down to the forges though she isn’t sure why he would be there at such a late hour. Their blacksmiths tell her though that Tony spends most of the night there, sleeping only rarely, and so she expects that there’s a chance Thor is there too.

She hears them as she draws closer, murmured voices only barely audible above the noises of the fires .

“—you don’t like it,” Thor says softly, sadly.

“I do,” Tony reassures him. “Darling, your world is incredible and your use of language to describe concepts… Do you know, just yesterday, I was talking to one of your healers and they used the term ‘soul forge’ to describe what we would call a ‘quantum field generator.’ I couldn’t believe it; it’s amazing.”

“But you’re not happy.”

Tony hesitates and then he admits, “I wanted your father to like me.”

“My father doesn’t like anyone.”

“That doesn’t make me feel better.”

Thor sighs heavily. “Beloved, I wish I could tell you that it will all work out—”

“But you can’t, I know.” Tony doesn’t really sound upset, just disappointed, and Frigga’s heart breaks just a little.

“I’m sure my mother will love you,” Thor offers.

Tony laughs. “Your mother seems like she would love anyone as long as they loved you.”

“And do you?”

She can hear the smile in Tony’s voice when he says, “You know I do.”

“Tell me again anyway.”

There’s the sound of a soft kiss and then Tony says, “I love you.”

“I love you too.” Another kiss. “Are you coming to bed soon?”

“In an hour or so. I want to get this last piece finished. Thank you, by the way, for letting me use the forges. I need something like this in the workshop. Can you imagine what I’d be able to get done?”

“I’d never see you again,” Thor says with a light chuckle. “I’m going back to the palace.”

“Hmm, see you in a bit.”

Frigga doesn’t bother hiding when Thor steps out of the forge. He raises his eyebrows at her, silently asking her for her opinion. She wonders if he’s silent because he doesn’t want Tony to know that she’s there. She smiles reassuringly and nods. Tony had put it best: as long as her son is loved, she’s happy.

And Thor is definitely, decidedly loved.

Hey Cat!! I hope you're doing well as always ! 💖 AHHHH huhu I closed the form last Sunday since I've collected enough responses dy! (NOOOOOOOO ToT) I got a total of 221 responses at the end of the week, which is 3x the amount I initially needed! :o I'm beyond grateful and appreciative ToT I've cleaned the data and have proceeded to run some data analysis, but I ran into an issue whereby the scores on the subscales are equal (it has never been reported in past studies! :O) so I'm waiting for my supervisor's feedback on how to proceed. Hopefully it's nothing too serious ToT

Hehe finance is interesting indeed! I just started reading a book on finance for young adults (Rich Dad Poor Dad) and I look forward to learning more from the author's tips! The Coursera introductory course has also made financial terms a lil more familiar, even though it's just the basics and it's really helped w my financial literacy 🥺 I can push myself to study but it's also the numbers and calculations I'm worried of cuz I am rly a nong (idiot) when it comes to numbers * - * it runs in the genes I guess AHAHAHAHA my mom and sister aren't good at numbers either keke

After debating for a while, I've decided not to take a minor mainly because I'm so tired HAHAHAHAHAHA and I'll just do my own self-studying and exploration whilst working! Go out and explore the world, live life! Whilst ironically still staying in my room because of the COVID-19 situation in our country (cases are abt 20+k every day :') ) My proposal has been finalized and it's been accepted! It's just that some elements of my proposal is also part of my actual report, so I have some guidance to refer to in terms of structure! :3 and yes don't worry! I got plenty (sometimes a lil too much) rest during the sem break whilst remaining productive! Plus, I got to catch up w some friends and had game nights (maybe too much of game nights hehe) and movie nights w my friends which was truly refreshing! Also cuz I might not see a lot of them again after we graduate so we gotta cherish every moment 🥺😭

She said it's fine to take it every month to keep my womb healthy and apparently my ms. lil uterus is suffering from inflammation, hence the super crazy bedridden cramps :( the upgraded medicine worked for a while, but after time it kinda didn't help either :/ but I realised that exercise rly does wonders to reduce the cramp too (gynae also recommended exercising) so i take walks and do my back stretches more frequently now! my period in the previous months (2 months ago) have been almost painless and bearable, it's so weird not seeing my bedridden ._. when I was in high school, there would always be a day in every month in which I don't attend classes, and that's solely because of my cramps. It just isn't worth suffering in school, plus we don't have a sick room :/ I hope the pain continues to subside! ToT

And ayy internship is also working experience, yr advice would be of great help to me regardless! 🥺 oh yes, I always remind myself that interviews are similar to the speaking test I took for my Cambridge English exams! That kinda help calm my nerves down a lil, but w nerves comes bigger smiles, so I guess it takes on a rather practical form of coping mechanism (sublimation) AHAHAHAHA

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL YOUR KIND COMPLIMENTS 😭😭💗💗 there were many late hours spent in the art studio to finish them, but i'm really happy with the end products :') i thought light bulbs are an interesting subject to do, and my prof said that cutting out circular objects or sculpting them is the most difficult since they're made up curves and not straight lines and i was like ok bet i'm gonna do it aND I'M SO GLAD I DID BECAUSE I REALLY LIKE THEM 🥺 and i love honey bees !!! that's why i decided to paint them and we were supposed to paint them in a combined style of two artists so i tried monet's impressionist style with the short brush strokes and pop art triptych style like marjorie strider 💕

aaaa yes i did !! i was really surprised that i got an offer from them all because at the time, i was not in the right major and i think i was one of the most underqualified applicants 🤧 one person who interviewed me asked why i withdrew from my engr physics class and i explained it in a kinda funny way but in my head, i was like "oof i'm not gonna get this offer anymore" but then he laughed at my response and told me about how his prof told him he should drop a guitar class he was taking because he was doing very poorly and we bonded over that aklsjdhfkals omg how do interviews for psych jobs go? do you have to discuss a lot of case studies? do they give you a list of possible case studies they'll ask about? :o what sort of assessments do you have to do? good luck on all of your interviews, honey bee 💛 i'm rooting for you, you're gonna do amazing !!!! 💘

the first half of this game is what i like to call the walking similator. also all the PLAYER CHOICE is voided in this and so this is through the lens of ONE ROUTE

It starts with Nahan awaking You from their room, Nahan being the castle gardener whos tasked with delivering messages. She takes You out of the room and helps them walk and see and talk, as in game You can only do things theyre taught as they never learned anything.

Getting guided down the halls, other citizens heard of the coming of the child and start tailing Nahan and You in glee, but Nahan does not want ANYBODY to speak to You. She takes You up an elevator and to The Lords Room, opening up to a figure in bed against the light of four stained glass windows in the dark room.

Konsanus, gravely ill in her bed, tells You that they must find their mother Disonus and return her to the castle. If they cant find her, they should not return, and Nahan escorts You out of the room with nothing more. In the garden that leads to the doors to the innercity, Nahan tells You that they cant let ANYBODY know who they are or their task, or they might never live another day. Nobody outside the castle walls knows that the child has been released, and they need to be quick. With sadness, she lets You go, and locks the door behind them.

The Innercity is a fine place and You follows the path to the grand wall. Theres lights and decorations up for the season, but nobody is really about.

When they reach the wall with no door, a few guards come upon them and ask their business this close to the wall. Assuming You wishes to defect, they tell them that theyll never be able to return if they wish to leave Konsanus' rule, and are pushed through the wall into the outside world aggressively.

immediately You meets two people hanging outside the wall, a deer named Deeric and his anxious dog....cat... thing.... friend Omni. Deeric acts like an asshole and Omni is anxiously trying to get Deeric to stop. Omni eventually tells You that to get to the city they just need to walk directly south from the hills, and offers to hang out with them if they meet again.

You walks the northern hills, and meets Festus! Hes on a trip for his mother, but hes mostly playing around as he wasnt suppose to cross the city too far North. He walks with You and asks all about them, but You doesnt know anything about themself. Festus thinks thats just fine, and that they should hang out when they go home, assuming You lives in the Valley like him, before running to finish his errand.

The first era You comes upon is the city dump, where they then meet another set of friends; Dante and Curve, who are roughousing in the garbage. Dante immediately offers to fight You, and You tries escaping but Dante wants to fight; he gets a decent swing on You, but when they dont retaliate, Dante realizes they never learned the FIGHT/FUN system and becomes embarassed. Curve beats the shit out of him and helps You up. There, Curve explains what that is abd that the kids in the island have created a fair fight system that everybody follows that ensure they can roughhouse without the fear of dying. You thus learns the system this way!

After some plot banter stuff, You investigates the Cemetery behind the dump, and meets the Graveyard Kids abd Sprite_Deadchild. Sprite_Deadchild offers to help them navigate the City if theyre scared, and joins You's party to help them "find their mama."

You then enters into the city, and shuffles around the place. They come upon a scene in an alley backed to an apartment complex where a catgirl is crying, and they meet The Ferals: Alley, a catgirl in love with a housecat in the apartment; Mama, queen if the feral colony and big bully; and her boyfriend Socks, a loveable blind cat who fetches food for the rest of them.

You and Sprite_Deadchild offer to help, and go upstairs to meet the housecat, only to learn her name is Nem, shes not a catgirl but dresses up as one because she wants to be one and feels bad for accidently catching a real catgirls feelings and doesnt know how to let them down easy. Eventually they go through enough shenanigans and everyone lives happily ever after, but within the mess they meet another apartment dweller named Lilly....

You briefly meets Lilly and enters her room while Sprite_Deadchild waits outside, and Lilly admits that she knows who You is. However, shes no help in You's journey, as shes barely left her apartment room in 13 years, and is horribly scared of the world outside and what could happen to her. You parts with a bit of knowledge from her that the Southern Fjallo area, past the mountains, is a good hiding place for many because the mountains are treacherous to pass through, so people rarely do it anymore.

You explores the city a little more, and Sprite_Deadchild tells them theyll meet them on the other side of the mountain as they "gotta go home", and leaves You alone. You ends up meeting Curve and Dante again, as theyre picking a fight with the Party Fowl duo, with Festus caught in the mix.

They eventually break up, and the Party Fowl tell You they have to get Festus home across the mountains; when asked how they do that, they explain Festus as a goat can climb the terrain and they just piggyback off him. You asks of they can get a ride, and the Party Fowls bestow bringing Festus home to them, with Festus excited to have " a friend over for dinner!!!"

They make the rocky climb and over to the Fjallo Valley, where Amare is waiting for her child. LIVID over seeing Festus with a stranger Amare promptly threatens You with her knives and sees them as a dangerous threat, but Festus attempts to tell her that theyre a new friend!!! Hesitantly Amare de-arms, and "invites them" to dinner. You says they have to go look for their mother first, and leave Amare and Festus to head off.

There in the Valley they meet the Masked Revolutionary, who says she is the protector of the South end, just as Curve is the protector of the North end. She comes in when You is jumped by some random teenage boys looking for a fight, and her weapon style is two metal bars she clings to subdue someone without killing them. You asks if she can help them find someone, but the masked revolutionary quickly dismisses You and hurries off.

You eventually returns to Amare's house and is let in. Festus is taking his nap and Amare is cooking a stew, abd tells You to go upstairs, wash up, and call down Festus. You does, but when they look for Festus' room they find Amare's instead, and You can/does find a book in her shelves that seemed handwritten; its her account of her fleeing to the island, after her husband killed their daughter and injured Amare during their attempt to flee the unstable household with Festus. Amare catches them reading her book, and reluctantly tells the child that is why shes so protective of Festus and scared, but "a child doesnt need to take the burden of adult matters".

in return for knowing, You tells Amare how theyre looking for their mother, the queen Disonus, because their mother Konsanus told them to. Amare shows disgust towards Konsanus' actions, and tells You how they once knew Disonus, and how kind she is. She hints that she knows where Disonus is, but once again does not indulge in it too much because "its adult matters, that a child shouldnt care about", but hints shes being protected in the abandoned worshippers house.

Amare serves dinner, and very carefully she offers You to live with them if they never find Disonus and cant go home. You eats their dinner and takes a nap in their spare room, and Amare offers You a new set of clothes.

You eventually heads off, and Amare tells them to "come home to me" if they cant find her.

You heads off to the abandoned worshippers house, and meets The Masked Revolutionary. The Revolutionary talks about how she knows whats going on, and that she will not fall for such a trick. She can not see, abd every time You calls her mother she only gets more upset, saying that whoever "makes light of tge loss ive endured to antagonize me will not live to see day."

Disonus, now, removes her bar weapons, and instead pulls out the Sword of Mercy, the blade she stole; its the sword of mercy because its blade is so sharp it can decapitate you in one swing, and the "greatest mercy is death".

She attempts to fight You, and chases them, while You continousely attempts to get through to Disonus whats going on and that they really Are her child, not someone playing a trick on her.

Eventually You gets through to her by bringing up Amare, and Disonus slowly approaches You, sword lowered, wondering.... is this truly my child? You explains what Konsanus did and why she made them, and Disonus cries and hugs You. A living, healthy child in her arms, she cries and cries and holds You's face with a genuine love of a mother, and how they can return back to the castle-

But Disonus doesnt want to. She cant, shes terrified. Even with You, she fears the judgement thats taken their island into ruins for almost 20 years now, she fears she cant be a good Queen, she fears--- Konsanus. She REFUSES to return to the throne, and in that moment something happens.

Disonus begins to not look like Disonus. She begins to panic about returning to the throne, about the critics and her wife berating her and how she LIKES being this revolutionary guarding the valley, she cant go back to being mocked and hated---- recklessly she pulls out the sword, and before You can stop her, she guts herself with it

and breaks

and glitches

and the world freezes

and everything turns black

and something crawls, crawls out of the carcass of Disonus, something with bones for hands and a thousand faces and a thousand bodies, with a chorus of voices.

The church returns, and its body moves like its water, its hands breaking the pews and its body growing more incomprehensible.

You crawls from it under the seats abd around the room, terrified of it as it calls out for them.

In moments of panic You is back in that black room, and people come to visit them: Dante, saying he shouldve killed them when ge had the chance; Mama, saying that they need to stop meddling in peoples business; a chorus of Amares calling You a digging shrew piece of shit that will never feel love; You appearing before You to tell themself they are nothing but an empty husk.

And then someone else, with beautiful brown hair and a cloak like black, telling them: " Dont listen to him, he cant hurt you."

Another figure, dressed in a red vest: "Listen to me, dont let him into your head."

Another You: "Open your eyes, dont be scared."

You opens them.

The monster, the creature of a thousand faces, is not able to touch them, like theyre being restrained. They peak out of the chairs, and see three figures:

A clown, a rabbit, and a goat.

Maliia has the creature held by pink ropes tied to her hands, and Sarah is calling out to You. Stopper reminds Sarah;

" Were in the past, they dont know whats happening yet."

The monsters tries to grow abd scream and thrash but Maliia is holding on, and Sarah is trying to get You to come out; scared, they slowly crawl out from underneath the chairs. Sarah tells them they dont have much time, but that they need to do something.

Carefully, as the monster rips from its hold, Sarah hits You with her cane.

And You wakes up in Lilly's bed.
