Dear Algy @adventuresofalgy , so sorry to miss your birthday, but here's a semi-fluffy mama hummingbird on her nest in the lime tree who also wishes she could come belatedly. She often lets me paparazzi her, but sometimes she does deliver some side eye. I stumbled on the nest because she's very close to the Purple Coral Pea blossoms and the Vinca/Periwinkle and as I stumbled past the lime tree (also beginning to flower!) to go for the flower pictures, I heard her behind, then in front. As I looked up from the ground, there mama was, hovering barely a meter in front of me. At which point I figured there was a reason for this, and looked around and spotted her nest. Then I retreated and got out the telephoto lens so I could give her some space.

These Tilia henryana (Henry's lime) trees have had their canopies trained to provide shade and an architectural feature for this cafe area at Cambridge Botanic Garden, UK. This is a small to medium size tree which is described as slow growing with an upright habit so making it a useful candidate as a garden tree. The flowers have a wonderful scent.
