Hey Sada! Hope you are well ❤️
Do you personally believe they are still together? I’ve seen so much discourse on this and I personally believe they are, but I think you are very wise on your opinions and would like to know what you think!
I was talking to @jaerie today about when Louis and Harry are going to disappear and raise the baby we just know is coming, if that answers your question about what I think about Harry and Louis being together 🤣
I haven’t seen any discourse you might be referring to but I really do live by the thing the wise and now gone Fluff said in relation to Louis and Harry being together “just because I haven’t been to or seen my favorite restaurant in awhile doesn’t mean I think it’s closed”
Aka I kinda just assume Harry and Louis are happily chugging along in their life together because I am of the belief they have a healthy, loving relationship and they are no longer at the point where they need to signal/showcase they are together as often as they have been 🤷🏼‍♀️

10.16: a certain doom
spoilers (both general and caryl) under the cut:
the episode iiiiiissss not super worth the six month wait (like in general, not vis a vis caryl)
it’s marginally more exciting than the penultimate episode
marginally
i think the problem is they utilized time poorly, so the attack on hilltop was Amazing, but then they accidentally forgot to make the end of the war suspenseful or interesting lol
that being said, it had its moments, so let’s break it down, shall we?
first off, caryl have a brief scene in the beginning in the stairwell where daryl is telling carol that michonne left, and he’s like “everybody leaves and then i never see them again :( “ and carol is like “...i haven’t left” and daryl goes “-sure jan-” and leaves carol looking like a hurt puppy bc she thinks he still hasn’t forgiven her/never really will, more on that later
lydia and carol have a scene where lydia is like:
Tumblr media
and carol was like “that’s cuz you should hate me and shouldn’t try and look to me for advice, go find your own way in life” and lydia says “k i’m not asking you to be my mom, i’m asking if we can be bros, but w/e, i’m sure this conversation isn’t foreshadowing to an event that will happen later”
more on that later
princess & crew broke their bikes so they were running late to the rendezvous, and eugene was about to give up, but zeke gave an empowering speech about Never Giving Up (which is kinda weird coming from a dude with cancer whose wife left him and whose son got murdered, but w/e, you get on with your optimistic self, zeke) and convinced him to carry on, more on that later
(here’s an exclusive sneak peek at the scene tho:)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
there’s a two hour long scene of our main peeps walking through the giant horde covered in guts, which would be more interesting if they didn’t do that all the time
beatrice got eaten which would have been more of a bummer if i remembered who beatrice was
it did get lydia involved in the fight tho, so that’s something
side note: negan gave lydia alpha’s mask as if it was supposed to be symbolic or something, instead of incredibly traumatizing to this little girl whose abusive mother just got her head chopped off, like couldn’t she have just put guts on like the other people? ok, my dude, way to be a surrogate father figure ig
while carol is still stuck in the horde daryl asks where carol is, which has been the majority of his lines this season
they try to lead the horde away by blasting talking heads, which is a little on the nose but entertaining nonetheless, but then carol had to go and say “protect the horses,” which is a guarantee that the horses will get eaten, bc it’s twd, so whomp whomp, they lose their apparently only plan for leading the horde away
(how have they not learned better by now?)
(better question: how are there any horses left??)
daryl has an unintentionally funny line where he’s like, “k so this is a super shitty idea, and i am aware of that, but let’s just go fucking kill all of the whisperers”
lydia then volunteers to go throw herself off a cliff to get rid of the horde, and daryl brushes her off, more on that later
anyway they go and just. kill all the whisperers ig? including beta? whose death took like two seconds and involved a brief flashback montage and was incredibly anticlimactic for how fucking badass he was (negan draws him away, daryl stabs him the eyes, which was kinda cool, and then he goes and stands in the middle of the horde and smiles wistfully while he’s eaten alive, like a normal person would do)
up at headquarters gabriel is about to get murdered by whisperers, but then maggie and her masked friend somehow make it past the entire horde and up the stairs in time to save him
sure
cut to lydia leading the entire horde to the cliff, but then carol jumps in and tells her to go and that she’ll do it, and is about to go for a fun tumble, BUT THEN lydia pulls her away and they have a brief argument about it
their whole plotline this episode is very:
Tumblr media
anyway
what follows is what’s meant to be a heartwarming scene between the two of them where they put aside all their baggage and hug each other and realize they’re stronger together than at odds, and objectively it’s a good scene, but i couldn’t stop laughing bc they kept showing the walkers falling off the cliff and it looked SO STUPID, it was hilarious
they just. literally kept just stepping off the cliff and falling like bricks askdfljs
and then lydia went and threw alpha’s mask off the cliff and that Did Not make it less funny
idk, i’m probably just a bad person, but it was super fucking funny, anyway
maggie reunited with judith, which was actually very sweet, esp when you remember that she delivered her (in the most traumatic way possible)
the caryl scene was nice. i had to watch it a couple times before i decided how nice, bc like everything else in the episode it felt kind of rushed, but essentially carol and lydia return, and daryl is standing in the exact position he was standing in “no sanctuary”, bc apparently that’s how he leans on trees, and carol approaches him super warily, and they both stare at each other, and carol asks him if he’s good, and he is visibly trying not to cry when he goes “yeah. it’s over. right?” and she says yes, and he asks her if she got what she wanted, and she says no, and he tells her she still has him, and she’s like “yeah?” while crying, bc, per earlier interaction, she was p sure she was never gonna get him back entirely, and he says yeah, and then they hug, and carol makes a little sob noise, and daryl buries his face in her shoulder and is teary, too, and then daryl brings up new mexico, and carol says “maybe someday” and daryl deffo looks disappointed but agrees, and then carol has her “we still have things to do, i’m clearly saying this as a set up for dramatic scenes that are about to follow” line
cue dramatic things following
connie is alive (we been knew), but is banged tf up, and runs into virgil. or more like collapses on the ground and virgil finds her and they stare blankly at each other until connie passes out
and then we jump back to princess & crew, who are sitting there bummed out bc stephanie isn’t there, and eugene is like, “bc of zeke’s wise words, i am Not Giving Up, we set out to find and recruit people (did they? i literally don’t remember) and so that’s what we’ll do!”
and it’s a Big Moment of Solidarity and Strength
for all of five seconds, bc they are then accosted by stormtroopers, who presumably work for commonwealth. whether or not commonwealth is building a death star is unclear at this time, but i suppose we’ll find out soon
cue end credits!
so overall: the episode occurred. it wasn’t like, devastatingly disappointing, in that the penultimate episode didn’t really set me up for any sort of big anticipation, and also i had spoilers ahead of time. i wish there had been more time for things like beta’s death to be played out properly, but i wonder also if they were limited on what they could do bc of pandemic shit and trying to get it edited as quickly as possible
as it stands, even tho the whisperers are my favorite twd villains, i’m glad they didn’t do what they did with the saviors and have it drag on for ten million years for no reason
the bottle episodes should be interesting, and prob will lead us into commonwealth, which, again, not sure on the status of the death star, but i’m excited to see what happens regardless
on the caryl front i’m about where i was before, which is fully anticipating canon coming, and my guess is the season will really heavily set up their departure, which means we will have many more scenes to come
the end
as usual, stay hype, stan kang, and get daryl to call carol sweetheart 2k20 (i still have three months left, i’m not giving up yet, zeke wouldn’t want me to),

loved reading all your acting thoughts! there's been some talk in fandom lately about how gallavich kisses have changed over the course of the last 2 seasons and seem a bit awkward and perfunctory at times even vs. earlier seasons where they seemed much more 'natural' for lack of a better word. wondered if you had also observed this and had thoughts on this from an acting perspective. it sounds like the show got an intimacy coordinator recently and part of me wonders if that led to the change since noel and cam clearly didnt have issues throwing themselves into those scenes previously. i'm also still trying to wrap my head around the hos bloopers kiss and how that would have fit in (scripted or improv) but that's probably a whole other can of worms. they clearly seem very comfortable with each other after having worked together for so long, which is wonderful! anyway, just love hearing you talk about acting and cam and noel :)
hey!
thanks for the question, it’s a super interesting one. so i discussed this quite a bit with @xgoldendays – because we discuss everything. so michelle feel free to add your take if you want to! <3
i’ve seen this conversation happen a lot on my various timelines in the last few days and honestly, kisses are kisses to me – idk maybe it’s because i’ve been watching the show for years and lived off the club kiss for an entire season, but the shift between kisses old vs new hasn’t really been significant enough to bother me. anyhow here’s my actor-y thoughts...
firstly, an intimacy coordinator isn’t going to be like ‘don’t shove your tongue down each other’s throat’ – an intimacy coordinator is there to make sure no one is being exploited or taken advantage of during intimate scenes. it’s very unlikely that their introduction in the crew had very little impact on the way cam and noel kiss each other in the scenes. what is more likely to have impacted the way that they kiss is the writing.
the club kiss, border kiss, docks kiss etc... are all born from moments that are very heightened. the stakes are HIGH, mickey and ian have things to say and things to lose with those kisses. noel and cam have a lot more to work with and sink their teeth into. we know as a fact that they improv-ed a lot of the docks scene – this naturally leads to more reactive and real responses. even in scenes where they’re not improv-ing, eg: the club kiss, the situation they’re in is so significant for both characters, so fuelled by the drama, that of course it’ll result in a passionate kiss. those moments are so much easier to ground yourself in as an actor. it’s okay for a silly horny kiss in an ambulance to be less. it’s okay for the good morning mr gallavich kitchen kiss to be less. those scenes are less. i understand why people would compare them, but it’s a little silly to me cause ian and mickey are in completely different places now. cam and noel are going to be interacting with those scenes differently now.
i go on about it quite a bit, but there’s no stakes in the writing anymore. they’re married now, they’re not leaving each other at the mexico border worried they won’t see each other ever again, it’s okay for a kiss to be boring or less than the ones that have come before it because the show is different now. ian and mickey are different people than they were. cam and noel will have a different experience filming those scenes – they’re not going to be filled with as much passion or drama. in the grand scheme of the dramatic story of ian and mickey, their scenes now are boring – and that’s okay! and for cam and noel they’re gonna be less exciting and interesting to film! their acting is still very much rooted in truth, but given the lack of stakes and significance of those kisses, things are gonna be different! it’s completely understandable to me that they seem different. they’re still clearly very comfortable with each other (you can tell that by the hos kiss) but, imo, it’s simply that the scenes have less behind them, therefore their kisses have less behind them. like, i’m sure if the show actually allowed a truly pivotal moment for them again (take the proposal kiss for example, we know there was a lot cut in the editing room and that was a moment in the last few seasons WITH higher stakes) things may be different.
in regards to the hos kiss – it’s up for your interpretation but i like thinking about it as just a silly extra gallavich kiss, rather than a moment of improv tacked onto the end of that episode. don’t think too hard about fitting it into the canon storyline, just let yourself enjoy it for what it was! <3
thanks for the question, it was a great one to ponder because i have actually been thinking about it a little.

i think you’ve done one before where ian and mickey run into trevor? but i’d love another one like that. or caleb. or kash. or literally anyone from the earlier seasons (could even be an old school mate who we don’t know!) and who has a shocked reaction that they are still together/married.
anon said:prompt: ian and mickey introducing each other as husbands at a group event scenario
so because i combined two prompts here, have two blasts from the past!! (though idk who’s gonna be happy to see caleb lmao hopefully the 2nd guest makes up for it) i hope u like it!!! :D
*
Mickey loosens his tie as he scans the room, idlywondering when exactly he’ll stop putting himself in uncomfortable socialsituations for Ian’s sake. Then again, Ian walking towards him in his fancyblazer with the top few buttons of his shirt undone and a bottle of beer ineither hand is a very particular fantasy he’s enjoying right now.
“How’re you holding up?” Ian asks, handing one of thebeers off to Mickey and sliding his free arm around Mickey’s waist. It’s prettyfucking ridiculous how quickly it makes Mickey relax but he figures he marriedIan for a reason.
When Ian had first told him about the benefit all theSouth Side emergency services were holding to raise money for a new hospitalwing Mickey had thought it sounded like his own personal version of hell. Buthe’d realised pretty quickly it was also Ian’s personal version of hell so he’dagreed to go.
Now that he’s here he’s gotta admit it’s not so bad.The charming, confident persona Ian used to wear back when he’d drag Mickey toafter-club parties back in the day seems come back to his husband easily enoughwith Ian flashing everyone hundred-watt smiles and schmoozing with thehigher-ups. There have been a few moments where Mickey’s felt uncomfortablestanding next to him but only because of his total lack of understanding aboutall the medical bullshit everyone is spewing rather than him actually feelinglike he’s being excluded from the conversation.
Plus, he can’t help the way he inwardly preens everytime Ian introduces him as his husband.
“’m surviving,” Mickey tells him, leaning into Ian’sside. “This place’s got good beer.”
“Its one saving grace,” Ian jokes, dropping a kiss onMickey’s temple. “Sorry, I know you’re probably bored. Just another hour or twoand we can hit the Alibi.”
The last thing Mickey wants to do is stay out evenlonger when Ian’s standing next to him looking like he does but he hums in acquiescenceanyway. Not like Ian’ll be complaining later on.
“It’s fine, man, I get it,” Mickey says, turning intoIan so they’re facing each other and putting his free hand on Ian’s hip. “You’restill on probation and it’s a fuckin’ miracle your old job even took you back. You need to stay here and act like employee of the month – I know the deal.”
Ian’s beaming at him by the time he’s finishedtalking and Mickey clears his throat, aware his ears are probably turning red.
“You’re the best,” Ian tells him, the words half lostto Mickey’s mouth as he darts in to kiss him.
“Yeah, yeah,” Mickey huffs when he pulls away, tryingnot to act as flustered as he feels. “You can show me how much you appreciateme later.”
Ian’s smile turns devilish and he uses the arm aroundMickey’s waist to draw him in closer. “Oh, I plan to.”
Mickey’s just about to incite a game of chicken whenIan suddenly freezes and Mickey raises his gaze from Ian’s mouth to his eyes.Turning to look over his shoulder he attempts to follow Ian’s gaze but there’stoo many unrecognisable faces around for him to tell who Ian’s looking at.
“What’s wrong?” he asks, squeezing Ian’s hip to gethis attention.
Ian blinks, looking back to Mickey with an expressionthat’s some weird mix of panicked, apologetic and determined. “My ex is overthere.”
Mickey whips around again to look before he remembershe has no clue what Ian’s ex even looks like. “The firefighter?” he guesses.
Ian nods, offering him a tight smile. “Caleb,” hesays. “It’s fine, I don’t think he saw me.”
Which is probably the stupidest fucking thing Iancould’ve said because, of course, five seconds later someone’s calling out adisbelieving, “Ian Gallagher?”
Ian plasters a fake smile on his face and Mickeytakes a moment to pray for patience before he turns around to eye up the guymaking his way towards them. He’s attractive, in that clean-cut all-American way.He looks like the very definition of normal which Mickey knows just translatesto boring in Ian’s brain.
Ian had told him a little about him when they’dtalked shit through in prison. Said he’d been Ian’s attempt at a “normal”relationship that didn’t require all that much emotional effort because he’dpretty much been trying to haul himself out of a depressive episode when they’dmet. He’d also admitted he’d been trying to shove Mickey out of his mind at thetime which had hurt but he gets it, he thinks. God knows, he’d tried to drinkIan away in Mexico. It doesn’t hurt all that much now with Ian’s arm around himand Ian’s ring on his finger.
“Hey Caleb,” Ian greets half-heartedly when Calebreaches them and Mickey takes a drink of his beer to hide his laugh. It’s astark contrast to the enthusiastic friendliness Ian’s been sporting all night.
“How’ve you been?” Caleb asks, all earnestness thatMickey doesn’t trust for a second. “It’s been what? Nearly four years?”
“Yeah, I guess about that,” Ian agrees, voicecompletely neutral. “I’ve been good. I’m-“ he pauses and looks down at Mickeywith a smile that makes his knees weak. “Well, I’m married now,” Ian  says proudly, arm tightening around Mickey. “Thisis my husband, Mickey.”
Caleb’s mouth drops open in shock as his eyes flashto Mickey and Mickey immediately feels himself puffing up his chest. He’s readyfor whatever bullshit this fucker tries to throw at him.
“Wow,” Caleb splutters after a beat. “Congratulations.I- you’re his ex, Mickey, right?”
Mickey clears his throat and rubs at his eyebrow, pointedly using his left hand so he can show off his rings. “Not exactly his exanymore.”
“Right!” Caleb says quickly. “Sorry. You get what Imean, just- you two were broken up before.”
“Yeah, almost the biggest fucking mistake of my life,”Ian cuts in and he’s over-exaggerating a little for Caleb’s sake but Mickey canstill tell he means it. “No way am I letting him go again.” He directs the lastpart to Mickey and Mickey can only hold his gaze for a couple of seconds beforehe has to look away, throat feeling thick with emotion.
Caleb looks at a complete loss for words and Mickeyfeels privately vindicated. Yeah, gocrawl back to whatever hole in the past you came from, he thinksmutinously.
“That’s um- I’m glad you’re so happy,” Caleb says finallyand Mickey’s just narrowing his eyes to try and figure out if he means it whenhe hears another familiar voice calling his name.
“MickeyMilkovich?”
And Christ, Mickey never thought he’d ever be happyto hear a fucking cop calling hisname.
He promptly turns away from Caleb, hearing Ian’sexcuse of, “Sorry, an old friend,” before he turns with him and then they’reboth standing face to face with Tony fucking Markovich.
“Don’t tell me you’re a cop now,” Tony jokes andMickey had not expected him to lookso happy to see him.
“I don’t think they let ex-cons join the force,” hesays, blinking in surprise when Tony only laughs. Huffing an unsure laugh ofhis own, he nods in Ian’s direction. “Nah, I’m only here for Ian.”
“He’s my arm candy,” Ian cuts in, moving his arm fromMickey’s waist to drape it around his neck.
Mickey rolls his eyes but watches Tony carefully forhis reaction.
“Glad to hear you two worked shit out,” Tony says, looking painfully sincere, and since when the fuck did Tony the cop know theywere even together? “I was always rooting for you two.”
“I’ve got him locked down all official now,” Ianboasts, flashing his ring proudly at Tony.
“No way!” Tony exclaims, grin becoming impossiblywider. “That’s amazing, congrats! Let me get you two a beer later, consider ita belated wedding gift.”
Ian barks out a laugh beside him and Mickey is soconfused right now. “Hey, how’s your boyfriend?” Ian asks then. And what thefuck?
“We’re living together now,” Tony admits sheepishlyand before Mickey can stop himself he blurts out, “You’re gay?”
Tony laughs, rubbing his neck awkwardly. “Yeah, Ian hadthe same reaction when he discovered that little revelation a few years ago.”
“It’s Fiona’s fault,” Ian tells him conspiratoriallyand Mickey finds a laugh bubbling out of him unexpectedly.
“Dan’s around here somewhere,” Tony says, craning hisneck to scan the room. “Hey, how about I find him and we get that drink? I haveto hear the proposal story.”
“You sure?” Mickey scoffs. “It’s a long one.”
“Eh these things are always boring anyway,” Tonyshrugs, gesturing to the banquet hall at large. “It’ll keep me entertained forthe night.”
Ian snorts beside him and waves Tony away. “Go findDan. We’ll meet you at the bar.”
Tony nods before taking his leave and Mickeyimmediately twists to face Ian once he’s gone. “What the fuck just happened?”
Ian barks out a laugh, depositing his beer bottle ona nearby table to wrap both his arms around Mickey. “The cop that you used toterrorise as a teenager just saved you from an awkward encounter with my ex.That’s what happened.”
Mickey shakes his head in disbelief. “I’ve had a lotof fuckin’ weird social interactions when you’ve dragged me to this kinda shitbut that has to be the weirdest.”
Ian laughs again, hugging him close and pressing hislips to Mickey’s forehead. “Just accept the free beer and remember it’sprobably good for us to have a friend who’s a cop.”
“A gayfriend who’s a cop, apparently,” Mickey scoffs, leaning his forehead againstIan’s shoulder a moment later. “Tony better not cheap out on the beer.”
Ian rubs his hand across Mickey’s shoulder blades, breathinghim in. “Pretty sure he’s on better pay than both of us so I think we’re good.”
“Come on,” Ian says then, catching Mickey’s hands anddragging in the direction of the bar. “I’ll buy you a shot of tequila first tocalm you down.”
“I can think of something else that’d calm me down,”Mickey says pointedly, nodding in the direction of the bathroom and raising hiseyebrows.
Ian halts, sizing him up for a moment and Mickeyknows he’s won before Ian even opens his mouth.
“Tony won’t miss us for a couple of minutes, right?”
Mickey grins, triumphant, and begins towing Ian inthe opposite direction.
He could get used to these benefit things.

TWD ending news; thoughts and speculations
 Caryl 📺  💖  Richonne 📽
TWD is ending soon!  -not quite.
Here’s my thoughts on it. the lows and highs. Anyways so yeah 9/9/20 was a crazy TWD news day.(and other tv news too, wtf tv gods. Yeah ..been a crazy tv week.) wtf, why that day? and I guess it’s like an unofficial Caryl day, huh? lol So it’s overwhelming. I wanna write it all out and my feels.    ok I guess I’m not that super excited or invested to it than others..idk I guess the excitement will hit me later or gradual. :P ok...idk I don’t wanna speculate too much. We don’t know much on it still.
So .... they’re/AMC saying TWD show (Rick’s/Grimes show) will end in a super sized s11. TWD finally got an ending plan! lol this show/franchise. I don’t mind that it’s ending or whatever, I mainly want a good story...a good written ending. But it’s all based on how if I still enjoy this show/franchise.. ok. Plus there’s a Caryl spin-off show and anthology spin-off show later on. +movie.
It’s a long post and I kinda mapped it out.
So in a *timeline*, in October it’s the s10 ep 16 “finale” episode. Recently, we’re also getting s10C (coronavirus pandemic bonus episodes) - six episodes I think, in Spring ‘21 (filming in October ‘20). They’re like inbetween episodes to s11. Idk what they’re like. standalone episodes?  And then they’re gonna do the series’s final season, s11, with 24 (12+12)episodes. Idk when it starts.  They film next summer, i guess, and show it in the Fall ’21 and Spring ‘22. Then it’s the spin-off shows, and Caryl..but I wanna focus more on Caryl spin-off show. That will be I guess in ‘23.  ...And a movie(s) :D but everyone’s doubtful and clueless of it but I think it will be filmed next year, ‘21. (and there’s TWD:WB and FTWD soon)
Ok yeah so ldksjfaljdflsj they say it’s sad news that TWD ending but like lol it doesn’t seem like it..from a Caryler I guess, +movie. So, I have theories and I’m like not so sure what’s really gonna happen. I need more info and well we never know what the writers or the future gonna do. Yeah first of all, these plans~~~, and yet we’re in the pandemic and dumb governing on these things. So I’m gonna guess these plans are gonna change or slow down. You never know. Ok.
I’m also like surprised that there’s gonna be a Caryl spinoff show. (it’s like if they made a Daryl spin-off show. Or any spin-off show..) I mean I didn’t think MMB and NR were still wanting to keep working on TWD/AMC. I thought like any actor..would want to do new things...Ok but they wanna keep working on AMC. NR -I’m not surprised cos he’s like a busy bee..um idk but yeah. Instead of Daryl show it’s now Caryl show from what I suspected-ish. And from the news they sound like it’s a shippy thing. It was also planned since 2018 I think..and “let’s go to New Mexico.” They knew long ago. So, I speculated awhile ago, when we learned that MMB and NR have contracts ending till s12. It’s like we all kinda suspected right that TWD will end in s12 except in episode # count. S10C + s11 (24 episdoes/+8 exra). They combined it earlier. Why earlier Idk...the pandemic? Or Gimple’s plan in franchise timeline?
So yeah that Caryl spin-off show! Like I hope it means that Caryl are romantic and endgame on this.👀 The more I read on this and thought about it. I don’t want to like get my hopes up too high or whatever. I don’t really trust writers.. eh ...it all depends on the story every time. I also think of the fandom/carylers on how they react to a canon-Caryl or even how the writers will show canon-Caryl. Because writers..like usually writers don’t write canon couples romance well. It’s usually love triangle, reunite a bunch of times, or breakup/makeup a lot. eh. I just hope they make Caryl story good and interesting. Another thing Caryl ship had always been like a subtle ship and angsty. We get bits and bits to keep going ..so a full attention of Caryl or canon-Caryl will be different. I hope it all goes well. :3 It’s all reminds me of Mindy Project show ..there’s always sides in the fandom. Some won’t like it, some will but it’s always about the main couple. Oh, my thoughts of Caryl show is that it will be like Bones, SPN, FTWD, or BeIIarke -_- lol , or something.
So from what I read when they already want to keep going with the spin-off show back in ‘18, the Caryl spin-off show will actually cost less than the TWD main show. It’s interesting. It’s all contracts, deals, Netflix, $ stuff. The show might not be international and on netflix, Idk. You know the ratings aren’t that great and most fans left,..but I guess they can still make the Caryl spin-off show. (a season or more idk) I was thinking it might be a Caryl-only show with different cast and set ...or the Caryl spin-off show might actually be just like TWD main show-s10 but different deals $ etc, and they can do whatever.
Oh, that it’s a spin-off then, and not now in s10 and s11, because the TWD main show will be done adapting the comic book storyline..(instead of thinking of the MMB and NR’s contracts). Yeah one of the theories.. like really Idk why we have Caryl spin-off show when s10 and s11 is pretty much already a Caryl show..with Maggie. But I guess it’s all due with contracts and stuff. And I guess it works timely with the comic storyline. Though the comic storyline parallel/adapting is so different now.  It’s very broad parallels. I guess it all works out in little ways. contracts, comics, and starting fresh. The Caryl spin-off show, they can really get away from the Grimes/Rick storyline which I like that it’s gonna be really separated by being a different show. (I guess also AMC have more control too.) It’s not on the same main show/s10 and on. Like storywise, I like that TWD show is always about the Grimes and it feels like it will be done right and completed to end it in s11 and that is based on comics/and the Grimes (I hope). If that make sense? Rick/Grimes show,is based on comics, will have an ending...TV-wise. Because there’s the movies too supposedly. Yeah maybe I’m not sad..because there’s the Rick movies thing in the works too. I hope s11 will still be about the connection to the Grimes. Like everyone looking after Judith and RJ and figuring out what to do with finding Richonne and stuff. To set up for the movies. (and TWD WB s2?) Because if not, then ugh then AMC should’ve had the main show ended in s10.  Wow.., the show is not based on the comics like it was before and I really can’t speculate s11 and on. Like I hope the writers got juicy stories to tie in with Rick and Michonne, and Maggie/Commonwealth comic stuff. uhh. So yeah Caryl spin-off show it means they can do whatever and writers/me? don’t have to worry that if it’s not connecting with the Grimes storyline. If AMC/Gimple wants to connect everyone.
And one of my theories or hope is that Caryl looks after Grimes kids ...in s11 and search for Rick/Richonne or help him, in part of the bigger plot of Rick movie story, in the spin-off show. Like Caryl will work on plan that later helps out Rick in the movies later on. Yeah and I just think the Rick movies are more like “TWD movies” where all the characters in the franchise will be part of the story. So yeah Rick reunites with everyone. The end, Happy ending! :3 So there’s many ways Caryl show might be like: same cast from TWD show that AMC controls more/Caryl leads/not based on comics(romantic or not), Caryl-only show, or Caryl kinda in part of the Rick movies story-like helping him in some way. etc. Oh, ..I was also thinking it’s like I guess FTWD .. I was also thinking Morgan and his friends might be also be in part of helping Rick’s plans in the Rick movies too.  (.. if Gimple wants to do that.) I hope Caryl will be romantic..I don’t want a “Caryl spin-off show” when it’s just same cast and Caryl still not together. eh. ..Why call it “Carol and Daryl spin-off show”? So I guess it’s gonna be shippy.
So I think the Rick movies (which so far is still happening and three of ‘em.../if) will be after s11 and after TWD WB s2 - ‘21/22.    idk when FTWD comes.
Oct ‘20 - TWD:WB s1
spring ‘21 -TWD  s10C
summer ‘21? - TWD: WB s2/ends
fall ‘21 and spring/summer ‘22 (or fall ‘22? lol) - TWD s11
‘22? *rick movie 1? (...with everyone there?)
‘23 Caryl spin-off show s1
‘23 and on? * rick movie 2? movie 3?
....etc.
So...you get it..like it’s like some big overall storyline Gimple is doing. But plans can change and anything could happen. I may be speculating wrong. Who knows. sigh. I just want Team Family reunited with Rick again and a good ending as best as writers can do. :B  If they can’t make a movie(s) then I hope Gimple find a way to end Rick’s story for fans.
sigh yeah tired of the fandom complaining and assuming/speculating wrong. (like hating on the spin-off show when they don’t know what a spin-off show is.) blah. idk. tired of shippers..generalizing. (I ship both Caryl and Richonne so. sigh go away drama) I’m tired of fans being biased and doubting and singling things out. I feel like we all won. But anyway until more news and facts it is what it is. I wanna wait till when things actually happen or news that say something won’t happen.  Keep waiting and hoping on :] *Caryl on*

FFT: gingerbread family; sam and dean winchester
Notes:
So, uh.. Idk where this came from but.. It was fun to write. And maybe one day, I’ll go further with it, idk. I just really wanted to make sure it wound up on here when I started moving fics.
Summary:
What if Sam and Dean woke up one morning and their lives were.. Semi normal? Or as close to normal as it can reasonably get for the two of them? What would they do? Obviously, here, they rolled with it.
Pairing:
Sam Winchester x OFC, Raine, Dean Winchester x OFC, Jenn
Warnings:
total au - not even a little bit canon compliant here, tbh. mentions of alcohol, angst, fluff... a groundhog day but make it christmas plot?
Tumblr media
The bleak sunshine beamed through the window right into Sam Winchester’s eyes. His response was to shove his head beneath the pillow and try to burrow deeper down into the bed.
From somewhere nearby, the television turned on. He could hear the opening strands of a cartoon theme song and he grumbled to himself sleepily. “Dean, turn it off, man. It’s too early.” he mumbled.
He realized that he wasn’t at a hotel or the bunker around the same time that an arm slipped over him and the soft warmth of another body pressed against his bare back from behind. Sam’s eyes popped open wide and he felt himself starting to go into fight or flight mode, but from behind him, lips brushed against his shoulder.
“Will you be still, Sam?”
Sam sucked in a breath and after a count to 3, he rolled over, preparing himself for what he might be about to come face to face with.
… The blonde from that bar?…. He remembered Dean sending him into the bar in town to pick up these subs they started selling… And to hang around, make sure that the blonde bartender was okay.
Which had lead to Sam talking to said bartender… And realizing that it was Raine, a girl he’d met a few years back.
He tried to push himself to remember more, but nothing came for a second or two.. And then suddenly, it all came in a rush, memories that didn’t make any sense, things he knew couldn’t possibly have happened were bombarding him. As he tried to pick through what he knew and what he was ‘remembering’ as he lie there on his back with her draped over his body, the bedroom door swung open.
“Daddy, Uncle Dean’s on the phone. Are you and mommy gettin up?”
Sam swallowed hard as his eyes fixed on the 6 year old in the doorway, clutching a galaxy colored unicorn against her as she stared at him.
Her eyes were the exact shade of his own.
“Yeah, I’m getting up.”
Beside him, the blonde stirred. “Bed is warm. You’re warm. If you get up… It’ll be cold.”
And then he caught sight of her finger when he went to raise her arm so he could slip out of bed.
And he saw an engagement ring and a wedding band.
His eyes darted around the room as he rose to a sitting position, making a show of stretching and waking up.
Something in this room had to spark some shred of memory. Real memory. Not whatever those memories were earlier.
On the other end of the phone line, Dean sat at a kitchen table that apparently, he’d built with his own hands. In the background, a woman named Jenn that he remembered Sam telling him about while he was talking to Sam on the phone, who was apparently now his wife was in the kitchen with their son, making dinosaur shaped pancakes and laughing. It’s A Wonderful Life was playing on tv and the irony in the movie’s plot and it’s similarity to what Dean Winchester woke up smack in the middle of was not lost on him, either.
Dean would never admit it, but deep down, he wasn’t even sure why he was calling Sam about this. Every part of him wanted to hang up, go into the kitchen and just… Enjoy whatever this was.
But he had to know if he was the only one.. He had to know if Sam was alright, if this was happening to him too.
“ Hey, darlin?” Dean called out. The red head peered out of the kitchen, flour on the bridge of her nose. “You rang, grinch?”
“Oh haha.. What are you makin in there?” - it wasn’t what Dean was wanting to ask, but it was just a question to distract his racing mind. He was currently in problem solver mode on his end, wondering if Sam were ever going to pick up the damned phone.
“Dinos and snakes.”
Dean’s brow raised and Jenn laughed, shaking her head. “Not literally, Winchester. Pancake form. Our son and his thing with dinosaurs, remember?”
“Ah, oh yeah.” Dean cleared his throat because fuck no, he did not remember. And the sooner he got to the bottom of this, the better. Jenn eyed him. He’d been acting plain weird since they woke up this morning.
Almost like he was out of it, like that one time he tangled with a pack of shapeshifters in New Mexico and wound up with a bit of a concussion.
“Dean?”
“Yeah, hon?”
“You’re good, right?”
“I’m fine. Promise.”
Jenn stared at him a few seconds and then nodded to the tv. “No football?”
“Nah, this is kinda… Amusing to me.”
“Okay then.” Jenn lingered a few seconds, the back of her hand on his forehead.
“I mean it, darlin. Totally fine. Is there any chance we’re gonna have pie today?”
His statement about pie seemed to convince her. She smiled and leaned in, brushing her lips to his forehead. “Possibly… If you’re gonna save some of that whipped cream spray for a little later?” she met his gaze with an intent and hungry look in his eyes and he gulped, nodding.
“Definitely.”
… okay, Sammy, c’mon, pick up the damned phone…. He thought to himself as Jenn disappeared back into the kitchen and his son ran out, climbing up into the chair with him, chewing noisily.
…. Okay, so maybe… he thought to himself, stifling the urge to grin as he watched what was apparently his kid, take a bite of food similar to the way he tended to chow down when food was nearby.
“Hey, whoa, champ… You’re gonna choke.”
“But daddy, you eat like this.”
“I’m big, little guy. You’re not.”
On Sam’s end of things, Sam was getting out of bed. His daughter climbed onto his back, talking a mile a minute about how excited she was that it was Christmas and wondering if Grandma and Grandpa were going to come by later.
When she mentioned that, Sam stopped for a split second and tried to search his mind… She had to be talking about Raine’s parents.
Both of his were dead.
They got to the cordless phone in the hallway and Sam picked it up, all the while, preparing him for what version of Dean he might be getting. Dean spoke up quickly.
“Hey, yo… Sammy.. Everything okay?”
Sam hugged the little girl and told her with a smile, “Go in and sit by the tree. Don’t start opening presents yet, princess.”
“I promise, daddy. Oh, I hope one of ‘em is the unicorn I wanted! Or the chemistry set!”
Sam picked up the phone again, peering out to make sure no one could overhear. He hadn’t… Exactly been able to bring himself to tell Raine that he didn’t exactly.. Remember the last decade they’d apparently been together.
“Dean? Is that really you?”
“ Oh thank God, Sammy.. You’re good, right? Nothing wrong?”
“I mean aside from the fact that oh, apparently, I have a wife and daughter that I didn’t have last night?”
“Oh thank god. I thought it was just me.”
“Wait, you too.. Right?” Sam caught sight of a photo sitting on the console table next to the phone’s base. He picked it up, snickering.
“Your wife is familiar….” Sam trailed off and Dean muttered mostly to himself, “Well, that makes one of us because I haven’t seen her before.. I mean… that red head you mentioned on the phone last night… But I didn’t see her….”
“That’s right, she worked at the bar too. Remember? She was the feisty one, the one who twisted that drunk frat boy’s arm behind his back when he tried to grab her ass as she walked by.. I did tell you about it when you called to tell me you changed your mind on the sub…”
“Yeah, now how’d I wind up the lucky bastard married to her, because damn…” Dean cleared his throat and peered around, closing the bathroom door behind him as he stepped inside. “That still doesn’t explain any of this. Think, Sammy… Did you come in contact with anything weird? I know I didn’t.”
“I don’t think I did.. I mean.. Raine and I were talking before I took her home and we were talking about where we thought our lives might be if things worked out differently.” Sam watched Raine and their daughter as they flipped through the tv set, stopping on the Christmas Parade. The little girl’s joyous laugh had a smile tugging at Sam’s lips and he sighed.
“Oh… Oh hell.” Dean finally managed to snag one solid memory of the night before that didn’t feel false.
He was sitting in the bunker, about an hour before Sam finally made it in from his ‘mission’ down at the bar. The bottle of Jim Beam was sitting in front of him and he’d had some classic rock station playing.
He’d just been sitting there, drinking. Trying to imagine what their lives would be like if they weren’t always in danger. He couldn’t see himself ever not hunting, but maybe on a lesser extreme basis.
Only taking cases he was sought out for or something like that.
He’d just talked to Sam on the phone - Sam had been telling him about the red head he suspected was currently in the kitchen right now.
Dean rubbed the back of his head.
“What do we do?” Sam’s question broke through Dean attempting to piece together what might be going on.
Dean rubbed his chin and took a deep breath. “I’ll stumble through the whole present opening thing and then I’m comin over. We’ll try to figure out something then.”
Just as Sam hung up, he felt a gentle tug at the leg of his plaid pajama bottoms. “Daddy?”
Sam knelt down to her level. “Yeah?”
“Can we please, please please open presents now? I really wanna give you yours.”
Sam smiled and even though he was half afraid he’d wake up at any second and discover this was some kind of dream or something, he pulled her into a hug. “Yeah, let’s go, princess.”
She grabbed hold of his hand, attempting to drag him into the living room and Raine eyed him.
“Everything alright? You seemed kind of out of it earlier.”
“Huh? Yeah. It’s good, everything is good. Dean was just calling to let me know he made it back and that they were gonna come over later.”
God he hoped that in whatever version of reality this was, Dean just popping in was a normal thing, he thought to himself, otherwise, he was not going to just be able to explain it without raising any concerns.
Raine eyed him and leaned in, feeling his forehead with the back of her hand. “Your brother and Jenn and our nephew come over all the time.. What’s going on, Sam?”
“Nothing.”
Raine eyed him. He almost acted like the time he got hexxed by a witch in Vegas.. When the witch tried to make him forget he already had a wife and tried to lure him to a 24 hour wedding chapel to marry her instead. She bit her lip, opened her mouth to say something, but something in her kept quiet.
She closed her mouth and leaned against him, grabbing for a box. “Oh here. This is yours, daddy..”
Sam eyed her, then the box, biting his lip as he caught on to the special emphasis on the word Daddy.
“Well? Are you gonna open that or not?” Raine was fidgeting, heart racing a little bit. Having another kid wasn’t really something she and Sam talked about. They had both mentioned at odd and off hand times that they wanted another kid, but they never actually sat down and talked it over or planned it out.
Which worked better in Raine’s opinion. Happy accidents were better than planning and stress and frustration when things started to prevent what they wanted to happen from happening.
Sam tore open the box and as soon as he saw the EPT sitting there, he tried to pull himself together.
Parts of him were really really wishing this was real and parts of him were waiting on the other shoe to drop, waiting on demons to burst in or Chuck to show his snivelling face.
“Okay, you’re freaking me out here, Sam.” Raine was sitting next to him, taking shaky breaths as she stared at him waiting on some kind of reaction.
Sam pulled her into his lap and hugged her. “When did you find out?”
“ Earlier this week..” Raine pulled him closer and eyed him. “Are you sure you’re okay?”
“Yeah, I’m fine. This is great.”
…. Maybe I can just sort of go with it.. Until something happens.. And I know it will, it always does… Just once… Sam’s mind was racing as he tried again to pick out anything tangible in his mind that might indicate what was going on or when the other shoe was going to drop.
“ Layla, why don’t you bring daddy what you got him?” Raine told their daughter. She leapt off the floor and went racing out of the room, coming back with a book that looked almost as heavy as her.
Sam chuckled. “What’s this, hmm?”
“Just look!”
Sam chuckled as he took the book, opening it to the first page. He pulled her onto his lap and hugged her close. “I love it, sweetie.”
“You’ll read it to me, right?”
“Yeah.” Sam promised as he reached for a box nearby, recognizing his own handwriting immediately. He held it out to Raine, giving his best smile because he had not one single clue what was actually inside the box.
“Sam, I told you…” Raine took the box and bit her lip as she unwrapped it carefully, bursting into laughter.
“You seriously… went and bought the matches to my purposely mismatched socks.” Raine was about to put the box away, but she caught sight of something silver in the bottom and when she pulled it out, she gasped.
“Oh.. Oh… Sam.” Raine moved to sit in his lap, cupping his jawline with her hand, pulling him into a deep kiss. “How in the hell did you get a picture of me that night?”
Sam coughed, raking his hands through his hair. He knew she was waiting for an answer but honestly, given the situation, he didn’t really have one..
“I took it earlier in the night and I kind of… I’ve kept it all this time. Then I saw that locket.”
“I helped, Mommy!”
“And she helped.” Sam added quickly, praying to fuck that Raine didn’t question it. He let out a breath when she did nothing beyond snuggle even closer to him.
“I’m glad you like it.”
“I love it, Sam. It’s.. I… I’m gonna cry now, damn it.” Raine giggled as she wiped at her eyes.

He couldn’t get over it. Every look around the place revealed something totally new. Dean wasn’t very good at hiding it, either. Jenn eyed him as she saw him standing there, holding their first “family photo” in his hands. She made her way over, leaning against him.
“You know I told you not to get him that dirtbike, right?”
“Yeah, well…” Dean shrugged, chuckling. It was a little too easy to just go with the situation he found himself in. Every part of him really did believe that had he chosen… Had he been able to choose.
He would have definitely chosen Jenn.
His arm slid around her and he admitted quietly, “Just kept thinkin about how Dad, he… He kept saying we’d get one, but we never really got around to it.”
Jenn sighed, nodding as she stared up at her husband. “I know. It’s okay. We’ll just have to teach him how to be careful on it. I knew you were going to go back and get it.”
Even as she said it, while she watched their son sitting on the orange and black dirt bike replica, she still got this feeling that something was off with Dean today. She tucked her fingers beneath his jaw, guiding his gaze down to her own.
“Level with me, Dean.. Are you really okay? Because you’ve acted a little off since we got back last night.”
Dean took a deep breath. He was just about to tell her the truth, all of it, but when he opened his mouth to do so, it just wouldn’t come out.
The song on the radio had him kind of biting his lip and thinking real long and hard about what the song suggested, ‘Let It Be’.
Maybe until he and Sam figured things out, letting it go -and going along with it wasn’t too bad, right?
He just had to hope this didn’t come around and bite him right in the ass like so much other stuff in the past had. Jenn was eyeing him again with that look. Dean put his arms around her, hands slipping down and squeezing her ass. “I’m fine, Jenn. I mean it, okay?”
“Okay.”
Dean couldn’t help but relax a little when she seemed to believe him.
“Let’s go finish opening presents, hmm darlin?” he muttered the words against her mouth and she playfully walked her fingertips up the front of his tee shirt. “And then maybe I can open up a little somethin else, hmm?”
Dean swallowed hard, coughing a little, but he gave a wink and smirk in response. “Maybe so.”
XXX
“Are you sure you’re okay?” Raine asked the question and Sam nodded. Raine eyed him suspiciously, but she shook her head and muttered something about horomones and past close calls he’d had.
It hit him then. He knew by now that he still hunted. That Dean still hunted. So, it went without saying, he’d most likely kept hunting throughout the beginning stages of their relationship.
But did she hunt now too?
After a few seconds of watching her watch their daughter through the bay windows in the living room, he made his way over, standing behind her, his hands at her hips. He turned her around. “I’m fine, Raine.”
“ Okay.” she seemed a little more convinced. The Impala came to a stop in their driveway and Sam chuckled as he watched his daughter dart straight for it. He honestly thought it’d be Dean and his wife and their child getting out.
He swallowed hard, mouth opening and closing when his mom and dad got out instead, his dad with a pile of presents so high that the man couldn’t really see over them and as a result, was having to look around.
“Daddy! Grandpa and Grandma are here! They did come! I told you they’d make it back from Arizona!”
Sam walked to the door, leaning in it’s frame, rubbing his hand over his hair. A red Impala similar to their father’s pulled to a stop behind where John parked and then with a squeal, Sam’s daughter took off at a run for Dean’s legs.
“Oh! Uncle Dean, did you get those bad wolves? When you went huntin?” his niece was looking up at him, that same look in her eyes that Sam used to get whenever Dean told him the plot to some movie as a bedtime story when they were kids and left behind in the hotel.
Dean swallowed hard, trying to take everything in. Apparently, his parents were still alive in this alternate universe. And apparently, hunting truly was a family affair, because on the way over, he’d gotten into a conversation with his son about his last hunt.
All he could think at the moment was that at least he was doing it right. From what he gathered from Jenn and his son, he and Jenn and Sam and Raine alternated. Whoever wasn’t on the case stayed by phones and kept in touch. And kept the kids safe.
It wasn’t the way his father had done things when he took it up, not at all.
And then it really hit him.
His parents were still alive here. He had his whole family.
They finally had their entire family.
Sam made his way over, laughing when his daughter climbed up and into his arms. He leaned in and whispered to Dean, “What’s the verdict?”
“Remember the last time this happened, right?”
Sam nodded. They’d all been together in the bunker. But everything around them had been totally different.
This time, aside from their own personal lives… Nothing really had been so far. Nothing so catastrophic that they’d want to just keep poking around for answers.
“Yeah.. You don’t think?” Sam asked, staring at his brother intently. Dean eyed everyone and green eyes darted around the cul de sac his brother lived on. “No.. I mean, nothin’s obviously wrong.”
Kids across the street were outside throwing a football back and forth. Further down the street, a few older kids and one or two teenagers were heading towards the diner a few blocks away.
Everything felt okay. There wasn’t this air of something horrible waiting to happen. Despite that being the case, both Sam and Dean had their guard up. And things got even further interesting when John and Mary wandered over, talking quietly amongst themselves.
“Okay, now you both know how I feel about makin deals..” John started, with Mary nodding in agreement, glancing back and forth from son to son. Dean and Sam shared a look and shook their heads, raising their hands.
“I swear neither of us did.”
“I know neither of us did. We were just going about Christmas eve normally… Workin a case here in town.. I ran into Raine at the bar and I was actually telling Dean about his wife Jenn when we talked on the phone.” Sam was quick to say it and John rubbed his hand over the back of his head.
“They all think everything is fine. But we all know there’s somethin at play here..”
“John, it doesn’t feel off like last time.” Mary’s hand closed around her husband’s arm as she took a deep breath and watched their grandchildren running through the yard.
Dean chuckled, nodding to his son. “He’s got a pet snake.”
Sam nodded to his daughter. “She pouted a little earlier because we didn’t get her an exact ‘big girl’ chemistry set. Raine said something about her last experiment and the way it exploded on the kitchen ceiling..” and he took a deep breath. “And Raine is pregnant.”
Dean chuckled, nodding to Jenn. “We were talkin about that on the way over here. You took it okay, right?”
“Considering I literally just woke up in the middle of all this today? I hope I did. I tried to.. I just…”
The four of them muttered at the same time, “Don’t wanna leave this all behind.” as Mary hugged her sons. “ I know. I definitely know that feeling.”
“So what do we do?”
“Keep our eyes open. Let all of this ride it’s course. See what tomorrow brings.” John said it quietly and all eyes shifted to him.
“This is all I wanted, from the start. Now I don’t know about the rest of you, but I’m gonna roll with it. Everything I’ve seen so far indicates that we’re still in the game, we’re still doin what we’ve always done. Maybe this is finally a reward for all of that.”
“Careful Dad.. you sounded kinda optimistic just then.” Dean watched the kids and called out to his son, “Hey, whoa buddy… Slow down and don’t go so close to the street.”
“Okay, sorry.”
“In the meantime, let’s just get inside. I’m freezing my tits off standing out here. And this cold can’t be good for the kids.” Mary smiled at her sons and made her way over to where her granddaughter sat on the edge of Sam’s porch, hugging herself.
“You cold, sweetie?”
“Mhm. Is everything gonna be okay?” the little girl asked, the question catching Mary off guard for a split second.
Remembering the situation, she plastered on a reassuring smile and hugged the little girl tight. “It is, sweetie. C’mon little man!” she called out to Dean’s son who ran over, grabbing hold of her hand.
“I’m starvin. Can’t wait to get inside and eat.”
Mary laughed softly.
John caught up to her, laughing as he told the kids, “So… who wants more presents, huh?”
“I do!”
“I DO!”
Sam and Dean lingered outside for a little while and Dean finally cleared his throat.
“Don’t.”
“Don’t what, Dean?”
“Don’t do that thing you do where you overthink. I’m tryin not to myself.”
“Careful, Dean, you almost sound like you want things to stay this way…” Sam chuckled and Dean mulled it over, waving at Jenn, who came to the doorway with Raine in tow. “Will you two hurry? A Christmas Story is on and the turkey is almost done.”
“Comin darlin!”
“I’ll be right in, sweetheart.”
The brothers shared a look and took a deep breath.
“I think maybe Dad is right… I mean stoppin for gas on the way over here and there were no weird headlines…” Dean said it, Sam letting out a ragged breath as he pointed out also, “Look… We’ve both always wanted this exact thing.. So the way I see it? If it works and nothing is broken, we don’t try to fix it.”
“We just be really careful.”
“Super careful.” Sam echoed, chuckling as he saw Raine and Jenn waiting on them to come in. “I mean… we’ve always said we can’t have both.. And… we have that here. I want it, Dean.”
“So do I. Let’s just roll with it and see what happens.”
And on that note, the brothers made their way into the house just as Raine and Jenn and their mother were starting to put food out on the dining table.
And as they sat around, laughing and talking and eating, they both felt genuinely happy for once.
A true Christmas miracle, if you will…. Now, they both just had to hope that this miracle extended beyond Christmas… That somehow, this was their life.

Linz’s Updates
Ugh chronic pain is useless and work gave me a new grey hair, but I got promoted and finally had anniversary dinner, so balance?
What Linz read:
The Wife by Meg Wolitzer: Contemporary novel about a woman’s life as a a famous author’s wife. It’s not breaking any ground and the “twist” is telegraphed pretty hard early on, but it’s well-written and I enjoyed it
Sisters of Shadow and Light by Sara B. Larson: The publisher has kindly asked us to not post reviews until 2 weeks before sale date, so I don’t want to say anything just yet about this fantasy story involving 2 sisters who are stuck in a Paladin citadel, but I’ll post my review on Goodreads Oct. 22.
What Linz is currently reading:
The Good Luck Girls by Charlotte Nicole Davis: OK so I’m an idiot and thought this book was about girls who were forced into magical servitude via cursed tattoos, but, like, as child soldiers, not prostitutes-in-training. Whoops. So given that I thought this was a very different book, I’m not into it yet, but I’m gonna try to hit 20% and re-evaluate if I finish it.
My Lovely Wife by Samantha Downing: JUST got this from the library and I’m a little excited to start reading it today. From Goodreads: “We all have secrets to keeping a marriage alive. Ours just happens to be getting away with murder.”
Sam’s Updates
It’s starting to get cold, so, like Linz, my chronic pain is flaring up. But who can think about that when thE NATS ARE IN THE WORLD SERIES?! We also have Dewey’s 24h Readathon this Saturday so my TBR is here too.
What I read this week:
Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern: So this is where I would normally tell you what this book is about, but IM NOT GONNA. It’s so much better to go into Erin’s books blind and I’m not going to ruin that. What I WILL say is it’s got a giant (as in world size) library. I have no words. This book was perfect and I already want to reread it. Drunk review comin sooon.
The Broken Kingdoms by N.K. Jemisin: This is the second book in the Inheritance series. Parker wrote a hilarious review. Listening on audio. I enjoyed this a lot more than the first one. Maybe it’s because I understand it more? Idk. I already downloaded book 3 from the library so that’s good news.
What I’m currently reading:
Wild Beauty by Anna-Marie McLemore: So this is a story of a family that always has 5 girls, 5 cousins. The men that spawn these women disappear, so it’s always the women. 5 ladies, 5 mothers, 5 Grandmas (abuelas), when suddenly a boy appears. He has no memories. Guys I know I’m slow going at this but some stuff happened in the book and now I’m v v sad.
Gods of Jade and Shadow by Silvia Moreno-Garcia: This is our book club book for the month. Basically it’s the 1920s-ish in Mexico, and our main character Casiopea accidentally lets the god of death out of prison and he gotta put himself back together before he turns mortal and for a variety of reasons (including potential death herself) Casiopea goes with him. I am getting some SERIOUS Hades and Persephone vibes from this and I love it.
Aurora Rising by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman: This is the first in a new sci-fi series by our fave Illuminae duo. Tyler has it made, he’s gonna get the #bestsquadever. But then when he’s out practicing space stuff, he finds a ship that has a buncha dead people in cryopods, except one isn’t dead, she’s Aurora. Anyway he ends up with the last of the last crews and may have accidentally witnessed the start of an intergalactic war. So.. that. I’m really really liking the dynamic of the squad, everyone is a little odd and a little broken but they’re starting to get to know each other. We’ll see if my love for them overcomes the pace of the story (slowwww).
Dewey’s 24h Readathon TBR
…And Other Disasters by Malka Older: I got this ARC in the mail a few weeks ago and I want to knock it out before it comes out. It’s a collection of poetry and short stories and I can’t wait
A River of Royal Blood by Amanda Joy: I picked this up at ALA and the cover has me hooked. Cannot wait to read it.
Girls of Storm and Shadow by Natasha Ngan: This is the sequel to Girls of Paper and Fire which Linz reviewed. I wasn’t super impressed with book 1, I’m giving the series another chance with book 2.
Minda’s Updates
What Minda finished:
These Divided Shores (Stream Raiders #2) by Sara Raasch – So really loved the second installment and double love that it was a duology. I think two books was the perfect amount to explore the intricacies of the island melting pot of Grace Loray and the threat its people face from the mainland. With plant magic! Stay tuned for review. 4/5 shots.
What Minda is reading now:
HEIST by Kezzy Sparks – A debut magic-based paranormal suspense novel that I will 100% finish this week. Look for the review around when the book drops Oct 31
Ginny’s Updates:
Well, I finished my first full week as an aunt and it was delightful! I got about 8 hours of baby time today (which equals approximately two hours of reading while mom, dad, other aunt, and nana all takes naps). Also, there were some other surprises this week (no worries – no books were harmed… actually some comic books were harmed, but for a good cause).
Currently Reading:
Queen of the Unwanted  by Jenna Glass: This is the sequel to Women’s War which came out last year. Because I got the arc of that, Netgalley asked if I was interested in reading this and the answer was YES. I’m not super far in but I’m excited!
Agent to the Stars by John Scalzi: I read a book by John Scalzi a while back called Fuzzy, where the main character discovers the cutest animal ever and it turns out to be sentient and he has to prove it. This is the kind of the opposite, aliens exist but they look like the thing of nightmares but are actually super cool. Tom, the main characters, is a Hollywood agent who has been tasked with figuring out how to introduce the aliens to the public. It’s pretty delightful, the idea and the characters are fun. You can tell it’s one of Scalzi’s earlier novels as there’s some undertones of (as the news has told us) industry-standard misogyny. The main character, luckily isn’t a dick, but there’s still some statements that were a little bit cringey. Doesn’t change the fact that I trust Scalzi and I’m enjoying this book.
Finished:
Laughter at the Academy by Seanan McGuire: I’m lucky enough to have gotten this as an ARC from Netgalley. This is a collection of short stories from throughout McGuire’s career. It’s delightful to see some of the earlier stories next to things that have a more modern feel. I’m planning on writing a review for this one!
Pocket Apocalypse by Seanan McGuire: Yes, okay, I read two of these books in the same week. This is the 4th book in the InCryptid series and continues to delight. Alex has to go to Australia to try to help end a werewolf infestation. Yet again, planning on writing a review of this so I’m not going to say too much.
How Long ’til Black Future Month by N.K. Jemisin: This is another book of short stories and like all collections, some are stronger than others. That doesn’t change the fact that there’s some absolutely amazing pieces among this collection, the kind of pieces that make you never want to write a single word ever again because you aren’t going to be able to write something so good. My particular favorites ended up being a story set in a reality bubble where people are only connected via blogs and one set during Hurricane Katrina that included a set of lizards that could talk. Both of those stories (and many of the ones I didn’t mention) had this beautiful flow to it, and had these really subtle feelings of hope or dread. 5/5
Until next time, we main forever drunkenly yours,
Sam, Ginny, Linz, and Minda
