Ceramic piece that survived the kiln! I took as inspiration the nymph’s light and flowing costume from LMdF, This has 2 glazes on it, a copper and a clear. we really didn’t know how it would fire but I think that it has a certain sense of movement and fluidity about it.

The holey bench at the bus stop was the perfect place to photograph it too.

stupid investigative works in dermatology #1

so i have this trouble, and it doesn’t go away

possible solutions:

- the first thing that comes to mind - ROSACEA, but it’s unilateral (left malar area), the skin looks deeply infiltrated, and you can feel nodules underneath. there are also small papules (superficial pustules? - but no erosions) on top of all this erythema. They take doxycycline 100 mg (it’s the third week already), the redness is less, but the rash is still prominent. Other medications: octisept, nothing else

as there were pustules on the first day - culture was taken - negative. topical bacitracin/neomycin and topical betamethasone for the first 3 days - didn’t help much

then it begins:

CUTIS (2014: great mimickers of rosacea): lists other conditions:

--- SLE: must be more violaceous, usually malar, rarely unilateral

--- dermatomyositis: seborrheic parts of the face - doesn’t fit in this case much

--- PMLE: in this case one lesion, and there is no ligh - doesn’t fit

--- seborrheic dermatitis - no comment

--- ACNE - might be, pros: deep nodules and inflammation, cons: localised inflammation, other areas - spared, also there are no obvious comedones. 

--- rare stuff: CARCINOID SYNDROME: MEN, hepatic mtx, cutaneous lymphoma, LMDF: multiple papules on the face, kinase inhibitors.

or ELSE:

--- sarcoidosis?

--- cellulitis?

--- rosacea fulminans???
