Life Cycle of a Peridot

Hi, so there's my Tiny Gems AU again. I love these little guys so much. Think of them as a mix between plant and insect (inspired by ants and leaf sheep. If you don't know what a Leaf Sheep is I implore you to search it now! :D)

This is kind of a gemling Au but not really since gems still emerge from walls and the diamond are the only ones with essence to make them (like queen bees) Young Gems need to eat materials that have minerals related to their gem, but after that they only need sunlight to live. Gems are still immortal but commonly fall prey to falling boulders and large organics. They just get gobbled up. (Our Peridot is spoiled though, don't worry about her.)

It drove me nuts that Steven never tells Peridot what happened on the moon in Can't Go Back. Of course, I forgot that in canon it was daytime when he got back and she was already out of the house, so this scene isn't quite plausible. Oh well!

its been 5 years now, half a decade with you. growing up i dreamt of something like this, having a wife. a wife that id dedicate my whole life to, to love and cherish until the end of time. to cook for, to clean for, cus i love all that housewife shit. to love unconditionally, because im in love with love. i got to a point where so much had left me in dust and i figured id be happier alone.

but you found me, by some insane magic of the universe, you found me on that little minecraft realm. i tried hard to keep myself alone, but you broke through those barriers and showed me what being loved really was. it took time. painful nights, i hurt you many times, but i finally let myself free from whatever was keeping me locked away. you never stopped trying. you are the girl who waited. you saw something in me i never knew i had and im so, so grateful. you and i have grown into something greater than i could have ever imagined, an unstoppable and insanely talented duo with endless love.

we create so many wonderful things together, things that i never thought id be a part of. you brought so much color and creativity in my life, i found the voice in my art. i found my voice. the art we make together is unmatched. i absolutely love creating with you.

there is truly no one like you. you are the absolute most unique person i’ve ever met, and the kindest. you are the most talented person ive ever met. the most loving and understanding. there is no one like you.

noelle, flutters, catra, lapis, sasha. i’ve got the pleasure to know so much of you. no one knows you like me and no one knows me like you. there is truly something special about us. something beyond this world. i really believe that we will always find each other in any reality, and it’s proven time and time again.

so i made this art, which can only say so much. but it shows how we’ve grown, the faces we’ve had, the experiences. there will never be enough words in the world to truly explain what you are, or what we are.

thank you, from deep inside my very inner soul, for loving me for so long. i will continue to love you more and more every single day and i will never stop.
