*Churchbells* Dana 120 + Washi W ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This is about as experimental as it gets. Spurred on by photos by @billthoo and @apkeedle I decided to do some radical multiexpo shots of Paris. I needed slow film in order to ensure it wasn't horrendously overexposed, and said Bill had given me a roll of Washi W, so I gave that a try. Note that the Dana 120 is seriously blurry at all distances (I tested that on a separate roll) so I wasn't expecting much here. And while this is not the look I was after, and the vignette is rather savage (strong vignette from the Dana plus sharp low-light drop off from the paper is my guess) I really like the results, in an impressionistic photography kind of way. *Iron Ladies* Canon EOS300 + Ferrania P30 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Inevitably, I had to try and shoot the Eiffel Tower. In theory, when you shoot multiple exposures, you’re supposed to underexpose 1 stop for each additional exposure. That seemed huge to me, and indeed the images I underexposed by 8 stops barely came out. This one was underexposed by 6 stops, and I still think it’s too dark. Review: Analog Forever #1. The level of quality of @analogforeverzine is truly astounding, both in terms of production quality, lack of advertising (two or three pages in the whole magazine), choice of artists featured, etc. That said, having read this first issue after I read the third, I also see what's improved in the meantime, and one thing seems to be the writing. In this first issue there's a lot of words, long convoluted sentences that I'm not sure mean much (or at least if they do I don't understand them). It all sounds a bit too sophisticated. The mix of artists featured was a little less my style than in issue #3, but still: Estevan Oriol, Blue Mitchell, Nils Karlson, Fred Lyon, Yelena Zhavoronkova and Anna Fösterling all present stunning work, that's half the issue right there. Again, I read it cover to cover and it was well worth it. *Fortress Hill* GW690iii + Fuji Acros Neopan II ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Just next to the Fortress Hill MTR station there's a very graphic stairwell that takes people up the hill (at least partly, it's a very high hill). It was bathed in afternoon light when I walked past while the side streets were in the shadows. I love the massive Banyan tree (or trees) above it as well. *Profile in Leaves* Fuji TX2 (XPAN) + Agfa Scala 200 Model : Olivier ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The more I look at the Scala shots, the more I like them. Sure the blowing of the background didn't work, but it's still contrasty, and it feels to me a bit like those old portrait shots. I'm not comparing myself to Irving in any way, but these shots feel a bit to me like they are from the same era. I'll definitely be exploring these double exposures further, and possibly writing an article about the process. I'm somewhat limited by the constraints of my EOS300 which limits multiple exposures to 9 frames. I decided to shoot super low ISO film (12 ISO here) to get more latitude even in bright daylight. These types of film are super contrasty, of course. *The Long Quiet* Fuji GW690iii + Rollei RPX25 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Shooting 25 ISO film in the streets (or in this case in a cemetery) without a tripod is a bit mad, but I've done worse (did anyone say Fantome 8 ?) When the sun is this bright, it works provided you pick your subjects with care.
