Writetober day 20: Stars

Maire sighed as she looked up. It was a nice night out, and for the monsters, it was their first night seeing the stars. It just didn't feel quite right to her.

We won, everyone is fine. I'm even the only one with the magic button. I should be celebrating.

She just slapped herself and smiled. Sure, there is a lot of work to do but she can get the rest done. “Why am I sulking? I have the power of positive energy and I'm completely....”

“Determined.”

She quickly turned around to find Grillby standing there with a plate of food. She hadn't realized how long she had been out here.

Oh, oops.

She just laughed. “Oh hey Grillby. How much of that did you hear?”

He sighed. “I heard enough. I was originally just gonna check if you remembered to eat but I am very keen on listening.”

Yes, but not even Sans remembers. I've linked together so many and yet the one who needs it is gone.

She gives a sad gaze as she looks back up to the stary sky. “Things are currently fine. It's something, that I doubt even you would remember.”

“You mean the silver-haired girl." Her eyes widened as she quickly turned around to the fire monster. That was the closest anyone had ever gotten to know who the connector could be. It might even mean her sacrifices made a difference.

“That was the closest anyone has gotten. I only even know her because she helped me when it was the worst possible time." She was felling her perseverance starting to grow. That purple tint to her gaze returning.

Here I was trying to keep my determination aspect going. I hate my moods.

He sighed as he passed her the food. "Sometimes it feels like there should be someone with us, celebrating and laughing. I see her, and I know her but I can't quite grasp it."

She sighed. "Yeah, she originally gave her existence so I could even be here. Then she did it all over again so I could keep the family I remember. Hope has a way of doing that." That girl deserved everything and got nothing. Marie just couldn't stand that.

Her eyes flashed gold once as her determination had returned.

I hope this isn't a constant change once I get a hang of the other traits.

“Hey, I know you can do it. Hell, I'll probably thank you once I do remember, but you also gotta forgive yourself."

She looked at him confused. “Wait, I don't get it. I mean, none of us could control what happened in those bad timelines.”

He just shook his head. "Sans explained how your soul works. You're trying to control your emotions so you can keep your determination, so if you need the button it's there. Still, I think that's where Frisk got it wrong. Let yourself feel what you need to fell. If the time comes where you need that determination it'll be there."

Here I thought I was being sneaky.

She just smiled and laughed. “So how much do I owe for the wise bartender's advice?”

Grillby smiled as he started to make his way back towards the camp. "I'll just put it on your tab."

Marie grinned as she looked back at the stars once more.

See, no one has truly forgotten you. I'll get you out someday hope, I promise.

Linked Universe x Undertale also known as LinkedTale also also known as The Weirdest Dream Legend Has Ever Had.

Flowey is now Four the Clover, and he gets to have two mouths. Frisk, the protag of the game, is now Wind. Chara, the first fallen child and theorized to be the game’s narrator, is now Legend, who is 100% Wind’s narrator.

I also changed up Flowey/Four’s dialogue to hopefully match Four a bit more. Also, the pink of Legend’s text is that same as the the pink you can choose to have for spareable monsters! The text for spareable monsters is typically yellow, like the same color Flowey/Four uses for those important words.

Oh, and Legend is cursed to wear pants now. L.

Well this story was one of the first that got me really back into writing but, there is so much to it I can improve. I’ve gotten a lot better since the start of this.  Still, made it into an audio mostly cuz I can’t bring myself to hate it.

Wind and Legend’s sprites are both done!!! The second gif shows Legend’s ghost sprites, aka what he would look like normally “in game.” He’d he tailing Wind, so when you’d move Wind, he follows. Imma take a break from sprite edit for now cause my goodness is it more painful than I thought it would’ve been lamo.

Working Legend’s sprites now! His hair was honestly kinda easy to do, compared to Wind at least. His face sure is a pain tho, since his cheeks and hair are both the same shade of pink. But yeah, here’s both of the heroes together

Sky as Toriel for LinkedTale! I tried to keep as much as Sky’s original design in as possible while matching with Toriel’s silhouette. Honestly, it’s crazy how well the Deltarune symbol works with LoZ, given the three triangles and the Angel. Had to take away his Sailcloth, since it’s just too much and also he can’t really use it much Underground. He still has it, however. He also has the Master Sword(just didn’t draw her since she looks the same).
