In the Aurex timeline of the Nanocons and the smallest Cybertron, did the Autobots and Decepticons have combiners? Other Aurex timelines feature bot combinations like Perceptor and the Star Saber: are there equivalents on Nanocon Cybertron?
Dear Nanocon Native,
In this reality, combination among the “large” Autobots and Decepticons is not unheard of, but comparatively rare. Sixtrain and Devastator are the most powerful warriors among the Autobots and Decepticons; on this tiny Cybertron, their clashes were devastating enough to reduce entire cities to ruins. Other combiner teams include Sureshock, High Wire and Grindor; the Decepticons employ several Transformers who can combine into shared vehicle modes, such as the villainous Fireshot and Vanquish.
Indeed, it is far more common for the Nanocons of this universe to combine. Put together, a team of Nanocons can rival a “full-sized” Cybertronian in terms of strength and power, and these powerful Nanocon warriors are sought-after by those independent Nanocons who seek independence from both the Autobots and Decepticons. The Nanocon Bumblebee, for instance, employed Constructicon Maximus and Superion Maximus as security guards while laboring to build the Ark.

so I know you've referenced them a bit in your art, but what're your feelings on the Trendmasters designs? I've always been a fan of them myself, and still lament that we didn't get more (like the doomed Doom Island run)
The only one I ever had was the one with Godzilla and Mecha-King Ghidorah, and I must have been about four or five years old at the time. For a while dark green, silver spined, red eyed Godzilla was the only version of the character I knew, aside from reruns of the old Hanna-Barbara cartoon and later on Godzilla: The Series.
Looking back at the rest, I can tell a few compromises had to be made to make some of the characters a bit more toyetic. Either that or they got another sculptor partway through the line. A few of them (most notably Megalon) had their silhouettes and color schemes changed, but I think the designs are pretty nifty. They’re colorful without being too blaring (aside from the repainted ones), and the new sculpts have a lot of character, while the others are surprisingly design adherent to the films. Also, some of them had guns and armor. So yeah, pretty sweet overall.
From what I’ve seen of Doom Island, it looks like something I would have dug as a kid considering it had mutant dinos and Anguirus (and Kumonga!) with missiles.
Also, have you seen @almightyrayzilla‘s series of Trendmaster’s inspired art? It’s good stuff.

So I recently found out about Sony's "Black & Silver" film - the next part of their weird, Spiderman-less Spiderman universe - getting pulled from their line-up. Seeing that reminded me of your "How I'd Ruin Batman" post from a while back, and how Sony is kinda doing the same thing with Spiderman. Ever had any similar thoughts about Marvel heroes?
Perhaps it’s arrogance on my part to say so, but I don’t think I’d ruin any of the Marvel characters I care about if I got the chance to write them.  Marvel’s superheroes tend to be snarky fuck ups who are doing the best they can to get their shit together and/or outsiders who are treated as “monstrous” but still try to be heroic despite it, and both of those things are the kinds of heroes I love to write.  Their rogues gallery is also kind of notoriously bland - there are some really great Marvel villains, don’t get me wrong, but few are as interesting as the Batman rogues.  I wouldn’t find myself drawn to sympathize with, say, Dr. Octopus over Spider-Man.  In fact I would love the chance to write Spider-Man comics, because I REALLY love the character and think the more recent comics tend to fuck him up worse than I ever could.

Hey, me again! Couple things: First, that armor/rainbow Dagahra sounds hilarious cool; Second, Europe seems pretty chill - any chance of kaiju roaming around, or is it sort of humanity's main bastion? Third, I still can't figure out the references in #13 and #31 on your chart
Imagine an Eternal Daghara.
Europe has vey little monster activity. The only way to make it livelier would be to import critters from other movie series, like Gorgo or Reptilicus or somesuch. It’s probably relatively safe, but there are other safe areas like the western US, Southern South America, but the more mobile kaiju are a threat everywhere.
#13 is there to build intrigue and isn’t referencing anything, and #31 is that big god guy from that one fantasy movie.

I really love that recent map you posted. I've got a soft spot for a world building exercise like that, and all the little references are another treat to me. So, is this possibly connected to your other kaiju ideas you've discussed recently? (the Monsterland ideas, some of those alternate reality Baragon/Gorosaurus designs and especially the future Baragon one, etc)
Thanks!
I’ve been making them as I go, with no real intention of having them set in a single world. They certainly share many ideas I’ve had for a single unified Godzilla setting that I’ve had sitting on the back-burners for a while. The map probably has the most.
There’s nothing stopping anyone from seeing all this as a single world, if that’s what you want.
