🔸July/October 1978 - Queen Story!
"Jazz"
Queen's seventh studio album was the first to be recorded outside of the UK. Sessions for Jazz began at Mountain Studios in Switzerland, in July 1978, and later moved to Super Bear studios in Nice, France, concluding in October. Producer Roy Thomas Baker had been absent on the previous two LPs, but for this project the team was reunited - though it would prove to be the last Queen/Baker production. Geoff Workman and John Etchells were the engineers.
"Jazz" was released in the UK on 10th November 1978 and four days later in America, reached number 2, chart for 27 weeks, achieved Platinum status.
Singles from this album: Fat Bottomed Girls / Bicycle Race / Don’t Stop Me Now / Jealousy.

‘I knew there were specific sounds I wanted. But it’s very hard to get what’s in your head 100 percent on CD. A lot of people never get that, ever. With my first album I practically had it although I wasn’t really sure what I wanted it to be like. But on the second one I surpassed what I thought I could have done. I’m really proud of it.’ - Amy Jade Winehouse

I loved that little moment in The Masquerades of spring when
Nightingale and Gussie are in the jazz club and Nightingale is enraptured and Gussie thinks "another convert to the cause". I love that we got to see Nightingale fall in love with jazz

Hot and fresh jazz is coming from the UK capital from London Brew. An array of the finest talents from London Jazz’s thriving scene make up the project. Shabaka Hutchings, Theon Cross, Nubya Garcia, Benji B, Dave Okumu, and Tom Skinner are among the notables involved. In case the name didn’t tip you off, it is a re-imagining of Miles Davis’ ‘Bitches Brew’ that channels the spirit of that masterpiece. As individual artists in their own rights, their discographies attest to their talents and enrich the sound. The result is vibrant, energising, challenging and transcendent music that will delight jazz heads old and new.

why would someone use magic to kill a jazz musician in the middle of his set? I mean, I have my problems with the New Thing and the rest of the atonal modernists, but I wouldn't kill someone for playing it - at least, not if I wasn't trapped in the same room.
