Credit where credit is due: I've only ever seen Wooley as shiny-new in the show with no paint of his own, so I ended up using @yukipri's wonderful paint design for him (since I'm pretty sure that if Comet and Tup have their paint then Wooley should definitely has his worn in as well)

Oh to be reset. Maybe even erased.

Imagine being taken by something beautiful, you're minding yourself, existing as you always have, and the next moment you're somewhere else. A basement, a garden, a quiet segment of forest, it doesn't matter. And she's there, she stands in front of you. Her eyes are as gentle as can be. You try to scream but she puts a finger to your lip.

"Shhh, it's okay pet, you're safe. I know how you've suffered." She plays with your hair, she leans in to kiss you on the cheek. You don't resist, you don't want to. "I'm here to make things much better~"

You feel something sharp penetrate the back of your neck. You feel it drain you, perhaps not physically, but you feel your grip on reality lessen moment by moment. Your memories are fading, at first a day, then a week, fragments disappearing moment by moment. Where did you go to school? I've forgotten. Who is your family? I don't have one.

"Don't worry pet, it'll all be over soon, you'll be able to start from zero, doesn't that sound lovely?"

It does sound lovely. So lovely. You choke back sobs for a moment, unable to tell if they are tears of joy or fear. You call out to the woman through tears.

"Yes Pet?" She says, her voice smooth as honey.

"Please... Hold me..."

Her arms wrap around you, squeezing you into a comfortable warm embrace. She pets your head, humming a gentle tune as your eyes flicker.

"Good night pet, it's time for you to rest."

Your eyes softly close.

When you awake, well, maybe not you, but you, she's there.

You don't know who she is. You don't know where you are. You don't know your name. It's scary. Everything is scary.

You curl up in a ball as you begin to sob, it's the only thing that makes sense. She comes over to you, and gently pets you. You look up to her with innocent eyes. She's so pretty.

She tells you your name, she tells you that she'll be your caretaker from now on. She tells you that she will love you to the fullest. She tells you that you'll never have to worry again. Even through the fog, you know she's telling the truth. Her earnest love sings through ever word. She offers you her hand. You reach for it with your shaky paw and hold it tight. She helps you up, your poor legs give out as you find them hard to use. She doesn't let you stumble for long as she lifts you into a princess carry. You nuzzle into the crook of her neck. She's so soft. After some minutes of walking and being carried, you hear a door creak open. A flurry of warmth floods over you.

"Welcome home pet~"

You feel your heart beat and your cheeks flush. A warm delight blossoms deep within you.

You smile.

You're home!

Genuary2024 prompt Dream/Imagination

Why Gene signing "Like a Commet" (Steven Universe) for this first prompt?

Well cause you need a lot of imagination to think it XD

Kidding, uhm this is confidential information but I kinda been thinking about making a comic with Gene as the protegonist, I won't say anything else. Second protagonist Jimmy Jr. Okay nothing else. Is about Gen in his first year of High Schol. THIS IS NOT ABOUT THIS.

So the comic start with Gene dreaming of his first day in high school and the dream is Gene singing "Like a Comet" in front of the whole school everyone calling their name and cheering for them.

Rebuscado? Rebuscadisimo. Which mean over elaborate and overthinked. But it was the first thing I thought.

Oh and there's some reference to "The Frond Files" and other episodes specially on Gene's keyboard.

Haven’t been drawing a lot because the semester was difficult ESPECIALLY around finals. As a break between studying I would often sketch my Kirby ocs! These were are all scattered throughout August - December. Still making the ref for Sir Meteor, so he hasn’t been introduced officially yet (unless you have seen me post about him in discords lol), but he’s been a work-in-progress ever since I posted those allosaurus skull studies in August X)

My winter break has started recently and I’m itching to create again, especially since I have those requests that I opened, I wanted to do them way faster but assignments are priority sadly. As a reward for anyone who has read this far, have a peek at my next planned full piece!

Unpopular Opinion(?): I'm firmly in the "Starlo doesn't have a tail" camp

Anyway I was reading about meteor impacts and remembered a paper we read in my mythology class in college

It was... dumb

The argument was that Irish hero Cú Chulainn (and/or the god Lugh, his father) was actually totally a comet that passed close to earth

Based on like. Some dumb stuff about throwing rocks or spears, and having spiky hair, and being described as shining brightly, shit like that

(conveniently ignoring all the descriptions that don't sound like a comet)

Anyway it made me mad because it was a shit argument so I looked it up now and found a summary of the idea and the guy who proposed it... well he's not a mythology expert, or historian, or even an astronomer

He's a dendrologist

He got this stuff from studying tree rings and noticing there were bad times for trees at certain years and then making HUGE fucking leaps of logic and then for some reason my professor in college thought it was worth presenting to the class

Perhaps "learn how to pick apart a dumb argument" was the goal idk

Is strange because Marco’s soulmate is named Ace too and he is certainly not Ace

Comedy where Ace ends up with two soulmates and people reincarnate fully formed or smth bc we gotta protect women and afab ppl from the horrors of childborth

Ace landed over the hill btw and has to trek back over it to find them lmao
