Something I will never u derstand about Macaque is the one sense of hypocrisy that I will not forget.

Okay so we all remember that line that Macaque said in season 4, he said something along the lines of Wukongs a obsessive demon that runs away from his problems.

You know what my favorite part of that sense is?

MACAQUE THEN RUNS AWAY AFTER THAT

Look I get it. They had a fight, emotions are running high and you need to take a breather. But WHY would you not come back??? If you think Wukong has problems communicating his problems and opening up (which he does) then why the hell would you not stay there!

This isn't even me saying that Macaque should just chill with him under the mountain for the 500 years, that's stupid. But like, if you think Wukong won't want to talk to you, why wouldn't you stay in the place he can't leave?

Like that's the perfect place to talk about your issues. He can't go anywhere! Even in the beginning if he doesn't want to open up, I'm willing to be he would! Macaque was his best friend and his warrior, if we're made to believe that Macaque knew Wukong better than anyone then I'm willing to bet Macaque would be the one he would talk to.

Like do you have no questions? Hey, why do you feel the need to gain so much power? Hey, why were you so prominent to go for Azures idea? Was it because you admired Azure or were you just adamant on taking The Jade Emperor down?

Like you think Macaque would want to stick by Wukong right now in a time of need. (Like a Warrior would. How can you suck this hard at a job YOU gave yourself.)

Again I'm not saying Macaque should just chill with Wukong under the mountain for 509 years. But like, periodically pop in. See if he's willing to talk, maybe bring him a peach so he doesn't have to eat the iron and hot metal stuff. I don't know, if you have feelings get them out now.

Like I understand why Macaque is upset but I find it weird he doesn't ask what happened on WUKONG'S side. Like are you not curious? About anything?

I'm totally willing to exept that I'm forgetting details because I don't even remember that scene all that well but I just find it so funny that Macaque prides himself on being the warrior that stood by Sun Wukong's side but then the one major time Wukong just needed him beside him he dips. Like never comes back.

Ya know until he eats one of Wukong's children, passes it out to the other monkies, then proceeded to commit identity theft and almost get Wukongs family killed. Silly guy.

Hot take: Sometimes I think the fandom is a little double standards about Mei's trauma.

For example

they have mei holding a grudge or still being angry at Monkey King for the whole thing with the samadhi fire

Which to be honest makes a lot of sense, it was a pretty traumatic experience for her and it's normal to still harbor feelings like that.

but then you have a lot of fanart and fanfics where mei gets along very well with Macaque, putting Macaque as Mei's mentor or being father figure to mei

(and I really don't have a problem with this, if you see it that way it's perfectly fine 😌👍)

I just wish we saw more comics or fanfics where Mei doesn't immediately become friends with Macaque and actually has a hard time being around him or still holds a grudge against him for what happened with the Samadhi fire.

Macaque rant/slander (my opinion)

Macaque had off-screen self reflection and not much change,but the Fandom praised him for the bare minimum. He hasn't really changed much in his behavior and hasn't got much consequences for his actions towards mk,he still acts all high and mighty. (I guess lbd is his Consequences^)

I want him to earn his place in the monkie crew and show he has remorse about his shitty actions,we haven't seen that yet or anything like that at all.

it doesn't matter in s3 if he was dying,he hurt mk and his friends. He actively hurt mk in s1/2/3.

He has done the bare minimum of change and help,if you say he care about mk,then it more Fucked up,I don't want him to get a pat on the back for the bare minimum,he has traumatized mk and people act he hasn't.the Fandom acts like he already Redeemed,when he isn't,he hasn't Acknowledged he done harm to mk or atoning at all.

Saccharine by Jazmine Bean is Macaque all over. I always imagine that he's someone who hasn't felt genuine romantic attraction, so those feelings of romance overwhelm him, a massive form of cute aggression where he's not sure if he wants to keep you by his side and rip apart anyone who looks at you or tear you apart for causing him to be put in such turmoil. In another post I mentioned Pet by Perfect Circle is so LBD. The manipulation of convincing you that she's the only one who truly understands you and can keep you safe in this imperfect world, you just need to shut everything else out. Only her words matter. Only trust in her. Everyone else is just trying to deceive you. Yandere by Jazmin Bean? Peng. Peng Peng Peng. It's a more general song but I can definitely see Peng being the most proud of his actions for the sake of his darling. After all, in his mind, who wouldn't want a partner who's willing to go the extra mile to keep rivals at bay and your honor true? That's just the mark of a devoted suitor, after all.

On the topic of Macaque homeboy made a fucking bootleg of wukong’s game XD with the ‘I just picked up a ‘how to draw anime’ book’ artstyle I love him so much and he’s so genuinely nice helping MK out with his issues I’m so happy. He came to cause havoc and slander Wukong and then the moment he saw Mk glitching out and struggling with his power he got serious. *Bangs my fist on the table* THIS MAN!!! *ahem* I am completely normal about this

On the flip side we are DISTRAUGHT over what happened with the demon bull family. I think my mom is gonna kill Azure for trapping Redson- we’ll tag team ‘em XD I love how much they genuinely adore each other. They fought against each other and fell in love enemies to lovers style I swear these are the best characters and they don’t even get touched on half the time It’s A Travesty

Also it annoyed me that Azure immediately blamed Mk for trying to get Wukong back and blamed him for the tablet breaking when HE WAS THE ONE TO SLICE IT- IT LITERALLY WOULDN’T HAVE BROKEN HAD THIS BITCH NOT WHIPPED OUT HIS SWORD. He’s so quick to judge others and is blind to his own hypocrisy, if he stopped for one moment to talk things out before hand things wouldn’t have gone bad but then he gets all sad that others didn’t act according to his plan. I can somewhat understand him but homeboy needs to take a step back and look inwards for a hot sec. I do appreciate that he was trying not to involve the group in the matter since they aren’t their ancestors, and let them choose to involve themselves though. So I kinda like him but his lackeys not so much, especially that fucking bird >:(

Also idk about anyone else but during S3 when Nezha (?)was teamed up with Mk -for like a single fight- my brain went ‘big bro vibes’. Cause I can’t not put everyone into the found family like a buncha dolls in my new lmk doll house XD but I’m excited to see how he’ll fit in the group dynamic and if he’s gonna be a bigger character next season. He seems really cool!

ALSO THE DRAGON- MEI’S DRAGON ANCESTOR- OMFG HE’S SO CUTE. Dude is adorable- they gave him oversized sleeves and he’s so chill XD 10/10 character design he was so nice homie was just chilling in the dungeon unbothered. ‘Just make a new sword? 🙂’ and he was so right- he’s so incredibly based I love his vibe and he was only here for like 5 minutes

It always bothers me a little how almost everyone puts Macaque as girl's father figure but ignores sandy, Pigsy and Tang as a candidate, I mean the two times we see her aware and free of Lady Bone Demon, she is in Pigsy's Noodles

and not forget sandy

One of the few things we know about the girl is that she likes cats.

sandy loves cats, he owns 29 cats, counting Mo.

the fact that Sandy trusts her enough to trust Mo to be with her, the little girl and sandy are cat lovers.

That makes them have things in common, I mean that they both like cats is not much but it is something

What is she and Macaque have in common?

I know there isn't enough information about her, but of the few things shown about her, why is Macaque seen as the father figure of the Little girl?

yes, he saved her, But do we ever see them interact with each other apart from the scene where he saves her?

I don't remember any scenes of the two of them talking to each other, any hint that they are even acquaintances.

1. No I don't. I think the only thing they have in common is Lady Bone Demon. But by that standard Sun Wukong would be a better father figure considering they were both possesed.

2. Because he caught her and because alot of people like Macaque. You can absolutely like Macaque, no slander, but they have absolutely nothing in common. People like Sun Wukong and Mk so they wanna give it to Macaque. Again, no slander.

3. No. No. No. Considering how Macaque acts with Mk, how he shows NO remorse for his actions, and how he acts with other character's, Macaque would be a HORRIBLE father figure. No seriously. It would be awful.

I rewatched the end of Season 3 of Lego Monkie Kid and I timed from the start of Macaque and Wukong fighting to the end.

1 minute and 7 seconds.

Incase you were wondering it took 1 minute and 7 seconds for Possesed Wukong, someone who is not in control of his body by the way, someone who is most likely weaker considering he's not in control of his abilities, to beat the shit out of Macaque.

Hes pathetic and it makes me happy.

Ya know what would be so funny? The three people Macaque is drawn with alot either don't know who he is or just don't fucking like him.

(Oh by the way there is absolutely nothing wrong with drawing Macaque with any of these people as a duo or ship, besides the minor. Like it's cute but I just find it funny that MACAQUE is the one that gets drawn with these three.)

I've seen Macaque drawn with these three alot:

Princess Iron Fan: The joke is that since Wukong and Bull King are sworn brothers what if Princess Iron Fan and Macaque were sworn siblings. It's just silly.

Chang'e: They both are the moon. Macaque calls himself the moon and Chang'e is litteraly the moon goodess who is stuck on the moon. Ha ha, get it?

Bai He (Lady Bone Demon's possesed body): Macaque caught the girl when she fell so they're so obviously father and daughter. Nah I'm kidding, it's fine. But yeah, Macaque caught the girl when she fell so people made them father and daughter.

I just find it silly because

1. Has Princess Iron Fan met Macaque? Like ever? Even then, would she even like him. Something tells me she wouldn't really like the guy that stalks and obsesses over her brother in law, no matter how much she may not like him anymore.

2. Chang'e and Macaque, those hoes have never met. Ever. Ha ha moon. (Bro Chang'e is on the moon after the loss of her husband. Macaque compares himself to the moon because SUN Wukong and because sun and moon dynamic.That is not the same thing.)

3. Bro what the hell happened to that girl??? Like Macaque didn't adopt her. The last we see of her is eating noodles in Pigsy's shop. I find it funny that people looked at those 2 and thought "Yes, father and daughter."

Again honestly, there is nothing wrong with doing this. Seriously I'm not making fun of you. I just find it funny that MACAQUE is the one you wanna give interesting dynamics to.

(My FAVORITE part is all these people that I listed, their dynamics work better with Wukong. Princess Iron Fan and Wukong are siblings in law, Wukong has met Chang'e and she's a big fan, and wouldn't the litte girl make more sense with Wukong because they could both share the trauma of being possesed. Actually as we speak I'm writing a fic where Wukong apologizes to Bai He and tries to explain that no, he didn't want to kill her but the bone demon needed to be defeated and Bai He is just listening. I'll post whenever the hell I get that done.)

I saw a post by @nightmarebunnyking talking about the Wukong can't read headcannon and I wanna add my two cents.

I dont like it. Big shocker.

But I don't like it because of he's my favorite or something like that. I just don't think it makes sense for him.

I think Lmk is trying to make it seem like Wukong can't spell or read. The one scene I remember that makes It seem like this is where Wukong and Macaque are arguing and Wukong spells dead like "ded."

For Wukong I don't think that makes sense. He's called The Intelligent Stone Monkey for a reason.

Wouldn't it make sense that Macaque doesn't know how to write and read in modern Chinese? This isn't even to call Macaque stupid or something, think about it. He's been dead for hundreds of years until he was brought back.

He out of all characters shouldn't know how to read or write because he wasn't around for the shift. Wukong was.

Also I can name so many reasons or explanations of why he can read.

Didn't he make his own game? That implies that he not only understands how to read and write, he also knows code.

He has emails from his lawyer. He has to be able to work a Gmail account.

If you didn't know in the book, the baby monkies can talk like a normal person. I fully believe that Wukong would learn modern language to teach them because he would have to be able to communicate with them in a modern way if something happens.

What I think would be more realistic is that Wukong struggles with modern language. Like he can still read and write but maybe some words confuse him or he has a hard time pronouncing them.

Hell you could twist that into a moment with any character.

Of the top of my head, maybe it bothers Wukong that he can't speak fluently. Maybe he thinks he's stupid. He may have trouble communicating to people like Redson or Mei or Pigsy because he gets words wrong and it's hard to interpret what he means.

I could make that into a sweet bonding moment between Mk and Wukong. Mk sees It bothers Wukong because he can't speak properly to the others. He could sit down and help Wukong and they could have their bonding.

This could apply to and Wukong duo.

You like Tang and Wukong as a duo? Tang helps Wukong read a book that has words he struggles with. Boom. Bonding moment.

Mei and Wukong your thing? Mei teaches Wukong modern kid slang so he can teach them to the baby monkies. Boom.

Hell this can go to shipping.

If your a big ShadowPeach shipper then Wukong teaching Macaque how the language works now. The two of them could sit down, read, and learn new words together.

I hope I articulated this well. I just saw their post and wanted to get my point across.

You know what I am sick of, in the LMK fandom, is how they make it like Mei or Pigsy to be best pals with Macaque, because they hate Wukong, but ignoring what Macaque did wrong to them, I don't think Mei or Pigsy, they would become best friends just like that, I don't care if you think Macaque redeemed.

It just doesn't make sense, it is like the fandom cherry-picks, which monkey gets more of the slander and which one doesn't.

This isn't a fun original concept in this fandom, I see it everywhere, where Wukong gets shit on and Macaque doesn't,an becomes best friends with characters that the Fandom thinks they hard-core hate Wukong, they get along that way, and I hate it.

It's like only Wukong gets the slander and macaque doesn't.
