Great 'sandwiches' of the US, Part 2!!!! A BLT eaten in the sun, my first taco al pastor, soyrizo breakfast burrito on a whale watching boat, homemade lobster roll, Dunks bacon and egg wrap on the Commuter Rail, and pita with loukaniko sausage and spicy feta!
I can't believe I'd never had al pastor before. Also, the secret to a lobster roll is too much butter, almost way too much butter—you should ideally be able to notice the butter specifically. Also, grill the bun. Also, I love Greek sausage. Like, a lot.

Yes, the BLT. With fresh tomatoes and crispy lettuce, a perfect meal in summer. Fantastic.
Grilled cheese, with its loyal compatriot tomato soup, sure to warm the bones in winter.
I like a club sandwich at a diner. With the festive foil-topped toothpicks holding the works together.
Lobster roll, Italian beef (with the hot giardiniera, get that sweet pepper bullshit out of here), Philly cheese steak, muffaletta, hot brown, banh mi...
All marvelous. Amazing. Fuck yes.
But the reuben. The glorious gift from on high rurben. The king of sandwiches.
Little known fact: if you don't agree that the reuben is the greatest sandwich ever created by humankind, I'm legally allowed, nay obligated, to hold the back of your head, gently mush one into your face while whispering directly into your dumbass non reuben loving earhole...

YAKUZA are sad because why is their order taking so long?
They haven't seen their waitress for 30 minutes. Is she on a break? Stomachs are beginning to grumble.
They all ordered their usual. One cheeseburger, a club sandwich, one BLT, and then a sushi platter but with guacamole instead of wasabi because that stuff's just too spicy and tamari instead of soy sauce on the side, it's nice to have a hint of sweetness in there, and is it possible to get those California Rolls without the pickle? It is? Nice. What about lobster? Could you do a lobster tail sushi thing? An order of those. How about a tuna sashimi but maybe just lightly fry the tuna in a skillet? That would be great. And maybe some Tiger Rolls but without those fishy eggs, those are gross.

Wait, what if the term "sandwich" is basically the Carcinisation of the food kingdom? like you have the regular BLT sandwich thats like the crab, standard, unassuming, but still good. Then you have the hinged sandwich and hotdogs that are like the Lobster of the food kingdom. And ice cream sandwiches are like Scorpions because they're one of the only crab like creature that lives on the surface all their lives.

My first-ever lobster roll, at the tender age of 36 (what can I say—I'm bad at being a New Englander); the perfect BLT (developed through extensive testing by my scientist brother); and a hat trick of things you can't really find in Japan: whole wheat bread, big dill pickle, turkey. Sigh.
(Did you know we don't even have turkey at Subway anymore? And what even is the point of Subway if they're not the one place you can get turkey? They already didn’t have meatball subs or sweet onion chicken teriyaki……..)
